A Giant New Orange County Project Promises Craft Beer, Steaks, and a Swimming Pool | Eater LA

"Planned as a higher-end, open-fire restaurant occupying both floors (and possibly the cellar) of the 1911-era Craftsman-style home on the Leisuretown site, the Craftsman will lean more steakhouse than the prior operator, replacing the coffee station with a cocktail program and promising a menu built entirely around 100 percent open-fire cooking using a new Fatstack Smoker; partners Isaias Hernandez and Brad Kominek aim for a (hopefully) April opening and for Kominek’s beers to be brewed on-site to pair with the food." - Sean Vukan

I reserved a lunch spot here for Saturday noon. Upon arrival we were taken to our table right away. I was mesmerized by the stunning interior of the restaurant. The closed outdoor had the beautiful leafy decor hanging from the ceiling. The sitting area inside also had rustic wooden furnishing alongside a big bar. The menu had lots of good appetizers, burgers, salad and entrees. We started with the delicious calamari plate. Unlike other places, this dish wasn’t plain, they had some cucumber and greens with it too. I got the crabby patty for entree. It was a good burger with moist soft crab cake patty. The short rib skillet was also an excellent dish. Really well flavor steak, eggs were nicely cooked. We also got the berry waffle that was fluffy and sweet, with strawberry, blueberry and whipped cream on top. We all liked all the dishes we had The service was nice. Our server was mostly on top of everything despite serving multiple tables. Other staff members were also assisting with cleaning out empty plates. Overall this was an exceptional dine-in both esthetically and food wise.

I had a wonderful experience at The Craftsman in Fair Lawn, NJ. The service was excellent — the staff were attentive, polite, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. All of the food we ordered was excellent, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was just okay, but that’s a small detail compared to how pleasant the overall experience was. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. I would absolutely love to go back!

Garden and flowery decor inside the restaurant. Unique and beautiful for the dining area. Food is great. Love the calamari. The lemony dressing on top with light salad go very well with the calamari. I also had steak and egg. They were cooked beautifully. Flavorful. I wish the portion is bigger. Service is great. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious seating. Bathroom is clean. Definitely a good place for brunch or date nights.

My friends and I visited on a Friday night, and when we first arrived, it wasn't very crowded. However, as the evening progressed, the place did get quite busy, which created a lively atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the ambiance was truly enjoyable, with a great vibe that made the whole experience feel comfortable and welcoming. The only downside I would mention is the valet parking. While I understand the convenience for some, I personally didn't see the need for it, especially since the parking lot is directly attached to the building. It felt a bit unnecessary to have someone park my car when I could have easily walked just a few steps to park and head inside. Overall, though, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely consider coming back again!

In April, we hosted a birthday brunch at The Craftsman for 24 people, which was incredible! We were seated in the garden room with stunning decor that required no additional embellishments. The ambiance was breathtaking, creating an intimate yet spacious atmosphere. We chose the brunch buffet, which was far from a typical buffet. The food was flavorful and abundant, and our multicultural guests thoroughly enjoyed it. The team was accommodating regarding dietary restrictions, ensuring everyone was well taken care of. The creative drinks were delightful and added to the overall experience. We returned the weekend after Mother's Day for brunch, which was just as amazing! Phil, in particular, was a pleasure to work with, personally handling the setup and serving drinks. Our servers (Angel, Ashley & Taylor) were attentive and friendly, contributing to our wonderful experience. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will return for future events and brunch or dinner on a regular day.

Came here to catch up with a friend over brunch. Perhaps this is a better spot for dinner, but based off today’s experience not looking to test that theory out. The food was underwhelming. While the grits delivered on cheese it had an overwhelming amount of salt, and so did the shrimp which made it hard to get through. Meanwhile the fried calamari was soggy, and under seasoned. The plain wings were okay, nothing special. I had a glass of the cold pressed watermelon juice, which was served warm and tasted watered down. As for the service… it felt rushed. The waiters only showed up to ask if they could take our plates, while there was still food on them. They handed us the dessert menu while we were still eating. They handed us the check without us asking for it. There were plenty of open tables, so not sure why we were being subtly kicked out. The restaurant itself has a rustic/industrial/glam vibe which would be cute if it wasn’t so dark. Not in a sexy mood lighting type of dark, but a suffocating dark, even the outdoor seating area. And it was so loud, we could barely hear each other over the music and other people yelling.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently hosted my grad party at The Craftsman, and I truly couldn’t have picked a better spot! The food and drinks were amazing!Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The service was absolutely spectacular, every staff member was kind, attentive, and went above and beyond. The atmosphere was perfect, fun, stylish, and welcoming — exactly what I wanted for a celebration. Booking with management was super easy and stress-free, which made the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be going back soon. If you’re in the area, the Craftsman is an absolute must-see!

I decided to take my mom & family here for Mother’s Day for the first time. And let me just say I was impressed! Considering I had never dined in this facility before, I was absolutely taken aback at how good the food simply is. It was a tad pricey but honestly for the portion size it was well worth it. I ordered the beef short ribs. Let me just say, wow! The ribs were tender and flavorful. For the appetizer I order the crab cake and boy it was filled with life and deliciousness! My family found themselves stunned in how tantalizing and mouth watering the their entrees & apps were. The only downside, is the service was lacking but it was to be expected given it was Mother’s Day! I would most definitely go back. I had a pleasurable experience and would recommend anyone I know to check out this place! Hope this review was helpful to others.

Yelp
The food at the Craftsman has amazing flavor, and cooked to perfection every time. Smaller menus really allow the chefs to master the techniques! Our server Alyssa has amazing table side conversation and makes sure you're good while you're waiting. The restaurant is gorgeous and a great time always and it shows based on the people who go there. The plus is they have two sections for seating so you can even have a quieter spot if someone is celebrating with larger parties on the opposite side.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday night and wasn't crowded at all. Interior decor was really cute that kind of reminds you of being outdoors, but still inside. We got there right before happy hour ended so we ended up ordering two appetizers (not pictured). One was the chicken crackling and the other was the shishito peppers. Chicken was alright, pretty basic fried chicken with a garlic-lime aioli sauce. The shishito peppers were surprisingly really good! We thought it was going to be TOO hot, but that wasn't the case at all and we ended up liking that much more than the chicken! We all ended up ordering a signature burger, skirt steak, and the beef short ribs. I got the short ribs, which were just meh.. a good amount of short ribs that did fall apart just right. This was served on a bed of mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Food was warm at best- so this could've probably been a better dish if it was actually hot when served. Sauce on the short ribs was pretty basic and bland, which I guess was fine for a place like this. TBH, I was iffy about ordering any kind of meat dish from a place that looked like your typical in-town bar scene. We also ordered sweet potato fries to share, which were probably my favorite dish, along with the pepper appetizer. This wouldn't be a repeat restaurant for me, but I wouldn't oppose coming here if I was in the area again. I did like that they have different event nights so this might be more fun.

Yelp
Had dinner here with my sister last night. Valet parking. The decor and ambiance inside are very nice. Our waitress was informative and attentive. Waters were refilled. I had the red sangria and it was tasty. My sister had the white sangria and said it was strong. I had the beet salad to start and it was incredible. I followed that up with fries and a well done burger on a gluten free bun. The burger was cooked perfectly to my liking and the fries were delicious. My sister had the Thai chili wings which were very good. We will be back!

Yelp
Yesterday I attended a fabulous event at this wonderful establishment and I can't wait to come back! It was a drag brunch in honor of Mother's Day. The restaurant and the entertainment were both awesome. I will review the event separately. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. The valet service was great. But the food was the best part. For the event it was served buffet style and the offerings were a wonderful brunch selection. The food lineup included fruit salad, garden salad, home fries, sausage links, ham, fried cauliflower, scrambled eggs, steak, Belgian, waffles with fruit, shrimp and grits and pasta with vodka sauce. The restaurant staff was also very warm, friendly and professional.

Yelp
I've been to the Craftsman a handful of times and have never had an issue! They decorate the outdoor dining each season and front entry way to be so cute. The food is consistently good. This time I went with a group of 15 for a birthday day. They offered a pre-fixe menu for $65 per person which ended up being SO helpful. We each got an app, meal and dessert. All we had to figure out were the drinks on the bill which made things so easy! The staff was super attentive and even came out with sparklers and bubbles for the birthday girl. I had the beet/goat cheese arugula salad, the steak and cookie skillet. So happy with my choices!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came to the Craftsman one Saturday night when we were in the mood to try a new restaurant. The place itself is very nice inside and the staff were all very friendly to us. Our waitress was great - very friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were delicious. You can tell some thought was actually put into them and it wasn't all juice or watered down liquor. They had a great taste and a great presentation. As far as the food goes, we really enjoyed our meal. We started with the short rib tacos which were very flavorful and very tender. I honestly didn't expect them to be so good. I opted for the chicken under a brick which was a large portion and very filling. The chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. There was a wide variety of items on the menu and definitely felt like a more elevated yet casual spot. This would be a great place to grab drinks with some friends or stop by late night to hang out.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is amazing. Great vibes and good service. I would give 5 stars but some of the food was slightly bland and fell short. But it was still good overall and a great big selection of drinks. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
We went as an after party spot after celebrating a 40th bday . Didn't try the food only went for night life and it was great! Drinks were beautifully crafted and the DJ really made the vibes flow great! Even though the bar was crowded and noisy my orders were taken and served right away! Would def go back!

Yelp
We stopped by for dinner 2 days ago. Never heard of this restaurants n had good reviews on google ( but not yelp) so thought we'd try. Nice clean restaurant w Valet parking. Friendly welcoming staff. We tried the Caesar salad, arugula n beets n Italian burrata. Was delicious n generous portions. Enjoyed all 3 of them. For entrees had the pan roasted branzino, Cajun Alfredo and rigatoni ala vodka. The branzino was amazing. Crispy w tasty cauliflower puree, garlic broccolini and tomato / olive salad. Am not a fan of olives n forgot to ask them to remove it but it tasted good. The plate was cleaned not a morsel left. Cajun Alfredo was spicy n yummy. Generous amount of shrimp. Rigatoni was good too. Generous portions n we had LO's to bring home. We also wanted to save room for desert as they looked good too. We tried the sweet flight- tasting trio. The tiramisu was heavenly. Yum yum. And the raspberry cheese cake was good. Saved the apple crumb cake for our son who loves it. He enjoyed it. And didn't bother to share w us. Thank you for a great meal. Will certainly come back again

Yelp
Great brunch spot discovered on - you guessed it -- Yelp! Did not disappoint! Brass tacks: - great menu: all the 'usual suspects' your hungover a$$ could want and/or you want to enjoy with your GFs, sisters, etc. - lots of great spaces to choose from- from a dainty, gardenia sun room kinda vibe to a more traditional bar area and dining room. Do you, bruh-- there's a room for that. - they do a drag show think once a month- I haven't seen but check it out sometime. This one just checks all the boxes for me and I don't have more to say than that-- and that's not a bad thing. Like, "brunch?l Yeah, done. And we're good.

Yelp
So, after ages of not seeing one of my best girlfriend, we decided to hit up Craftsman Restaurant. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I was open. First off, the entrance? Pretty nice (don't know if it was because it was valentines week) but it was Instagram. We decided to skip the usual table scene and grabbed a high-top in the bar area. It was super chill, just right for lots of catching up. The food was good, tasty, well put together, and it came out looking great too. And the drinks didn't let us down either. All in all, Craftsman was the perfect spot for a long overdue meet-up. Good food, good drinks, and a laid-back vibe. Definitely check it out if you're in the area and want to have a good time without all the fuss.

Yelp
The place was nice, their outdoor area is renovated and cozy. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, we had a party of 9 and she made sure we were all taken care of at all times. We got some appetizers but the one that I recommend out of all is the calamari, it has a great sauce that gives a hint of asian style dressing! I got their burrata salad and added grilled chicken on top - the salad itself was great but the chicken was somewhat rubbery so I wasn't fond of that. Overall it was a good experience and I would come back.

Love their food and cocktails. Service is attentive and friendly. Consistently good. Lively place so not good for quiet romantic dinner more of a girls night out place

Yelp
First time finally trying The Craftsman and I can't say I will be going out of my way to return here. Upon arriving it is valet only which I am not a fan of people driving and parking my car. But it seems more and more restaurants are starting to be valet only and eliminated self parking. Upon arriving immediately the decor and ambiance are top notch and I truly appreciated the entire building and its layout. We were seated on the bar side at a high top that although the seats are comfortable the table ideally is not designed for eating as it is much too small. Our server started out great and seemed to disappear after our orders were taken. We were given drinks and water almost instantly. I ordered the tequila mockingbird which was delicious and my boyfriend an ipa from their beer list. We started off with the stuffed meatballs and Italian burrata salad. The meatballs were delicious just could have come with more garlic crostinis and a spoon to serve them with. The Italian burrata I should have ordered as an entree. It was perfectly creamy and delicious blend of flavors. I ordered the rigatoni al a vodka with grilled shrimp. It arrived with grilled chicken. No issue as there was no price difference between which protein. However the person who delivered our food was not our server and I could not find our server for at least 20 minutes, by that point I decided I'll just eat this because I am starving. The vodka sauce was lighter than what I was expecting and definitely needed some additional cheese and salt or pepper. My boyfriend ordered the Cajun Alfredo. Definitely was lacking on the Alfredo sauce but the Cajun seasoning packed a decent punch. He ordered it with grilled chicken and said it was good but definitely need more pepper. The food was good but I preferred our appetizers to the main meal for sure. Sadly I would've loved to enjoy a few more cocktails off their menu but ordering anything with our server was near impossible because we could not locate him even when asking those clearing our table. We ate a majority of our meal without being checked on, asked if our food was good, and if we needed additional drinks (which we did, including additional water). When our server came back into the dining area it's almost as he made sure to avoid any eye contact with us when checking on his other tables. Not sure what was the issue as it was not very busy and our server seemed to disappear. Even having our dirty plates cleared seemed to go unnoticed. Very disappointing experience after all of the great reviews and recommendations I've hear about this place. I will definitely keep it to a cocktail bar on my list of places to go.

Yelp
Sunday Brunch was quite tasty. We ordered mimosas, the coconut French toast, although I couldn't taste much coconut, and the big American breakfast. Our server was friendly and checked on us during our meal. It gets loud, since it's a popular spot, so you have to almost yell across the table to hear each other sometimes. We ended up ordering the fried coconut brownies for dessert as well.

Yelp
Food was great! I got shrimp tacos. I got a cinnamon espresso martini and it was my favorite thing ever!!! Service was decent. Its like an upscale sports bar inside.

Yelp
Love the Craftsman! First of all, it's gorgeous. More importantly, the drinks and food are wonderful. Our waitress was great - she helped us picked drinks and even recommended a dressing for us to try with our fries based on our orders! Great place for a girls night or to go watch a game.

Yelp
I attended a celebration brunch for a coworker at The Craftsman, and was pleasantly surprised to find such a nice establishment in Fair Lawn, NJ. We were seated a corner banquet area of what seems to be the room used for group gatherings. There were two birthday groups, and the staff brought out sparklers and bubbles to help them celebrate. There is a separate room with booths and a wall-length bar. The brunch menu offers a variety of appetizers, sandwiches and breakfast items. I chose the Short Rib Skillet topped with sunny-side up eggs which was delicious! The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the meat was "fork-tender." We also enjoyed the coconut French toast and buffalo cauliflower bites for appetizers. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for brunch and for special occasions.

Yelp
Quality service, friendly, one of those places with plate hawks. As soon as a glass was low or a plate looked empty they wanted to clear it. Vibe was chill until the DJ came on around 10 and then it sorta turns into a club atmosphere. Seemed cool, looked like they had a food spread out. Food was solid, standard pricing for this kinda place. Wings were wings, sauce was good, very sticky. A bathroom trip will be necessary to clean off the mitts. The Crispy Duck was very good but it came on the bone so I had to turn into a butcher at the table and make my own tacos. Overall, would recommend & return.

Yelp
I organized Mom's Night Out last December with the help of Jackie, and it couldn't have turned out any better. We had such a great time! The food was great, and our bartender and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The venue was beautifully decorated for the holidays and had heat lamps in the indoor patios area that gave it a warm and comfortable vibe. I definitely recommend this place for parties and events, and look for Jackie to help you out if you decide to do so.

Yelp
Food was good just super heavy! Pre fixed menu for party was a little pricey. Ambiance was gorgeous and service was great.

Yelp
Unacceptable Service on Mother's Day - Will Not Return We came here for Mother's Day with my wife and two young kids, and the experience was a complete letdown. While we were seated quickly around 3:30 PM, we sat for nearly 10 minutes before anyone even greeted us. From there, the service only got worse. Our server repeatedly told us it was "Mother's Day and it's busy" as if that excused the lack of basic service. That's not an excuse--if you're going to accept Mother's Day reservations, you should be prepared to serve customers properly. We asked for straws for our kids twice and never got them--I had to get up and get them myself. Same with a spoon for my daughter's pasta. The server accidentally kicked her high chair at one point and didn't even offer an apology. By the time they finally took our order, it was just past 4 PM and we were told we couldn't order off the main menu anymore--only the prix fixe, which didn't even have a chicken entrée. Then came dessert, and we were told they were out of everything, while other tables around us continued receiving theirs. When we questioned it, the server said she "had no idea" and just assumed they were out. Then, as we were finally getting ready to leave after waiting 20 minutes just to close out, she magically brought one over and tried to say it was "on her"--even though it was already part of the menu we paid for. The food itself was mediocre at best--nothing memorable or worth the hassle. Between the dismissive attitude, poor service, and overall disorganization, this was not the special Mother's Day experience we were hoping for. We will not be returning.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place out for a while. The inside is very cozy. We sat at the bar and ordered some drinks. It's a little on the pricier side. We got the spicy margarita and a drink with egg yolk (which was mine). I left the restaurant with very bad stomach pain from the drink so I would advise against that drink.

Yelp
So we held a 40th Birthday Brunch buffet style and it was amazing. The owner checked in on us periodically and asked if he could do anything or if we needed anything. We added stuff to the menu after the buffet had started and there was no hesitation on their behalf, they accommodated us without any issues. The food was awesome and staff was great...5 plus stars. French Toast, Steak and Eggs, Thai Chili Wings, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Pasta and Potatoes and the add on was Shrimp and Grits which was delicious

Yelp
As a result of not having made Easter dinner plans in advance, we made reservations at this restaurant. While I did not expect a Michelin worthy meal, I was hoping for a decent meal at a decent price and that was not to be had this evening. First, we asked the waitress if she had Diet Coke (not Pepsi, not RC Cola) and she said yes... but low and behold, it was surely flat RC Cola that arrived. She took 2 of them back as requested. When we asked about replacing the broccolini with my daughter's meal we were told no substitutions. Okay, fair enough.... so we tried to order a side of broccoli that we were willing to pay for and the waitress thought we wanted to order another side of broccolini when we did not even want the order that came with the meal. Not the end of the world but..... At the recommendation of the waitress, we were going to take the order of brussel sprouts from the one meal from the person who did not want them and give them to the other guest who did but that did not necessarily happen. The food was fair at best.... the appetizers (meatballs, and shrimp with garlic sauce) were nothing to write home about and the Chilean Sea Bass and the Pappardelle with Crab Meat were both "specials" but there was nothing special about them. I do not think that there was salt or pepper in the Pappardella and to be honest, I am not even sure there was crab. When the bill came, the 2 "diet cokes" were on the bill, the extra order of brussel sprouts were also there even though we technically did not get an extra order and a credit card fee even though we had cash to pay the bill. Now this might not seem like a lot but when tallied, this just over $20 bucks. I wanted to say something but my daughter said "Ma ....it is Easter" so nothing was said. We paid the bill and left. So... the moral of the story is to make sure you make holiday dinner plans in advance!

Yelp
Food and drinks were good, very kid friendly. Service was also good except if felt like you were being rushed out because they were trying to take your plates before you were finished.

Yelp
Today i celebrated Mother's Day at the Craftsman . Our server Alysa was wonderful , very friendly and attentive . We all went with the price fix menu , and were delighted with every stage . Crab cake, lobster egg rolls and Buffalo Cauliflower were all delicious . Followed by branzino with fingerling potatoes, and garlic sautéed spinach , filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and eggplant parm with ratatouille. No one was dissatisfied. Meals were beautiful and delicious . We indulged and tried all three desserts , which were amazing . Atmosphere was warm and friendly . This was our second time here , and has become a favorite !

Yelp
The craftsman has become a go to spot for my wife and me, and we have had always had a great time. The vibe is welcoming and the service never disappoints particularly the bartenders! To celebrate my 50th, we decided to rent the second floor space and it was an awesome decision. The staff took great care of us and the whole event went off without a hitch. The room was perfect for our party, and everyone loved the food and drinks. All in all, the craftsman made my milestone birthday special! Special shoutout to the manager Frank A. From the minute we walked In to see the space to the day of the event, Frank made everything easy and provided exceptional service!

Yelp
Stopped in for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised to have this in town! The bar area has a really nice ambiance. The service was exceptional - the bartender was friendly and attentive. We ordered the crab and artichoke dip and jalapeño poppers for appetizers, both of which were very good. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Food: alil pricey but good quality Service: manager was very accommodating to our friend the birthday girl, our server worked hard and was able to keep our orders organized although we were a table of 22. Music: was good when the DJ was there Decor/ambiance: very nice clean, but very small bathrooms, small wait area. Negative: too many drunk locals who don't know how to dance numbing into you and rude as hell. Some girl threw up on the dance floor and that whole area by the booths stunk. However the staff worked diligently to recover from the mess and smell. All and all I will try it again it was nice, but also to give another opportunity to review

Yelp
Interesting math on the receipt. Food was ok, service good. The buffalo wings were good as was the steak and the lamb chops. The salmon piccata not so great - sauce tasted corn starch based and too much of it. Decent beer list, small wine list. $8-10 for beer. $15-$20 for glass of wine. Receipt is confusing - separate prices cash or card, fee to use credit card but suggested tip is based off of the credit card price and fee. Really?

Yelp
Lovely Irish bartender. Martinis that are $20 is insane. I was just in a gorgeous rooftop bar in NYC. Very exclusive and it was $16 a drink. Not in Fairlawn should you be paying this. Price gauging. Learn to make your own and get a bottle for the price of one drink. Food is bar food. Not bad for bar food. Just lower your standards and if you're good with that maybe that's your thing.

Yelp
Stopped in last night for dinner. The short ribs were amazing as always So tender and tasty with crisp onions on top. I could eat this every day of the week Our servers were super attentive but it was a very quiet night. We sat in their enclosed outdoor area. My only complaint is the chairs are uncomfortable and hard to move on the pavers. Everything else was amazing

Yelp
I came extra hungry, but left with much more. The Craftsman is super stylish and hip, and I highly recommend it for a girls night out. When you first walk in you have the bar area to your right, and the dining area to the left. The dining area is where my party and I started, but quickly ended the night on the opposite side dancing the night away and watching a fire show performance. The drinks, although pricey, were poured to perfection- my favorite was the City Citrus. We also got to try delicious cajun shrimp pasta, buffalo cauliflower, and beets/goat cheese salad. The service from hostess to waitress was excellent and professional. Now that you got to the end of this, call and book your reservation!

Yelp
If you want your birthday ruined 100% head to the Craftsman! Got a table for 7 on an empty Saturday for some drinks and apps! Should have known right off the bat it was going to be bad when the waitress Nadia laughed at my sister for ordering a non alcoholic drink.. After we ordered drinks we said we'll just do some apps to where the waitress said you guys can't sit here and not order dinner... we asked her why and she said we need to order dinner too.. never heard of that nor did anyone make us aware. Unfortunately, her piss poor attitude turned us off from celebrating and ordering more rounds of drinks. We decided to request a check and leave. The waitress proceeded to talk about us for the 35 mins we were there and she ruined a party and her tip becuase instead of us all getting multiple rounds and hanging out she got her 20% on a 100 bill and we left. If she wants a sit down service she should go work at Flemings but since she is an awful waitress I get why she's only at the Craftsman. Craftsman should make the rule known but since I'm sure it was a lie I'll stick to real bars from now on!

Yelp
Came here for brunch and will definitely come back for dinner. The restaurant was the coziest spot for brunch on a cold rainy day. Started with Virgin bloody and mimosa which were both made really well. The buffalo cauliflower was delicious! I liked that hot sauce and blue cheese was on side for dipping as sometimes cauliflower is drowning in hot sauce which isn't that good. For brunch entrees I got the fall salad with shrimp and my husband got steak and eggs. My salad was good but the shrimp came out piping hot which isn't ideal with a cold salad. My husband loved the steak and eggs. Portion was nice and steak was cooked to his liking. Definitely want to come back for dinner or one of the many events they host during the year!

Yelp
Came here with friends for a friend's birthday. Drinks were a little pricey but they were very tasty. Bartender was attentive. Only valet parking which we didn't know. Decor was really nice. They have a really nice outdoor area. Will go back for dinner.

Yelp
I made a reservation for a table for a reason, for starters. When I entered, the host asked a series of questions. "Will you be dining or just drinking?" to which I answered "both". "Appetizers or entrees?" (Bizarre questions for a reservation) "um.., appetizers?" (Being that I haven't seen the menu...) We were told "okay well you'll need to look for a seat at the bar or high top if there's one open" Okay.... So why did I make a reservation? If I wanted to sit at a bar or high top, I would've actually just gone to a bar. I made a Saturday date night reservation and it was blatantly disregarded at the door. Yelp
I'm giving 5 stars for the beautiful ambiance and the fact that there's a dj and dancing on Saturday night by the bar! So fun!! Drinks and food were yummy though my salmon was overcooked. But overall I enjoyed the food and would absolutely go back again!! We had a ball! Winners: --The truffle fries were killer!! --Calamari with banana peppers was so tasty! --Beet salad looked beautiful; the dressing on the salad was delicious ---I also loved the cookie skillet dessert though it was surprisingly small as it was a very thin layer of cookie. But I highly recommend! Just don't share it. :)

Yelp
A fun lively spot with great food, apps, & drinks! The signature burger is incredible. The dessert trio was flavorful with the raspberry cheesecake being our fav! Shrimp tacos were fresh & filling as well. The Craftsman is spacious and very clean. Shout out to our fantastic server Taylor who was the absolute best!

Yelp
Horrible service, overpriced drinks, and below average bar food. Would never repeat! Restaurant tries to appeal to a higher end crowd, but is not even on the same level of any restaurant of nearby Ridgewood. Would give zero stars if I could.

Yelp
Nice looking spot; servers where amazing. Mixed drinks are good. The missing element is the food. Nothing special. But would go back for a cocktail.

Yelp
A must try. Having lived locally previously I tend to ride past this place but when asked to try it for the first time it was placed in my places to go and recommend for sure. One thing I noticed was no matter what time of day I went there was specials option for food and or drinks. One time I felt it was so many specials I couldn't keep up as in there was the drink menu, happy hour menu, specials and regular menu... they kept falling on the floor cause we had no place to put it all after our drinks arrived. Anywho ! (Who doesn't love a special lol) the food and drinks were great. A better mention is the vibe. Great place to get a little fancy, grab a drink and enjoy the obvious upgrades and decor of the place. I have only been seated outside and no matter the weather it's been comfy. Would totally suggest you try this place with your friends, on a date or even family (the cool ones lol) !

Yelp
(I'd probably give it 3.5 stars if permitted) Located maybe 100 yards from the Maple Street bridge into Paterson, this is the newer NJ location as there is an older NYC one. Plenty of parking, but (at least) on weekends, valet only. Very Clubby. Late operating hours, happy hour, late niht menu, cranking tunes and TVs by the bars means this place is more focused on drinking. Mostly customers in their 20's and 30's having a good time. Can be very loud, at least in the 2 ground floor dining rooms I was in. Place does get packed. Service can be very good or ok. Young Staff. Management needs to tell some of the staff ( bartenders & hostesses) that this isn't Studio 54 in it's hey day. Smile a little. Everyone of ALL ages want to be treated nicely & professionally. They had a good cocktail menu, beer list was ok. But the food was flat. There were 4 of us who all shared our apps & entrees and there was not a memorable dish here. Menu offers items from all cuisines. Stuffed meatballs. crab cake, crab & artichoke dip, all tried. They were ok..... BEEF SHORT RIBS---Red Wine Braised Beef Short Ribs/ Mashed Potatoes/ Green Beans/ Short Rib Gravy/ Crispy Onions again good, that's it. I don't see the rack of ribs on the current menu ...Good move. Ribs don't belong in a club which is what this is. Hey I was in my 20's and 30's once. Hitting bars & clubs. Food was basically consumed to keep drinking or after drinking a lot. Drinks 1st priority. Food 2nd. And if you are ok with this, then you'll really like The Craftsman. It seems to be working good for ownership too as the place does pack them in.

Yelp
Food was very good a bit pricing. Had the braised short ribs and the cauliflower vegan dish. The stuffed meatballl app was very good. The ambiance was nice. The service was good, could have been better felt a bit rushed. Overall I would go back! I don't appreciate a $5 credit card fee, owners you are charging more than good money on your food and drink you don't need that fee. Your establishment was busy last night. You are only hurting your staff with less tips. I own a business and stop the credit card fee two years ago!
