My Colombian partner and I used to enjoy going to Cuban Corner for dinner frequently 4-5 years ago, despite the propensity of the owners to display placards from bigoted Republican politicians all over the place. The food was authentic, excellently prepared, and generously portioned. The service was excellent. But something changed a few years ago (ownership?).
For the last few years, every time we've gone there the quality of the food has been in decline, to the point we don't go anymore. At the same time, the prices have escalated. The cooks aren't even Cuban anymore.
For us, it's been sad to see such a local gem turn into a run-of-the-mill place with overpriced, uninspired food. We can only hope that someone tries to open another Cuban restaurant in the area sometime soon, as we're now lacking a good one.
