"If you’re looking for a quick bite near St. Mark’s, go to The Dip. The tiny counter-service spot from a chef who used to work at 4 Charles Prime Rib serves a few different sandwiches, including one with crunchy fried chicken on brioche, but the star here is the french dip. The massive stacks of thinly sliced meat are topped with gruyere and cherry peppers, and it comes with sides of jus and creamy horseradish that make it one of the best sandwiches in the neighborhood." - Matt Tervooren

Great new spot, small menu but has enough variety that meat eaters AND vegetarians can find something delicious and cheesy. Love their soups and the grilled cheese personally, though I know a bunch of my friends loved the dip! Would definitely recommend for anyone who is wanting for a French Dip, especially as it gets colder in NYC!!

A new place to the East Village, The Dip is a small counter service restaurant that more than delivers on their food. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this gem this evening. We tried the fried chicken sandwich (juicy, tender chicken with a crisp and spicy cabbage slaw), the fries (thin cut and perfect in every way), the grilled cheese (2 types of cheese and tomato on garlic bread), and the tomato soup (bright and fresh, served with garlic croutons). Service was quick and the portions are generous and reasonably priced. The restaurant is immaculately cleaned, a rarity in New York. The Chef/Owner is the former Executive Chef at 4 Charlies Prime Rib and was very friendly. We’ll be back to try the French Dip and the Pastrami Sandwich. I’d highly recommend!

Ordered everything on the menu, then ordered another onion soup. The French dip is made with the highest quality prime beef. All perfectly prepared classics. Can’t wait to go back.

I really hope this place makes it through the pandemic because they have one of the best chicken sandwiches and BLTs I’ve ever had. The cut of the bacon on the BLT is prime.

This place is spot on, the dip and chicken sandwich is delicious. I can’t wait to go back for the Chicago dog and some tomato soup.
