Honeyland — A Black Food and Beverage Festival Headed for the Houston Area — Announces a Hot Lineup | Eater Houston

"Set for Nov. 11–12 at Sugar Land’s Crown Festival Park, this two-day event spotlights the creativity of Black professionals across food, beverage, music, and art with demonstrations, cook-offs, panel and podcast conversations, and multi-stage concerts. Headline performers include Grammy-winning singers Mary J. Blige and Jazmine Sullivan as well as Nigerian artist TEMS and Chlöe Bailey, alongside a strong Houston presence — DJ Mr. Rogers, Dende, Lenora, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Scarface, Lil Keke, Z-Ro, and Tobe Nwigwe serving as the event’s Houston ambassador. Culinary programming is curated by lauded chef and TV personality Marcus Samuelsson and features Houston chefs such as Chris Williams (Lucille’s), Dawn Burrell, Kavachi Ukegbu (Art of Fufu), Keisha Griggs (Kuji Kitchen/Black Chefs Table), Shawn Osbey (Kulture Kitchen), Steve Rogers (Bar 5015), and Bun B (Trill Burgers), while beverage and spirits programming is led by Fawn Weaver (whose Uncle Nearest whiskey honors Nathan “Nearest” Green). Produced by Live Nation Urban in partnership with IMG, the festival aims to celebrate Black food, drink, and music, hire and work with local and diverse businesses, and invest $1 million in grants, training, and career-development support for Black creators in Houston. Two-day general-admission, VIP, and platinum passes were made available online in July (with general sales beginning July 21 and early access for newsletter subscribers); a full schedule of multi-stage programming will be announced later." - Brittany Britto Garley

The staff people to include everyone at the gate and entrances, the ones on the carts giving lifts the 2nd night were awesome. Happy to have us there. The food trucks were amazing and the prices were not too bad. The entertainment was great! I really enjoyed myself.

The park is brand new. I was there for the first July 4th kick off of Fireworks. I enjoyed my time with my family. The Sugarland Community really came together. They had one of the best shows. There were people pulling over and watching from the freeway and in the parking lots nearby. It was a PACKED HOUSE and they did not disappoint us.

We were here on May 10 for the jazz festival. The music was great, the food was great. Getting to the venue? A solid zero. We Uber'd because we live in central Houston, and the Uber driver couldn't figure out how to get in for the longest time. Going home, same thing, the driver couldn't figure out where we were or how to get there. Maybe make better signage, because we rode around forever trying to get there.

The honey land festival was amazing, MARY J Blige was the headliner, amongst other amazing artist. Looking forward to seeing what they do next year.

Wet, swampy, ride share drivers can't access the place. The two bands we came to see were great. The rest of the place sucks so bad.
