"Although Cliffs make a mean flat white and the crumpet sliders are incredibly moreish, the food isn’t even the best thing about it. Before we even tried the crunchy hash browns and the creamy mustard aioli that came drizzled on top, we decided this was a cafe we would come back to. Inside a record store on Margate’s Northdown Road, Cliffs is a fun, lively space with an excellent soundtrack of old classics playing. Baristas sing along to Dolly Parton, the huge floor-to-ceiling window upstairs floods the room with natural light, and records are displayed along the walls like a music hall of fame. Families lounge on the sunken leather sofas and groups catch up over coffee on the big sharing table in the centre of the room." - Rianne Shlebak

Met 2 lovely people making a shrine when we got there. We joined in and had a blast. It's a lot smaller than you think, but please feel free to add to the shrine!

Awesome abandoned building. Park at the disk golf, follow path until you see a field with wooden fence.

The Cliffs in Philadelphia is a historic country house situated in East Fairmount Park. Built in 1753 by merchant Joshua Fisher, the great-grandfather of Joseph Wharton, it overlooks the Schuylkill River, offering a picturesque view just north of the Girard Avenue Bridge. This Georgian-style country house served as a summer retreat for the Fisher family and played a role during the Revolutionary War when Benjamin Franklin’s daughter, Sarah Franklin Bache, used it for her sewing group to support Continental soldiers. Although it has faced vandalism over the years, The Cliffs is a registered historic place, reflecting Philadelphia’s rich history and its preservation efforts.

My great grandparents once lived here in the 1940’s . He was the head of parks and rec for Fairmount Park . It was a beautiful old home built in the mid 1700’s . Last I saw it , it was intact but boarded up. That was well before it burned down.

Really cool spot with some dope graffiti + one of the most beautiful and secluded fields you will find in Philly. If you are trying to get there easily, you'll need to walk through the disc golf course. If you take the back back 9 (tee closest to the driving range) and hike through it, you'll see the field on hole 20. There is a path along the field and it will eventually take you out there and you can even "go in" the ruins. Feel free to ask any disc golfers for directions too

There must be a much easier way to get here than the way we took on foot. For the love of God- we ended up at a fence-one we could not follow along, over railroad tracks, ended up in a swamp which was similar to quicksand, and somehow after rolling down a hill we were in the middle of a disc golf game. (Very cool course by the way) but nobody could tell us how to get the heck out of there-they did however know where the cliffs were which we finally did find and they were very photogenic. Cool place and I love the history!
