"The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon at Fortnum & Mason Fortnum & Mason is a department store in Piccadilly that’s famous for supplying the royals with their tea, and at times can feel like a very posh human zoo—until you sit down for the extremely pleasant tea service. The entire fourth floor was designed for the sole purpose of afternoon tea. Come for a classy experience, and if you’re with someone who refuses to eat clotted cream, the servers will accommodate pretty much any dietary requirement. Book online a couple of days before to get a spot." - rianne shlebak, eileen twum

"This historic spot for afternoon tea has been an upper crust British favorite since it began importing leaves from Asia in 1707. It's no wonder the beloved tearoom was reopened in 2012 by the Queen after a sensitive refit. The room retains a fittingly regal affect, decorated in the store’s trademark eau de nil (take that, Tiffany). There’s often a pianist tinkling away in the corner of the airy elegant room in the afternoon. The tea itself will leave even the most discerning of tea snobs with their mouths open. There are 50 different blends and tea sommeliers to help you chose which one is for you." - Ramsay Short, Sonya Barber
"Available for nationwide delivery. We imagine presenting a mother with the Fortnum & Mason ‘Fit For Your Queen’ hamper would induce similar feelings to someone catching a glimpse of a Tiffany box in their partner’s pocket. The only difference is one is filled with edible treats. The afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason is pretty special, and their hampers are no different. What these hampers lack in table service and scones, they make up for in rose champagne and jars of passionfruit curd. Not to mention the huntsman basket they arrive in." - rianne shlebak
