The Den

The burger was decent but the Den Chicken grilled sandwich was a joke. It was barely a half a chicken breast flatten like a pancake. A pickle spear in the sandwich to make it fuller does not make it. The appetizer was another disappointment with the chips almost stale and a small portion of queso dip. Fries were great but fries do not make the meal. The place was clean but surprisingly empty with no one there during a dinner hour. Management suggestion. Go to Wendy's or Popeye's and see the size of their chicken sandwich. If you cannot come close to that, don't offer it. If you offer stale chips or small appetizers for your price, either change the price or ditch the appetizers. I do not see how your place will remain open if changes are not made. You have a good location, don't waste the opportunity.

Went here for dinner last night. Pretty good bar type food. It also is very roomy inside and they are set up for live music. Affordable and the service was very good. The bill was $52 before Tip and that included two drinks.

Cocktails were great, I highly recommend the Jacka** it’s a delicious version of a mule! BLT wrap was fresh tater tots are crunchy and the hangover burger gives exactly what you hope for! Our server Avery was sweet knowledgeable and great at explaining the menu when we had questions. Overall the experience was fantastic. The only “qualm” I have is that at dinner time the music was on the louder side… I assume to draw in a younger crowd. Overall 10/10 add to your date night list!!!

The Den is a gem — great food, good drink prices, and an all-around welcoming vibe. The menu has something for everyone, and the quality definitely exceeds expectations. Our server, Emma, was fantastic. She was attentive, kind, and clearly working hard to make sure everyone was taken care of. Her professionalism and genuine care didn’t go unnoticed. It’s the kind of place you look forward to coming back to. Highly recommend!

We stopped in to eat. The food was very good. But the service was exceptional! Maya was our server. She was quick in getting our drinks and food order and took care of everything we needed very efficiently. She made us feel like family. This made our visit extra nice.

We tried this restaurant for the first time today, after we where greeted and seated we put in our drink orders, waitress came back with our drinks and asked if we wanted to order. But we where never given menus. Our appetizer was quick and delicious. However the burger we where given wasn't the one we ordered, I let her know she had it re made and said she would comp it off the bill. She comes back with the right burger and it was raw in the middle, not rare but genuinely raw (it was ordered medium rare for reference.) by the time the burger came back a second time, we had to leave and take it to go because it took so long to get the burger made everyone eles had finished eating.the real kicker, the receipt i was given wasn't itemized and the burger wasn't comped. It may have been discounted but definitely not comped. Needless to say we won't be returning.

I recently visited The Den, and it’s a fantastic addition to the local scene! The food, drinks, and live music were all top-notch. A special shoutout to Emma behind the bar—she’s an absolute pro! Her cocktails are creative and perfectly mixed, and her friendly, vibrant energy really elevates the experience. Whether you’re grabbing a drink or enjoying the live music, The Den is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

We visited this establishment on a Friday night to grab a few drinks, hoping to support a woman-owned business. However, our experience was far from welcoming. Every time we ordered a drink, we were met with denial and an unpleasant attitude from the bartender. As we decided to leave, the bartender even made a derogatory remark towards my wife. This incident has left a lasting negative impression, and we will not be returning to this establishment. We felt that we were strongly racially profiled.

Attractive wait staff very friendly and service oriented. Kitchen staff weekenders suck because of attitude from south of the river, the big one. Tuesday cook friendly and provides quality burger and special fries in volume. Biggest deepest black bar plenty of squat room but the rope lights hang in view to TV. I thought this was going to be a favorite hangout but undercooked burger didn't even met enough flame time to flavor the beef pattie. I'm moving on from this kitchen staff but will stop for a look at the beauty serving while easing a $7.00 can of Guinness from a water stained stout glass pass the lips and over the gums wishing the world peace.

Walked in on a Tuesday. Obviously nothing going on which is fine. The atmosphere was quiet and cool air was great. The bartender came over and asked what we would like to drink. We just had water because nothing on the menu sounded good. No problem. The food- not much on the menu and very boring. We looked at the menu for about 5 mins trying to decide we should order or not. We decided to just leave. I know it was only a Tuesday at 11am, but quite the boring place in all categories. I believe if you are a younger person and it 9pm it might be a fun place to be because I believe that's what the place is for according to the fb page. But if you open at 11am you should have a good selection of foods.

My wife and I made our way to The Den today for a late lunch. She had the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and I had the dry rub chicken wings. Our waitress was extremely attentive as well as the other servers and bartender. When we sat down the bartender gave our waitress a heads up when I looked behind me towards her to see if someone was coming to wait on us. There was also a good guitarist/singer (Jacki Carol) performing while we were there. Our neighbors in Yorkville and anyone else dining around us were very pleasant. Everyone on staff worked together checking on us often. Our food was served piping hot and tasted delicious! The portions were large and we will still enjoy finishing them tonight. Good first impression we will be back soon and will spread the word!

This place is terrible. Not only is the staff rude but it takes forever to get any service here and my burger was undercooked as well and had a funny taste to it. I definitely won't be coming back again. Spend your money elsewhere, there's better places to go in Yorkville.

Same owner but will not honor dakota gift cards, would understand if it were a new owner but it's not.... He will close up soon just like the rest of his businesses

Why offer ways to cook your burgers if your kitchen is only going to make everything well done?!? We also asked for cheddar cheese on our burger but it came with nothing. The server took it back and said I hope shredded is ok because that's all we have. Completely ridiculous. 2 stars because the fries were at least good...
