The Seattle Gay Bar Guide - Seattle - The Infatuation

"The Cuff has gone through a few ownership changes over the years, but it stands tall as part of Capitol Hill’s nightlife. It’s known historically as a leather bar, though all are welcome, even if you forgot your harness at home. Note that covers are cash-only, there are bar games like darts and pool, and the disco balls are plentiful." - aimee rizzo

Bad, nasty experience here during my first days in Seattle. I came into around 8pm when not much people were around. The door man asked me for my passport or driving license, but I only carried my national ID (from other country). He didn't even accept my UW ID card. I was about to leave when this (white) employee asked me if I was a delivery guy. He assumed that since I'm Latino I have that type of job. But I didn't mention anything about delivery nor I was wearing a uniform Super unpleasant experience. Please, educate your staff.

I’ve had several negative experiences with one of the staff members at The Cuff Club, a man who sometimes works security and other times as a bartender. He has treated guests, including myself and my friends, with unnecessary rudeness and has even yelled at patrons without clear cause. It creates an unwelcoming and hostile atmosphere that goes against the inclusive vibe the club is known for. I hope management addresses this behavior, as it really affects the overall experience for many of us who come to enjoy a safe and respectful environment

Google
Pride bait and switch! Myself and a group of friends got to cuff around 945 and all paid the steep $75 entrance fee.Half of the group went to the bathroom and when we came back they were putting up barricades and if you weren't inside the barricade you were pushed outside. This was not mentioned when we just purchased our tickets. The other half of the group was inside the barricade and got to go inside , but we were stuck in a line that didn't move , as the venue was at capacity. Such a shady move by cuff ! Do not recommend.

Upon leaving, my friend was slapped across the face by a customer after being accused of being “under 21.” Yes — by a customer. Eventually, we walked up to a bouncer — in this case, “scary Anne” — (a nickname given by their colleague.) Scary Anne refused to believe my friend was slapped as they, “didn't see it,” therefore claiming it didn’t happen. Thankfully, Psalm (a worker) came outside and formally apologized on their behalf and stated that they would report the incident as they took a pic of the rude customer who hit my friend. Thank you Psalm for your kindness, and help <3 This was very disappointing to be dismissed and treated unfairly by the previous worker. For that I am leaving a 1 star review :(

The place was amazing for dancing. Wish they had a couple local beers on tap, but I loved my experience there!

Google
We always have a great time at the cuff, but lately there has always just been too few bartenders at special events and the lines to get a drink get a little out of hand! 30-40 minutes for a drink takes time away from enjoying the atmosphere and dancing the night away. Hopefully this is just temporary!

Jeff Wallin

Google
Rundown 80s vibe. The music and atmosphere felt like we were stuck in the 70/80s the music is so dated it’s not relevant to today’s crowd. The downside is that there aren’t many clubs around the area so of course people still go. But given more options with better music this place would lose a lot of business. The cash cover when you walk in the door is annoying. It’s 2023. Also if you’re going to have a cash cover maybe have an atm before the entrance so the line isn’t being backed up waiting for people to get cash to proceed. GET BETTER DJs. Play music people actually enjoy.

Brandon Cox

Google
Paid cover and then my friend was ignored by the two bartenders when trying to get us drinks even after moving to different places around the bar. I asked to get my cover back before leaving because they ignored us trying to buy drinks and was told we had to stand in a certain place at the bar to get drinks. I watched other people walk up to the same places he was standing and get served, so absolutely do not recommend this bar. Spend your money elsewhere. Had very pleasant experiences at Diesel and Pony.

Yelp
Ahh, what can I say about this place, I thoroughly enjoyed bringing my besties here when they visited Seattle from San Francisco and LA. I loved that they didn't have a cover, and the vibes were so fun!! Sadly, we only got to belt out a few songs before they closed the karaoke, but it was a Sunday, so we totally got it, they close early. There were some singers in here that sounded hella professional, like they literally should be recording artists (or maybe they are in their free time?). The talent, the heavy pour drinks (for the price), and the friends you can make here were so awesome. It's a no-judgement zone too which is key, we were dancing to some of the songs and joined the singers on stage as their backup dancers, ha ha. Such a good time here. FYI, you can order food from CapHill Kitchens next door, they have a variety of foods and they bring your order to you here. Will 100% be back, loved loved the vibes.

Yelp
Over the years The Cuff has been a mainstay within the Seattle community. Longstanding patrons and newcomers alike have enjoyed the safe space that Cuff provides. Recently (within the last year) a lot of very positive changes have been made at The Cuff to make it even more enjoyable. Some of this is personnel (Joon is an amazing, friendly, and focused GM), some of this is policy (thank you Seattle for updating its liquor control board policies), and some of this is programming (have you sang at the Karaoke nights or played Loteria yet?). For sure, my greatest compliments go to Joon (aforementioned GM) for putting her heart and soul into creating an updated and contemporary space for all communities. She's tough, she's a shrewd business woman, but she's also super approachable and willing to listen to new ideas. And, she's friendly and always happy to say hello. Eric at the front door -- equally nice, focused on keeping people safe, no bullshit, but friendly and kind to anyone who merits it. (He's also super cute.) The music is usually great (personal preference here only -- some DJs aren't my style) and there is plenty of variety to please any taste. The patio is a destination for summer evenings on Sundays, dancing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights is always fun. Yeah, sure, it can be crowded at times but hey, that's just because it's a space where people want to hang out. Lots of options for LGBTQ+ spaces in Seattle -- The Cuff continues to create one of the best places to be.

Yelp
This is difficult to write, because overall I did have fun here with my friends, and could feel that it was a safe space for queer people -- but I have opinions. First, bars/clubs that require cover should be more comfortable and upscale, in my opinion. It's not like Seattle is New York or LA. There are less than a million people in the city; so I don't understand charging for patronage when you're barely even a blip on the tourism radar. Second, the drinks were a bit expensive to be so mediocre; and my limes were no joke rotten: I saw the marketplace prices for fruit. There's no excuse. HOWEVER, the music was great to dance to. I enjoyed their patio area, and the staff were all very kind and friendly. Like I said, they made sure that it felt like a safe space for everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community. That'll always mean something in my book. It's just, like, relax with the prices, y'all -- it's a polite suggestion. Humble thyself to the fate of NW notoriety.

Yelp
This place is fun, horny men women and other and GREAT DANCE MUSIC, but the doorman announced immediately upon entry "$10.00 CASH only please, we have an ATM right here!" Ok, I said! It was great BC the ATM is literally right next to him! he says leave your ID here, but BC it's easier to just leave my entire wallet, instead of extracting the ID, and I WAS 2 feet away! I use the ID but happen to turn around quickly and see HIM rifling through my entire wallet (looking for cash or ?) I challenged him and he just said "have a nice day" I wanna kick his thieving ass! !

Yelp
Fyi, you shouldn't send a fraudulent signed account receipt, that says "customer copy".... I had contacted American Express and said this was not the correct amount of my tab. I disputed a little bit of this bill! But then you forged my signature and drinks that I would never drink! You deserve what's coming to you and getting your merchant license revoked! Don't do business with the company that's going to lie about your transactions My personal suggestion, to anybody going to the cuff don't put your credit card down as an open tab! Because you're open tab will become a $100 more advance on your bill than you thought would happen Don't believe me contact American Express, they know about their fraud and dishonesty! They're on their radar and will not stand for a bar forging a signature! Let alone defrauding their customers! Pay cash at the cuff, or don't go to the cuff which is a better option in my opinion! Dishonesty will happen every time you go to the bar! What a dishonest business! Do you want to support a business that's going to rip you off? And sign your name, to a bill that you did not authorized or purchase? Sadly, the cough is a money hungry business not actually having your best interest in you're having a great experience! The cuff.... Is totally dishonest! They will forge your signature and they will forward the amount on your bill! Contact American Express if you don't believe me! If you have $100 to lose then buy all means go to the cuff! Because they're bartenders will rip you off! And so will the management and forge your signature on documentation to the credit card company! They are a fraudulent company that will put you and throw you into the bus! I threw them under the bus and sent in documentation proving that what they sent in was incorrect. What a shameful organization and owners of this establishment! You should be ashamed with supported you when you bought the bar.. and you have treated your customers like they are less than! You are the less than about taking advantage of the community! Shame on you for being a horrible representation of what a bar owner should be you are worthless.. like you treated me!

Yelp
Me and a friend went here last night for karaoke. We reached around 9 and it was pretty quiet. People started coming in after 10. My karaoke experience has been great as well. The staff are very nice too. My friend ordered some food which was pretty good quantity for the price we paid. Would recommend this place for karaoke. They have no designated parking, so street parking it is!

Sal G.

Yelp
The place itself is very cute and put together but as far as service the Caucasian ginger male bartender is very rude , I waited in line for a drink and seen others getting served before me that went up after me . It seems like they pick and choose who to be nice too . Very disappointed
google avatar

Edwin F.

Yelp
They oversell tickets for $40, change terms without notification, then charge others 1/2 the price to be allowed in and then turn you away. This is apparently becoming a very common thing that contributes to fire code violations and severe under-staffing. Greed at its finest.

Yelp
This is the place you wanna be to hang with da Boiz in Seattle. Whenever I come to Portland, this is where you'll find me. It's a great meeting place to hookup with old friend and make new ones. You can dance, hang out in the lounge or kick it at the patio bar. The Cuff welcomes all types, thinks to leather daddies, puppies to nerds, muscle boiz to femboiz. Everyone has a good time.

Sam L.

Yelp
Drinks too expensive and they need to update the decor and more lighting because it's too dark!
google avatar

Daniel W.

Yelp
The cuff is attempting to use its previous identify and failing at it miserably. It has no identify other than a a dance club for twinks. It is definitely not a leather bar! I also don't appreciate being charged $10 to get in and being required to pay this in cash. There are many better bars on Capitol Hill.
google avatar

Erik S.

Yelp
Unfortunately after years I have to lower my rating. The cover charge is getting really expensive, which is lame because the other bars in the area don't charge one, and to be honest the Cuff just doesn't warrant a cover charge. There really isn't anything special about it since the new owners took over. Staff can also be rude. If you want a glass of water make sure to say a GLASS of water, or they assume you want to pay for a bottle. Was rudely told this by a bartender...
google avatar

Caroline P.

Yelp
Straight, cis-gendered female. I've come here from time to time and felt safe and welcomed. As a woman who has been roofied/drugged on Cap Hill (including LGBTQ+ establishments), I find this place to be a safe place. The people here were kind and made sure I was safe. THANK YOU. I dock a star off since a worker, during the day, was pretty rude and made me feel like I had to beg for service. Pretty weird.
google avatar

Holly C.

Yelp
This place is a scam! I bought 4 tickets to their pride event while standing in line. As we are about 10 people away from the entrance the security guard said the club is closed. They are at capacity and won't let anyone else in. I explained to the guard that we bought tickets to the event inside. He said we would have to contact management tomorrow for a refund. I have contact 2 people at The Cuff and See Tickets who was the third party selling tickets. Almost 4 weeks now and still no refund! NEVER BUY TICKETS BEFORE ENTERING!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
This bar definitely does the job. If you're looking for a gay bar that is not at all pretentious in Seattle, look no further than this spot! Good place to grab a beer with friends and they even have a little kitchen but I can't speak to the quality of food. It's more of a divey-leather-bear type bar. Would definitely go again.

Yelp
Was a tad difficult searching for a watering hole that was open due to covid. A waiter at another establishment that owns this bar told us to go to it as it just opened Friday. Big signage that stated the hours and happy hour everyday. We waited for approximately 15 min at the bar and was just ignored. We finally sat down on these bleacher kind of steps and about 5 minutes later the bartender took our order. 8.00/drink although tall doesn't consist of happy hour prices to me. Patrons also seemed very standoffish.

Yelp
I went to Cuff for the first time after hearing absolutely nothing but rave reviews. It is currently 5pm on Sunday October 8th and I felt I had to leave this place. I sashayed in (as I do) had a great conversation with the security guard and bartender. I was impressed with the place and had questions. I ordered a cocktail and went to explore the bar. I come back and the bartender says he doesn't feel comfortable serving me. He had started making the drink then refused me. As a business owner I like for other business owners to be made aware of when they have low vibrational people hurting their business reputation. As a licensed bartender (podcast host - retailer - Air Force Veteran - among other things) myself I know that some bartenders just like to feel like they have power over people just because they feel so inferior and just because they can. I did nothing wrong. I did not stumble in. I also did not slur my speech. The DJ + security guard (who would not have let me in if I was wasted) can vouch for this. This is negative energy attempting to dim my light and I will not let that happen. I walked to a different gay bar and will go back to Cuff and get a different bartender.

Bex S.

Yelp
Creepy people and inconsiderate club. Have the misfortune of living next door and blasting music into 2-4 in the morning including on weekdays despite the fact that in a residential area. They make this block unbearable. Unimaginable to have such little regard for the community.

Warren C.

Yelp
$10 cover fee which is fine if you're playing good music...Only played trap the whole time. No song requests either. I love trap but cmon we need some familiar songs. Great lighting and bar tenders though!

Casey E.

Yelp
I've been coming to Cuff for over 15 years. Cuff was known as a Levi's and Leather bar with a bit of an edge. Unfortunately it was sold in the summer of 2021. The new owners don't seem to be interested or understand what the Cuff's brand was and the importance of this space in Seattle. Today, the Cuff is a bad dance club that looks like a leather bar. Based on my recent experiences, its also no longer a safe space for gay men due to the sheer number of straight women coming in to watch the gays like they would go to the zoo (read the reviews by straight women here on Yelp! for examples). Its really sad, but unless the new owners reverse course I'm likely never going to come to the Cuff again. Its a huge loss to not have a true edgy leather bar in Seattle but that appears to be what the new owners want. Lastly due to the changes described above, multiple LGBTQ organizations no longer feel welcome using the venue and have begun new affiliations with other bars for their club events. I miss the old Cuff.
google avatar

Matt B.

Yelp
Literally a great venue but the music is awful. I know so many regulars who love Cuff but hate the music and I cant understand why they dont change the music. Happy to help if they see this.

Yelp
For the first time EVER in my whole life, I got bounced by the bouncer at this Gay club here in Seattle. It was really strange, I do not like being treated like this, I think that they must have overzealous security now. I went to the club fairly early in the evening. The music was good, so I danced hard but then it suddenly got dangerously crowded. I felt overwhelmed and I had to escape. I went to my car, cooled down, and changed shirts. I thought that I would try again, make the most of the cover charge (I had a wrist band for reentry). But the bouncer said, "We think that you are too drunk," which was not true because I didn't order ANY drinks, not even beer. I was too busy dancing. And then he said, "We also have reports that you were being violent and trying to hit the wall" which is also not true. I was flabbergasted. Finally, a security manager came over and cleared me for reentry, but he also warned me about bad behavior, which was very strange and off-putting. I am a peaceable person! You know, Peace, Love, Unity, Respect (PLUR) like back in the rave days. This particular night club in Seattle (Capitol Hill) has a large downstairs dance floor with a good sound system, I have been here before, but this was a real downer, so I probably won't go back. There are other places that know me, they like the way I dance, and they welcome me with no attitude. Overall a very strange experience when I was just trying to have some fun. Something is wrong here, so I can't recommend it for dancers like me.

Coleton C.

Yelp
I visited here from colorado, and managed to loose my wallet here, the staff were super helpful, and very reassuring, I always felt safe there! The drinks were made amazingly, and being able to dance and meet new people was honestly the best part of my trip!!!!! I would work here just for the amazing service I got! For sure a great place to visit, and frequent!
google avatar

Lee A.

Yelp
Have been going there since they opened always one my favorite places to visit. Esp on Sunday tea dance. Wow has it ever changed under new owners. Rude staff and poor service. They have changed a few things and not for the better in my opinion. Won't be going back any time soon.

Scott W.

Yelp
I was in the bathroom injecting my insulin and this twinky ginger guy kept telling at me about taking too long. I was clearly irritated and got upset with the security guard and told him I have only been in there two minutes and was kicked out. No questions asked. No understanding, no questions... Don't go

Sebastian T.

Yelp
What a sh*t show for Pride. This place has gone downhill after the pandemic. One hour to get a drink. In line. I went to Rhein Haus, Diesel, Union and getting a drink was 10 minutes, tops. Passing on it next year.
google avatar

Josh L.

Yelp
I like the new layout, but the service was absolutely terrible. 45 minutes waiting on food after paying for it, finally stopped the server and asked, and was told they had no cook working.

Evan P.

Yelp
Bartending staff was kind, and the drinks were good, especially for the price point. But tends to be kind of dead before 11p, and therefore really isn't worth paying the cover or coming unless you're trying to spend the end of your night here. Before that, dancing is dead. Music is just okay. Not really worth the cover.
google avatar

Arthur D.

Yelp
Ehhhhh... I went to cuff complex on a Saturday night and honestly? It left a lot to be desired compared to the clubs I'm used to in SoCal. For starters, there was a conspicuous absence of drag queens. I tend to think of drag queens almost as the matron saints of the gay community, and there were none whatsoever here. What does that say about the culture here? Second of all, there weren't any gogo's. For a club this size, I feel like that's a general prerequisite. Does Seattle have some kind of municipal ordinance against gogo dancing? Even at its zenith, around 1:00a, when I left, the club was at like... 60% spatial capacity. I'm used to shoulder-to-shoulder blowouts, and I'm weirded out that one of the biggest clubs in Seattle can't manage that, especially given how many queer people I've seen out in the city. The culture here is definitely different, and it just doesn't seem as much fun as what I've experienced elsewhere. On the bright side, similar to the rest of Seattle, bartenders and coat checks are really nice. Even if I didn't feel quite as entertained, I definitely felt welcomed.

Alvaro P.

Yelp
I understand if you have to talk about customers but please go or move to a place where we can't here what you are saying. It's not ok to make people feel uncomfortable or unwanted in the bar. There was a bit of racism coming from one of the bartenders. I understand you cater to mostly a caucasian people but asking other bartenders to water the drink down is not right.

Brian F.

Yelp
Firstly, I would like to say the bartending staff are very kind even when you get a little testy. My complaint is that I had a partially filled water bottle thrown at me for no reason at all. I told security and the person that did it basically said it was an accident and they did nothing. If you are throwing stuff at people. I believe you should be removed. But this person was white and had "pretty priviledge". I have lived in various places in the USA and outside of it. I have never felt unsafe before especially as a gay person in a supposedly safe space. Be cautious. We all need to try to be better no matter where we are or whom we are around.

Liz S.

Yelp
I was having a fun time last night, but then I saw a girl fall on the floor and get carried out by her friends. It turns out she was roofied. The bar security did not seem very concerned, like that happens all the time. Be careful if you go here.
google avatar

Greg D.

Yelp
A must visit while you're in Seattle! Especially if you're a bear or their admirers because you feel comfortable at this place. Upstairs is a pull table and downstairs is the dance floor and the outdoor bar. There are fun themes like UNDERBEAR events!!! This is a gay bar for the record! And like I said, more of a bear bar/club-- or certainly not a bar that you're going to be judged for your age, shape/size!
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Everything is new in the time of COVID, and my first time out in over a year to a 'club', so that being said... there was still a lot left to be desired. The door staffer was friendly, but not terribly communicative about the line, the 30+ minute wait to get in, nor was he at his station enough to explain the in/out to those who didn't realize they were smokers. That also didn't explain the people who walked in when he wasn't there to patrol. The table service was quick, and friendly, and a surprisingly good drink. The staff communicating and enforcing restrictions however, were conspicuously lax. Between patrons inviting people to their table over the 6 person maximum, creating both bottlenecks for traffic and pushing table closer together, to patrons wandering from table to table without masks, there were some safety protocols that were pretty lacking. Overall, I couldn't grasp the 'theme' of the bar: the logo and sparse decor speak to an Eagle-like feel, and the website states a motto of being a "safe space that caters to masculine energy", but not much inside the space actually spoke to that intention. I'd probably check it out again, earlier in the night (due to the 11pm close times during restrictions), but it isn't a standout in the nightlife that I had expected or hoped it to be.
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
I'm so glad that this place was open, and that they are following the Covid guidelines. Everyone had a mask on when.not seated, and the wait staff behaved correctly. The service was slow, but the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. They forgot about us. Perhaps they were too busy. I looked at the menu and saw the black bean burger, and probably should have ordered that. Instead I ordered the hamburger, I wasn't expecting "shake shack" or "Red Robin" but I also wasn't expecting to get an upset stomach afterward. In addition, when we asked for water, we were given bottled water. My Diet Coke and my friends drink both tasted diluted or odd. I just hope my upset stomach was from "covid anxiety" and not the actual meat of the hamburger. My friend said the music sounded fine, and the volume was at the perfect amount for talking but I thought that the tone was flat. Also, in other cities (SF and LA) that I've been to leather bars the clientele is usually "sexy" and "friendly". Many of the folks didn't even look gay or a part of the leather scene. Of course it was a Friday night and we're still in the middle of a pandemic, so I'm not going to critique the "culture" too much.
google avatar

Henry H.

Yelp
Easily one of the unfriendliest places I have been to. From the indifferent door men to the overzealous and rude security, this place left such a bad taste in my mouth. A couple of the bartenders were nice, but the others don't seem to care. It's almost like everyone who works here is miserable. Maybe it's because I'm not from Seattle? Maybe it's because I'm not a bear? I just wanted an unpretentious place to hang out, and this was not it. I had much better experiences at Eagle and Diesel.
google avatar

Quaid J.

Yelp
Thank god this bar is open. Being a long time customer I'm happy.bi have notice since the new owners took it over the food has gotten better but I do miss some of my bartenders working here and I hope with phase openings that more of them will come back.
google avatar

Angela B.

Yelp
I love the fact that I am as preppy as they come (sweater sets and penny loafers for me) and a straight girl, and the gay men of the cuff with their harleys and leather outfits are so accepting of me. These guys look rough and mean, but they've always been respectful. The Cuff had the best dance music in all of Seattle!!! The drinks are always stiff, the patio huge and fun, bathroom sucks, decor is most unusual, and this is a favorite among all my gay boyz. You do have to be, how shall I put it... very openminded and not squimish about private things. Not happy with the new $15 cover for the ladies though.
google avatar

Nobbi L.

Yelp
This place is awesome! One of the best gay bars we've been to. Arrived around 3 on a Sunday afternoon. John, the bar tender, is an absolute sweetheart. There was a BBQ on the back patio staring at 4. Patrons were really friendly. As it got later, the place filled up. To my delight it was extremely diverse: different ethnicites, different nationalities, different sizes, different genders, locals and visitors. Usually gay venues are so segregated. Not here. Yay! I even got to meet Dan (aka Puppy), the manager. He was mingling. Really nice guy!
google avatar

Peter K.

Yelp
It's dark, it's outdated....but it sure is fun to go here. They off so much on different nights. You can find a wide range of people and the staff is great fun. Prices are good and cover,is cheap.
google avatar

Mark Y.

Yelp
Very cool and comfortable place to grab a drink. I'm not much of a bar person, mainly because they can be so damn cliquey, but I never felt unwelcome here. The clientele here is older which is probably why I didn't feel any of that "I'm better than you" vibe. I liked the music they played which was a mix of rock, alternative, and some dance stuff, much better than the usual club music played at other gay bars which after too long, can end up feeling like a dull drill trying to penetrate my brain. There's also a nice dance floor in the back with a patio for relaxing. Next time I'm in Seattle, I'll surely be back here for a drink.

Yelp
0 STARS IF I COULD! Trashy over all, absurdly rude staff and drinks are disgusting and terrible music don't waste your time here it's no fun.

Yelp
Probably Seattle's biggest gay bar in size. Huge outdoor patio, multiple levels and a big dance floor. Historically The Cuff was a leather bar but it's now more just like a leather theme vs an actual leather bar. Strong drinks and good classic bar food. Whether you feel like playing pool, darts or just dance, cuff has a little bit of everything to help you out.

Yelp
I had higher hopes for this bar/club. The gentleman at the front who checked your ID was very abrupt and cold. I didn't feel welcomed the moment I entered the building. Also the one bartender was brash and seemed to have an apathetic attitude; Not a very warm environment. They had a slideshow of cheesy nude male models on multiple monitors and I think it took away from the experience. Overall I'm sure this place is great for many, but for me, it did not feel like I was wanted there. Weird vibes!

Yelp
I've been here twice and I don't really find this place interesting. Is this establishment a dance club, is it a dive bar, is it a gay bar? I will attempt to figure out in this review. I went on a Friday night and they had square dancing until 9:00PM. Although there was a large crowd, it wasn't large enough for my liking. Not everyone wants to square dance on a Friday night, they could increase their crowd by having the whole Friday dedicated to dance music. Why not change square dancing to Tuesday or Monday night? I would have prefer dance music as soon as I walk in the door and the lights a little dimmer. I felt it was two businesses in one. The front part is a dive bar, and the back is a dance floor. The split layout doesn't help the overall experience. I would rather see a full dive bar or a full dance floor. I think they are shooting themselves on the foot by having square dancing on Friday night; it narrows down their crowd from what I saw. If you want dance/pop/techno music, you won't find it on Friday. The square dancing also brings in women, in case you were hoping for a strictly gay crowd. Aside from the square dancing there was also a "pup group" who wear puppies masks. There's also people who just go to the dive bar and drink. The dive bar has two pinball machines, two dart targets, 1 pool table, and scattered seating.

Yelp
This place never fails me. The drinks are good, the music is decent, and the dancing lasts all night. I love how they have an outside patio with a bar to get some air. Sure, you'll see some guys walking around in leather, but the crowd is so diverse you'll see a mix of everything. If you like dancing, this place is a must on your night out list.

Yelp
I went there with a friend last night for the Sunday T dance, and we had an amazing time. I don't get where all these bitchy negative reviews are coming from. Were there drunks there? Yes, it's a bar. Were there bears? Yes, there were men and women of all ages and sizes. Were the staff unfriendly? Not really. Disconnected and distant, more like. I had a great time. I got my drinks fast, they were strong, and I met a lot of friendly guys. I am eager to go back.

Yelp
I love this place! It was one of the first establishments I came to in Seattle and I still go whenever I can. They usually have a cover on the weekends, but there's so much to the place that it makes sense. Pool, darts, a back patio, and a huge dance floor are all part of the fun. I'll agree that it is better to come here after 11pm on the weekends if you want to ensure you'll get the best version of the bar. However, I still feel totally comfortable just coming to hang out with a friend on a weekday too because it is so quiet. It's comfortable and yet still exciting. I am really looking forward to the party during Pride!!
