The roast chicken here is truly a highlight – tender, juicy, and full of flavor, paired beautifully with a side of silky spinach. The escargots, however, were less impressive, with a sharp acidity and a hint of brininess that didn’t quite work for me. But the biggest surprise? The fries! Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, tossed with plenty of Parmesan and herbs – seriously addictive.

This restaurant is a must try! The flatbread, seafood tower, and pesto pasta were absolutely divine! Highly recommend their version of the French 75, it was tart but delicious! Don't skip on dessert, the sticky toffee pudding is unreal. Can't wait to come back so soon!

Google
Miguel the bartender was great! I love that their happy hour starts at 3:30. The food was amazing, probably the best truffle fries I've ever had. I had 2 cocktails and they were both phenomenal! 10/10 can't wait to come back!

Google
We had an incredible dinner tonight! Highlights include fabulous summer cocktails, grilled octopus, corn burrata salad, and we enjoyed their peppercorn filet special with blue cheese potatos for a main course! We were too full to try dessert, but our waiter told us they are amazing and we can’t wait to come back again to try! Lovely restaurant and ambience with great service.

Amazing dinner! Sat at the bar and Miguel (the bartender) was fantastic. Great service, amazing drink mixer (ask for the special Pisco Sour) and sit back, enjoy! The food was delicious, ambience beautiful, overall great experience. We will come back often. Thank you, Miguel and the whole Consulate team.

We celebrated our post-wedding dinner at The Consulate on March 1st with 19 of our closest friends and family and honestly, it was perfect. The food was incredible, but what made the night truly special was the people. Tonchi and our server Milan Iloski were warm, kind, and so attentive. We’re really grateful for how genuinely they took care of us. The whole team made us feel right at home. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and full of good energy. You could really feel the love in the room. Choosing The Consulate for this night was one of the best decisions we made. Huge thanks to the entire team. We’ll remember this evening forever.

Google
I made a reservation to celebrate an engagement and they were so accommodating. The manager and staff were all so kind and wished us congrats. They were very helpful throughout the process and the ambiance is exactly what we were going for. The food was great as always and we're were seated in the back corner which they were happy to accommodate as requested. This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city and they truly delivered. We can't wait to keep coming back!

Yelp
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was exceptional, and the service was above and beyond from Biljana. We felt right at home and like we had lived in the neighborhood for years, even though we are just passing through. Highly recommend the Short Rib Cavatelli and make sure Biljana is working the bar when you go.

Yelp
I came here for my bday. The vibe of the restaurant was absolutely stunning however the service was a little hit and miss. First of all it took a very long time for the food to come up. When the food was up we had to wait and asked for the needed utensils. For example, we ordered a French onion soup and they just brought us the food without any spoon. Same went for the tuna tartare, we were waiting for our forks but ended eating it with the little condiment spoon from the oysters tower. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to eat with my fingers or a knife/fork. We asked for the spoon and the waitress totally forgot about it until later. I'm not sure if it was because the waitress was overwhelmed with the full house of guests or she was just inexperienced. The food overall was ok. Nothing really stood out and gave us a wow factor that we will want to come back a second time.

Yelp
Date night at The Consulate, a trendy upscale eatery serving French and American cuisine, was a delightful experience. We began with a refreshing Cesar salad featuring crisp Romaine lettuce and a Caesar dressing with a subtle anchovy hint that elevated the dish. My girlfriend savored the tuna tartare, describing the sea's essence, though I must admit, I prefer cooked seafood. Next, we indulged in steak frites and truffle fries, which were average. However, the pesto reganetti and French onion soup were must haves. The pesto reganetti was bursting with flavor, while the French onion soup was hearty and satisfying. To satisfy our sweet tooth, we opted for an apple tart and a pineapple upside down cake. The apple tart ok, while the pineapple upside down cake was so irresistible that it was devoured before I could even take a picture. Overall, The Consulate is an ideal spot for a date night. The attentive waiters provided excellent recommendations and made our dining experience truly memorable.

Yelp
Our party of three had a decent meal at The Consulate on a recent Monday night... The place itself has a really cool vibe... It's French Brasserie meets Modern American Steakhouse vibes and It's perfect for a business meal. We shared a nice bottle of red wine and a dozen oysters, a Crab Cake, Filet, Steak Frites, Brussels Sprouts and a Caesar Salad amongst the three of us. While it was all fine, none of the food blew me away. The service was good but not overly attentive. Given the fact that there are so many incredible dining options in NYC, I probably would not return.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and the food was very good. The French fries are crispy and delicious. The pasta was rich and extremely tasty. The dining experience was odd. The waiters are very gung-ho to clear the table and remove any glassware. It's odd and makes the dinner feel very rushed.

Yelp
We spent the entire warm and sunny December morning with our twins (age 4) in Central Park. Other more "family" restaurants too crowded, so we decided we'd try a French brunch at the Consulate, which I adore. They understood they had to be on very good behavior! The pineapple juice was a hit. The gigantic pancakes with berries and whip cream were a homerun. Husband devoured the hangover burger (he wasn't!) and I enjoyed the amazing Croque Monsieur with fabulous salad. Their fries are so crispy and divine. Although the Consulate doesn't even have a children's menu, the host and servers were so kind and attentive to our granddaughters. We arrived with scooters, and the host tucked them away. We sat in their enclosed outer area and the twins felt grown up. Food was bountiful and perfect. The twins loved the Christmas tree and even the pretty wallpaper in the bathroom! A wonderful Christmas season memory for all now. Merci to the superb staff at The Consulate!

Yelp
We stopped here for Sunday brunch after a visit to the AMNH. We were warmly greeted and seated quickly for our big group. Love the inside; it's a mix between classic and modern. The music choices were also spot on. Service may not have been an effusive server, but he was definitely efficient and accurate. Big big kudos to the staff who kept refilling our water glasses MULTIPLE times without prompting. The food varied from pretty good to great. I had an avocado toast with "bacon" (which was really canadian bacon). The avocado was particularly fresh and the scrambled eggs were still a bit moist and rich which is how they should be done. The mixed greens were simple yet tasty. The nutella waffle was also quite good with terrific fresh strawberries and blueberries. But the lobster eggs benedict was a bit of a miss, with the lobster on the side of it and just didn't have that fresh lobster feeling. You're better off with the standard eggs benny. Others enjoyed the french toast and the burrata waffle (with prosciutto). For the price point though, we should expect even more. If you're going to charge a premium then you've got to nail it 24/7. This fell a bit short. Still, it was a great choice for Sunday brunch and would gladly go back again.

Yelp
Really delicious meal with friendly attentive service! My favs were the truffle mushroom flatbread, French onion soup and consulate burger with crispy fries. Also the special uni small scallops squid ink pasta was very creamy & flavorful, it was $48. Came here for early Mother's Day celebration, for an earlier dinner 5pm Saturday then started to get really busy. Apps and entrees came out in a decent time but then dessert took a while to come, like 20 minutes - it was just cheesecake & tiramisu which we thought would be quick. Overall it was a nice meal but very pricey.

Yelp
Came for dinner here with my friends, after a colleague at work recommended it. This restaurant opened recently, and they really paid attention to all the details. We shared appetizers, and everything (except mussels, Did not try, not a fan of it) we had was delicious. Food had prefect flavor balance, and the texture of the Scallops Tartare was my favorite. The ambiance is just perfect for a nice dinner with friends, but also has the feel that you can come here on a date (which I would probably do, great way to impress). The service was just the way I love it, engaging enough, but never felt disturbed. They really pay attention to details!

Yelp
This place was solid. Really good food, ambience and service, however I wasn't blown away. It was all incredibly delicious and satisfying but for the price I expected a little more. My favorite dishes were the filet mignon and the short rib cavatelli. They definitely have their meat figured out. I didn't love the mushroom flatbread. The flatbread in general was not high quality. The gnocchi was okay but again nothing crazy. THE DRINKS WERE SO GOOD. Overall I probably wouldn't go again but I did have a nice time and would recommend it to a friend if they were in the area (especially for drinks.)

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere, solid cocktails, quality service, and tasty food. What's better than that?

Yelp
Came here for lunch with a friend and we both loved the exterior and ambience as we sat outside. The croque madame was a little oily but still great and my friend also enjoyed the eggs Benedict. Service was a little slow but it might have just been a busy time

Yelp
Visited for Restaurant Week. I love that the host offers to take your coat and hang it upon entrance, very classy. The ambiance is lovely, dim lighting, not too loud, beautiful decor. We were seated in the back, along the wall, where the tables seem closer together, not uncomfortably so, but enough that you can hear other conversations easily. The RW menu had fantastic options, I had the Winter Burrata to start (mouth watering!) and the scallops with celeriac in a beurre blanc sauce as the main course. To finish the meal, blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. It was divine. My water glass was never empty, the courses came out with perfect timing and the dishes were cleared quickly. We felt no pressure to hurry, it was an all around delightful dining experience. Highly recommend! If I had one critique it's that I would love to see non-alcoholic wines on the menu. There were mocktails available but I'd really love to see more restaurants with extensive wine lists offering a nonalcoholic option!

Yelp
Tried the Tuna Niscoise salad Grilled octopus salad When the two salads came out, I was overwhelmed by a seafood smell but surprisingly they both tasted good. The tuna steak was nicely cooked and tasted fresh. Truffle fries - came out without truffle so they just took it back and drizzled truffle oil on it Pork Tacos - 2 very big tacos with the double tortilla Gnocchi with Truffle - was mostly cream Steak Frites - main reason for the rating is that the steak was completely well done (instead of medium rare) and the sauce was bland yet salty at the same time. Completely overpriced at $51

Yelp
Great food and service Menu is creative with options for all different tastes and dietary concerns.

Yelp
There aren't too many upscale French restaurants on the Upper West Side, so I appreciate the modern French and American cuisine at the Consulate, which opened in 2019. The restaurant does change its menu frequently and offers daily specials with dishes from around the world. The Consulate's decor includes a dining room decorated with wooden tables, leather chairs, photographs, large mirrors, and antique clocks on the wall. I consider it a comfortable space, perfect for a breakfast/brunch with friends. I ordered the Consulate Breakfast, which costs $25. This dish has elements from both Spanish and French cuisine. The smell of sizzling crackling bacon and freshly poached eggs feels therapeutic to me. This breakfast offers two different types of meat, thick sliced bacon and pork sausage. Additionally, it has two eggs prepared any style with potatoes and a salad. This order makes for a deliciously filling breakfast. I loved the runny yolks of my poached eggs with the sweetness of the bacon/sausage and the softness of the potatoes. The salad was a refreshing touch to an otherwise heavy meal. All in all, a perfectly nice breakfast option on the UWS.

Yelp
The cocktails are where it's at! Service and vibes were great as well. We also had some food. While the food was good, I would go back for the drinks. Cocktails we tried were touch of ginger, miss O'Hara, French 85 and consulate old fashioned. All were good but I am partial to the touch of ginger because I love ginger. Yum! Our group shared the Caesar salad, watermelon and tuna salad, rosemary fries, and onion soup to start. For mains we had the sautéed skate, short rib cavatelli, gnocchi, burger and steak frites. The gnocchi was very good, mushrooms were balanced well with the sauce. The onion soup was also a crowd pleaser. Excellent portion size and flavor. I thought the cavatelli pasta was overdone and slightly chewy, short rib was good but a little salty for my taste. Also the sauce was a tad gloopy.

Yelp
Gorgeous spot on the UWS for a date. The vibes are sensual and elegant. Food is fresh and of great quality. We ordered the following: 1) The charred Octopus-- extremely tender. The flavour profile is scrumptious! It was sweet and tart but nothing overpowered the octopus. 2) The mussels-- the mussels were juicy and had an amazing texture. Loved the bread they pair with it and you can dip into the broth. 3) Clam linguine-- this had a very strong garlic flavour, which I loved. But you're not a fan of garlic, skip this one. We also ordered a side of fries and a side of broccolini. Both were pretty good, but I would focus on the entrees and appetisers instead. Love going to this spot and always will go back.

Yelp
Love the ambiance, the food and service! Everything was delicious and the drinks were great! My favorite is the rib eye steak, juicy and tender and the green sauce was amazing! The smoked salmon flatbread was delicious too and must try! The mocktails were citrusy and sweet! The molten lava cake was a bit dense , I wish it was hot so the chocolate could be oozing out of it when I cut into it. Overall this is a solid place for steak and flatbreads! The drinks were decent too! @nyc_food1e

Yelp
I was here with a group of eight yesterday. The food was delicious, the service perfection. What was even more wonderful is the fact we were able to have an amazing time for four hours straight. Granted, it was a Tuesday afternoon and they were not very busy, but management let us hang the entire time without a single word about how long my group was sitting there occupying our table. They were so kind and gracious, and I can't express just how great it was. A huge thank you to the management and staff for making our meal there something special!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Amazing brunch, the salmon avocado toast in particular was a standout. Thank you Bibi!

Yelp
A friendly French Cafe! I came here for lunch a couple of times and I find some of the items to be hit or miss - all the French items are a hit! I recommend the mussels and the smoked salmon Flatbread as well as the creme Brulee. For drinks I like the 3 greens I love the space, lots of smaller cute tables and laid back vibe. Waitstaff is helpful and gives recommendations on size of dishes. You can sit for a little longer and it's more relaxed in terms of service.

Yelp
First time at the consulate and I'm so satisfied with my entire experience! 10/10 for service- came for brunch and it was busy but great Sunday vibes. The server was always making sure we were taken care of! 10/10 for the food. Ordered the cast iron pancake (similar consistency to almost a Japanese pancake and crispy on the bottom!h), steak and eggs, Cesar salad (to die for) and the consulate breakfast and all were outstanding. LOVED the bacon. Cocktails looked great! Had a mocktail and it was actually just as satisfying as a regular cocktail! Not just juice like other places. Will be returning again!! Thank you so much!!

Yelp
It's beautiful inside! Service was amazing. Octopus appetizer was delicious; friend had a celery root and apple soup appetizer that also tasted great. Halibut with eggplant curry was tasty, although I think the halibut itself could use some salt, but it was cooked perfectly with a flaky and tender texture. Friend's steak I had one delicious bite of seemed excellent. Bacon brussels sprouts were also very good. Chocolate lava cake for two was UNREAL. INCREDIBLE.

Yelp
I thought for sure I had reviewed this place but I guess not. About a year ago, while strolling through the Upper West Side, we walked by The Consulate and thought "oh that looks nice". When the restaurant we were walking to turned out to be full, we strolled back and it looked like there were tables available here so we stopped and snagged an outside table. Drinks and food were tasty. The service was friendly but they were likely short staffed as it took time to be able to put in orders, get food and especially get the check and pay it. But that's a struggle everyone is facing these days so I'm not going to ding them for that. I'd love technology that would (like I've seen at Applebee's of all places) that let you pay the bill at your table so you can leave when you're done rather than waiting 20 minutes to pay the bill.

David F.

Yelp
I would not come here to celebrate a special occasion as no one seemed to care that it was our anniversary. I made it abundantly clear when I made the reservation and when we arrived that we were celebrating our anniversary. Nothing about this dinner felt special, except the expensive check. The food was okay, but not good enough to make up for poor service, we won't be returning here again.

Yelp
My boyfriend took me here for Valentine's Day and I want to give this place more stars but the only thing was just the service- which I'll get into in a bit. We were greeted at the door by a friendly host, the entrance was packed with people, some patrons leaving while others were waiting to be seated as well. They seated us pretty quickly at our table out on the patio. The tables were all squished together and I think they did this to seat as many people as possible. Once we were seated, someone gave us water and we sat there unattended for 35 minutes and were going to leave after 45 min- we understood how busy it was since it was Vday and felt bad the waiting staff was overwhelmed. Finally, after 40 minutes of waiting, our waitress finally greeted us and apologized for the long wait, they were overbooked and understaffed. The only reason I'm giving this an average score was just the service, maybe try and not to overbook a place where people are waiting more than 20 minutes at their table! Now on to the food. They did offer a prefixed Valentine's day menu but we decided not to participate. We ordered a bunch of apps and just shared everything: 1. Brussels And Kale Salad (V, GF, D): refreshing and surprisingly filling 2. Miso Eggplant (V, GF): really sweet tasting and cooked well. 3. Bowl Of Mussels (D): obsessed with the flavor of the soup and the bread was amazing to dunk it in. 4. Hand Cut Steak Tartare For Two: one of my favorite dishes. At the end of the night, all the patrons were offered a free rose with the Valentine's day dinner, which was a really cute sentiment for the diners.

Yelp
- HIGHLY recommend for restaurant week - I got the steak tartare, steak frites, and creme brulee - Everything was good - I loved the skinny fries - The inside decor is super cute and reminds me of a cafe in Paris - They had a musician for most of the evening and he really added to the atmosphere - Perfect for dates, small group dinners - Great service

Yelp
Food started off good with the french onion soup and wild mushrooms and truffle flatbread! I would recommend them if you love cheese. Sadly, we were pretty disappointed by our main entrees. We ordered the steak frites and linguine with clams. The linguine was okay but the portion was very small, not that worth. As for the steak frites, I personally wasn't a big fan of their sauce or cut of meat.

Yelp
The Consulate is an idyllic restaurant right off of Central Park! With an amazing ambience/decor and even better food, it's hard to find a classier spot in the city. Their unique cocktails were truly remarkable and could be the center of any show, stand alone. Everything from the truffle flatbread to the short rib cavatelli to the miso eggplant was bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. The staff were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable and the whole experience was incredible from start to finish. I've already made plans to return!

Yelp
Another yet amazing dining experience at The Consulate last week I visited their Midtown location and I enjoyed it so much, I have decided to visit UWS location and I am glad I did. Delicious food, great service, beautiful ambiance, I just can't get enough of it.
google avatar

Ingrid P.

Yelp
I must get out more, especially in my welcoming UWS community that I've resided for 36+ years. I generally get in my car & head to NJ to enjoy. My daughter was in town, who grew up here on the UWS all her life, and she reminds me what I'm missing. Oh boy, was she right! We booked a reservation to have breakfast at Consulate Restaurant (NE Corner of 85th Street & Columbus Ave). It was a dining experience that warmed my heart, spending quality time with my Princess, who is now a Dr of Law. Breaking bread, always excellent conversation, filled with laughter and Love , and getting first class service & hospitality from the entire staff. Served us delicious pancakes, egg's & sausage, chased with a glass of Mimosas. Cheers it was! Consulate should be your 1st choice list, if you're looking for beautiful ambiance, gracious hospitality and staff; with a mic drop of DELICIOUS entrees. Book now‼

Yelp
Welcoming atmosphere with a touch of humble class. Good dishes with attention to detail. A return spot for us

Yelp

Yelp
This is such a gorgeous restaurant with amazing service. We dined to celebrate a special occasion and we were taken care of very well. I have a huge sweet tooth and the cream brûlée is one of the best I've had in the city. It's really fun to share multiple items on the table, because it's hard to decide on one main entree each. I would recommend the steak tartare (for two) to start and a ribeye (for two) for a main meal with a French onion soup. Will be back, soon!
google avatar

Echo L.

Yelp
The prices are way too high. Like no lobster pasta should cost $50. No bowl of onion soup should cost $21. It's daylight robbery. Down the street at the French Roast a great bowl of onion soup costs $12. The prices at consulate are just unrealistic. And honestly the food isn't that great to warrant it.

Yelp
Had such a lovely time with my girlfriends here. The inside is dimly lit but very chic decor - perfect for a date night. They also had a jazz band playing on a Monday night which I thought was fun. I opted in for the restaurant week menu. For my starter I got the escargot, they were very buttery and garlicky which I like. for my main I ordered the steak frites, and it was cooked very well. I really enjoyed the perform sauce. It also came with a dessert, I chose the apple tart and it was just like an apple pie. Overall very happy with the food. They also had really delicious cocktails and decent wine selections. Our server was also really attentive and kind (and goofy and made us laugh which we appreciated). Would definitely recommend for a nice occasion or potential date night!

Yelp
Located on the Upper West Side, the restaurant features a French American cuisine, wich offers Brunch, Lunch, Happy Hour and Dinner. They will open soon another restaurant in Midtown, Manhattan, let's stay tuned. WHAT I ORDERED: DRINKS HAPPY HOUR Oui Mademoiselle Your Love I King Rising Sun HAPPY HOUR Options Steak Tartare Escargot (French Snails) Wild mushrooms Flatbread APPETIZER Chinese chicken salad French onion soup & DESSERT Upside down pineapple cake DRINKS & FOOD REVIEW Beautiful drinks! My favorite was : Oui Mademoiselle , made with Blackberry purée,Vodka, St Germain, rosemary and sparkling wine. They do have a great selection of cocktails and wines.  Dishes were all prepared exceptionally and I can't say wich one was my favorite, Escargot were fresh and steak tartare as well, a cheesy French onion soup! Omg! Delicious! Dessert?!.. just 3 words: W.O.W! A moist cake with the pineapple juice reduction...No, no, no...is a must to try!. SERVICE & ATMOSPHERE    Top notch ! Ivan ( Manager) Thank you for all the suggestions and your professionalism.  Very appreciated! BB (Waitress) absolutely adorable, in my opinion they are great!, very attentive,  friendly and courteous with high good vibes, that usually in the hospitality industry is rare to find out nowadays,  sorry, if I'm rude, but is the sad true, but when you get a good service we need to recognized and of course to let them know that they are doing very well!. Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, vintage-modern decor,  checkerboard flooring, fresh plants and dim lights make the perfect scenario for any special occasion.

Yelp
Flavorless, boring, low-effort food. Worst food we've had in a long time. So disappointing. Nice staff though.

Yelp
Visited NYC during the holidays and actually ate here for 2 dinners during my trip. We had Christmas dinner at the Consulate and another time at the beginning of the new year, both seated in their covered outdoor patio section of the restaurant. Service was amazing both times and the food was delicious! Great cocktails and a variety of options. On Christmas I had the filet mignon ($51) and it was delicious. Very tender and big piece of steak. Others in my party had the chicken, grilled artichoke, bowl of mussels, and cheeseburger. They made this dinner exceptionally special and I will definitely remember eating here on Christmas. Make sure to try their desserts as well like the pineapple upside down cake....super good! The second time we ate here I had the Korean style steak, which had a sort of soy sauce dipping sauce to give the steak a little kick. This was a delicious meal. Another person in my party had the Short Rib Cavatelli and this was a huge delicious heavy portion of pasta he could not finish, but it was very good. Would definitely recommend eating here for anyone who wants a nice dinner with terrific service. The inside of the restaurant was also decorated very nice for the holidays....they had a cool old looking bar here as well. Think this will be a family favorite every time we visit the city.

Yelp
Visited The Consulate to celebrate a friends birthday. As soon as we walked in we were impressed by the decor and ambiance. It's a great place for a romantic or celebratory dinner. I ordered the Jardín cocktail and really enjoyed the spicy and sweetness of it. Our table ordered some items of the specials menu including a steak with chimichurri, seared duck breast, veggie burger, and lava cake dessert. All of it was very tasty but the steaks were a little light on sides, just came with broccoli rabe. Definitely recommend ordering a side of fries they were a hit with our table!

Yelp
Ambience was 5 star. Really nice. Felt warm and inviting and a good number of people there to create a scene. Food on the other hand felt overpriced for the dining experience. It didn't feel like enough of a memorable experience to justify those prices. Shrimp Toast was the best thing we ordered. Really thought it had a lot of flavor and was delicious. Again, a small portion for the price. The French Onion Soup tasted no better or worse than average French Onion Soup-- but it cost $20! The Gnocchi relied on butter and cream for flavor. It was good but wasn't an interesting dish and lacked a wow factor. The beer is $10 and Wine averages $17 a glass. We spent over $150 with tip (2 apps, 1 entree, 3 beers), left a bit hungry, and overall felt the experience left some to be desired for the price. That said location is great, and rent is high in that area-- they got to cover the costs somehow. I personally just don't have enough disposable income on a weeknight to cover a $150 dinner that isn't going to wow me. A lot of people seem to give this restaurant 5 stars so maybe I just have different taste.

Yelp
A great delicious time! Excellent service! The drinks were great, our server Staka was wonderful, very patient with our questions re: drinks and the menu, she was very knowledgeable and we appreciated her suggestions. Overall the staff was very professional and friendly. We had the charred Octopus to start with scallops for one of the the entrees and their wagyu beef and mushrooms was amazing. Their Crème brûlée and coconut banana bread pudding left us wanting more. The ambience of the restaurant is stylish with a casual vibe for any group wanting to have a great night out. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Yelp
Love this place. This was our first time for a team dinner and it was 10/10. They took care of all of us. Our food came out at the same time. And our server Javier took amazing care of us. TY Javier! Will be returning & definitely recommend.

Yelp
I had walked past here a bunch of times and noticed the great outdoor set-up, as well as taken a peek inside and admired the decor. Finally came by to try brunch and it was just all right. I think I've well and given up on brunch as a concept. Really liked the cocktails. Thought the drinks menu was pretty inventive (though not cheap for $17 for a few sips of alcohol). Maybe next time I'd eat somewhere else and come here for a nightcap. 1) Consulate omelet: Fluffy eggs, generous chunks of cheese and caramelized onion. Potatoes on the side could have used more crispiness/seasoning and the side salad was really under-dressed. 2) Hangover burger: Patty was a little small. We had a mix-up with a gluten-free dish where at first we weren't sure if the fries had any sort of breading on them and then our friend found a hair on the dish. Manager came by and quickly sorted out the issue, no questions asked. 3) Shrimp and grits: Hmm. The tomato sauce had good flavoring but the grits were really dry and mushy. More like polenta. I might come back and try the dinner but the brunch fell a bit flat.

Yelp
Quaint and romantic, The Consulate offers up not only the perfect backdrop for a date night but ups the ante with some delicious plates as well. We sat outside, which was heated and very nicely put together and decorated, and started with some cocktails. From there, we moved on to steak tartare for our starter. The raw steak formed into a perfect little circle topped with a raw quail egg and paired with freshly toasted bread was out of this world. That runny yolk ties the meat and bread together into the perfect bite. I could've, unapologetically, eaten one serving all to myself. For my main course, I got the short rib cavatelli. The pasta came topped with a healthy dollop of goat cheese and the pasta itself was jam packed full of short rib and a hearty sauce. This was no small portion either, could've been shared (but I didn't). A delicious dish and one that I'd recommend to anyone. Service was great, the restaurant was impeccably clean and reservations would be a good idea, as it is a fairly popular spot.

Yelp
Fantastic brunch. Superb service. Reasonable price. I got the Croque Monsier and she got the Nutella French Toast. Both were excellent.
