"Manhattan food hall the Deco is done. The space closed on September 30, spelling an end for its few remaining vendors. Nansense, a popular Afghan food stall, has closed, as has Antojitos Caseros, a Mexican restaurant that once sold tacos from the back of a South Bronx bodega. The space temporarily closed the following year as a result of the pandemic, returning with limited hours and fewer vendors in early 2021." - Luke Fortney

Epic lunch at Beach Bistro at the Brazilian place at The Deco. It was a tapioca jackfruit taco. Could have eaten two. The service was impeccable. They delivered it to me while we were waiting for my friends lunch to be prepared. Big ups to Huli Huli Hawaiian Rotisserie for their epic mango soft serve (it's vegan!). Can't wait for the bar guuuuurl!!!

Beach Bistro 96 - Brazilian food - is very very good ! The food is high quality - the “coxinha” is one of the best I have ever had ($5) - most likely one of the best Brazilian restaurants in Manhattan - we also had the picanha sandwich ($18) and the mushroom tapioca - all the juices look great and we had the “caju” which is typical from Brazil. The acai bowl was pretty good too ($11).

Google
Beautiful space street food vendors. Overall quite nice .. coffee shops don’t have real cups, I guess they are sticking with street vendor idea..Taking one star off for not being eco friendly. Is this really too much to ask?

Love this place. I live close by so I was very excited when they opened up, since the area is in dire need of nice places for coffee and food. Went there for a cortado at Mademoiselle, which was perfect. Also, their chocolate chip cookie is in serious competition with Levain’s - totally recommend.

Great new addition to Times Square. Beautifully designed space with a small but excellent selection of food vendors.

Google
Great selection of food from around the world. The Mexican restaurant is pretty good, I had three different tacos, chicken tinga, lengua, and pastor, all of them were tasty. Also the Brazilian restaurant services was very attentive and brought the food to us.

Google
Hugely recommend! I stumbled across The Deco on my way to a show, and had no idea it had just opened. I got the Baa Baa JB Melt Sandwich from Little Tong's, and it was one of the most delicious things I've eaten, with its blend of flavors, ingredients, and textures. If I lived nearby, I would be haunting this place to try everything. It's a beautiful space, with a range of food, and surprisingly fair prices for the theater area in NYC.

The decor, naturally, is beautiful. It's apparent that it's a new spot, which is most likely why it isn't too active yet. A shame, really, cuz the food my wife and I had (from Beach Bistro 96) was fantastic. We plan to come back soon and try food from several of the food stations here, a nice mix of Italian, Mexican, Brazilian, Hawaiian, French and several others.

Yelp
I went here a little while before the pandemic. This is a gorgeous new food court in an area that needed a slightly nicer lunch option. So far, I've only been to Beach Bistro 96 which as some nice staff. I got a caju (cashew) juice to go as I was going to the bus first. For those who haven't had cashew fruit, it has a very strong tropical fruit flavor (like an overripe mango and passion fruit) and it makes a refreshing tart drink. In terms of actual food, I've had a picanha sandwich as their feijoada is a bit pricey. Picanha is a steak cut from the fat cap and it's mostly well known in Brazil/Argentina. It has a slight chew to it but there is a strong delicious beef flavor. The bread had some crunch and there was some lettuce and onions on top. The sandwich was good and worth it (though it had to be at $18.) Good place.

Yelp
The Deco is smashing! Close to the Pennsy, Penn Station and moi and chock full of well curated ethnic eats with thoughtful comphy Art Deco inspired seating and lovely restroom though it was a bit chilly temp wise in opening day. There is Mexican, Afghan, French rotisserie, Hawaiian rotisserie Brazilian Roman Pizza and French sandwiches and pastries. Ate: Nansemse soup $8.71 Antojitos Casera shrimp taco $4.50 Yummy soup came with Afghan bread very similar to Turkish and was perfect for a frigid day. Shrimp taco- slamming. Welcome to the garment center!

Yelp
Another food hall just opened in midtown, halfway between the Urbanspace ones and Gotham West Market. This one is cool in that it has a theme (Art Deco), so it doesn't feel as cookie cutter as most others. The vendors are also great so far, including the 3rd Little Tong and Mani In Pasta, new bakery and chicken concepts by Mama's, and the Smorgasburg hit Nansense. Definitely try true JB Melt Sandwiches from Little Tong and the new Rice Hash Browns.

Yelp
Lovely spot for a quick lunch! I dropped in because I was looking for a food court-type environment. There were two restaurants open-- Mexican or Afghan comfort. I got the latter, at a place called Nansense. I'll always be tickled by a punny name. The employees were so nice, and they had a good menu selection of snack-to-lunch foods, in small and regular sizes. I wanted something small and quick, and The Deco delivered!

Yelp
I came this past Saturday and I liked what I saw. Because it's so new, it wasn't crowded but it was also early. So early, the Hawaiian Chicken wasn't ready yet. I would like to try it next time. The chef/owner was very nice and gave me some complimentary pineapple yogurt. I had to settle for the French roasted chicken which was delicious. The chimichurri sauce was excellent and very fresh. To call a sauce a "side" is silly. The Kale Caesar side salad was terrible but I'm chalking it up to them working out the kinks. Big pieces of Kale, no dressing but the generous slices of cheese and perfectly cooked hard boiled egg made up for it. Nice selection of food ranging from Spanish, Mexican, Asian, French and bakery. And the space is gorgeous. Hip furnishings in the "living room" area. The bathroom is also especially pretty with granite sinks. My husband was wondering how they will keep the homeless out of the locked bathrooms. I hope they can maintain this lovely space. Once people start finding out about it and it becomes more popular, it can sometimes be hard to maintain. Oh and the cleanup staff were well attired in Art Deco uniforms and they were very friendly and quick. It's pricey but no more pricey than the Pennsy Food Hall down by Penn Station and WAAAY better. My chicken thigh with side salad and sauce was $15. The quality of food is excellent though and I wish the Deco Food Hall much success.

Yelp
September became December for the grand Opening for The Deco food hall. But once they open and I went inside I could see instead of the common industrial Urban look this is a beautiful space which has the inspired Art Deco look to it with blue glass and tile balanced with white tile and marble. It's a big real space with lots of seating. They have Mexican, French, Brazilian, Hawaiian, Chinese, Afghan, and Italian food here. Vendors: Antojitos Caseros Beach Bistro 96 Huli Huli Little Tong Mani In Pasta Mademoistelle Nansense Papa Poule Missing is Jeepney Filipino Gastropub from the opening, stay tune on that one. You can spend two weeks or more here trying out these many vendors. They will serve from early breakfast to late lunch for December. Alcohol and late dinner in early 2020.

Yelp
Perfect food hall !!!! Not too many vendors , well set open space. High quality and great variety of food. Brazilian , Hawaiian and Afghan side by side with the usual high quality Mex , Noodle place ,Pizza place etc.... Easy to get a seat and take a break for lunch. Definitely can be a destination .

Yelp
liked what I see at the Deco like the blue art deck square bar in the middle, it is not open yet and the granite sinks in the bathroom are a must see such ambience witch is lacking near the bus terminal. but it's so new that many of the vendors do not have their full line available when you go in the morning ,  and at lunch time the Hawaiian Chicken wasn't ready yet and no rice also.

Yelp
I will be the first to admit that I am a profound snob when it comes to interior design. The interior of this food court is beautiful. It is well balanced. It has just the right mix of feminine and masculine touches and the bar in the middle looks like it's straight out of the 40s. I can't wait for the bar in the middle to open so that I can grace it with my presence. I also liked that during lunch time it was super easy to walk in and get a table. It's also obviously phenomenal that there are so many different choices and places to eat. I went to lunch with a friend of mine who has a small baby and we fit right in even though most of the people in there looked like they worked at a tech company. Overall I would check it out and it is welcome new space in midtown.

Yelp
I found out about this place because I used to work at Maman and they posted that they were opening Mademoiselle here. I came here with two people from work for lunch, and I bought a make my own salad from Papa Poule which was pretty satisfying. It's a promising food hall with lots of compelling local eatery options (no national chains) and plenty of seating. There is, however, an over-indexing of chicken places here - Afghan chicken, Hawaiian chicken, you name it.

Yelp
Tried The Deco -not your ordinary food hall -this one has an ambience harking back to the NY of the 20's Had the Afghan food from Nansense - chicken with rice and small salad was very tasty as well as the Afghan bread , ordered the dumplings -a little bland -would have been better if a little spicier and could have done better if the yogurt sauce was on the side Will definitely be be to try some of the other foods . Strange that they went all out on the decor but seating is more like a high school cafeteria -long tables and semi uncomfortable chairs About time the Garment Center had somewhere interesting to dine

Yelp
ordered 5pc meatball, bottle of sparkling water, about 19 bucks (+tax, tips) meatball are large in size , tender, juicy , flavorful, love the fresh basil aroma added to the tomato sauce , that made of tomato puree, little sour n sweet. tasty! if this come with a piece of pizza bread, that will be perfect.

Yelp
Stopped by today. Pretty crowded but some vendors had no lines. Really diverse group of food, opted for the Brazilian spot which was pricey (over $20 for the feijoada) but really good! Nice seeing little tong. All in an amazing space! Looking forward to the bar opening too. Looking forward to trying all the shops.

Joanne S.

Yelp
The space is quite beautiful. Even the restroom was impressive. The place had just opened so I don't think a lot of people know of it yet. My friend and I got there at eleven and it was nice and quiet. Many places to try. Not all was quite open at that moment. One place would open in fifteen minutes. I tried the Afghan place. Had a potato rice dish. It was good but would try something different next time. Friend liked the soup there

Ron K.

Yelp
One of the great things about The Deco is you are supporting local businesses, not chains or establishments with, like, +20 locations. Don't get me wrong, I love my Dig Inn et al, but this is definitely more of a unique place than, say, Urban Space. Definitely designed for a nice social experience that feels more intimate than some of your other food halls in the city that can get really loud and dense.

Natalie M.

Yelp
I'm giving this place 3 stars because the ambience was really nice. However I tried Papa Poulie and for 16 dollars I could have gone to the bodega and had a better sandwich. My pita was cold and hard , chicken was bland the entire sandwich was sad and definitely not worth again the 16$. I get it's new and they need to settle in but that does not excuse poor execution and charge that much. Hopefully the other vendors are getting right .....

Jeremy S.

Yelp
Beautiful space! So glad to have a spot in midtown. We ordered from Antojitos Caseros. Wow! Ordered the al pastor. This place was hands down the best Mexican food I've had in Manhattan. Believe the hype. Can't wait to head back and try more. It's on a side street so wasn't too busy and if I didn't mention already the space itself is gorgeous and super comfortable. If I worked regularly in the area I I'd be here twice a day!!
