Californian daytime cuisine on patio or inside vintage home
"This beach-adjacent Victorian house-turned-restaurant is a beloved neighborhood breakfast spot. Expect things like boozy strawberry compote stuffed inside french toast, or antojito benedict served with chili braised beef on housemade sopes instead of an english muffin and jalapeño crema swapped in for hollandaise. You’ll find us and all the other Cottage devotees milling around the sidewalk on a weekend morning, coffee from Brick and Bell in hand, waiting for our name to be called." - sabrina medora
"What started as a quaint breakfast lodge in La Jolla 30 years ago has since expanded to a total of three locations in North County. Where friendly service is a priority, the Cottage has drawn in diners for its variety of brunch options: omelets, Benedicts, pancakes, and more notably, its homemade granola. Vegan and gluten-free options abound, the latter extending to cinnamon swirl pancakes and a wild mushroom omelet with goat cheese. Brunch runs from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Encinitas, and until 3 p.m. in La Jolla and Del Mar." - Roxana Becerril

"The Cottage, a beloved brunch spot in La Jolla, is expanding to a prime location in Del Mar Plaza. Known for its breakfast and brunch dishes, the restaurant will take over the former site of Del Mar Rendezvous. The Cottage is scheduled to open by Spring 2024 and will be designed by Ikedo Design." - Candice Woo
