Clerkenwell’s Best Restaurants | Where to Eat Near Farringdon Station | Eater London

"Clerkenwell feels like a much more logical home for Henry Harris’ cooking than Knightsbridge — with Smithfield market, St John and Club Gascon all around the corner, The Coach can happily situate itself at the centre of a ferociously greedy Venn diagram. The décor isn’t to everyone’s tastes, necessarily — “a little Home Counties” was one especially withering verdict — but there’s no arguing with the food. Up at the bar, a riotous merguez sausage roll makes for an ideal accompaniment to a pint (or an appropriately debauched aperitif); once at the table, the real challenge is finding things not to eat on a profoundly appetising menu. It’s hard to go wrong with any of it, but it’s in his way with slightly more uncommon beasts like duck and rabbit that Harris’ real genius shines through." - George Reynolds

London’s Best Chips and Fries | Where to Eat Incredible Chips in London | Eater London

"For Tim Hayward, the search is over. “London’s best chip,” he announced in his FT review of The Coach, Henry Harris’s first major opening since Racine bowed out in 2015. The Clerkenwell boozer-cum-dining room prides itself on executing classics faultlessly, which, yes, includes the chips — they’re Betjeman-burnished and have an exceptional, almost Kettle-like crunch, which gives way to a fluffy dream of an interior. The kitchen’s Franco-British mission statement finds its fullest expression when they’re paired with the onglet and bone-marow butter, but honestly, they’re good with everything." - Emma Hughes

The Best Pub Grub in London | Scotch Eggs, Sausage Rolls and Chip Butty | Eater London

"Chef Henry Harris will be relishing the reviews of The Coach thus far. The pub only opened in 2018 but has already become a scratching post for the savviest of diners. It is one of the better venues for Sunday lunch, and on weekday dinners, grilled sea bass is bedded with prawns and samphire; confit duck leg might arrive with delicate lentils and cream. It is generally a more upmarket proposition — the likes of pommes sarladaises and croziflette are testament to that. There’s plenty of rich, French cooking. But it’s also just as easy to sit down to a bowl of chips, or steamed prawns and bread, or calves brain on toast. Or all three and a bottle of house red. Nibbles at the bar are just as satisfying." - Josh Barrie

The burger and chips portions were very small but I’ll give credit that the burger was cooked well. Still juicy.Although Nothing to write home about. The two Ales were off which was a disappointment. Went for a Neck oil instead. I’m guessing the lady serving us was having a bad day as she was fairly miserable but she did what she needed to(which seemed to be a great effort) by pouring a couple of drinks.

Great pub with very kind and helpful staff !! They made sure the fish and chips we ordered didn't have any of my husband's intolerance. They offered a taste of the beers and ciders before we ordered one we liked. This pub is great !

A very cosy sports bar! Came specially to watch the Grand Prix. They were very kind to put the sound on the background! The vibe is very chill and the team on the floor is spot on: Every time you open the kitchen door you could only hear good vibes and amazing music :)) I would like to give special shout out to Kerris and Dom. Sound , funny and very welcoming! I do hope you get the right appreciation, you do set up the mood ( ps: the pub is gorgeous as well) Thank you again guys, see you next time!

Had a lovely meal here today after we paid we checked the bill and they had charged us 28.00 for a bottle of wine I only had a glass, they did refund so glad we went back! Also 17.00 service charged when we were sitting two steps from the bar it's a shame as food was lovely but because of this we wouldn't return . Thankyou for your reply below but we have tried to contact you as you said left contact number fir you to get back to us but no one has so will not be recommending you !

Lovely pub with air con, much needed right now. The interior is really nice and they serve a nice selection of beers. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the food was really good. The standard of some London pubs has blown me away and this is another to add to my list of fave pubs. I’’l be back. :)

A hidden Tardis off of Leicester Square! Looks small from the outside and the bar area is quite cosy but they've got two upstairs and one downstairs spaces for events. Small food menu with a good variety makes for quick decisions on a lunch break and food came out just as promptly. The vegan sandwich was delicious. Would definitely pop back in for a working lunch and would consider hiring a space for a meeting or social function when the need arose.

Must visit. We went twice on our recent trip to London. Creative and wonderfully prepared dishes (yes there is "pub" food but also selections worthy of a 5 star restaurant). Picture is the chicken and pancetta pie with pea pods and grilled potatoes/carrots. Service is professional and prompt. Valerio is attentive and knowledgeable. Located in the heart of the theater district on a quiet side street. Pre and post dining. GO!!! Enjoy.
