Food was good, priced a little high but that kinda how it works at the airport. I had the aptly named "The country cat" did a great job making my sunny side up eggs, The home fries were yummy and the homeade sausage patty was pretty delicious. Also got the puff half caf cold brew coffee which was very yummy and not very bitter which is good cuz it did not need much sweetener. The only gripe I can say is they didn't have decaf. But that's not a deal breaker.

Google
I walked up to the counter to order and once I got my food, I walked into the dining area to sit down and eat, and the owner kicked me out telling me that this is for dine only and there’s a sign. There was no sign and zero customers sitting down I tried to ask her a question and she turned around and just walked in the back and ignored me.

My wife and I stopped here while waiting for a delayed flight, and we were honestly in a pretty bad mood. Katrina completely turned our experience around. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made all the difference. On top of that, we had the best martini we’ve ever had!! absolutely outstanding. Instead of feeling stressed and frustrated, we left feeling cared for and in much better spirits. Excellent service and a perfect drink can really change your day, and Katrina delivered both.

Google
The description says “Farm to Table”. Not exactly. Most of the menu is prepared offsite so no personalization possible. The tomato soup had the consistency of spaghetti sauce and was inedible. The grilled cheese sandwich was made with inferior bread and was barely edible. The turkey club sandwich had a goat cheese spread on it which was out of place and not enticing. It’s not really a restaurant—it’s a counter and a case with seating open to the ticketing area of the airport. The service was excellent—really excellent table service from 2 employees.

Google
My flight was delayed, so United gave me two food vouchers for my inconvenience. I chose the country cat because they have vegan option. I placed my order proceeded to the register to pay with my voucher and Ashely very rudely tells we normally want to know if you are paying with a voucher, I was taken back by the tone of her voice. The food was delicious Customer service sucked.

Google
Country Cat pre-COVID wes THE best airport bar/eatery on the planet. The chow was great and the bar was legit. It didn't feel like an "airport" restaurant. The quality, price and service were on par with a city restaurant. Now it's pre-made food with a small bar. It's so sad. I would like to understand what happened. It's also before security now. I used to get through TSA and hang at Country Cat. Dang. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. - VanPort Insider.

I guess if you’re not Anglo/White you’re not treated the same. It bothered the waitress that we even decided to take a seat. She was rude and rolled her eyes at us as we placed ordered the food was awful. I had to go to the take out order before she noticed me wanting to leave. All the other customers were seated and greeted with laughter and a smile. It was awful.

Google
Lovely restaurant with a concise but varied menu of absolutely delicious food. The fried chicken sandwich was my favorite and I was pleased to find that it was a fried chicken thigh instead of the usual chicken breast. Moist and delicious and perfectly fried. My wife really enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich that had capers which was a unique salty twist that worked so well! Thanks for a great experience!

Yelp
Who would have thought I'd have the best breakfast ever in the PDX airport? My boyfriend and I had breakfast at The Country Cat before I flew home and it was great. Service was good and they had a broad menu. I got blueberry pancakes and was so impressed with the two huge fluffy golden pancakes with fresh blueberries inside! I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area. It's so cute and really yummy!

Yelp
This place is great. Probably the best bar location in PDX terminal gate D. Walk through security, first thing you see? A BAR!! With FOOD!! Darn near some of the nicest staff I've met at an airport bar. This is a WHISKEY bar, but serves beer, wine and delicious food. Burger and fries was my choice, was a great choice too. I had a Pilsner and Ale, and would certainly explore more. If you are a Whiskey drinker, be sure to stop by. Thank you Cat!

Yelp
This spot never disappoints when you need a place to catch a quick bite before your flight. Great seating at the bar with lots of sports channeled to follow and quick bar service. Today I ordered the Quinoa Bowl. Outstanding! Delivered fresh and hair. Everything was just perfect!
google avatar

Julie E.

Yelp
Nice they are open early. They were only breakfast option open at 4:30am at PDX. Staff super friendly. Food is premade and microwaved. Taste was alright. Wouldn't seek it out. Need a better bread. Bacon is not crispy.

Carole I.

Yelp
Our food server and food were fine. We sat at the bar and had to experience a situation between a manager and another employee trying to straighten out a cash register shortage, right in front of us. As it turned out, the employee was correct but that poor employee was quite frustrated with the manager. It was an unpleasant lunch to sit through and went on the entire time we were eating. The manager should have at least apologized to all of us in earshot.
google avatar

Christin P.

Yelp
Sad. I guess my expectations were too high. I remember their brick & mortar location and their previous spot inside Pdx. I expected more of a sit down style restaurant, not grab and go. The breakfast sandwiches were microwaved and mine was still cold. I really miss their old spot/food.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
I seldom review airport food, because it's usually pretty mediocre. This roasted vegetable and quinoa bowl, however, was uniquely good, well cooked, and hit the spot. I'm 90% sure it's vegan but it's worth asking just to be sure in case they cook the quinoa in chicken broth or something weird.
google avatar

Kodi T.

Yelp
The service was good, the line was short. However, I ordered a bagel and they didn't cut it ... what? How do you cut your own bagel in the airport? It was also toasted ... ? I'm confused.

Wayne S.

Yelp
Good service for fast airport schedules. The buns are great, I usually don't eat them. Pulled pork is delicious.
google avatar

Kent M.

Yelp
All real good here now and not too busy lunch crowd. Veg omelette requested. And all is real good.

Yelp
Wow! This place sets the bar exceptionally high. I think, "oh great airport food" when I realized I didn't have time to eat before my flight. If I know an airport has this place, I'll wait until my flight to eat. The mediterranean chicken salad sandwich was on point. A salad sandwich???! I was sad I couldn't finish it. The fries were perfectly seasoned. And, did you see those berries?!! None of that cheap frozen/thawed fruit deals. This place is legit and I hope a fun trip again requires me to fly in/out of Portland (PDX) Airport again. The server was hilarious and got right to it. I told here I was starving and she made a funny joke about being fast to the register then leaving me alone with my food so I can focus on eating. Funny gal she was.

Yelp
This restaurant is my favorite part of traveling through PDX. Great food, great drinks, great people. All airport restaurants should be this good.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was 0 out of 5 Service was 2 out of 5 The best thing about the turkey club was the bread. Turkey smelled like it was past it's date, fries were cold. Airport is filling with travelers and this place is closing because chefs are going home? Food would be better if they stayed home and didn't come back. If you can't make an edible turkey club, then please don't bother. I can't imagine how dirty this kitchen must be if there is no manager taking responsibility for ensuring deli turkey is fresh. You could tell from the food that no one cares what people are served. There's no pride. The Mediterranean chicken salad sandwich was worse. If you are the owner reading this I must assume you no longer live in the area nor randomly inspect what you expect.

Yelp
Delicious lunch, Mediterranean Chicken Salad Sandwich and Cranberry Mimosa. Excellent service at the bar from Caleb.

Yelp
Tried the chicken salad sandwich. Do not recommend. Was nothing but large chunks of chicken between foccocia that fell apart. Don't waste your money or time, it's not worth it.

Yelp
Pancakes on fire. Crunchy goodness and they melt in your mouth. I made sure to get extra butter and they served the syrup hot. IYKTYK. Time listed is wrong. Early morning hospitality.

Yelp
The food was great and the service was great .I got a bucket of Frieda to share with my friend. We then ordered him a kale and cranberry salad. I got the turkey club sandwich. The problem I have and why I am giving it a 3 star is the manager. It's closed and I'm still here with a few other people. I got up from my table to ask the bartender for a water. Why waiting the manager asked me to put on my mask. I said sorry and walked 3 feet back to my table. He then stared at me the whole time and kept saying it's for safety: I said I put it on why are you staring at me while walking away? My friend intervened and said he did what you asked buzz off. He still stared at me and told our waitress to get me a water. He then left and gave me another look: what an ayhole. I apologized, followed your instructions, and you still felt compelled to stare at me and tell me why I needed to put on a mask.

Yelp
MJ and Spencer were attentive and took care of us road-weary travellers as we took solace in the glow of Led TVs showcasing Sunday Night Football. Food was timely and tasty. Drinks were on par for the airport, which means they were woefully weak. But you can't fault the staff for the overarching iron-first of Big Bro. I hope MJ and Spencer don't lose their vibrance and "aliveness" serving the numb, or worse, obnoxious randos that plod into their space.

Yelp
Wow definitely a great place to sit and eat breakfast before your flight! Usually airport food (even the sit down places) are not the best so I wasn't expecting too much even tho the menu sounded promising. Well I was pleasantly surprised when our food came and how nice it looked and even better, how great it tasted! Service was also excellent, our waiter was super friendly and provided great customer service. I had the eggs Benedict with the ham and my husband had the breakfast sandwich with salad. We were happy with our choices and enjoyed our breakfast here. Will be making this a regular stop when we are in the Portland airport!
google avatar

Erica L.

Yelp
So I'm rating this on airport grab and go standards which means I'm starting with no expectations after many a horrific meal. I had the turkey bacon sandwich. The bread was so dry, thick, and tasteless that I opted not to eat it. Bacon should have been crispier and thinner, not thick bacon that once refrigerated has that sort of disconcerting jelly like consistency without the crunch. The turkey seemed like real meat, not deli meat, and was reasonably generous. What makes the sandwich is the sweet but well seasoned tomato jam coupled with the fresh lettuce. If this was put into a wrap it would be perfect. I do appreciate that the restaurant opted to avoid anything that would make the sandwich soggy given that it's airport food. With a quick switch to tortilla wrap this could be a star.

Yelp
This place was NOURISHING! After finding garbage food at LAS and SJC I skipped eating anything til arrival at PDX. Located where the old baggage claim/ leaving door used to be - now sits this diamond dinning spot. a cafe or a quick food stand - GENUIS. Thank you. Fresh baked bread, yes please!
google avatar

Yelp
We had time to kill before our departure flight so we stopped here and I grabbed 2 mimosas. The service was good and the prices were fair. Cheers.
google avatar

Yelp
Yes, I grade on a curve. Especially at the airport. I don't expect fine dining or food to match the prices at an airport diner. I can't imagine I'm alone with that thinking. That said, I had breakfast at the country cat this morning. The menu was limited and couldn't find a simple bacon and eggs combination. I supposed I could have assembled that myself with the a la cart items, but that's a complicated task so early in the morning. We picked the breakfast sandwich and the French toast. Both looked way better than expected. The sandwich had a fried egg, ham and bacon between two English muffins. It came with a side of fruit (very fresh berries). I was totally expecting a dry, shriveled-up, heat-lamp-warmed McMuffin, but I was pleasantly shocked. It tasted pretty darn good, too. Same with the French toast. Tall and sturdy, it even came with pecans! They were definitely non-airport quality dishes. The coffee was good and strong. Service was prompt and friendly. Keep in mind that because they make these dishes post order, it'll take a good 10+ minutes. I think it's worth the wait. It's also another reason why I like PDX.

Rob D.

Yelp
Caleb the bartender made our delay and our drinks palatable! Not sure what we would have done without him! Actually an expert bartender in an airport. The food he recommended was also fresh! Very nice experience!
google avatar

Jonathan N.

Yelp
This place has a good menu but just be aware, they offer no alternatives to the carb items. In other words, if you don't want the grits, biscuit or potatoes that come with each item... no replacements for fruit or something but you can pay to add if you like. Still a good place in PDX especially if you like some down home cooking.
google avatar

Ness S.

Yelp
This is really pretty good for being an airport restaurant. It's a self-seating place but once you're seated, your order off the menu. The menu is pretty small but everything on it was mostly good. I got the Brisket, which came with a purple slaw and white bread. The brisket was nice and tender, although the au jus that it came with it, was a bit too sour for me. I didn't care for the slaw either I added the fries to that, which was a humongous portion, and I can't believe I managed to wolf the whole thing down. The server was really friendly and made the meal that much more enjoyable. And yes, I put the draft beer next to the glasses to give you an idea of the size. They brought me the wrong me the wrong size (the bill confirmed that, but it was only $2 more). Now, that I couldn't finish!

Yelp
First of all, a disclaimer: I did not actually even eat here. Now the story: So, I came in and was seated- so far, so good. Immediately thereafter a waitress brings back a chicken sandwich to the cook, apologizing profusely that she made a mistake and forgot to take off the cheese, as the customer had requested. Nothing really abnormal so far.... Then a waiter comes by, literally THROWS a menu on my table and says nothing. Oookay.... But then the same guy, 15 seconds after throwing the menu on my plate tells the cook: "You should totally just pull the cheese off and re-fry it and then send it back". I was appalled and stood up and left. The same waiter then said, "Have fun crying" as I exited the premises. Unfortunately, I was in an airport and couldn't give him the ass beating he definitely, IMO, deserved. Take from this story what you will.... Obviously, I will never stand foot in this place again.

Jesse M.

Yelp
The absolute worst bagel I've ever had in my life. About lost a tooth trying to bite into it. I have never written a review like this, the lady's service was great. But was not able to even take a single bite of the bagel. Feels like biting into a stack of paper. Can't even tear the thing in half. Was confused as to why they couldn't cut it in half for me. Well one bite in, and almost two lost teeth later... it's clearly not humanly possible. I broke both knives they provided trying to do so as well.

Yelp
I grabbed brunch this past Saturday before departing Portland at the airport and I'm glad I wandered into the Country Cat. The only think that is not pictured is the amazing Ginger Ale with actual ginger in it which was so, so quenching and refreshing. It was a large drink. I ordered an omelet with a side of grits. Now, as a Southerner, I had to judge the grits which were savory and thank God they didn't put sugar in them but butter. There was no seasoning so I did add just a pinch of sodium/salt. They were a delicious complement to the omelet. Everything was filling and served hot just before I hopped on my flight just minutes later back to ATL. Loved it! Check them out on your next trip through PDX.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Bartender and waitstaff were both super friendly and very attentive. I ordered a takeoff and mac and cheese with bacon. Food and drink were both excellent. Great place to grab a drink and a quick bite.
google avatar

Shauna M.

Yelp
One of the more mediocre meals I have had in a while. Omelet was tasty but the fried chicken sandwich had American cheese on it, which made it taste cheap, and it was in desperate need of some acidity. Very few non-meat options. Everything is fried, no grilled options. Service was great, but I won't be coming back when I have some free time before a flight.
google avatar

Crystal W.

Yelp
Customer service and good food gets me every time. I'm glad Nicole was my server. She was pleasant, tended to us well, and was thorough at making our experience perfect. We were not keen on their homemade ketchup. We asked for regular ketchup and she delivered with outstanding service. Everything was freshly made. Their biscuit with homemade jam was amazing! A must try if you dine here.

Rita S.

Yelp
They automatically give you bottled water which you have to pay for. No written or verbal notice that you will be charged for this water automatically given to you. Manager explained that this is a way they keep prices down by charging for water! If they have to raise prices, do it strait forward instead of using deceptive practice. Also bottled water is not regularly tested as is tap water and contains micro plastics.

Jeannette W.

Yelp
People and ambiance is5 stars. The natural cheeseburger has to be the best I've ever had!
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Go here. :) We barely waited a minute before we were seated. For those not in the know, this is a great restaurant with it's first location in SE Portland. It is hard to get in there. Here you will get a seat! Yay! And... Food was great. Price was reasonable. Service was great. I suggest planning a longer airport time so you can eat here. I now make my plans to be at PDX 2 hours prior to my flight so I can eat here. Worth it. Last few trips out of PDX I ate here before my flight. No crappy airplane food for me.

Chip L.

Yelp
The wording under the name Country Cat, says "dinner house bar", yet we arrived at 4:50 pm July 6th and the man behind the bar said they aren't seating any more, with more than half the tables vacant. As we turned to walk out heard him say to someone at the bar, something about what a joke and started laughing at us. For dinner house bar, doesn't make much sense not to serve dinner or make jokes about your clientele, poor form!
google avatar

Kathy F.

Yelp
PDX restaurants do not disappoint. We stopped at the Country Cat for breakfast before a 10:00 am flight. We were in need of coffee and were pleasantly surprised that the Water Ave Coffee makes a special blend for The Country Cat. It was a a nice, dark roast with an extremely smooth finish. A perfect blend before a flight across the county!
google avatar

Naomi K.

Yelp
Quick place to grab a bite to eat before your flight. Kiosk with grab and go. The bagels were decent. I tried the cheddar and herb. They will heat it up if you want. Make sure to grab a cream cheese packet if you want, though it's extra. There is a good selection of quality drinks there too. Everything from cold press stumptown to Odwalla. There's a seating area just on the other side where you can get hot meals too.
google avatar

Mickele B.

Yelp
The service was quick but the bartender a little clipped. I asked for a local wine and he recommended something from France! I don't think he was really listening. I asked for onions and tomato on my burger and they only had cherry tomatoes that were refrigerated. They had a great wine list.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
We tried the Country Cat (eggs, jam/butter, and biscuit) and the B&G before our early morning flight. We love biscuit and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of flavor each biscuit had. The biscuits they make are quite dense, not fluffy and pillowy like I usually prefer, but the rich flavor made up for the texture. My husband loved his B&G, and I thought my Country Cat plate was adequate (the presentation wasn't that great). I would hope that this place is only pricier because it is in the airport, because I would not be pleased to pay these prices outside of PDX. Service was okay, seating is kind of cramped for the amount of tables they place in this small area. You can also get to-go food from the restaurant right next door if you desire.

Yelp
Had the Chicken 'n' Biscuits for a quick dinner before heading back to LAX. We were in and out of the restaurant in 30 minutes, so it really was quick service. Our server was very kind and really helped us be fast by recommending what would be the fastest dishes and getting our bill settled quickly without making us feel rushed. The dish itself was broth based with huge chunks of meat and square biscuits that were a bit dry and looked like tofu, haha. I wish there was a bit more broth, as I felt the dish was a bit salty from all the ham and bacon. But still tasty and hit the spot. Plenty of seating and a nice view of the tarmac from the windows.
google avatar

Darris J.

Yelp
Dropped in because Portland eater recommended travelers try the fried chicken and collard greens Portland eater has no idea how fried chicken and collard greens should taste. Chicken was over cooked, with a crust akin to poorly seasoned cobbler. Greens were super bitter and tasted of vinegar. Mashed potatoes and brown gravy were not bad at all, with the exception of the parts that where unlucky enough to be next to the greens. Place looks nice enough, waitstaff was ah-ite. Not willing to try the other menu items if I'm ever back at PDX.

Yelp
I finally give The Country Cat a shot, and it's the airport location. Heh. Whatever. It's seat yourself, which is fine, but it does lead to confused patrons meandering around looking/waiting for a table while you're trying to eat. Once you're seated a server will bring you menus and offer coffee. Our server was very busy and rushed, but meant well. I ordered the the kale and salad because I'm getting ready to eat like a glutton in France. There wasn't any kale, which I find hilarious. It was spring greens with maybe a little spinach. It's Country Cat, sure, but it's also airport food, so adjust your expectations. I opted to get the smoked chicken added on, though the $5 charge kind of turned me off. I'm glad I did; it was a lot of meat! This definitely will keep me feel during my voyage, without being uncomfortable. My partner got the chicken n' biscuits, and he was very happy with it. I had a bite, and indeed, it was very good. It was like chicken noodle soup, except with cheddar biscuits in place of the noodles. Yum! We also shared a side of the cream biscuit with jam. It's definitely not the best biscuit in the world, but it's a solid one. A note about service: they are doing the best they can. They're seriously understaffed. Don't blame your server for rushing around with their hair on fire, or for taking a while to get to you. It's not their fault. Please remember that. Having said all this, if you're in a hurry, keep walking. This experience took about an hour, which was fine for us, but if you've got a flight to catch soon, just keep walking.

Yelp
In PDX you can eat at genuine local restaraunts and drink local beer until 12:00am, every day of the week. In Sea-Tac, Qdoba is open till 11pm on weekdays. This place has two of my all-time favorite beers on tap: Boneyard IPA Breakside IPA It also has some of the best fried chicken you'll ever have. Even if you don't like fried chicken, you should seriously give it a shot. If I were in town, I'd rather hit up Screendoor. At an airport, this is easily some of the best food you'll ever get a shot at! No 5-stars because the service is authentic Portland: distant, aloof, needing a good prodding to get things done. I'm a laid back guy, so this isn't usually a big deal. But I'm in an airport where timeliness is a HUGE deal. It's the WHOLE DEAL. Expect to inquire about your food and aggressively ask for another beer.

Yelp
Wow. I tried The Country Cat at pdx because I needed to eat something other than a convenience store sandwich. And what a great decision it was. Please note that the pictures I took are after having removed certain delicious items (cheese, sugary pecans, grains, dressings etc) I started with the spinach and kale salad. Fresh produce, and apples make this a fantastic choice. It was very large and tasty. The dressing delicious. Then I ordered the burger. With egg, no bun. No cheese. IT WAS AMAZING! The prices are reasonable, the food is amazing. If I lived in Portland I'd eat dinner at the airport!

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised Shrimp and grits were fantastic Prices not jacked up So normally you go to one of these sit-down restaurants at any airport and the prices are ridiculously high. Saw something in one of the Portland guides that the local restaurants that are given licenses to operate at PDX have to charge the same prices at their original location. Most of the entrees at Country Cat were in the 9 to 12 dollar range. I got the shrimp and grits for 18, but it was definitely worth it. Probably my favorite meal on the trip, and the portion size was generous. Their craft cocktails all looked to be in the 9 to 12 range and beer was 6 for a pint or 8 for a 22 ounce. Guessing Country Cat is maybe new at the airport because I could not find any Yelp listing and had to create one. Would definitely check it out if in the PDX airport and excitedly. Not something you can say very often for a joint in the airport. Also had a great view looking north out on to the runways. Service seemed a bit overwhelmed at times and some tool left their gum on the counter for my unsuspecting hoodied elbow. Close to five stars for me.

Yelp
Pretty great food for an airport restaurant. Typically I wouldn't rave about a airport restaurant , however this one was good. Southern comfort food is the theme here. It's in terminal D. I had a bowl of tomato soup with a sandwich and it was a perfect combo while traveling on a rainy day. The service staff was very friendly and kept checking in on me and taking care of my drink. It was the proper level of attentiveness. There was a lot of other items on the menu that looked great, like grits and other southern comfort foods. Someone was eating the grits next to me and it looked delicious I will probably stop in next time I am at the airport to try the next thing. I would recommend that you stop in here is you have time. The meal was pretty quick from order to table so if you are in a rush, you should be able to make this place work for you.
google avatar

Carole B.

Yelp
I have sneaking suspicion that this place could be superlative, if folks weren't so stressed about making their flights. I sidled up to the bar and was pleased with the clever names of the cocktails, such as flight delay, and jetlagged. Many of the drinks were gin based - which is not my favorite liquor. So I opted for the skeet tea, full of ice tea lemonade and vodka with a black tea component, at a reasonable - by airport standards - cocktail price. I wanted to order the hot wings, but realized that my plane was about to board and buffalo sauce is best slurped in private, so I aborted the hot wings mission. Next time! Fun place with friendly bartender who stands out amongst her snarky colleagues.

Yelp
One of the best Eggs Benedict I've had in quite some time (and Eggs Benedict are a staple in my breakfast ordering). The eggs were perfectly poached, the biscuit was light but also buttery, the hollandaise tasted homemade (opposed to a mix which you'd almost expect from a busy airport). I will definitely go back, and will look forward to travel plans that allow enough time to stop in again in the future. The staff were all incredibly nice, the appropriate amount of chatty, and seemed to genuinely enjoy working with one another which was refreshing. Fantastic bartender. She seemed to read her bar very well and knew how much interaction wasn't too little, wasn't too much, but the perfect amount (I have a thing about bartenders who are too much). To my surprise, I've read some mixed reviews about the dish, and all I can imagine is that perhaps they had some straightening out to do in the kitchen. Whatever they did today, or whoever was back there, they nailed it. Highly, highly recommend.
