"San Diego export Crack Shack has been making big inroads into greater Los Angeles, including a new warehouse-y space off Green Street in Pasadena that features a back bar with multiple televisions, plus a standalone wall with four synchronized TVs showing one big image of the game." - Farley Elliott

"Crack Shack Pasadena is a new addition to the San Diego-based fried chicken mini-chain, located inside a retrofitted former warehouse on Green Street. The restaurant features old burnished wood beams, rustic brick, and large windows for sunlight. It offers a variety of fried chicken dishes, including sandwiches and chicken oyster bites, along with a full lineup of cocktails, beer, and wine. Unique to this location is a brined chicken thigh 'pastrami' sandwich with sauerkraut on marble rye bread. The restaurant officially opens on Monday, November 12, with hours from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. most days, extending to midnight on Friday and Saturday." - Farley Elliott

Great fried chicken, tender and tasty biscuits, well-seasoned fries, and fresh iced tea combined to make a delicious meal! I love the great food, fun environment, and friendly staff. Several interesting sandwiches are also offered, but I enjoy the fried chicken so much that I haven't tried one yet.

Love this spot. Was happy to see they were finally opening one close to where I live. The chicken is succulent and the sandwiches are amazing. The firebird and the Malibu Barbie q are my favorite. Cool atmosphere here including a full bar in the back along with some pasadena theming on the walls.

Wow. This place is terrific. The atmosphere is casual but classy. The menu is is an interesting mix of Sandwiches, Bowls, and the ever so AMAZING Fried Chicken. Seriously, this is some special chicken. The quality and freshness is almost impossible to find elsewhere. The schmaltz fries were simply delicious. I honestly think they must but real crack in them. Every detail was great, right down the the sauces offered on their condiment bar. I wish there was a location closer to me. Pasadena is about an hour drive but you can bet I will be back often never the less. Don't hesitate, just get in your car and go check it out.

I never knew fried chicken sandwiches could taste so good, and I can thank the Crack Shack for enlightening my taste buds. I got the firebird, which is a little spicy but very delicious (have to mention the crunchy/tasty pickles are a perfect addition). The fries are crunchy. The sauces are great. They serve alcohol and beer and even have a small bar area in the back corner. The place is well lit and spacious. They even have a handwashing basin in the front of the restaurant. It's in Old Town so you'll have to park in a structure or get lucky with street parking.

Yes! Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes. Yes to everything about this place. Yes to the excellent sandwiches (Coop Deville was tasty, and the Firebird was just the right amount of hot). Yes to the flavorful fries (and the variety of sauces). Yes to the friendly staff. Yes to the Lemonade (gotta go lemonade when eating chicken). Yes to the setup (plenty of large tables for groups, lots of TVs, and a small kids play area). It's going to cost you a pretty penny but the food here is so good they earned that bump.

My 5 pillars that define a good restaurant: Food (0-10): 7 The chicken is good but not amazing. You can definitly feel that is not organic. It is hard to find healthy choices here. The use so much bread in their sandwichs. The bread is so thick. They can't do lettuce wrap sandwishs. They can only no bread sandwichs which are just chicken with no bread. Service (0-10): 8 Had a bad experience with the person I ordered from but the other servers see so much nicer Cleanness (0-10): 10 The place is very clean. Yet the kitchen is not see through so you cant tell what's inside. Aesthetics of the place (0-10): 10 The place is so big and nice. Many many tables so you can always find a place even when you are a big group Location (0-10): 10 Pasadena is great but it is hard to find a parking. You have to pay and park far

Over these couple of years, more and more fried chicken cafes have emerged. Some are good and some are not. I must say I really like the taste and texture of Crack Shack. My wife and I decided to share the Senor Croque sandwich since we are cutting down on fried chicken during the period of Lent, and got the kids meal for my 2 and 7 year old sons. We all like it very much, their fries are very good as well, esp with the cajun like seasoning. We also ordered a milk shake which they used "Afters" ice cream, it was so delicious. I will definitely try their fried chickens some other time.

This place is an absolute gem in Pasadena. I feel very lucky to have one close by. This chicken sandwich is debatably top 3 in my book. I came here on a Saturday night and was recommended by a friend to try the firebird and it did not disappoint one bit. I love the flavor of the sauce they put on the chicken. Not too spicy with a light kick. The fried onions and pickles add so well to the sandwich. Their ranch is some of the better ranch I’ve had too. My favorite part of the chicken is how juicy and tender it is on the inside while keeping a perfect crunch on the outside. The fries are addictive as well, a little on the salty side but I still loved them. The price is also a little expensive but well worth treating yourself to once in a while. 10/10 would recommend
