The Dip Review - East Village - New York - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for a quick bite near St. Mark’s, go to The Dip. The tiny counter-service spot from a chef who used to work at 4 Charles Prime Rib serves a few different sandwiches, including one with crunchy fried chicken on brioche, but the star here is the french dip. The massive stacks of thinly sliced meat are topped with gruyere and cherry peppers, and it comes with sides of jus and creamy horseradish that make it one of the best sandwiches in the neighborhood." - Matt Tervooren

We noticed a new Ice Cream Shoppe called The Dip, had moved into the shopping complex across from Waffle House in Ashland City. Usually we have to drive over to West Nashville for an ice cream, so we decided to try it out. As we walked in, the aroma of fresh coffee met us...it smelled wonderful! There was a fresh display of cinnamon buns and pastries to greet us as well...this led to difficult decision making! Lol For a small indepent shop, they had a great selection of ice creams! So, we chose to go with banana splits, and we were able to pick our ice cream flavors to go on them, as well as our toppings! They have three old fashioned video games that you can play in their lobby area, as well as plenty of seating, both inside and also out on the sidewalk. The serving staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and quick to wait on you. They even ran out to open the door for my 85 year old mom. Our banana splits were delicious! I highly recommend them; they are definitely worth the drive! Enjoy!

First time there (Tuesday, July 15, 2025)~ the 2 girls working were awesome in explaining everything available 😀 My hubby and I split a banana split~WOW was it AMAZING!!! Peach ice cream was soooo good, hubby liked the cotton candy and Salted caramel ice cream. We will definitely be back. The best part is that you can try any of the ice cream before ordering what you want! 😋 😋

Stopped in for some ice cream and ended up getting the oatmeal cream pie flavor — it was seriously so good. Super creamy and tasted just like the real thing. The shop had a nice vibe, and Rachael, who helped me out, was awesome. Super friendly and gave great recommendations. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Great ice-cream, great atmosphere. Plenty of parking and seating on the inside and out. I'm not a coffee drinker but they have it. Also a couple of arcade machines.

The staff was super friendly, I didn’t catch their names. The iced coffee was the best I’ve had in a long time!! I will defiantly be back.😄 “Be Proud of Yourself” I needed that today, thank you!

My wife and I took our 3 kids for the 1st time and we really enjoyed it. Anthony & Ridgid were rock star hosts. They entertained and educated us on the history of ice cream places in the area all the way to the delicious samples and their personal preferences. My kids had a blast turning their mouths blue with flavors like the "blue monster" ice cream. We all had fun playing a couple of classic arcade games. The atmosphere was light. The place was immaculate. I'm compelled to give 5 stars.

very good ice cream. Service was superior. these young men must've been raised by wonderful mamas because they are so well mannered and accommodating.

Yelp
Great new place in Ashland City to grab a scoop of ice cream. Looks like they serve Blue Bell, so solid ice cream and a lot of flavors I don't typically see in stores. They also do coffee drinks and sweet snacks/desserts. Friendly service, fair prices, good location.

Yelp
Same ice cream as Walmart , cookies are dry and over priced. I definitely wouldn't go back or recommend to a friend. You can get better stuff cheaper elsewhere

Yelp
Love this place except THEY DON'T WEAR GLOVES! Please don't handle money, touch your hair, wipe the counter, and then grab my cone with the same dirty hand. I thought it was a fluke, but I watched several employees and many customers interact in an unsanitary manner. Everything else about this place is spot on! Would love to come back and support it, and hoping to see that change.
