"Legendary music venue Conga Room, which was instrumental in bringing Latin music acts and other performers to L.A. Live, closed after 25 years. The venue was originally located in Mid-Wilshire but moved to Downtown in 2008. Founder Brad Gluckstein told Billboard that inflation, high interest rates, and a drop in Convention Center traffic led to a changing business model. March 27 was the club’s final night." - Eater Staff

Google
One of the best spots in downtown Los Angeles especially if you know how to dance salsa or wanna learn. Get your collared shirt and dancing shoes on because this place is a great spot to meet people. I’d definitely go back here again and shoutout to the host Joe for a great experience!

Google
I love coming to this place. They always have great music and I enjoy the separate areas for dancing. Plus I like when the dancers do their 3 minute performance. I would rather not have individuals with drinks on the dance floor only because there is always spills ( hazardous, specially with 5 inch heels)

Ivan Lazaro

Google
This is great if you want to dance to Salsa, hip-hop, and Latin. I felt like I was at a night club in Mexico since the majority of the people were Mexican. The place has three rooms. One of the small room was for hip-hop. The second room is a restaurant, but after 11:45 pm on Saturday, it becomes a salsa dance floor. The main floor plays Latin music on Saturday night . This is a great place if you come with a group. I don't recommend this place for single guys who are looking for girls since most of the girls are taken. The restaurant has a small menu, but the food is really good.

Google
Cover fee $25. One huge flooor Drinks are pricey. Id say about $20. For drinks ran me about $100 Outside patio for smoking. Music is good. Vibes are really good. Bouncer dont play around. If you uber they drop you off on the back side. By the yard house. You'd have to walk around or ask and you wont miss it.

Madam Dragonfly

Google
I really like that they have many security guys. DJs were not too bad but all the good new music we have and they have to go all the way back to old reggaetons, c'mon now.... They mixed cumbia and rock en español which were good but can u guys please make it little less long period in each genre? Gets boring to listen to same type of songs over and over. Definitely better than Mayan Theater club.

Google
This is my club and that’s it !!! Music is amazing I go to many live concerts too , aquí está el sabor latino !!!

Reece

Google
Went on a Saturday and surprisingly there was no line to get in. Cover was $20 (card or cash) and coat check is $6 (cash only). The vibe was amazing.

Google
Came here with the boys and had a blast. Great Spanish music and they have an outside patio in case you want to grab some air.

Yelp
Came here during a vacation in LA. It was interesting watch the club go from completely empty to relatively packed in about an hour. The layout is nice and not crowded. The path to the bathrooms is easy to get to and there is plenty of bouncers, staff, and security so you don't have to worry about that stuff. Some of the minuses are the repetitive songs since they use multiple DJs, the high priced entry fee, the expensive drinks that were not made too accurately, and the lack of additional room areas open despite the club clearly having separate club rooms in the layout. Overall, it is nice to try once since there aren't many similar clubs in downtown LA.

Yhus L.

Yelp
This place was not the vibe ! Bad drinks and bad dj Entrance was $20 (not bad) but probably will not return

Natalie M.

Yelp
Only been here 5 minutes and all of the staff we've encountered have been rude. Good way to kill the vibe. Friends, your club is empty... now we know why. Your receipt at the cashiers has a tip line, only tip I have for the cashier is that he better check his attitude. Edit: only the FOH people had attitude, the BOH were very friendly and kind.

Mary T.

Yelp
As you can tell by the other reviews, this place is as shady as shadiness gets. Multiple shootings over the years as well as stabbing and robberies. Security doesn't even care. Music is whatever and the food is actually cat food with a little salsa. Don't recommend at all.

Sean A.

Yelp
Drinks are good, the service is great, and the place looks nice. Their DJs are always good.

Lili J.

Yelp
Cam was very friendly at check in. Informed us of the policy's: would recommend coming back.

Sarah F.

Yelp
Bouncers are rude AF which whatever but the music sucked as well I swear they repeat the same shit. The bartenders act like you're inconveniencing them for just ordering...the lady that works in the bathrooms handing out paper towels was rude and as I said the music just kept repeating itself

Brandon S.

Yelp
They scam people out of their money at the bar. I ordered a Don Julio shot, a Hennessy shot, and a Paloma and I gave the bartender $100 and she gave me $20 back saying that I gave her $20 when in reality I gave her a blue strip. They didn't give us our alcohol. They're scam artists don't ever come here. They will scam you. Keep in mind this is after I paid $800 for VIP booth and bottle service. They don't give a shit about their customers.

Lorena S.

Yelp
Been here twice...once for New Years Eve and another time for just dancing. The New Year's Eve event was of course packed just like every other place. The bartenders moved quickly though which was appreciated. It was super hot in there though and wished there has been more air. I thought it was just that night but when I went the second time it was super hot in there too. With all the people dancing and sweating they need to crank that AC. I do love that they have a coat check. Waiting to get in I had my jacket on while I saw all these ladies freezing in their tiny dresses....can imagine they were still freezing at the end of the night.

Malenie L.

Yelp
We decided to give this place a try despite the previous reviews. Cover was not bad ($25/person) considering it's location. There is convenient parking which is also a plus. They played great music and the drinks were pretty good. The vibes were there and there was plenty of security. No issues while we were there. We thought the outdoor balcony was nice as you can take your drink out there and get some fresh air.

Sam G.

Yelp
Used to come here before covid and it was more fun then. Me and my cousins have been here a few times since and it has never been the same. Twice with VIP table service. The first time around summer of last year 2022. It was not busy then but we thought it was because of covid. Our server, forget her name but the tall girl with short hair was very sweet and helpful. The second time around Christmas of last year. Our server the shorter girl with the long dark hair. She was sweet and she had good vibes. The other days have been in general admision and it is nothing special anymore. Sadly it's just a typical club with the same music and decorations. It was more fun when the back rooms were open which haven't been open whenever we went. I would probably y only come back if i am at an event across the street or near by.

America L.

Yelp
This LA club has very rude staff and boring music. The club was very empty. The staff is rude once you walk in and treat you bad. I don't recommend

Frances B.

Yelp
Honestly, I only came here because I needed to let it out! Would I come here again? No. I know it's in LA oMG! You can find something better. Dj played same songs over n over! Ok I get it. Whatever, you can find a better place near there even if your entrance a little more. I'm sure You'll get you money back once some guy buys you drinks!!! FYI: Oh they have two dance floors too but they don't open at the same time. Two hours later they'll open it.

Yelp
AVOID AVOID AVOID I imagined if you spent enough in a place like this, you should receive great service...I was wrong. VIP tickets Bottle service Catering ...did not matter; the service, staff and overall vibe of this club is terrible. I'm really surprised they are still open for business. LA LIVE must be desperate for businesses and probably gives free rent to this place. I cannot imagine they are ever profitable. No money, no budget, no ability to hire good people. I bet the staff turnover is high. I can only imagine the nightmare behind the scenes. Clubs poorly managed like this are usually riddled with so many abuses (drugs, alcohol, sexual). It starts with bad management and filters down to ever staff member. If the staff were litigious they would get together, create a class action lawsuit and go after whichever company is unfortunate enough to insure this deplorable club. It seems like the only parasite hanging on to this place is the incompetent manager. Who knows what sort of pilfering he has going on there.

Jae A.

Yelp
25 dollars a person and false advertising tsk tsk tsk Junior I'm very disappointed As a bar manager to a bar manager you run a very disappointing club good sir from the phone call we were told 3 floors and n person it's a half floor with a barricade. You say you don't advertise 3 floors on your website, you say you don't have 3 floors on your flyers but the person answering the phone states 3 floors that are open !! You need to take customer service 101 over again and have your staff also included in that course for being in that venue for 5 mins I could tell yhe staff have no clue right from left horrible customer service period

Vanesa C.

Yelp
Don't go!!! Horrible experience we called in the afternoon to get some information for a birthday celebration they said there was three dance floors different music. When we arrived there was only one small dance floor not any different music. It wasn't at all what is said it was or advertised. With in 5 min we walked out and tried to get a refund not because it wasn't what we liked but because it wasn't what is was advertised to be. Junior the manager was not helpful at all didnt resolve the issue walked away after we should the phone call but because they didn't want to own there false narrative we could not get refined. A waste of money and poor customer service. Will not be coming back or recommending to anyone who visits.

Anabella C.

Yelp
How can I start? Ok first of all we pay $25 general admission, when we got upstairs we want to get a table, so they told us that for us to get a table we need a bottle service wish you pick if you want tequila bottle or vodka etc, we'll we say vodka. But we talk to the manager and we ask if he can refund our $75.00 that we paid at the entrance and he said nop. How stupid is that when we can spend more than $350.00 no brain. I'm glad I didn't get the table. The place is awful. People wear sneakers very tacky so thank you for not letting me spend the money at conga room.

Maritza M.

Yelp
Went last night (Friday) and had a great time. Drinks were on point and music was great. I really want to commend Sunny (I hope that's her name) because we had a stranger take 3 of our sweaters from where we left them by bar. (I know we should've used coat check) Sunny, girl from coat check and one other guy told us who the guy was as he tried coat checking them in but when he was told it $18 he decided to wait outside. Not sure who he was waiting for... Sunny later came to find us and said they had tracked the guy down outside and gotten our sweaters back for us. 10 stars for their customer service.

Sebastian G.

Yelp
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this nightclub due to the manager's complete lack of respect and rudeness. It's unfortunate that the very person who should set an example for hospitality displayed such behavior. The manager's attitude seriously impacted my enjoyment of the night, and I would caution others who are considering visiting. Customer service is paramount in the entertainment industry, and this establishment fell far short in that regard. Please if you're planning on experiencing the nightlife of amazing Los Ángeles, do not come here. Worse club in LA HANDS DOWN -5/5 club.

Dilya M.

Yelp
I love spanish music so my friends and I decided to go here without any specific occasion. I was a little hesitant at first because we're not hispanic and don't speak spanish thought people would look at us like we don't belong there lol. We had a table, manager was really nice to us and escorted to our table. Bottle ladies were so beautiful and nice. We could to the dance floor and leave our purses on the sofa and no one touched them

Kennedy P.

Yelp
If I could give this place a 0 star I would. It was my first time at this club and we went for a Fridays birthday. I was wearing a black dress, it was a little loose not tight, I'm not no size 2 but the female security checking bags immediately asked if I was pregnant and I was with other girls my size. So it caught me off guard that she asked me and only me that question. I told her no and she laughed and said I just asked because your a little big. I couldn't believe she laughed in my face and was that rude. I felt so personally attacked and Discriminated against because of my size.

Manifest S.

Yelp
So my sister had a birthday party there last weekend and there was just so much drama even after she had reserved a table 2 weeks prior . First off they would only let six of her friends get wristbands to sit at the table with her Leaving a bunch of her family members out. The girl who was taking the reservation for the table was EXTREMELY RUDE, completely ignoring myself and other family members when my sister was asking her to please give us a wristband she would look at us and look away and completely ignore us. Not sure what her deal was because none of us were being rude to her in anyway. Guess she was just on some power trip. Someone much nicer and kinder needs to replace her. She had dark hair maybe under 5,6 ft tall. Looked Hispanic or middle eastern. To top it all off every one had to pay 25 dollars just to get in because they don't offer a guestlist. I have worked in the Hollywood nightlife for many years and I find it ridiculous and disrespectful that they don't offer a guestlist especially if your party is buying a table and they make girls pay $25 to get in when they're already going to spend at least $ 100 on drinks! I read the reviews prior to going there and I heard mostly bad things about this place but I still gave it a chance and because it was my sister's birthday I still came and spent my money but I would never go back there again. I don't recommend this place whatsoever. Kindness goes a long way. Watch how you treat others. Karma is REAL. Music was great and that's about it !!

Noesh H.

Yelp
Attended a corporate holiday party here reserved for all Deloitte personnel and +1's. It was a good venue with 3 separate bars! Excellent location, for it was very busy and upbeat. There is also an outdoor patio area plus a seating area by one of the bars. Parking is on the bottom floor and is $10 for every 2 hours.

Tatiana V.

Yelp
The @CongaRoom has something for everyone!! THU: Concerts almost every week FRI / SAT: Multiple rooms (Top 40 - EDM - Reggaeton - Spanish Rock) SUN: NEW Tropical Nights (Salsa, Bachata, Merengue Guest List - Bottle Service - Party Buses 626-600-6377 Tatiness Entertainment

Jeanette P.

Yelp
Great service! best vibe!! Went for my sister's birthda last month we cant wait to go back.

Cathy C.

Yelp
We (total of 4 of us, all girls) went on Friday 12/17. We asked for 3 drinks, and charged us $100!!!! Regular margarita, sex on the beach and Malibu with pineapple juice. How is that even possible? $33 for one drink? They're taking advantage of people, and when you question them they tell you it's because we put a real expensive tequila.

Sylvia G.

Yelp
I would give this place zero stars if I could! False advertising! This place only has one very small dance floor. $25 per person, $12 coat check, and watered down drinks. This place is a joke and has a nominal vibe, the mix of EDM and Taylor Swift in to the mix which kills the vibe, go somewhere else, don't waste your night out on this place. This place is not packed at all nor is it popular. After ten minutes in this club we were ready to go and a lot of other patrons turning around to go somewhere else when we were waiting to be refunded our money, which we were receiving the runaround of they need to "check their call logs" to verify whether we spoke to someone about the three floors of music they advertise. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! Spoke to Junior the Manager and he's a waste of time, don't do bottle service here and don't waste your money here, there's so many other places in LA to see, SKIP this place!

Paul G.

Yelp
Never go to conga room. We came here for my girlfriends coworkers bday and we paid extra to come in. They charged us for a table for "6 people" but let other people in at the other table that paid more then 6. I couldn't even take a picture with the bday girl because "I was leaning over onto the table" worst club in LA by far. Don't go ever

Liz P.

Yelp
My rating for this is solely for the venue itself and not the party I attended there, which was actually kinda lame :(. There are a few bars throughout the venue and also a few quieter places to sit, which was nice - there was an outside area overlooking the main LA Live courtyard-esque area, and also a side indoor seating area which was less loud than the main dance floor area. I'd be curious to know what type of events they usually host here, the event I attended was the closing party of my blogging conference but I'm sure they have dance nights, etc. usually.

Stephanie V.

Yelp
Had fun went with family a lot of dancing amazing alcoholic drinks and i love alcohol, the only thing that annoyed me was the same songs being played over and over again but other than that 100% recommend this place if you want to get your groove on

Tikitiki R.

Yelp
I had a bad first experience. Sadly all the drinks/cocktails I wanted to order the bartenders didn't know how to make them. I was exited since it's a nightclub in LA and very popular. I requested a pisco sour (no) French 75 (no) sazerac (no) Vesper (no). I then ordered a Cadillac and the bartender gave me an "adios mother" .

Rachael B.

Yelp
Perhaps one of the best nights out in LA! There was no line to get in around 11. The staff from bouncers to bartenders were all very nice- especially our bartender who made a delicious drink. Drinks are about $10-12, so not bad. The music selection was fantastic! The crowd was a great mix of people just there to have fun. I LOVE that they have a pathway through the club to get to the bathroom so people are constantly bumping into you. The club was packed but had no problems. I will definitely be coming back!! I'd recommend getting on the guest list though.. cover was $20 at the door.

Joe P.

Yelp
Its Mediocre Monday again!!! I dropped by here for a business gig, that featured a Battle of the Bands. I am a Commercial Banker, and I work with a lot of Attorneys, CPAs, Investment Bankers, et al. I was very impressed with the talent amongst these Trusted Advisors to businesses. The Conga Room is in LA Live (DTLA) between Katsuya and Rock & Fish. However, what I wasn't impressed with was the club itself. We were offered pizza, egg rolls, tuna tartare, and grilled shrimp. All of the food was mediocre. In addition, the ventilation wasn't great. It was a warm night, the club is upstairs, and you could smell peeps body odor. Our group didn't fill up the club, so I can't fathom what the smell would be like if the club was packed. BTW, I put cologne on before I arrived, so it wasn't me! Lastly, the mens room was a mess. The paper towel dispensers weren't working, and there was water on the floor, The positives was the stage, the acoustics and the bartenders. However, I would be hard pressed to come here on a regular night. There are better clubs in DTLA like the Edison, Exchange or the Crocker. BTW, parking in the structure below will cost you $30 (no-valet), so beware!

Cayce O.

Yelp
Maria, the Lady at the front collecting covers and checking the guest list was a total joke! we were there as stated on their site from "10PM - 11PM" for free entrance... she dismissed me after I told her we were on the guest list, and it was 10:12pm "GUEST LIST IS OVER AT 10PM" she kept reciting. "its on your site tho" I replied "SHOW ME, SHOW ME ON THE SITE WHERE IT SAYS THAT" I showed her, but then, she added that she needed a ticket to scan. Look, I know you are not going to die because I wont ever come here again, and I know that you will continue to live your life being a complete bitch. I am sole here to leave you my 2 cents, and this 1 star review. That's all!

nayeli m.

Yelp
Music is good the people just aren't it, also me and my girls got such a sketchy feeling in our gut while being there, most guys try to offer you there drinks instead of buying you a new one at the bar so big red flag. We had a random girl come up to us asking why we were there and who else we came w and if she could dance w us. Cuz she was alone...We ask her why she came alone and she said oh never mind bye. And went straight to these guys pointing at us while having a convo W them . Long story short go in a big group don't go with only 2/3 friends.

Art V.

Yelp
Let me sum this up. Sleezy, crowded, poorly made drinks, horrible service, and overrated. Tip to bartenders... Brush up on your skills, I've had well drinks better than the junk you're serving there. Definitely not a place I would recommend and/ or visit again. Was very disappointing. Security personnel is great. They are there doing their job well and are very respectful. This review does not include you. Thank you for everything.

Chocolat A.

Yelp
This is getting ridiculous. We went to a birthday celebration with a group around 20 people. We arrive early, so we don't have to wait on the line. Everything was fine in the beginning, the music, a warm welcome from couple dancers. Until we start ordering drinks. My good friend order two regular margaritas and paid $60 for TWO margaritas. I told him, the bartender made a mistake or something. We went to talk to the bartender, and he said "it is not a mistake, I gave you a good tequila." My friend asked for a regular margarita from the beginning. They are taking advantage of the people that wants to have a little fun. You have to clear with this bartenders. They are trying to take advantage of the guest.

Luis R.

Yelp
This is the best night club in LA, not up for debate if you ask me, you'll find the best customer service and better looking people in the latin culture...

Natasha G.

Yelp
Love this place!! Was in search of a Latin club, and this one had been recommended numerous times. Came here Day after thanksgiving expecting it to be slow and it was crowded! They had free admission and a free drink for the first 300 people. The club is classy, and well maintained. No slippery dance floors, as facilities does an amazing job of constantly cleaning in the midst of a crowded dance floor. The security is on top of it, and they make sure to make you feel safe. This place reminds me of a New York style club, with a patio and a nice view of La live. Great space for parties, date night or just cruising alone; you will find a group to dance with!

Maria B.

Yelp
I'm sooooo disappointed with the bar rules. BEWARE!!! They are ripping ppl off left and right. Sooo... if you spend more then $50 at the bar they include gratuity but what happens is when you pay they only give you the bill with the total. I was there on Thursday for the guayacan concert and I happened to ask for the full receipt. Wow!!!! Come to find out the tip was already included on top of what I had tipped. They have a small sign on the back door. No one can see it not even a person with 20/20 vision. It is dark. It's bullshit!!! If this happened to me, can you imagine how many others this is happening to but they aren't even telling ppl ahead of time. The manager offered to give me a free drink but what good was that gonna do me if they were already closing. I'm sooo disgusted by this place. The drinks aren't cheap, either.

Jannie M.

Yelp
It's been years since I didn't come here, just because I had a bad experience my first time coming here. But I do have to say that it went way better than before. I came here on a Saturday night, it was off the chain. way nicer people this time, more professional. We came between 9-10pm since we were on the guest list we didn't want to pay the cover charge. It was nice and smooth. We also checked in our coats, I actually recommend that so you won't be carrying it around since it will get hot, I believe it was $3.00 bucks. Remember there are three dance floors the main floor is where you first enter, they have bottle service too. The second floor is where they usually have tables at for dinner is where they mostly keep playing bachata, merengue, cumbia and much more, the third floor is where they mostly play hip hop and r&b. There is also a smoking area in the outside patio, there are three full bars the bartenders were great and nice. Restrooms, surprisingly there wasn't a line all night since there are many stalls which is awesome. $$$: pretty average price like all places. Pretty good night overall.

Jazz J.

Yelp
Always a fine time here ! Live their intimate small artist concerts the prices are descent for their performance. I think I paid $40+max $50 and it was great. Of course you need to pay for parking considering you are in DTLA. I been there a couple of times between Friday's and Saturday's and once for their concert event on a Friday and all the times the experience was great ! The vibes and the people there have always been good no animosity no hate just everyone there trying to have a great time. Drinks are pricy and not strong lol but what can you expect aren't all clubs stingy with their alcohol.

Eldy M.

Yelp
This place SUCKS for 25 bucks DO NOT COME if you wanna dance go elsewhere. I thought there would be live music and the environment of people that don't know how to dance fed into my review.

Kathy C.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to go dancing in LA! Multiple dancing floors. Latin vibes and a mix of hip hop too. I've been going here for years. I cannot wait to go back once this virus passes and conga room reopens!

Row F.

Yelp
This club has really gone downhill....they let just about anyone in ....sandals, flats, socks tennis, shoes, barefoot...you name it you can see it all @conga..... We even seen some youngsters all wasted throwing bottle caps at people on the dance floor with a mysterious brown glass bottle they sure ass hell had not purchased inside conga(props for sneaking it in just goes on to tell how much their security sucks).

Ovidiu G.

Yelp
Garbage! Went there with friends an at one point wanted to get some drinks and the girl in front said I was too close to her. The place was full. I tried to move away but the bouncers came and moved me out...it was ridiculous! I didn't get a chance to state my case...I was just guilty somehow...I wasn't even close to the girl...it was full bar...I'm never gonna go there again!

Deian K.

Yelp
We had a good time here last night w bottle service. My only recommendation is that the DJs play some salsa & bachata. They only played reggaeton, merengue, rock mexicano, cumbia ... NO salsa or bachata between 10:30 pm & 1:30 am until we asked for it and Zonik played 3 bachata songs. Here's the deal: we come to The Conga Room on Fridays for of the mix of styles. If we wanted only bachata | or only salsa - we know where to go (The Granada | Steven's). I will be reluctant to return on Fridays until I hear that bachata & salsa are back in the mix. DJ Zonik is the BEST!

Barret T.

Yelp
This is a Latin club. I went for my good friend's birthday and had a great time. All of the music played was in Spanish and although I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to Spanish music, I found the music really good. It was a mix of regaeton and salsa and pop and God knows what else but all of the music had a beat and it was perfect for the atmosphere. People were dancing and having a great time. The place was packed and hot and humid - but what do you expect? It's a club! The DJ was from the Latin radio station on this Friday night. I think it was 98.3. The performers from the club did a few dance numbers and came to shake it with the people who had their own tables. One dude was in an iron man suit. The table service costed standard but the prices were reasonable considering that this is in LA Live. It's a sight to behold if you haven't been yet.

Regina O.

Yelp
I decided to give this place a second chance, and I purchased a $250.00 ticket for me and my friend to see Gilberto Santa Rosa. I enjoyed very much his music. He is the best! However this place was worst than the first time. I waited on line "a VIP line" for more than a hour, (what VIP, right?). They couldn't find the bracelets. Every single person, since the security at the door, all the way to our seats (the smallest seat ever) was very rude, an unprofessional. There were two charges in my card: one for a "service fee", ?? and the other one for "gratuity". I understand gratuity but service fee?? I don't think, I will be visiting this place again.
