Wow - this is another destination eatery in Mclaren Vale. I feel a little like I'm giving a secret away, as although this is a popular restaurant the value/ service / location / deliciouosness do not have the same reputation amongst my Adelaide circles as they deserve. To my knowledge I am the first of my friends to visit, and boy am I glad I did!
The restaurant is located - as the name indicates in an old drying shed, surrounded by a tahitian lime orchard. The table settings and chairs are relaxed and comfortable with just the right amount of finish - they really make you want to settle in for the afternoon which is what I suggest you do. The food is local produce of a superior standard and the dishes are imaginative and fresh, providing excellent value. Entrees range between $15 and $18, mains $28 to $35 and desserts are $15. I would suggest you tackle all 3 courses, but unless you are a really big eater you may just explode, so probably safer to plan on 2!
They're only open for lunches, so chuck a sickie, or plan a sunday drive and I'll see you there!
