"This old-school Clawson staple dishes up hearty entrees such as the signature porterhouse steak and the New Yorker (a center cut dry-aged sirloin strip with zip sauce). For surf and turf lovers, the Manhattan scallops and steak offers the best of both worlds. Takeout and delivery are available in addition to dine-in service." - Serena Maria Daniels

I read so many reviews of this place. The experience for us was excellent! We had a great server, Kristy. She was fun and attentive. The food was awesome! We both had steak and they were perfectly cooked. The salad was fresh and the blue cheese was perfect! The French onion soup was delicious and the rolls were fresh and hot. We just had a great experience! We will definitely be back!

I wanted to like this old institution and who wants to support an Outback Steakhouse when you have old school charm, a band playing and a place that stays open late? I’m hoping it’s because I ordered the wrong thing but certain things need an upgrade. The plates and glasses were not clean and that’s not something that gives confidence. The prime rib was on the tough side and it’s supposed to be the best in town. The salad was made with iceberg lettuce and they can do better than that. Not to mention Keno on the table? I mean you can’t bill yourself as anything more than a bar if you have keno? The ambience which was Fred Astaire meets Bogart can melt the heart of fans is the classics and the band was great. The server was attentive and experienced. I’m hoping to give them another try. I want to like this place, it gives me hope that the era of proper dancing will survive, rather than night clubs!!

1st time going to Clawson Steakhouse and took the family out for our annual holiday Christmas Eve dinner. The food was great, and the atmosphere is perfect for a night out. Service was a little slow, but in their defense, it was Christmas eve and it was a packed house. Overall, I will be back again.

Omg !!!!! This was our first time here and let me tell you I’m already planning my next trip back !!!!!!!!!!!! It’s been soooo long since I’ve experienced service like that , and the food smh was good also ! The drink I had was a lemon drop excellent!!!!! My boyfriend had something different that was also good ! Let’s just say they weren’t being stingy with the alcohol at all !!! Ok I had the baby back ribs which was fall off the bone !!! And steak fries , the other meal was the sizzling steak and it was good as well ! Very tender with a bake potato that was to die for !! I mean I can’t believe we just stumble upon this place . They also had live music , candle lighting. Perfect date night !!!! I must go back !!

Hadn't been here in 30 years because we live on the east side of town. Found out that it's the same owners. Everything was excellent. I had steak and scallops, with baked potato. Beef tips appetizer and key lime pie for dessert. Nikki our server was fantastic, even though it was very busy because of Mothers Day. We definitely will be back, but will have to plan it out based on our location. Extensive menu.

Google
We have been wanting to try this place for a long time and we are glad that we finally had a chance to dine in. The interior was a little dark in my opinion but I think most of the great restaurants that I’ve tried in the past were dimly lit. Don’t let a little darkness scare you away as the food we’ve tried was excellent. We’ve tried the lamb chop, mussels and the 54 oz monster prime rib. Lamb chop was cooked to perfection and the prime rib was delicious. Although I couldn’t finish it all, it was still great the next day for lunch. Definitely worth the try if you are in the mood for steak nearby.

Google
This is the best prime rib I’ve ever had. My wife’s dinner (Whitefish)was delicious as well. The waitress and busboy’s were incredible, excellent service ! The atmosphere was very nice, reminded me of the old Carl’s Chop House except the booth’s weren’t red. Prices are very reasonable, especially for food of this caliber. Outstanding evening and best birthday dinner ever !

We were seated within minutes of arriving. Got glasses of water and menu's. About 5 minutes later we got our drink orders in and that's when things got slow. It was over 15 minutes to place our order. And almost an hour after we arrived we got our dinner. Now they were busy and I don't know how many servers were working but that seemed a little long. The food was worth the wait though. My prime rib looked like a beef roast it was huge. The food was excellent and our server was excellent. We will definitely go again. The parking is a little tough very confined, you might have to park across the street.

Yelp
This place is a vibe. Older crowd, and old-school everything in the best possible way. It is updated and clean. Menu is classic, but everything is fresh and looks great. Lots of fun courses to extend out the meal. Steaks were delicious. I liked the calamari. Drinks were great (one wasn't but the replaced it), although pricey (beer was much more reasonable). Tracie was an awesome server! Here for an 8 person birthday party, and she took great care of us. I loved pretty much everything I tasted. Delmonico was great. Fresh veggies. Great salad, bread, and soup. The perch was mehh... wanted a little more flavor and texture. But still fresh tasting. Great old school fun plus the live band!

Yelp
Came here for our anniversary dinner. The photos of all the food looked good, and we were excited to try a new steakhouse, that wasn't a chain. My husband called before to see if we needed a reservation, and they let us know we didn't (it was a Wednesday evening). We got there and were seated right away, the place seemed pretty outdated, but I could see how it was a whole vibe. Our waiter came over to take our drink order and the live band that was there just started up right around the same time. The band was playing mostly lounge music and some people were dancing on the dance floor. Our waiter came over to bring us our drinks and take our food order. I had wanted the Manhattan scallops and steak, but didn't want the new york strip it came with and asked how much it would be to upgrade to a filet. The waiter said $5, and I said that was fine and got the scallops and steak. My husband got the new york strip and we both wanted our steaks cooked to medium rare. We got our salad and soup, and it was a good 30-40 minutes from when we finished our salads until our steaks came out. The scallops were good, but both steaks were overcooked, probably to medium. The quality of the steaks just didn't seem to be great, the flavor was only mediocre and it was kind of a let down. We finished up our dinner, and got the bill. The waiter had orginally told us there would be an upcharge of $5 for the filet upgrade, but it actually ended up being $15, he didn't mention that and it was kind of a crappy move to not mention the $10 price increase. We paid the bill and left a decent tip. Kind of disappointed, but I guess it's always good to try something new.

Yelp
I was at a conference and we ordered carry out. It was Valentine's Day and we had to pick up before 3:30. We ordered for 5 of us, and when we went to eat at 5 pm, we saw that one of our meals was missing! The company owner had to go pick it up! They should have offered a free dessert or to take the meal off of our bill. I called and was told that I would have to call back the next day. Poor service and poor response from the manager. Not worth the money and definitely not worth my employers' time and energy.

Yelp
Clawson Steakhouse is our "go-to" place to enjoy a great meal in comfort and style. First we ordered our drinks and a lovely bread basket was brought to the table. We started with the French onion soup that was very flavorful, then a nice salad with the best homemade blue cheese dressing! Our main coarse was the prime rib, cooked perfectly, with a potato side...the perfect dinner.

Yelp
I've lived near this institution for decades and finally went tonight with family for the first time. It was quite a flashback to bygone era from the decor and menu. The interior is dark-paneled from the 1970-80s. My chair had holes from wear in the arms. Service was very nice and attentive. The menu is extensive and full of interesting items. All meals come with bread, soup, salad and a starch or today's vegetable. I got the prime rib (house cut which is the smaller size was huge). Plentiful is the rule at the Clawson Steak House. The prime rib was very tasty. The lamb chops, salmon and ravioli were good as well according to my family. The French onion soup was very average. The key lime pie, made onsite, was lacking in taste and clearly in a poor store bought crust. We had a nice meal, the service was great.

Yelp
This was hands-down one of the best dining experiences I've had in the past year possibly even longer. How I grew up not far from here and yet never dined here is beyond me? My grandparents even used to come for dinner and dancing back in the 60s. Well there's no time like the present and I was able to rectify that erroneous mistake. I'm already planning my next visit in December. We came to celebrate my friends birthday. Not having reservations on a Friday night I was taking a leap of faith but had a contingency plan of cocktails at the bar while waiting for a table. It worked out great and my friend and I were able to enjoy a round of cocktails while they prepared a booth for us in the main dining area. The Mark James band was setting up and we had a perfect view of the dance floor. It was an old-school dining experience. One where they don't rush you and the courses are spaced out to give you plenty of time to enjoy your food, listen to the music, and enjoy your company. Everything we tried was wonderful. We started with the soft bread basket. After being on keto for over a month it was a treat to just enjoy warm buttered bread. For an appetizer we shared an order of escargot (my favorite). It came with buttery garlic toast points. Next up was a dinner salad which was good (typical dinner salad-no complaints). Our waitress knew how to balance the right amount of presence but also letting us enjoy the experience. For the main course I chose prime rib, medium rare as recommended, and my friend had the char grilled 12 oz. New York strip steak also medium rare. It comes accompanied with pan seared sea scallops on top over wilted spinach and served with their own original Manhattan sauce. To say our steaks were excellent would be an understatement but yessss they were excellent. Dinners come with choice of potato, rice, veggies, or pasta. We both enjoyed the pasta (yay carbs). We both were stuffed and declined dessert. Clawson Steakhouse exceeded my already high expectations and I look forward to enjoying a meal there again on my next trip to Michigan.

Yelp
Once again always a great spot! Decided to come here on a whim, and was seated immediately. (Was about 8:30 PM so most of the dinner crowd was done already.) Got sat in a cozy booth and served right away! Always a fave and you always get consistency. Ordered the Sizzler and the Whitefish. We love Clawson Steakhouse! Always get the salad with light Greek dressing!

Nina N.

Yelp
Walking in kinda felt like stepping into 'Goodfellas'. It was dimly lit and all a buzz. I made a reservation so I gave my name and we were seated in a booth (which I requested) right away. Our server came over and introduced herself as Nikki. We ordered drinks off of their cocktail list and they were excellent. We started with an order of Escargot and those were fabulous. We then placed our dinner order and Nikki did an awesome job making sure we were going to have the best experience. Once delivered, I couldn't wait to dig into my medium rare 8oz filet. It was so tender and juicy....a party in my mouth! The meat sauce on the pasta was also stellar. Everything just meshed together so well. The have live entertainment on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday's. When the band first queued up, it was nice to hear in the distance but as the night grew on, it seemed to get much louder. Probably not ideal if you are looking to carry on a conversation but perfect for lounging with a drink. This place was on my list for some time. It usually gets mentions when articles are written about must try steakhouses in Michigan and they aren't wrong!

Kirsten F.

Yelp
A hidden gem. The outside seems like it's very dated but inside it's clean and cozy. They have a live band in the evening Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with a dance floor. The waitress was great and attentive. A classy place for a celebration with some good food. The prime rib really hit the mark and reminded me of those up north supper clubs with a Sunday prime rib special. Delicious! Others got the sizzler, which was also good, maybe a tad over salted. Note that they need to sharpen their steak knives, which you would expect to be good at a steakhouse but it was tough to get through the meat but super easy to chew (leftovers at home with our steak knives cut like butter). They have house made dressing for ranch, blue cheese, and Greek. We got the ranch and blue cheese which were delicious. The loaded potato was ok as was the house veggie side. We had an appetizer of shrimp which were 4 large shrimp but a little pricey at $18 a dish. They were out of crème brûlée so we got the lemon cake which was ho-hum. Cocktails were good and strong.

Yelp
Although the food was good and our server was fine, we had a problem, and the attitude of both the manager and the owner were terrible. The owner in particular was rude, sarcastic, would not allow me to complete a sentence and did not address our problem. I have never, and we eat out a lot, been treated with such disrespect. I know this place has been around for years, but we will never be back, and we have gone to eat there a lot. You cannot talk and act towards your customers the way this man did and then expect them to return.

Toni N.

Yelp
Great neighborhood place. They used to have a great happy hour, but alas it's gone. Still a good choice for dinner and weekends they have live music.

Justin A.

Yelp
The food and our bartender Christal were impeccable. There are a plethora of options on their menu and each sound delectable. An absolute must!!!

Big Money B.

Yelp
I have been going to Clawson Steak House for almost 30 years, and the place has barely changed. And that's a good thing! Terrific food with an old-school atmosphere and charm. The service is top-notch and the food reasonably priced given the quality. Perfect for a special occasion or a date night. A Jazz band plays standards several nights per week which elevates the overall experience. Overall my highest recommendation.

Theresa C.

Yelp
Clawson steakhouse has been around forever. Service was outstanding. Lately I've experienced sub par service but not at this restaurant. Service at this steakhouse was top notch for the entire meal. You can tell they are working on the older interior by the special little touches that have been added. Entrees (steaks and seafood) were cooked perfectly. Sides need some work. Bread basket had a nice variety but the rolls seemed old. Baked potatoes were hard. Soup and salad are both served which is nice. Cabbage soup was very tasty. Salad was a generous serving but was missing something? And the greek dressing was a little bland maybe could use a little more olive oil for body. Dessert menu looked pricey but that seems to be the trend at all restaurants. Have to mention again that the service was outstanding.

Jona R.

Yelp
This place exceeded my expectations. I have a gluten allergy and was able to here with no issues. When you walk in, it is like you time travel in the best way. Everything is black and red and made of velvet. There is a live band and a dance floor. Keno at the bar. It was truly the most amazing place I've ever seen. It brings you back to simpler times and dissolves you from realty while you're there. The drinks were amazing and the food was incredible. I am so glad they are still just a lively and thriving place. Everyone is welcoming, helpful and kind. You get treated like family when you are here and everyone is just genuinely in a better mindset when setting foot into this establishment.

Yelp
Went to the Clawson Steak House given the positive reviews and pictures that looked good. Almost* everything was just not as good as it seemed like it should have been. The quality of the steak (I got a NY Strip, my wife got a filet) was just okay. We both ordered them medium rare but they came out medium. And the meat was not particularly good. Not bad, just not especially good. The salad was a pile of lettuce with a tomato. Etc. There is an Outback just down the road which, for less than half the price, has the similar or superior quality in almost every aspect. Staff-wise, similarly, the Clawson Steak House was not impressive. The waiter made no attempt to build a rapport or even ask anything beyond what we wanted to eat (we were there for our anniversary). We were told that there was a $5 upcharge for one of the items, but it actually ended up being $15. Further, it took a long time after ordering to get our main course. It was not busy but the waiter did not check in/do anything during that time with us (including that he did not check to see if we wanted additional drinks, left our salad plates on the table throughout, etc.). The live music was fine. Nothing bad, nothing special. If you want a good steakhouse, there are far better options. If you want a good steak, there are far better options. If you want decent service, there are far better options. But if you want to drop $200 to be ignored, spend an hour or more waiting, and have a reasonably just okay steak, well, this spot is ready and waiting for your business. * - the bread was pretty decent. And when the highlight of a meal at a steakhouse is that the bread wasn't bad, that is a big problem.

Lorraine P.

Yelp
Great neighborhood steak house. Nice bar area. Love, love, love the Mark James band! Been going there for years.

Michael P.

Yelp
Great food, great ambiance, and great service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves a good ol' fashion supper club steak house.

Marc M.

Yelp
Lamb chops and sizzler were excellent. Great value for what you're getting. If you like the old steakhouse type feel then this place is for you.

Alexander R.

Yelp
Although the food is good, I would not recommend based on service. My last two visits are almost enough to put them on my do not eat list. One involved me being hit in the head with dish bin, where management essentially did nothing, this was after spending hundreds of dollars. Then my last nights visit consisted of a bill that was also hundreds of dollars where I was told I only reserved my table for two hours that I was pushed out of. This would have been fine if I was notified this upon making the reservation, but it was not told to me until seated. Going forward I would not eat here if I was covering the bill.

Tamara M.

Yelp
Every time I come here I love it even more! The service is great and the waitress are always the sweetest.! Off course I get steak here always and it never disappoints! I had the filets Pittsburg style and it came charred and beautiful and just perfect. The French onion soup is a must and off course their baked potatoes is delish! Even our kids enjoyed some grilled cheese and potato wedges and the yummy bread and butter they provide! I would visit again for sure

Angela S.

Yelp
Family owned steakhouse started in the late 1950s with a classic old school vibe. There is nothing modern about this place, it's like it is preserved in its original era. Food is delicious with prime steak and seafood options. Meals come with bread, soup, salad and a choice of side. French onion soup is so good and the Manhattan scallops and NY strip steak is exquisite. Live music on the weekends!

Terry S.

Yelp
Food was decent, but the bar service was terrible. Seems like they are too busy. Bartender was rude and dismissive. She lost my winning Keno slip 30 seconds after I gave it to her. She claimed I never gave it to her. She could have looked for it a little harder and asked if I knew my numbers to help find it. Instead tossed a 20 at me because I began to raise my voice. What if I had a big win? Was it a scam? Needless to say I wont be going there anytime soon. Also house band needs some new songs.

Steve A.

Yelp
Our 4 person family ate there last night and plunked down $200 for the HONOR of doing so. My wife ordered lobster bisque that was inedible which she pointed out to our server and it was not taken off of our bill. Her lobster tail was cold and overly salted. My filet was overly salted and was so tough that I literally had to saw through it. Needless to say, our first visit will be our last visit.

Christy C.

Yelp
A good standard steakhouse. Nothing fabulous or fancy ... just right. Perfect place to get an excellent old fashion, big tossed salad, and a perch dinner. Staff is mostly long-timers. Atmosphere is as one would expect: dark, quiet, comfortable.

Anonymous A.

Yelp
2 thumbs down Clawson Steak House. Bad service and gummy tasteless food tonight. I had a half slab of ribs which were mealy and tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. My husband had a filet mignon which seemed frozen. The meat was dry and tasteless. Usually all good but a bad showing this night.

Regina E.

Yelp
I absolutely love Clawson Steak House! The food is so delicious and the portions are so generous. I always tell my guests that once you eat the house bread, soup, and salad; there's no room for your entree (in a good way). Kristy is my favorite waitress and she is so detail-oriented and prompt. While the interior may seem a bit dated, it doesn't matter when you consider that this steakhouse has been a community staple for over 50 years. I love this place and the many memories that it provides for myself, friends, and family.

Bridgette Z.

Yelp
Great date night spot! They have live music Wednesday through Saturday nights and it was nice to get up and slow dance while we waited for our entrees :) they have an excellent wine list, something for everyone. You can get a lower end bottle for around $24 or they even have Opus One for $600 lol service was great too. Everyone was very kind. I was disappointed though because i wanted the land and sea entree but they were out of lamb chops. I settled on the scallop pasta which was just ok. You can see in my photo the scallops were clearly overcooked and the pasta didn't have much flavor. Very generous portion of pasta though. The cream of chicken soup that have on Saturdays is as good as everyone says it is. The house greek dressing was also delicious on the salad. Saganaki appetizer was sooo good, you really cant go wrong with flaming cheese lol We also ordered a creme brulee for dessert and although it clearly needed more time under the broiler or flame, it was still so darn good. Would have loved a crunchier top though

Phil A.

Yelp
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this place is great! When you walk inside and see the decor, it feels like you're back in the 70's, so much so you can almost smell a stench of nicotine in the air. I went here for a birthday lunch, so service was fast and there were no issues with noise or atmosphere. I first ordered the French Onion Soup and it was very good! The cheese and broth were an excellent combination and the bread made it that much better. Onto the main course, the New York Strip Steak! It was cooked to perfection. It tasted a little dry and bland at first, but adding the zip sauce made it much better! For dessert, I went with the chocolate cake. The chocolate was rich and the frosting was great, so overall a delectable choice for dessert. Overall, my experience at the Clawson Steakhouse was excellent and I will definitely come by again!

CJ M.

Yelp
The best all around steak house in detroit. Old school vibe with amazing food that won't break the bank.

K T.

Yelp
I enjoy eating here. I always order "The Sizzler" which is a large Delmonico steak. It is always cooked perfectly. My dining companions order white fish which they say is very good. Steaks include a bread basket, soup, salad and a choice of potatoes, pasta or vegetables. The French onion soup is excellent. Service is friendly and attentive. I suggest getting a reservation. Live music and dancing several nights a week. I also noticed they have significantly refurbished the restaurant.

Annie A.

Yelp
I came to this restaurant with a huge group on a Thursday night and was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service. We were a bit disappointed because we thought there would be live music as the website states "Wednesday through Saturday", but apparently Thursday is the exception. The food was good but could have been better, especially for the price. The filet was cooked to a true medium rare as ordered but the outside wasn't quite seared enough, however the mushroom sauce was tasty. The entrees all come with bread, soup, salad and a side which is a nice touch. I upgraded to the French onion soup for 1.50 and I enjoyed it. The salad and bread and side of veggies were all just ok. Also just an fyi that if you choose to split a meal, they will charge you $7.50.

Nadia B.

Yelp
Food was amazing and they have live entertainment on the weekend Love their Delmonico

Davey C.

Yelp
Amazing Service and food great place to take the family to. 100% recommend. Server was best ever had.

Ebenezer's Anni L.

Yelp
A cool retro place that understand that some think the rat pack era was the best in the last 75 years. Great service and food but you do pay for that level. When the wine list is longer than the menu, you know they serve people who like fine dinning with a musical background. They have a live band most nights. My group of 8, didn't have a bad item. Soups and salads come with the entrees. I took my french onion soup home and it warmed up great. Others who had the cream of chicken soup loved it. I ordered a strip steak and asked for the spaghetti side to go. I ate the salad and one of the rolls from the bread basket so I wanted room for some of the steak. It was so big that I got 2 more meals from it. Others got ribeye, flat iron, and porterhouse steaks. Everyone had to take some home. Those who had fish did finish it. The desserts were a little too pricey for the size. I was the only one that ordered dessert. The carrot cake was good. One of my more popular meetup dinners and even the person who drove up from Toledo said it was worth the trip. Looking forward to coming back.

Kristen D.

Yelp
Came here for our anniversary. Husband got double cut prime rib and I had chicken piccata. Both great! Also French onion soup and their rolls are excellent

Jerold M.

Yelp
Ny steak was tough and served at room temperature. I was not impressed. I definitely would not hurry back

Donna P.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed this Steakhouse. I had Whitefish Mediterrano and my husband had steak and scallops. My meal had lots of flavor and the fish was moist and flaky. Husband's steak was a perfect medium rare, scallops were large and melted in your mouth - yes, he shared. Ambiance is a throwback to fine dining in the 70's or 80's. Staff was friendly, knew their business and seemed to have worked to for awhile. Crème Brûlée topped off our meal.

Jen L.

Yelp
Pricey, but good food. The prime rib is delicious. I personally don't care for the potato side dish but my partner likes it. Service is treated like a bit of a show, with meals coming under a cloche. A place still operating like the old days in the good ways but modern enough to enjoy.

Paul D.

Yelp
A classic American steakhouse that does not disappoint. The service is awesome, the staff is friendly and experienced and the food is Ridiculicious . Dining at the bar is great option as well. It's a big place but they can handle a busy night. From the greeting by the hostess to the servers and bartenders, everyone seemed to be having fun as they cranked out a busy Saturday night. The portions are great and the steaks are amazing . This is the real deal. The manager Kim was exceptionally awesome.

Aaron R.

Yelp
I had not intended to write this review, until I heard the bartender running her mouth as we were leaving. That said, here goes. We arrived this evening, it was busy, and we waited for open seats at the bar. A couple opened up...and a couple of regulars decided they would move to the seats we were taking...no big deal to the bartender, nor the patrons. Whatever. We took over a couple of other seats...and waited for service. After a bit a bartender came by and said, "someone will be right with you" and proceeded to take up conversation with the couple next to us (the ones that took the seats we were waiting for). I guess people that haven't been served yet. weren't important enough for her attention. Told my wife that this isn't worth our date night. As we were walking to the door, we heard the same bartender exclaim, "I told them someone would be right with them." To the management of the Clawson Steakhouse, your place is dated and your staff is rude. Don't expect our time opr money, but I will sure tell anyone about you. To the readers, don't waste your time or your money. Too many other amazing places, with great staff, atmosphere and food in Clawson and surrounding area. Places we recommend in the area, that we are frequent customers of and happily spend our money at monthly: Three Cats The Detroit Burger Bar Renshaw Lounge Whiskey Taco Foxtrot Weiss Distillery (drinks only) White Wolf (desserts and coffee)

Carole D.

Yelp
Not the same as it used to be, gone downhill. The menu prices online are wayyy wrong , much more expensive than listed. We waited 15 min just to get a water before waiting again to be asked about drinks. The salad looked like "bagged" Romaine as it was brown on edges and sorry to say my "New Yorker" steak was tough and full of gristle. My husbands "New Yorker" (ordered medium) was blue inside, totally rare (raw). Our meal for 2 came to over $100 and I had to box my left-overs up myself. Finally, web sight said music after 7:30...nope, junk piled up on stage, very tacky. We wanted to have a dance for our anniversary, too bad. We won't be going back.

Wendy P.

Yelp
We went last night for our first time. Service was fair. we had a 7:30 reservation and did not get out of there until after 10:00. My husband and I had the filet ( which did not even look like a filet) We both ordered them medium rare and his came and it was medium. He sent it back and the next one was also medium. They need to learn how to cook steak. Also, the baked potatoes with dark brown. Probably our first and last time. Band was great- resturant is VERY loud. Hard to even talk.

Yelp
Service was great, lamb chops were not that good. Friends had the steak and tasted way better.

Yelp
I haven't been to clawson steak how in maybe years. If you are tired of the alcarte type restaurants you get a salad and soup with your entree. They give you a lot of food I might add. Live music and great service.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to stop in and have dinner. Called around noon made reservations for same day at 5:30. The ambiance gives you the old school Rat Pack vibe. The servers are attentive and very friendly. Looks like locals are frequent flyers are the clientele. Kind of old school classy with the dance floor and the in house band. I really enjoyed my visit. The food was prepared to our liking. Wife had the prime rib, I chose the porterhouse. They are so large that you probably could share either if you choose. Dishes were served side salad , choice of soup and side of your choice. Pricing is not for the faint hearted, come prepared to pay for the experience. They have a extensive wine menu and tons of their dishes to select from. I can't wait to go back to try something different. Like the bands first musical selection........this was " Unforgettable "......

Yelp
I took my BFF for her 73rd bday. She has been their many times and raved about the food and atmosphere. We ordered the OPA CHEESE. It was the not the greatest and she heated it so long it stuck to the tray. I was not impressed. Then the waitress got the order wrong. She brought the wrong soup . No problem that sometimes happens. Next the soup was so salty it wasn't eatable. Next the salad was . The rolls we cold and hard . My steak was supposed to be mr and came to me med. tithe baked potato was not cooked enough and was slightly warm. Needless to say I lost my appetite and would not recommend this steak house. However the band was GREAT!

Yelp
What a gem. I met a friend for lunch and it was great. I had the Maurice Salad and it was perfect. If you read my reviews of other places, you will see I love The Maurice and this is a good one. 5)3 lettuce was crisp and the portion size was LARGE. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I can guarantee I will be back for more and dinner next time. Do not miss The Clawson Steakhouse!

Yelp
12/27/23 I work for an independent senior community and wanted to take 10 residents to one of their favorite restaurants which was The Clawson Steakhouse. I contacted the restaurant to make a reservation for 4:00, Originally, I was told that we could not be accommodated. I was placed on a brief hold so the employee could check with her manager. The manager came to the phone. I explained that I was bringing a group of seniors, and her response was "will there be walkers all over the place?" I assured her there would not be and she agreed to confirm the reservation if we vacated by 6:00. We arrived at 4:00 pm sharp and were seated promptly. The problem that I have is when our orders were taken, and we asked for separate checks. We were told that we could not have separate checks which we were surprised because in the past this request was allowed. The group asked to speak with a manager which was granted. A women came to our table and said no as well. Soon a man came to our table and asked " Are you the people giving us a hard time?" The group was trying to explain how difficult it is for them to try to figure out who owes what. The man stated he was the owner and would have no problem throwing all of us out of his restaurant! He then proceeded to tell our group that if he split the bills, he would charge us an additional 22% along with tip and gratuity. WOW!!! I must add that the group I was with were former Business Owners, Executives, Vice Presidents of Corporations and former Police Officers. They are upstanding people who have become Senior Citizens who just wanted nothing more than to go to a restaurant that was once one of their favorites, and it is shameful how they were treated today! The restaurant was not busy at this time and the request they made could have and should have been granted! it really was a simple request. Suffice it to say, Clawson Steak House will be crossed off our list of places to go for dinner!
