We had a fun night at the Country Club pop up Christmas bar in Wrigleyville. We happened to be there on a Thursday night and it was trivia night. The games were fun and the moderator kept it moving pretty quickly. We ordered their hummus and veggie platter as well as their reindeer Chow. Also their signature Christmas themed drinks were excellent and well priced. The second floor was really super decorated for Christmas with lots of fun and holiday-themed ideas.

This place is hands down one of my favorites now. Such a neat and great spot. I almost felt like I was back in Texas for a bit. That might've been because of the whiskey too. Awesome staff and atmosphere been there twice now. The second time was yesterday. And might've had too much of a damn good time. No me and the other Rednecks didn't get kicked out 🤣 it was a great afternoon and evening hanging out there. We'll definitely be back again soon 🍻🥃👍

Google
Not my typical vibe, but I had a great time. Service was very quick. It was a bit hot but we were able to get a seat next to the open window

Google
The hillbilly margarita was 20oz for $12! and you get a free cowboy boot cub to go! great service, everyone was so nice and the cocktails were delicious. shout out to the bartender who went to university of Dayton. i would come back here!

Google
What a great time !!! Such a cool place to hang out. GREAT service reasonably priced. All staff provided excellent service. Windy City Seminole Club had a football party and it was so much fun!! Thanks

Kristie M Holmes

Google
We went here after a Cubs game on our last trip to Chicago and had the BEST time. Make sure to get the pineapple drink, it's the only drink you'll need! Go Cubs!

We visited while it was still Christmas Club and had a great time! Loved all of the decorations. The food was good and service was great.

Yelp
One of my boyfriends favorite places in Chicago. Food is really good, great value for your money, and the servers are very helpful. Eager to get you something you like, and will help you out with the menu. The atmosphere in here is kinda loud on Friday and Saturday nights, but overall it's pretty great. Lots of tvs to watch sports, and good game day deals for NFL and the Cubs

Jason S.

Yelp
Country Club never disappoints! I recently went for Football Sunday, and they had an amazing deal--$25 for a 100oz beer tower! Honestly, how can you beat that? We also ordered the popcorn chicken, which is hands down my favorite thing on the menu. For just $12, you get so much chicken, making it an incredible deal. Another plus is how easy it was to make a reservation. Sundays can get packed during football season, but just a quick call, and they'll have a table ready for you. Overall, Country Club is my favorite bar in Wrigley--great food, great deals, and the perfect football spot!

Yelp
Pretty chill for a Saturday evening. We decided this would be our first stop on our bar crawl. I tried their pickleback shots & had a beer. Service was great, even spotted Morgan Wallen

Diane C.

Yelp
We went here for a celebration of my niece and had a fanastic time. The food was so yummy - cheese curds, Cuban pork sliders, wings, hummus with veggies - and the drinks were amazing. Even better yet the staff was out of this world helpful and ready to handle the group, even helping my daughter (who was in heels) walk down the steep stairs to the second floor party room. Excellent service and location.

Tim M.

Yelp
Came to checkout the Christmas club, and absolutely loved all the festive decorations!! They have great bar snacks and the drinks were yummy! Our server Jess was so sweet and funny we absolutely loved her!! Would highly recommend

Yelp
Amazing management team. Service is awesome! Great setting and loved the drinks! A must visit place in Wrigleyville!

Yelp
Stopped in to meet a friend with my 18 mo old at lunch time on a Saturday of a cubs game and it was super chill. Quick service, no judgment of a baby in a bar, and fast food. Food wasn't as great as I wanted but it was pretty solid for the bar. Nashville chicken sandwich was very large and crispy although we like it dripping in sauce which isn't the case here. More like a light dusting but nice buttery bun with pickles and shredded lettuce. Curly fries are solid. Diner burger on the other hand would be a pass next time. I wanted that greasy double patty like it read on the menu but instead you can see a lot of bun and not that much grease. It's still two Pattie's and they do take up most of the bun, don't judge the picture because I didn't realize the angle until I posted. However, still a lot of bun and I wish I realized it didn't come with lettuce because that crunch would have helped. Side salad was great! Also had the fried pickles and they are crunchy but the pickle is a lackluster wimpy pickle. Anyway, I'll be back because it's got lots of space and was reasonable for a beer and sandwich with a little during the day.

Jonathan B.

Yelp
If you're into country music and the Nashville aesthetic, this is the place to be in Wrigleyville.

Tammy W.

Yelp
Updating this review because our group went the following week and wow, what a difference. Terrible service by our waitress downstairs. She literally sat the beers on the table for the 6 of us and walked away...not passing them to us, not telling us which beers were what...we looked at each other like, "did that just happen?" Looking at other reviews it seems that the service quality is really varied here, unfortunately.

Dan M.

Yelp
Super fun Christmas bar!! They did an amazing job decorating the bar in christmas decorations! It is like you are at the North Pole in Santa's workshop!! It really puts you in the Christmas mood! Bravo!! This is AWESOME!!!

Errol B.

Yelp
I ordered delivery from here through Grubhub. I don't live very far away and everything arrived hot still. I didn't set the bar high for this place because many places in the area are overpriced or put out garbage food. They package their food well with a sturdy container and a taperproof bag. They give you a decent number of tater tots. The diner burger is decently filling and of better quality versus similar style burgers in the area. It actually has a similar taste to a giant double decker White Castle cheeseburger, but has more flavor. Not bad at all.

Chad B.

Yelp
Came by after the Cubs game and really had an awesome time. Jeremy killed it with the live music and the drinks were great. Staff was super friendly and awesome.

Tommy O.

Yelp
Country Club will remain 2 stars for me. It's an ok bar if you want to come in on a Friday or Saturday night, but it really doesn't do anything to distinguish itself from all of the other Wrigleyville bars. If you want to listen to country then go to Houndstooth or Old Crow as those bars a nicer IMO. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with tots. I thought the sandwich was dry and didn't have too much flavor. It needed more sauce and I should have asked for more sauce. Tots were good as they were hot, crispy, and salty and they were probably better than the sandwich. The Owner's other bar, Waterhouse, in Roscoe Village has much better food. Service was slow and it took a while to get my food. To be honest, it was a little busy as the Cubs won and it was trivia night. So I will give the staff a break. On the other hand, this was one of the worst places for trivia. You could barely hear the MC say the questions because of the music and crowd noise. Plus there was no enforcement for cheaters. That takes out all of the fun. Like I said, I may stop by here when I'm drunk on a Friday or Saturday night to drink with friends. But I will not be coming for the food or trivia.

Lisa S.

Yelp
This two story bar is a fun place to visit when you're in Wrigleyville. It plays a lot of country music during the day but turns to popular music and top hits at night on the weekends. Drinks are average price for the area, and they offer liquor, wine, and beer. The bottom level can get pretty crowded during peak hours, so it can take quite a while to order drinks at the bar. However, they do have servers who visit the tables if you're lucky enough to get seated at one, which makes getting drinks much easier! I enjoy the vibe at this bar; they welcome everyone, even a 70-year old woman celebrating her birthday by dancing on the couches!

Kim K.

Yelp
I booked this place as a venue for a casual, fun rehearsal dinner. It was a great choice! Found them online because I'm from out of state. Event planner always responded promptly with any of my questions. The bride/groom loved it, guests raved about the food, privacy of space. We had the entire top floor. Food, drinks, staff were all great and super accommodating. The only negatives...miscommunication about a time to come decorate early (late night for them the night before closing, event person on a flight, we definitely had to clean tables& such), ..have to say the staff made up for any of that. Name dropping- Paco, Tom, Aldo, the 2 bartenders thanks Country Club!!

Julie C.

Yelp
Try the cheese curds and then wash them down with an ice cold beer. It's my first time here after moving to Chicago and this felt like a bar from home. I can't wait to come back and get to know the folks here. Kate took care of us and she was such a sweetheart. You won't be disappointed.

Jake R.

Yelp
Had the unforgettable experience of meeting @Countryclubbilly (Instagram), pictured below in the Jolly as Fuck shirt. I've heard he is the owner, a manager or maybe just a bar tender. Anyways, went to country club to meet my friends for the Bears game. Terrible to place to watch a Bears game, (no volume, TVs not working, loud and shitty music) but I digress. I guess I got in Billy's way and unprovoked Billy got in my face. He called me a faggot and told me to fight him and continued to harass me until I left the bar. Other bar patrons told me he was 'coked out' and that I should "just leave". I was personally sober, as I chose to slow sip my $7 Miller Lite. Don't support this place.

Adam B.

Yelp
The classic 3.5 start review. As a NY Jets fan, I've visited several times for gameday watches. For sure, it's a lot better than Rebel ever was. It's more inviting, it's lighter inside, and the staff is friendly. For drinks, the beer variety isn't great, but it's decent with few novelties such as Shiner Bock on draft. For the limited cocktail menu, the Georgia Peach is pretty good, although $9 is a bit steep. The food has been up and down for me. The cilantro lime chicken sandwich is wonderful, zesty with a little spice. The fries are also a very high quality and the food comes out relatively quickly. The wings have been pretty disappointing though. The fireball BBQ had an overly sweet flavor from the cinnamon flavored whiskey. I would expect a southern-themed place to have a good BBQ sauce and this really disappointed me. The Memphis dry rub were fair enough, but I've certainly had better. I enjoy Country Club, I just think there are some parts of it that need to be fine-tuned. And on a side note, maybe it would behoove them to play some other eras of country music besides just the current, which is barely country anyway.

Yelp
BRO!!!!! If you're 24 y/o or younger this place is for you. Reminds me of college for sure. If it's a college bar you're looking for then you're good. Obviously. I'm bias because of I'm not in college anymore so take this with a grain of salt. HOWEVER, there's one thing I can't stand more than obnoxious frat boys.... and it's BAD FRIED PICKLES! No!!! I LOVE fried pickles and this place just didn't cut it. Overly fried, not enough pickle- tastes like straight batter. Lame. Only saving grace is we had an excellent server who ran on either adderall or jet fuel. She saw all the tables while it was somewhat busy and was totally on it! Never had to ask for refill- she just got it. Excellent service.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Country Club is hand's down the best bar on the block. The staff is by far the best which makes this an unreal experience. I've been inside some other spots and there is no comparison. Whether you are looking for a good sports bar to watch a game, or come before and after a Cubs game, this is the spot to be. And don't worry, at night and on the weekends they have unreal DJ's like COLE and DJ SPANKY. They don't just play strictly Country music; they'll mix in top 40 and great mash ups. Lastly, if you are here during the Christmas season, this spot transforms into CHRISTMAS CLUB which is BY FAR the best seasonal pop up bar in the city. Come here, you will not be disappointed!

Jenna S.

Yelp
This was a decent spot for Thursday night Trivia in Chicago. I'll be honest: I hate Wrigleyville. I hate the Cubs, I hate the atmosphere of Clark St., I just hate all of the bro-ery. But, I come here occasionally when I need a trivia fix and there's only a few places in the city hosting. On a Thursday night the bar wasn't too packed which was nice. The music was kind of loud considering how few people were around but that was fine with us. I'm not a fan of country music so I wouldn't come here just to listen to the music but this seems like a good place if you're into that sort of thing. The service was great. They had taco and beer specials and our server was very attentive so props to her for being awesome. However... the food was kind of a let down. The popcorn chicken was seasoned very bizarre-ly. I ordered the Nashville hot and it just seemed like each bite was barely coated and not very hot at all. I don't know how they coat the little things but they weren't covered in very much of anything so I was just kind of eating plain chicken pieces. It was not very good. My friend said the tacos were decent and definitely great for like $2 or whatever they were charging but not that good for full price. I'd say they may want to rethink their food menu and revamp it to make things more flavorful. I like the *idea* of some things on the menu but they just weren't very tasty. I'd come back, especially if I read the menu changed or got updated. I like the decor alright and there was plenty of seating on a weeknight. I imagine this, like every bar along Clark, is awful on Friday and Saturday nights so I'll always avoid unless someone has a wristband party or something.

Yelp
I thought I could never love another... Especially the country replacement of my beloved Rebel. I was wrong. The dudes behind Waterhouse, Pitchfork and the dearly departed Rebel have killed it with Country Club. This space has always been a safe haven from the typical Wrigley bros, but now it's dolled up and decked out in gorgeous new wooden floors, vintage bright lighting above, and sumptuous moss green fabric accenting the booths and bar stool backs. (Bar stool backs are imperative, people.) Even the bar itself has been treated to a fresh top and creative display of CC's bevy of liquors. The little bit of food I tried I'm ashamed to say I hoarded and devoured. I knew I would love the pulled pork sliders, because pork, but I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the Fireball-glazed chicken wings. Yah the same devil of a liquor you swear off every Sunday morning? The chef at CC managed to turn that devil into your new best friend. The sauce was sweet and flavorful and had just a mild kick to it. I didn't even need to curse it the following morning. The biggest difference of Country Club, and the one I was most hesitant of, was the change in music. Laugh all you want, but this West Virginian has yet to meet a twangy tune she liked. And CC is all about the country jams. But honestly, I either didn't notice it was an overtly country song playing, or it was a more rock/pop country song that even I could get on board with. Who knows, after a few months you may just see me owning the new and very large VIP-ish booth by the bar singing along to every song. I'll curse and blame Fireball the following morning, of course. It turns out I can love another.

Sarah S.

Yelp
I went here for a Bachelorette Party Crawl and I think me and the other 16 girls would agree this was the best spot of the night. It was last stop which we arrived at about 12:30 and we had a lot of fun times. Really good music, we were able to grab a table, good drink prices = a lot of fun for us! This is a great spot for a Saturday night and definitely a great place to arrange as a spot on a bar crawl. Keep me in mind though, it is Wriigleyville and you are still surrounded by the usual Wrigleyville crowd. It's a bit less douchey then places like Barley Corn though. It's about as good as it gets in the Cubs blocks! :)

Lulu R.

Yelp
Cute little bar located in Wrigleyville. I like that down homlike feel to the place. Unpretentious. After a while of bar hopping in Wrigleyville, everything becomes a blur but Country Club Stood out. They have the sweetest bartenders and blaring music, not just country music either. There is really something for everyone there. Lots of room to "boot scoot boogie" or just plain ol' boogie. There is an upstairs part to the bar and is very spacious when you aren't in the high traffic areas. Plenty of seating with some good cocktails. I did not partake in either but everyone seems to be having a blast. Come here for a night out without having to dress to the nines with your pals. I suggest that if you decide to come to Wrigleyville, don't drive. Parking is a mess and is not free. It is public transportation accessible with lots of pay lots.

Becky N.

Yelp
A huge f*** you to the bartender that physically pulled the drink out of my hand rather than honor my St. Patrick's Day bar crawl voucher. A huge THANK YOU to our server for fixing it

Courtney D.

Yelp
Kate is the best bartender in Wrigley! She was so nice and had the best food suggestions. Can't wait to visit her again :)

Andre W.

Yelp
Cool spot in Wrigley! Came here for a pre & post Cubs game event on a Saturday morning in the upstairs area. Staff is really cool and they made sure the drinks kept a flowing. The bouncer is a really cool dude and def kept us entertained

Anthony M.

Yelp
I am basing this review on coming into watching the Illinois/Wisconsin game a few weeks back. Maybe it was too early, but they were not on their game! I arrived to find out that I am the only person here to watch the Illini game, but I had a larger group coming a little later. I asked if they could put the Illini game on the TV and they said sure, but they only put it on in front of me and kept all the other TVs on other stations. Finally, another person from my group showed up and he asked if we can turn off the country music so that we can hear the game. Mind you, we are the only two people in this bar. Our server went to the manager and she was told "No". No? How can you be an Illini bar and not play the game? It is not like we were intruding on any other patron's experience. Anyway, we quickly paid our bill and got out of there. We ended up at the Wisconsin bar across the street and was able to watch the game. They lost a group of 8 because they didn't want to put on the game! Never again!

Taylor L.

Yelp
Sam at Country Club is the kindest most accommodating bartender! She is sweet and so much fun. Come to country club for a good time!

Eva J.

Yelp
Its the old Rebel. Same crappy drinks. Bro hotel. Horrible music. Smells like a wet dog in there. Ladies BEWARE!!!!!!!

Keeka K.

Yelp
Super cute theme for a sports bar. If you're from the south and feeling nostalgic, this is the place to head, for a campy experience. They have great southern menu options, trivia Tuesday's and 50 cent wings on Wednesdays. The fried pickles are great!

Ted C.

Yelp
I've been here twice now. The first time was as a a post-Cubs game stop. It was really busy and despite the busy atmosphere-which was notably crowded and our waitress really only messed up once-by forgetting our third round of drinks but she made up for it by giving us a round of Jaeger bombs to make up for it. The buffalo wings were really good. I usually don't like barbecue wings-but the ones here were actually quite good and the traditional wings were tasty, hot but not too hot. I had to keep myself from eating them all by myself. The latest visit though was a little different it was definitely just straight alcohol consumption. While busy it wasn't too hard to get the attention of the bartender who was quick to get us our round. We came near closing time but wasn't too rushed by the bartender. Not a bad place for Wrigleyville.

Elana L.

Yelp
This is what Chicago represents, great food, great drinks ,friendly people, and an inviting, fun atmosphere. The Christmas theme made this experience so festive and perfect for the time of year. If you are looking for an enjoyable, fun night out, The Country Club is number one on my list!

Laura B.

Yelp
Do not do the 35$ drink package for birthdays or parties if you plan on drinking hard liquor. They barely put any alcohol in the drinks. Service also is not up to par it took 25 min to get a drink and they won't let you order more than one at a time.

Robert S.

Yelp
For the holidays this place is called Christmas Club and the place is decorated for the holidays much like the rest of Wrigleville. Place was busy, and the had a few good rotating taps.

Angela L.

Yelp
This place is just ok. Came here after Luke Bryan to an insanely crowded main floor and was actually very relieved to get upstairs where I could get to the bar, get a drink, be by the AC, and even sit for a minute! Music was good. Crowd was ok. Drinks I think are insanely expensive but I can't say it's anything way out of the ordinary for the area. On our way out the music got reaaaaallly good and by that I mean like 90's-00's boy band good so that was a great exit. I'd try it again on a non-concert non-game night!

Tracy R.

Yelp
We ordered food for delivery, a chicken Caesar salad and a burger with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were coated in cinnamon, which was unpleasant. The burger meat tasted unseasoned and dry and the bun was soaking wet. I threw it in the garbage after a few bites. My fiancé said the salad was okay but his lettuce was weirdly hot. I do not recommend this place for food.

Chris M.

Yelp
Thanks for the apology. I get it must be hard to run an establishment on Clark, but bad service is an easy fix. We'll be back soon. Good luck this summer.

Suzannah S.

Yelp
A decent sports bar in the Wrigleyville area. We came in for dinner so I can't say anything about the bar drink-wise, but it was eh. While the interior is cozy and the food was fine, there was nothing special about the place. There's definitely better places in the area, but it's not a horrible spot to sit down for standard country inspired fare.

TJ C.

Yelp
This place is so much fun. Big Tom is the best. Will be there every Thursday night to see him.

Chris N.

Yelp
We rented a private space at Country Club for a surprise birthday party and it was outstanding. Great tunes and the service was much more than expected. We all enjoyed the atmosphere and the layout. The food and drink packages met our budget and exceeded our expectations. If you find yourself needing a place to host a special party in wrigleyville do give Country Club consideration. The bar on the main level was also a great space. Everyone was having a great time and as a person who has frequented a few bars in my day I would def saddle up for a few suds next time I get to a game or concert around Wrigley.

Sarah G.

Yelp
Wanna enjoy some ice cold beer, yummy food and a little country music before the game then this is the place! We stopped in for a little sustenance before a Cubs game and I was pleasantly surprised on the overall experience. They serve beer in 24 oz cans and give you a koozie that you can use to keep it cold but also get to take home as a souvenir. The food took a long time to come out, even for how busy they were, but it was worth the wait. Everything was really fresh and had a lot of flavor. The front of the bar has Windows that slide open so you can get some fresh air and do some people watching. This place is on my list of "must go to" bars in Wrigley

Mike B.

Yelp
Well, if you like country I'd say it's a pretty decent watering hole; if not, I'd avoid. I did the $30 all you can drink deal for top shelf liquor, which was definitely a rip off. I'd get a gin and tonic and they'd give me a well gin, even after I asked. In the 3 hours I was there, I was only able to get 6 drinks, which is still a good deal; but those drinks were a pain to get. Decent but not amazing.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Frat boy here frat boy there frat boys everywhere! I didn't think you could fit so many tough guys in one room and not have it explode! Seriously I thought I warped back in time and was back at Eastern Illinois for Greek rush week. Are you sure you want to charge me 5 dollars for a Miller Lite? I understand it's Wrigleyville, but c'mon it's Miller Lite. Once the game was over the music started which consisted of Bon Jovi, AC/DC, than wait for it...Chris Cross. Jump Jump the fuck out the door. The one plus is that Sean Kingston is the bathroom attendant. Oh he's going to take me yes take me there. Take me somewhere else Sean. Yes, the wait staff is kind of cute, but you can get that at most places. I probably won't be back.

Alain F.

Yelp
Thid place is all about money... came her for New Year's Eve spent way over $100 on TIP alone and when we asked for a drink we were told... "it's time to start paying" our bar tenders name was zac.. what an a hole. This place is garbage

Diana R.

Yelp
This place serves food? I ended up here last night after the Newbie Event. Someone said Rebel. I have to admit, I was like with a name like Rebel I was thinking it was going to be an edgy, cool, out of control bar... but the only thing out of control was me and other fellow Yelpers haha. We made up a dance floor in the walk aisle so if you were walking by, I probably bumped into you. Danced here all night to who knows what kinds of songs! The service was good, we had a waitress and she was pretty attentive, but then again it was a Tuesday night. The bathrooms were standard, nothing special. The decor of the bar didnt really stand out to me. This place was fun as an after party spot. I should go again earlier in the night to see if this place is really worth its salt.

Polentone A.

Yelp
Was here for a going-away party....or was it a try at making a world record that night of how many people can fit into a single building? I counted: two bachelorette parties, our going-away party, a birthday party, a softball team outing, and then a gigantic group of frat boys (or was that just a bunch of doods having a bros night out?) on top of the vast number of people already in there. There was absolutely no room to move. It took an eternity to get something from the bar. Great music. Like, totally. "You Shook Me." "Pour Some Sugar on Meh." And other standard "bar" tunes that are sooo much fun to shout along with. It took several minutes trying to get upstairs through the crowds. Same in reverse. And the name "Rebel" is supposed to make the clientele feel "cool" and "edgy" for going out in Wrigley? Oh, there's also an attendant in the can.

Monika M.

Yelp
Website shows "no reservations required" walked in and the bartender very rudely said "the website is irrelevant due to covid" completely would understand if they didn't update it with their Christmas menus and pictures.

Ericka A.

Yelp
Rebel knows how to host! I just went my first Hash Run last night and Rebel was kind enough to be our pre-run and post-run party place. They took care of us with 1/2 price drafts and well drinks (available to everyone on Thursdays) and lots of water for hydrating. Our bartender was very friendly and chit chatted with the few of us that showed up super early. They gave us the entire second floor for the fundraiser event and had two great bartenders up there filling bucket after bucket of PBR and filling glasses with other draft beers. Matilda and the Pumpkin Ale (not Sam Adams, not sure which brand) were my two favorites. Part of our party package included light bites. They were delicious! We had cheese quesadillas with a tangy cheese sauce and salsa, mini corn dogs with nacho cheese, perfectly battered chicken strips and some of the best Ranch dressing, and the golden goodness of deep fried macaroni and cheese wedges. A part of me died when they ran out, but I'll be sure to come back and order a platter of my own!
