Went to the Clawson Steak House given the positive reviews and pictures that looked good.
Almost* everything was just not as good as it seemed like it should have been. The quality of the steak (I got a NY Strip, my wife got a filet) was just okay. We both ordered them medium rare but they came out medium. And the meat was not particularly good. Not bad, just not especially good. The salad was a pile of lettuce with a tomato. Etc. There is an Outback just down the road which, for less than half the price, has the similar or superior quality in almost every aspect.
Staff-wise, similarly, the Clawson Steak House was not impressive. The waiter made no attempt to build a rapport or even ask anything beyond what we wanted to eat (we were there for our anniversary). We were told that there was a $5 upcharge for one of the items, but it actually ended up being $15. Further, it took a long time after ordering to get our main course. It was not busy but the waiter did not check in/do anything during that time with us (including that he did not check to see if we wanted additional drinks, left our salad plates on the table throughout, etc.).
The live music was fine. Nothing bad, nothing special.
If you want a good steakhouse, there are far better options. If you want a good steak, there are far better options. If you want decent service, there are far better options.
But if you want to drop $200 to be ignored, spend an hour or more waiting, and have a reasonably just okay steak, well, this spot is ready and waiting for your business.
* - the bread was pretty decent. And when the highlight of a meal at a steakhouse is that the bread wasn't bad, that is a big problem.
