"A restaurant in Somerville that closed after barely a year, previously a neighborhood standby." - Erika Adams

"Maybe you don’t expect to find a great burger at an Irish pub across the street from a parking lot, but the gods of Irish pubs work in drunken, mysterious ways. This place has a ton of different burgers, but they’re all made with giant, baseball-sized patties on a sesame seed bun that somehow holds it together. The house burger comes with a slice of ham and bacon on top of a nicely seasoned patty that’s ridiculously juicy." - dan secatore

"If you’re smart, you’ll go to RF O’Sullivan’s on a day when it’s raining. That way, you’ll already be wearing something to protect your shirt from the geysers of juice that spill out of the giant, perfectly cooked patties. There are over 30 different kinds of burgers here, they’re all huge, they’re all cooked to order, and they’re all served on a bun that basically turns into a sesame seed sponge by the time you finish. Grab a beer, watch the game, and enjoy what is essentially the platonic ideal of a pub burger." - dan secatore

We stopped here on a Friday evening and the restaurant was quiet. We almost left but a guy at the bar said the food was great. We stayed and it was true. The nachos came with homemade chips!!! Soo good. Great comfort food! The staff was very friendly!!! The serving size was very generous.

The nachos, wings, Alfredo pasta and Beacon St. Burger is amazing! Young entrepreneurs making a go of it. The Chef puts fantastic twists on fan favorites, with reasonable prices. We highly recommend it.

Phenomenal neighborhood haven, 5 stars for the service and friendliness of the team alone. The innovative, eclectic yet homey flair of chef David’s cooking is unparalleled. Every seafood dish is ridiculously fresh, and the frying style for the food is impressive. Loco moco is a classic, but you also can’t go wrong with the cajun chicken sandwich - it scratches the itch for upscale bar food, by far one of the best in town. Tuna steak frites is also yummy. For apps, garlic shrimp has one of the most down-to-earth, flavorful profiles I’ve had. For dinner, the whole fried red snapper is definitely the most impressive, storied dish on the menu if you’ve got a whole family of mouths to feed :)

This place is very close by, so maybe I'm biased, but I'm so glad that Cornerstone is my new neighborhood spot! The food is absolutely delicious, and there's always a new, fun special. The fries are also really good! Our go-tos are the clam strips, sweet chili wings (the sauce slaps!), or fish and chips. The draft list is smaller, but well-curated. Cocktails are pretty great, too. Best of all, the vibes are immaculate! David and Derek are great, and the staff that I've met so far have been wonderful, as well. Very happy that The Cornerstone joined the neighborhood!

The food is excellent and the staff is super friendly! We especially enjoyed the Tuna Tartar, Loco Moco and Fried Chicken Sandwich. The house made sauces were very flavorful. Reasonably priced too!

Where the corner bar is actually a fine dining experience!! I am always pleasantly surprised to find a place like The Cornerstone. From the outside you'd think "bar food" and keep walking, but if you do that you are missing a neighborhood gem. The service was bubbly.... That is the only was to describe our enthusiastic server. She was cordial and seemed to really appreciate our being there. I had the clam chowder and it has pretty much ruined the next clam chowder I order somewhere else. It was so good. I also had the seafood pasta. Oh my! With a more than generous amount of seafood I felt like I was getting the deal of the day. Then came dessert.....Cannolis!! Now I need to go for a long bike ride. I order what I thought was going to be two and when three arrived, well let's just say YUM. Don't miss this fabulous neighborhood establishment.

Love this place! New ownership with a new and evolving menu. Ruben and Mia are welcoming and genuinely great people! I have been back several times now and have loved every dish I've ordered; Ruben rocks! Definitely try this place if you've never been. And if you haven't visited this place in a while, time to come back! Stop by for a fantastic taco Tuesday!

We were at The Cornerstone for brunch and it was delicious! We ordered the breakfast burger and the eggs benny. Everything was extremely flavorful and well executed. The food came out quickly and the staff were very friendly. Looking forward to coming back and trying the dinner menu.

Yelp
Great bang-for-your-buck pub food & drinks. The menu seems to have a lot of Hawaiian influences, the Loco Moco was legit. I also had a burger just to compare how it was to the old RF OSullivans - and it was one of the better burgers I've had in a while. I should note that it's a completely different style and you shoudn't expect an homage to the space's former occupant. I think it's the same chef behind the Yume restaurants - so all I expected is that it was tasty (and it was!). Service was warm, friendly and attentive. I enjoyed this experience and look forward to coming back. My only note would be to lean into the eccentric influences a little more and update some of the decor. It looks like an Irish Pub from the outside, the name feels like an Irish Pub and it looks like an Irish Pub inside. Maybe that'll come in time.

Yelp
Very happy for this addition to the neighborhood! We've had and loved the garlic shrimp and Cajun fried chicken sandwich a few times now - update to truffle parm fries and you won't regret it. Recently tried the crab cakes which were also great. Looking forward to checking out more of the menu over time.

Yelp
This place is the greatest little surprise. The food was absolutely delicious. The service here can't be beat, they are so sweat and accommodating. The ambiance is cozy and warm. It's my favorite new local spot!

Yelp
Wow. Extremely disappointing. Would love for this place to improve because the guy running it seems truly nice. But there is very little attention to detail in both the ambiance and the food. Both really slipshod. Will try again in a year if they are still around.

Yelp
Amazing service, everyone was very friendly. Great food! Nice chill Hawaiian-esque atmosphere.

Yelp
We liked the old O'Sullivan's and had read positive reviews about the new place, so we thought we'd give it a try. The place pretty much looks like its previous iteration. The noise level wasn't bad because it was practically empty. That should have been the first clue that things might not be so good. The waitress was knowledgeable about the beers on tap and suggested a good one. The French 75 cocktail was overly sweet most likely because of too much grenadine. The blistered peppers were okay, a bit greasy. The food was memorable, and not in a good way. The Mahi Mahi fish and chips that my spouse had were encased in a dark reddish batter (pimenton?) and slightly overdone, but edible. I ordered tuna steak frites. The waitress explained that the fish was "seared" and "red". When the plate arrived, the tuna was encased in the same (greasy) batter as the fish and chips. The fish flesh was cooked medium, not even pink. The waitress exchanged it for a new order that was more on the medium side of medium rare. I didn't bother with the three sauces, two of which tasted medicinal. The fries were okay; the arugula salad had a bit too much dressing. We skipped dessert. Overall, the meal was an overpriced a waste of an evening out. Needless to say, we won't return.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place and hope to give it another try. I came in on a quieter night planning to order a drink and something to eat. I was the only customer there, with (I think) two staff members sitting at the bar. The bartender wasn't overly friendly and when I asked about when they opened he seemed bitter that business was slow. Staff on the clock were also clearly eating in the dinning room which felt weird when there's only one customer in clear sight. Super strange vibes in here. I didn't eat however the menu seems out of place for the area. Cool, but out of place and expensive. Hope to give it a round two on a busier night, but I don't see this lasting in the area.

Yelp
We started with the Creamy Butternut Squash Bisque, which packed a spicy kick and was really tasty. I'd highly recommend the Loco Moco and Hawaii Chicken Salad. The Loco Moco is a perfect comfort food. The Hawaii Chicken Salad is so simple, it's hard to believe it's so good. It felt like a real neighborhood bar. Really great to have these new neighbors!

Yelp
Service is extremely good here. Everyone is super nice. I love coming to decompress at the bar. I got the fish tacos and they were excellent. Also good for getting a table and hanging with friends.

Yelp
I went to Cornerstone today for the first time. It's in the old RF O'Sullivan's in Somerville. The new owner, David has done a nice job redoing the restaurant and updating it. It's cozy. I sat by the wall fireplace. My food was very good. I had the "Sommahville Clam Chowder", the Caesar salad and the Garlic Shrimp. The chowder and the shrimp dish were very good and I would certainly get it again. The Caesar salad was good but it was sort of plain. The croutons were not homemade, but the dressing was good and it was tasty and I would probably get that again as well. We were initially seated and served by a pleasant fellow whose name I don't recall. We were then taken care of by Kim who was very attentive and pleasant. I also spoke with David, the chef and owner to see if they would be having live music there. That is in the works but not yet. The bottom line for me is that I enjoyed it and will be back.
