"Opened in 2016, The Dapper Goose stands out in meat-loving Buffalo with a menu that highlights locally sourced produce. Divided into small and large plates, dishes range from beetroot tartine with horseradish cream cheese and crispy chickpeas, to fettuccine with mushroom Bolognese and bread crumbs. The menu isn’t entirely vegetarian, however, and options like the pork shoulder and confit duck are exceedingly popular. On Sundays, there’s a limited brunch menu with such creative fare as pork terrine, crab toast, and chicken wings with fish sauce caramel."

We had a reservation for five at The Dapper Goose for a birthday dinner… it was a completely uncomfortable and disappointing experience. The food was good, but nothing could make up for how shockingly rude and unwelcoming the staff were. From the moment we sat down, the energy was cold. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, and we were a polite, low-maintenance group… but the staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Our waiter and the person who bused our table were extremely rude and cold towards are whole table, during a time where they weren’t incredibly busy, for a table that was pretty low maintenance. Every interaction was left extremely awkward and uncalled for. I have never experienced a restaurant like this. It was completely random and totally uncalled for. This is a restaurant where dishes cost $25+, with a reputation for elevated dining, but none of that matters when the people serving you can’t be bothered to show basic human decency. It wasn’t just bad service, it was appalling. It felt like they actively didn’t want us there. We left feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Good food doesn’t mean anything when the people serving it make you feel unwelcome from start to finish.

The Dapper Goose is certainly a good restaurant, but I wouldn’t say much more than that. Our small plate orders consisted of Octopus and Terrine, both of which were just ok to me. As another reviewer mentioned, none of the flavors really stood out. The Braised Pork was a pretty good entree, and I really enjoyed it. The real disappointment was a completely disinterested waitress who made it feel like we were almost an inconvenience.

I am going to start off by saying that our server was amazing. The drinks were great. We ordered the small plate of shrimp as our appetizer and it was delicious. I ordered the swordfish as my main dish, my mother ordered the pork chop, and my godmother ordered the crab cake and green beans. My meal was perfect. My mother's pork was cold and raw. My godmother's crab cake was cold. We sent the pork back to be cooked more and the chef must have refused because he sent the dish back to my mother exactly the same. There were five people in the restaurant and 3 out of the 5 people had a problem with their food. the table next to us was also unhappy with their pork and changed their order to a burger. I don't know in what universe they thought the pork was cooked medium (picture attached) but it was raw and less than the 145 degree minimum internal temperature that pork should be cooked at.

The Chef has Magic in his hands!!!!!!!!! We went on a Tuesday but with only 2 more tables occupied, we could cherish the peace and quiet of the beautiful restaurant vibe at ease. The restaurant staff is very warm/ friendly/ organic and very pleasant to interact with. We ordered 3 cocktails in a reverse order of the drinks in the menu starting with The Cute for what ails you, Our circus days are over & Broken garden tools. They were all MIND BLOWING. Beautifully balanced and mixed, really delightful. We ordered the Ricotta toast & the Roasted turnips for small plates-both extremely flavorful and light. Then for our large plate we ordered the Burger & The Scallops. I lost my mind when I tasted the scallops & the risotto . It blew my mind, it was so delicious. I’ve never eaten such a great scallop dish ever!!! The burger was wonderful too but felt a bit heavy. For dessert we ordered the Bread pudding. That blew my mind a third time in a row. I’m so happy I had dinner at such a great restaurant. Best wishes to them and thank you for an Unforgettable evening.

It's not often that you try a new place and come out thinking "wow, I have to come here again soon!" Saturday night I had that as I walked out of the Dapper Goose. The atmosphere is great and the service even better. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food.. we started with the blackened green beans which were outstanding. These are a don't miss. I had the braised pork which was excellent. I even ate the pickled red cabbage which I normally wouldn't touch. It really brought the flavors together really nicely. My companion had the burger which she loved. If you haven't tried the Dapper Goose, do so! You won't be disappointed!

Food is amazing - so many creative flavors! This is small plate dining at its best. We brought a group and all shared - so much fun. Beautiful space, stellar cocktails, impeccable service. One of the most satisfying tasting experiences ever!

Went there last weekend with my partner for a date night. Service was great, our waitress was super nice and attentive. However we were both very disappointed with the food, especially for the price. For appetizers we had the mushrooms over hummus and then the garlic shrimp. The shrimp was ok, drenched in oil. The mushrooms and hummus was just ok as well. None of the flavors paired well together in my opinion. For entrees we had the duck breast and mahi. Both of which were a little over cooked and again not of the flavors seemed to pair well. The duck breast was on this thick white sauce that that didn’t seem to go and instantly gave my partner a stomach ache. Both of us didn’t eat much of our entrees and were pretty disappointed in the food overall. The atmosphere in there was cute, however it was so hot in there it was hard to enjoy the food as well.

I’m gutted that I wasn’t amazed by this place. With great reviews and good Instagram layout, they seemed to be the perfect place to bring my husband for his birthday dinner. We arrived and restaurant was quaint with a lot of charm. The service was on point and the menu sounded right up our alley, we had a hard time narrowing down what to choose from, it all sounded great!! To our dismay everything was muted .. it’s just lacked flavour. All sounded to be great combinations, we ended up choosing the ricotta toast, alfredo, and braised pork. Every dish seemed to be missing flavour and to add to the disappointment, there was no salt and pepper on the table to enhance any of the slight hint of flavour there was. The entire meal was a flop as it was a beautiful display of tastelessness.

Yelp
I have to update my review since it's been over 4 years since my last one and probably almost that long since I've been at The Dapper Goose! A lot of changes have been made since last time I was here. They added a large bar and took out the wall that separated the restaurant sides. Due to this, it does get VERY loud in here when it's busy. If I could give any recommendation, it would be to do away with the metal ceiling tiles or add some kind of velvet or soft material to the walls to absorb some of the sound. Also, the lighting was incredibly dim and we didn't love that but it seems most nice restaurants are going this route. We had made a reservation for 7:30 and didn't get seated until 7:50 after several tables sat empty for 15 minutes before the host came back downstairs to seat us. We were visibly annoyed since we had made a reservation and were told to wait at the bar despite there being 2 empty tables when we arrived (that they were clearly saving for a reservation of 4 that never showed). Thankfully one of the bartenders working noticed us getting annoyed and went to grab the staff who quickly got to work clearing and setting all of the empty tables. She was a true gem. Everyone was extremely apologetic over our wait and the host even took accountability for disappearing and apologized herself. I was extremely impressed at all of the accountability taken because you NEVER see that at a restaurant. We were quickly over our annoyance due to this. They even sent out an extra appetizer for us to really make up for the wait. That was such a nice gesture and is one of the main reasons I will continue to come back here and recommend it to other Yelp elites and friends. The staff here really cares. Now let's get to the good part - THE FOOD! We were slightly disappointed that they had changed the cheese board offerings since the last time we'd come several years ago because that was the highlight of our previous experience. They only had one set cheese board with accoutrements but it ended up being okay because we loved everything on the board! And I'm still thinking about the goat cheese!! I would get this every single time. Actually, I'd get everything we ordered again. Everything was SO delicious. The grilled stone fruit and the meatballs were the real highlights but truly everything was so delicious. We will be back very soon and not let another 4 years go by because this place continues to serve some of the best food in Buffalo!

Yelp
Great food and drinks! I've been here about a half dozen times over the past few years, and it's never disappointed. They have a small menu with ever present staples and other selections that have changed, although everything is always very well put together and flavorful. Even their burger is something specially crafted and different than others you'd get anywhere else. The cocktails are wonderful, my go-to is "broken garden tools". The Dapper Goose is a smaller space that is inviting and cozy with classic feel. Always very knowledgeable and friendly staff as well.

Yelp
Everyone raves about this place so I had to check it out! I enjoyed my time there. The small, dark moody atmosphere was really cozy. Our service was very helpful and friendly. Everything tasted good, but nothing blew me away. No negatives at all about the experience, but nothing was that memorable where I'm itching to go back. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. We got the meatballs, shrimp and burger. Shrimp and potato small plate was more like an entre size in my opinion - I got it for my meal and was very happy with it! The bread pudding for dessert was the highlight for me. Big portion too.

Yelp
Exceptionally good food and cocktails, great staff and space as well. Only downside is it's pricy for most.

Yelp
Updating my review as I revisited Dapper Goose last summer. Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning. The service was very bare minimum and cold, and the food was blah. My biggest issue though, was how tiny the portions and how ridiculous the prices were. $12-15 for a glass of wine but really, they only pour HALF a glass. My fish entree was an overcooked tiny piece of fish with 2 spoonfuls of peas and cilantro at $37. I ate everything in under 3min, that's how tiny the portion was. Almost $100 later I left hungry, and that just has never happened to me in Buffalo. This is not some fancy restaurant nor is it located in a desirable neighborhood. The only reason I came back is because of the amazing and reasonably priced food I had 7 years ago when they first opened. Now that it no longer offers either, I don't see a reason to ever go back.

Yelp
Finally had the opportunity to indulge in a meal at The Dapper Goose and I couldn't be happier. My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on a Saturday evening, a little unsure of what to expect since their menu changes frequently -- but we were both extremely happy. We started with just one small plate, cauliflower with a green goddess sauce. It was delicious. The cauliflower was crisp and paired perfectly with the sauce. Definitely started our dinner off right! My boyfriend chose a crab and corn pasta as his main. He reported that the overall flavor was completely unexpected, but he loved it and ate the whole plate. I chose the burger, and I absolutely loved it. The onion jam absolutely made it, and the patty had a nice sear to it that gave it a satisfying crunch. We ordered the bread pudding dessert to go -- absolutely no regrets there. It held up nicely and was so simple and sweet. I would love to come here again, and since their menu changes so regularly, I have good reason to. The food is as beautiful as the restaurant's interior, and it's a true gem in the Black Rock neighborhood.

Yelp
I've been dying to check out this place for a few months now, and I finally got the chance to go with a friend who has a similar taste in food. The menu is a bit on the smaller side, but honestly, we couldn't have been happier with our choices. The chef really made the most out of local ingredients and everything was delicious. My friend and I decided to share some small plates of cheeses, bread, and other goodies, all of which were freshly prepared. For our mains, we both went for the medium-cooked burger. It was juicy and cooked to perfection, served on a sesame seed bun with a tasty dill pickle mayo, flavorful onion jam, unforgettable fromage fort, and crispy fries. The restaurant itself is small but super cozy, with adorable decor that really sets the mood. Our server was so friendly and it was clear that he loved working there. He made sure our water glasses were always full and was attentive without being overbearing. The only downside was that the lighting was a tad dim as it got darker outside, but the candles on each table provided a beautiful and relaxed atmosphere. I look forward to returning to explore the new menu offerings that will be introduced with the changing local options and seasons!

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant many, many times and I've never posted a review! I remember when they first opened how exciting it was to get a more upscale restaurant in the Black Rock area. My most recent visit (3/16/2024) was fantastic just as every other visit has been! We ordered the ricotta toast, Brussels sprouts and garlic shrimp. For dinner we all got our Dapper Goose favorite, the burger. Time and time again I browse the menu for the new additions and while everything sounds amazing the burger always calls my name the loudest! I highly, highly recommend checking out this restaurant if you haven't already!! Food and service are always terrific and always consistent!

Yelp
I had high expectations going here, as several friends have raved about the place. We sat out on the back patio and the atmosphere was delightful. The service was also very good. We had mixed feelings about the food though. I ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were excellent. They were served with a kind of spicy chutney on top that really was quite good. I then had the duck confit served with crispy farro and kimchi. It was also very good. I finished my meal with the butterscotch bread pudding, which I enjoyed since the pudding is quite crispy on the outside and served with a nice dollop of fresh whipped cream. My husband misordered here, we believe. He had the grilled stone fruit served with mozzarella di bufala. It came out overly oily/cheesy for him and he did not enjoy it much. He then had the fettuccine with crab, corn, and parmigiano. This was the major issue - the only flavor to this dish was the immense amount of cheese added to it. So, he felt like it was simply pasta sitting in a pool of oil. The crab was almost non-existent. Moreover, this was a large plate, but the portion was actually quite small and unfulfilling. So, he left the restaurant hungry despite eating both a small plate and a large plate. He mentioned that his quick diner burger on our way home was much more fulfilling than his meal at Dapper Goose. I found myself still hungry as well, honestly, despite eating three courses earlier. (N.B. We travel quite a bit and are very adventurous eaters - he's not a "burger guy" or something. We have a very large wine collection.) The wine menu left much to be desired. It all sits at a rather high price point (nothing under $60), which would seem to indicate that it is curated well. Though, the menu confusingly mixes up the appelation with the vintner. For instance, "Médoc" under Clos Manou is the appelation. But under the wine from famille dutraive, it confusingly lists "Gamay" along with the name of the wine but "Les perelles" where you expect an appelation (that's the vintner). It was clear to us that whoever created and formatted the wine menu knew nothing about wine. If you are going to charge a high price point for wine though, you should probably get your facts straight. We had a 2020 Loire valley white (Romarantin by Philippe Tessier) that was somewhat forgettable. I'm willing to go back again and order different things, but the general impression I have is that Dapper Goose may yet be another Buffalo restaurant where the cost does not match your expectations.

Yelp
Wonderful place to enjoy a evening meal, or just to grab a few drinks. The inside dining area is spacious and you even have an option to be seated outside. For me, I feel their inside dining area is much better than outside. Service was phenomenal.. Our waters was always top off, and our tables was always cleared. I was quite pleased dining here and will be back again. Shrimp ceviche- Not your typical ceviche.. Normally you have ceviche with a citrus (lemon) type dressing, and the shrimp is chop up. Here the dressing is a sweet and the shrimps are whole. With that being said, the ceviche was really good. Blackened green beans- A little spicy and the flavor was good Ricotta toast- This was a simple appetizer with fresh clean tasting toppings Cheese plate- I have seen other cheese plates with more to them. For instance, some come with fruits and nuts. But this cheese board had 3 types of cheeses, jams and spreads. Doesn't seem like a lot, but it works. The quality of the selections are above and beyond common. Eggplant caponata- This also isn't your typical caponata, and you know what. I'm cool with that. By far, this was the best caponata that I ever had. Korean chicken- Crispy and the sauce was really good. Could've been better if the chicken wasn't tough. Fettuccine- I loved the corn and the crab sauce. But my only complaint was the noodles were not cook long enough.

Yelp
I'm just going to get to the point and say I have ZERO negative things to say about The Dapper Goose. Seriously The second you walk in, you're eyes are greeted with all the beautiful candlelight and thoughtfully placed natural greenery around the dining room and bar area. The chairs are surprisingly comfortable LOL. I have no idea why, but perhaps because the bottom part is nice and wide. The food was absolutely delicious!! Something as "simple" as green beans and cauliflower for small plates made my husband say "omg! These are the best vegetables I've ever had! I could be a vegetarian on this!" It was that good. Hubbie said the same thing about his burger! Said it was the best he's ever had. There's a notable place in our hometown that is known for their big burger but my husband said this outshined even that one!! My halibut was just perfect and the cilantro/mint salad it came with was so refreshing and perfect for summer! To top it off, the olive oil cake was the gift I didn't know I needed. So fluffy, moist, and delicious. I will definitely be back!! Drool!!!!!!!

Yelp
My fave restaurant in Buffalo! They've got tons of tasty options and the service is always fantastic. The crab and corn pasta was delicious and their menu is constantly changing, so I'll be back!

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in buffalo. The ambiance and food is always amazing. The staff is so friendly and truly treats you like family; they want to make your experience the best it can be. Rotating menu, but there are some everlasting (for a reason) staples. Drink you need every time: the Broken Garden Tools App you need every time: green beans If you go in the summer: get the crab corn pasta If you go in the winter: Korean fried chicken You won't regret it.

Yelp
Wonderful little gem in the city. Great food, ambiance, friendly servers, clean, limited menu changes weekly, small bar available, but limited cocktail menu. Food was delicious...three of us went and enjoyed sword steak for dinner and pork chops, apps were good too. Dessert was very good, had butterscotch bread pudding, olive oil cake with lemon curd, and a summer strawberry s'mores dessert. We also enjoyed the signature cocktails they offered. Will need reservations, it was a packed night on a Wednesday. Enjoyed the evening. They have been open for 8 years. Enjoyed it! Casual attire welcome.

Yelp
The Goose has been our go to for some time (Keith is our neighbor) but this is the first review we've done. When we entered last night. We noticed they had removed the wall by the bar, and replaced the banquettes with tables. It always had a great feel, and this made it better. Drinks; it was our anniversary, so Dr Leary at the bar sent over two glasses of wine; but Aimée had her go to Broken Garden Tools, and I had a Brooklyn. Spectacular. But it's the food that sets the goose apart. Aimée had the cauliflower with green goddess as a small plate and I had the mushroom arancini. The cauliflower is possibly the best small plate we've ever had. For the large plate Aimée had the burger; but this is no ordinary burger. So light when you eat it, with a terrific bun and onion jam. I had the Korean fried chicken; great great flavor, perfectly cooked, and an entire half chicken. You owe it to yourself to visit the goose. Tell Dr Leary at the bar that Aimée sent you!

Yelp
for what this restaurant tries to be, i am very disappointed...i ordered 2 pricey appetizers and left completely unsatisfied. they were just so...unbalanced? not good? bad? can't find a word for it. whatever composed of the beet salad just didn't make sense, and the salmon tartar was far too mayo-y and had no balance of it's ingredients at all, completely diminishing the salmon ingredient (which should be enhanced and emphasized as the star!!!). after some deep disappointment the dessert was wonderful in contrast. not sure if it's just the comparison lol but objectively i'd say they were good!

Yelp
Friends, Let me start this by saying - I rarely give a poor review on service or food. I was a server/bartender for many years so I know anyone can have an off night. Kitchens can be slow, food over salted, etc. But holy moly - this was not the case at all. I am in from out of town - wanted to take my family for a good meal- we love to try new things and I was really looking forward to the Dapper Goose. I made reservations a week ago - and even called to change them (the man I spoke with was super accommodating and sweet). Between online and verbal reviews I thought we would hit this out of the park. But nope total disappointment from the beginning. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! We were "welcomed" by a lackluster greeter. Seriously- - I think she may have gotten a F on a paper or something - she was that morose. The table setting were minimal -the atmosphere was very cool worth tin ceilings and wood floors. We waited several minutes before greeted by our server who was chatting up the table next to us. While pleasant to those folks when it came to us she acted like she was doing us a favor and we were interrupting her. I would give you her name but she did not provide it to us. I order a drink (the Paperback maker(?)), cheese plate and octopus. After about 10 minutes a woman dropped my drink which I know say there bc I watched the bartender make it and the server was to busy polishing silverware to drop it - the ice was melted (NOT THE BARTENDER's FAULT) - the drink as good but diluted. The owner dropped our octopus and another server dropped our food - server still polishing. She never checked with us on how things were going. In fact it seemed like she was doing her best to ignore us. After a while she took our order - and huffed away when done. Never thanking us or smiling just acting like we were dirt under her shoes. Another woman came cleared plates and silverware-when the server FINALLY came over to "clean" the table she swept crumbs on my Mom's lap! SERIOUSLY????? Our food came - to gnocchi dinners, scallops, and a burger. Toward the end our server did come to ask how our food was (scallops were a bit salty but everything else was good). I ordered another drink - again another person dropped it and it was again diluted- (I watched the bartender make it). The server came back when we were done - a bit more chipper asking for dessert - (end of meal check is coming let's be nice). We declined bc I had enough. The bill came and it was not super expensive- believe me I have run up bigger bar tabs-. When she dropped it I immediately put my card down and a few minutes later she came back. Chipper to get rid of us! As I said I have done this job - I know how hard it is - and we weren't rude nor disrespectful to this woman. I feel like she sized us up and was not happy getting us - why I don't know. I usually leave anywhere from 25-40% tip- I left 18% and that was only because I know she probably tips out the bartender and runners. They deserve that tip! After we got up - I stopped the owner and told him how great our food was but how poorly I felt we were treated by our server - and this is when I got the clue - the owner did not even care. He was dismissive and just as rude - So my friends - I live outside of Buffalo now - I won't be surprised when we come back to town this place is closed. No matter how good the food and drinks are of the service is not good - you may as well close the doors. I can over look a lot - but not bad service from a place with mediocre food at best.

Yelp
This restaurant was excellent! I enjoyed the location its people and the food. I went there for my birthday, the service was excellent! very hospitable and a peaceful and refreshing environment. For someone seeking a comfortable and laidback location!

John C.

Yelp
Although the small plate of octopus was good, it was expensive at $18 and half the price of the large dishes. The lamb was dry and not very good large plate dish. Although the water service was frequent, the staff poured the water sloppily spilling it consistently each time as she attempted to fill the glass. Never seen that problem before. Moreover , when we arrived for our reservation, we still had to wait for a table to be free in order to be seated along with several other parties who apparently also had reservations. This didn't impress my date. Finally, the 20% suggested tip was calculated on the total after taxes were added to the subtotal which I did not appreciate and I had to enter a custom tip with the correct amount based on the subtotal. Overall I had high expectations based on the rave reviews and ratings. The food and service just didn't justify the cost or price of the menu in my mind. Not the best experience it could have been.

Yelp
This was one of the worst dining experiences that I have ever had. We ordered drinks and entree at the same time, assuming that our cocktails would be served promptly. The entrees - both of us ordered the lamb - came out to our table less than 15 minutes after we ordered. And our drinks did not arrive for another 5- 10 minutes afterwards, and only because we flagged down our server. It was easy to understand why the lamb entrees came out of the kitchen so quickly --- the lamb was extremely dry and over salted. Definitely not made recently, and at room temperature. The polenta was lukewarm, at best. And the chef was heavy handed on the salt. I sent my inedible entree back and requested the burger, instead. I figured that a burger would be difficult to mess up. I must say that the burger was delicious, but was closer to being the size of a slider. The French fries with the burger were incredibly over salted. Summary: poor service (unless you want your entree delivered to your table in record time- LOL). Disappointing food. Chef is heavy handed on the salt. Usually, on the rare occasion that I have an "off" experience at an upscale restaurant, I will give it another chance. But my experience at The Dapper Goose was so unfortunate that I will never return.

Yelp
Great restaurant. Excellent food, interesting and unique taste combinations, great service, great vibe.. Really comfortable outdoor seating in the back if you prefer to eat outside. We ate there twice in two days we enjoyed it so much.

Yelp
I had been reading up on Dapper Goose so much that I was looking for an opportunity to dine out at this place. Finally, I took out my colleague for a dinner. I specifically chose this place because the reviews say there are a lot of vegetarian options, since my friend is a vegetarian. While the appetizers do have a lot of vegetarian options, the main course unfortunately doesn't. We ordered salmon tartare, ricotta toast, Korean fried rice and lentils. For dessert we had the olive oil cake. Our total bill was a little over $110. Here is a problem. The restaurant opens at 5 pm and it gets dark fast during the winter. Plus the lights of the restaurant are dim. I like to see the color of my food, how good the plating is, etc. and it wasn't possible for me to perceive the color of my food. Secondly, I regret taking the Korean fried rice because it was difficult to eat without using my hands and I didn't really want that. The restaurant serves the half chicken in a plate that is not big enough for me to use my knife to cut it into pieces. Other than that, every food tastes wonderful. I loved the salmon tartare the most, especially with the bean sprouts on top. The ricotta toast was flavorful. I liked the walnut together with the pumpkin puree that complimented the taste of the toast. The olive oil cake melted in my mouth even though I'm not a big fan of the lemon curd. The lentils tasted like Indian tadka. I liked the parm tuile.

Yelp
We stopped here unexpectedly and were a little under dressed. We sat at the one high top on the bar side, so I wasn't too uncomfortable and the staff made us feel welcome. There is a long bar, that enough of the people seated at were ordering food, so that's the most casual area to be in. The other side had a very classy and romantic look to it. Perfect for a date! We started with two signature drinks and they were both very original. The Broken Garden Tools was refreshing and light, while the Under Electric Candlelight's was very strong and had a lot of the flavors of a Manhattan. For our appetizer, we enjoyed pork belly over a creamy polenta and braised bitter greens. Fantastic combination For dinner, my husband had the burger, it was topped with dill mayo, onion jam, and fromage fort cheese & was served with fries. Even the bun is made in house! He ordered it medium rare, since they grind their own meat and it was juicy and flavorful. The hand cut fries were nice, but could have used a homemade dipping sauce. I tried their signature Korean fried chicken. It was served with kimchi fried Rice, which they make their own kimchi, and spicy cucumbers. The chicken was a bone in chicken quarter. I loved the crunch and the sweet and hot sauce. I would describe the heat as somewhere between mild and medium. The chicken was fully cooked, but not fall off the bone cooked, so it made it difficult to get what little meat is on a thigh and drumstick off, without picking it up with your hands, so it was a little awkward. The rice was nicely prepared. There was still a little bite left to the rice, which I prefer to soggy rice. The spicy cucumbers were a real winner here. They had a great brine and you just kept wanting to eat them. We finished off our meal with the Pot de Creme chocolate cookie dessert. We had them add a side of their homemade rocky road ice cream. Both were delicious. Overall we had a good experience. We spent around $50/person, before tip, but including a mixed drink for each of us. I would probably choose this restaurant for a special occasion or a romantic date night.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurant in recent time because of the cozy ambiance and the mouth watering food. Staff are so friendly and kind enough in their service.

Yelp
We visited the Dapper Goose during a weekend away to Buffalo. The menu looked delightful online so we made a reservation. We were welcomed warmly as soon as we entered and our drinks arrived shortly after we were seated. We ordered many of the small plates which arrived in 2 parts. My husband raved about the green beans and carrots, which is unusual since he's more of a meat eater. I loved the octopus. There was not one dish that disappointed. The drinks were inventive, unique and delicious. We loved our visit and will return.

Yelp
First time going to The Dapper Goose! The food was excellent and the service was very good. We enjoyed the schnitzel, the octopus and the shashito peppers! Everything was very good! My wife thought the octopus was one of the best she's ever had!! We'll be back!!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious from drinks to dessert. We stopped in Buffalo on our way back from Cleveland and found this gem of a restaurant. My husband and I loved the cocktails. My teen daughter mentioned mocktails and the bartender surprised her with one that she said was amazing. Service was perfect. Laid back atmosphere. There is a patio out back. Our dinners were all perfectly done and we shared a lovely dessert. I took a copy of the menu back to the Hotel Henry where we were staying and gave it to the desk so that they could recommend it to guests (their restaurant was not open yet.). Would absolutely return.

Yelp
Awesome dinner!! My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Dapper Goose. I had the Ricotta toast and the burger. Both were delicious. My husband had the green beans and the pork shoulder. Both were delicious. We finished our meals with a trio of ice cream. Service was outstanding, we were greeted pleasantly, seated and our waiter arrived immediately. Very friendly staff, serviced all tables. I poured the last of our water and a waitress who was not ours immediately brought over a new bottle. At one point, I only had to look up as I needed ketchup and our waiter immediately came over. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Just go! You'll thank me later! We did this for a date night and it will be on our list of places to frequent. Love the rotating menu! Service is impeccable! No crumbs left behind! No empty water cups! Again just go!

Yelp
This place is the perfect place for a nicer date night. From their dimly lit restaurant but still really nice decor to the professional and friendly service, they really know how to make everyone feel welcome. I believe their menu also changes from time to time and they have plenty of gluten free options which is always a bonus! Fish and seafood is always a risk to order in Buffalo but this one did not disappoint at all. I ordered the halibut topped with a bourbon peach sauce, zucchini, fennel and plum. Everything was cooked to the perfect texture and taste; soft but still firm and still retains the flavor mixed together in the dish. Trust me, you can tell the difference in the quality of food sourced here, level of cooking and presentation/care put into their food. This is a place you have to try at least once.

Yelp
We only had appetizers at the bar but the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. Most of the reservations were outside as the weather was beautiful, but we sat inside at the bar. It was quiet but very nice. I would definitely go back for a full meal.

Yelp
We had a meal at The Dapper Goose for the SO's birthday with the parents who had previously eaten here and enjoyed their meal immensely. However our trip was pretty mediocre. All of the featured drinks were wine spritzes and most of us got the one with sake and yuzu and it was absolutely fabulous with some really unique and pleasant flavors. It was the best item of the night. We tried the blackened green beans and they were very good as well though maybe a touch too heavily seasoned. We also had a sausage plate to share that was pretty good. All downhill from here. Dad ordered the korean fried chicken and it might have been the best of the mediocre dishes but he said it was overdone. Mom had an overcooked fish filet. The SO had a very boring dry burger with way too much onion jam. And I had a very dry overcooked pork schnitzel with a confusing yogurt based green sauce drizzled over it that didn't give it any flavor. Maybe we came on an off night or when they were training a new cook but it was not the amazing dinner we'd been expecting. We'd probably be willing to give them one more chance eventually but it was a very disappointing first experience. Parents said it was much better previously and they were confused too.

Yelp
I made a reservation here after wanting to go for months. I was so excited. The room was warm and cozy, and the staff was helpful and friendly. However, after I ordered , I unexpectedly felt ill, so I couldn't eat or drink. All of the food looked incredible (green beans, eggplant and cauliflower shared plates), but I was in so much pain I just couldn't take a bite. The waiter sensed I was not feeling well, and very kindly took my cocktail off the tab because he knew my upset stomach that was the only reason I didn't drink it. I took the leftovers home, and they were AMAZING. So delicious and fresh. I am definitely going back!!

Yelp
A very nice experience that is not your average run of the mill place. My friends and I had a combination of several small plates so we could try things. Not one plate had anything on it when we were done. It is quirky and inventive and delicious. Locally sourced in season so it is not the same all of the time. Adventurous palettes will like it here. The only other place that I could compare it to food-wise is WaxLight. Much different atmosphere but they're also doing fun new things with locally grown seasonal vegetables.

Yelp
Culinary perfection! There are no words that can describe this incredible gem. From the vivid descriptions of the menu items by Juan, our dapper server with a flare for making his visitors feel at home to the quaint little garden patio, it was a stellar experience. The food! Ah, yes the food... it just keep getting better and better We started with a few fresh select cheeses pared with homemade jam, and honey to the halibut which melted in your mouth, once again, perfection. I think our favorite items were the garden fresh vegetables (small plates as starters) prepared with unique herbs and spices, out of this world delish! Crafts drink to die for as well! Every second of the 4 hours that we dined at The Dapper Goose was a second of bliss. Thank you for this wonderful experience! We will be back soon!
