"Want a lobster roll in this part of town? This stand in Exchange Hall is the place to go — the only place to go. It offers them in Connecticut and Maine styles, plus a lobster grinder and a secret menu Ultimate Roll that has avocado and shrimp on top. There are also garlic lobster fries, dynamite shrimp, fish and chips, variations on fish tacos, and more. It is in a food hall, so the vibes are what they are, but there are outdoor dining areas. There is no dedicated parking area for Exchange Hall, so plan to park in a paid lot nearby or luck into some street parking." - Courtney E. Smith

"There’s a new lobster roll in town via the Dock, a new restaurant that’s setting up shop at 3839 McKinney Avenue. Per CultureMap, the Dock will boast East Coast seafood staples like clam chowder, crab, and of course, lobster rolls." - Amy McCarthy

Google
Very helpful in picking your first time order. The Grinder is it. Very fresh and flavorful Lobster Roll. Authentic with chunky meat. shoestring Fries crispy and service fast. We tried other things in the exchange but the Lobster Roll is my favorite. The salad was fresh but it wasn’t shining like the Lobster Roll. I’d come back for sure

Came in for a lobster roll, and left with something better. The cashier told Me about special of the day. The fried flounder sandwich with a curry mayo. It was amazing. It had everything a perfect seafood sandwich needed. The fish was fried perfectly. Crisp and moist. The cabbage slaw and curry mayo were a great touch. The sandwich has crunch, salty, tangy, and smoky hints. Beyond nom nom.

It was my first time visiting the Exchange Hall and decided to order from The Dock. We ordered the Lobster Grilled Cheese and it was the best Lobster sandwich I’ve ever had, hands down! It was full of succulent lobster and oozing in plenty of cheese. Absolutely delicious! Next time I plan to try the Shrimp roll & Lobster Mac. As an added bonus, customer service was A+.

Google
I had a lobster roll and some fries here. I would say the food is not bad, waiting time was acceptable. The lobster meat chunks are pretty generous. But the price is probably above average for the food that is on offer.

Google
Tried the Lobster Grinder combo and it was really good! The lobster, potato chips, and house pickles were fresh and delicious! It gets a little busy around lunchtime since it's a popular spot for those who work nearby. But service is quick and there is plenty of seating if you want to sit.

Google
I had the lobster grinder with fries and hubby had the lobster bisque. Both were delicious. The chunks of lobster in the bisque were huge. The meat in the grinder was plentiful. Would I highly recommend.

Google
I typically order but decided to dine in the area is similar to a food court of sorts with multiple food vendors. Dock local has pretty tasty & fresh seafood options my top picks are the Lobster Rolls & Lobster grilled cheese I was not a huge fan of the pictured fries but the portion was sizable for the price

Google
The Dock was a pleasant surprise!! It's located in the Exchange Hall located in the AT&T Discovery District in downtown Dallas. I had a bowl of delicious clam chowder and 2 tacos, one fish and one shrimp that were AWESOME! Some of the people I was with had the lobster roll and said it was amazing as well. If you are looking for good seafood, definitely check this place out.

Brad B.

Yelp
The lobster rolls are good, crab grilled cheese is also a win, as is the crab queso and chip dip. I haven't tried the tacos or shrimp yet, but the other items I've had are better than I expected. Pretty fast service and good quality, while the people are also pretty friendly.

Caroline Z.

Yelp
Hot Crab Queso, Garlic Shrimp Taco, Baja Fish Taco So flavorful! The hot Crab queso is delicious and you can definitely taste the Crab in it, with nice chunks of Crab scattered in it. The baja fish taco was fantastic. Loved the garlic shrimp Taco especially--the pieces of shrimp were huge and tender, and I am by no means a shrimp person at all. The taco sizes are pretty large.

Yelp
Craving seafood but don't "trust" any in Dallas because it's not near a body water!? Yeah I thought the same until I craved something fresh on a hot day & now I found my go to lobster spot. Their seafood is so fresh & the ingredients amazing! Since it was my first time, I asked the server for her honest opinion & these recommendations were delicious! They have many locations but I specifically liked this one being in Downtown Dallas & near a bar for some drinks after. Perfect place to hangout with friends or for a date night.

Yelp
I tried this place for lunch at The Exchange with a coworker. It's set in a food hall that has tons of other options but fresh seafood was calling to me. I had the lobster grilled cheese and my coworker had "the Connecticut" lobster roll. We were both amazed with the quantity and freshness of our meals. I thought the amount of lobster in my grilled cheese was a lot more than most restaurants would've given. I really liked the house chips it came with on the side which tasted like they had just been made that day. My coworker said he liked his lobster roll, The Connecticut, particularly because it was served warm unlike most of the other rolls there. If you're looking for a great seafood lunch or dinner option in a more casual setting - this is a great spot!

Yelp
Stopped in and tried the Smokin' Salmon tacos. Very disappointing. The salmon was bone dry, to the point where I needed to constantly gulp my drink to avoid choking. Flavor was good, but largely provided by sauce added on top. Can't really recommend.

Liz M.

Yelp
The food was so yummy. I can't wait to go back. The service was fast and friendly. The ambience was uplifting.

Monique M.

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday. I'd recommend this place we all liked our food. I ordered the lobster bisque and lobster roll. The bisque was really good and the lobster roll was phenomenal!!! The flavors were perfect and it was a good amount of meat. I'd definitely return!

Ethan B.

Yelp
Went downtown Dallas to grab some lunch.. So stopped here and had a great lunch The lobster was fresh and the taste of the sandwich was amazing

Bonnie M.

Yelp
I was so happy I looked this up when we landed in Dallas. The food is absolutely amazing. The lobster roll was packed, and the crab cake is the best I've had. Can't wait to try more when I come back

Rome M.

Yelp
Great presentation and as far as unique food options go, it hits the spot. I had the Connecticut (hot lobster roll) which had generous chunks of meat but I could tell it wasn't the freshest. Good flavor but a bit salty, and the roll was toasted to perfection. I would come back to try the cold roll too! Clam chowder- came on a cold night and the chowder was disappointingly lukewarm. A bit salty as well. Elote corn- it's ok. Quality presentation and flavor but just didn't taste authentic as a street cart.

Kels K.

Yelp
Typically i order from the location on McKinney but today they were out of lobster. So, i ordered from the Akard location. I ordered the grinder which is supposed to come with langostino and lobster. This thing is full of Imitation crab. I literally unrolled a entire piece of what was supposed to be lobster or langostino. The only reason i gave 3 stars is because apart of my order was a lobster roll. And that was actually lobster but it also had Crawfish in it!!! WTF DON'T BUY HERE

Teisha V.

Yelp
We came here on a break while doing the In-city wheels motorbike tour which I strongly suggest. And there are so many restaurants in this place but I decided to go and try some soup and tacos from this location. We were on a time crunch, but I wanted to try something unique. It took about 12 minutes to get the food and the clam chowder was a bit salty but the tacos were really good and my friends truly enjoyed the french fries. There is no military discount at this location. They had tons of other delicious choices but I plan to come back again one day and try those. This is not a individual closed, brick and mortar restaurant, more of a food court style. And this place can get very busy. All in all I am not disappointed about what I purchase. The worker seem to be a bit impatient when taking our order and their drinks are about three dollars a piece, give or take. I would definitely love to come back and try something different on the menu.

Donathan D.

Yelp
Was real good enough lobster with the mayo aioli sauce. The person that worked there recommended it and it was a great choice. I would go back in a heartbeat. It is in the art exchange with plenty of seating inside and out. The service was quick and on point.

Brenda J.

Yelp
If you stop into the Exchange food court adjacent to AT&T's Discovery Park, make the Dock one of your stops for authentic Maine or Connecticut lobster rolls. They really load you up with lobster, the roll is buttered and it is a really great bite. Extremely filling. Strongly recommend!

Mark P.

Yelp
They gave me the driest and most distasteful lobster roll I ever had. No amount of butter could make the lobster meat moist.

Julianna T.

Yelp
Disappointed. Cold food. Wet tacos. I love love Dock Local uptown but this was closer to home so I ordered to pick up as I have done many times on McKinney. My shrimp tacos tasted ok but cold. Fish tacos, cold and so wet my son threw them out. My HOT lobster roll wasn't even what I ordered. I got a cold mayo covered, unseasoned, with stale chips.....in the trash. If it's to go, where is the foil to keep it warm? Money in the trash. My son ate leftover spaghetti instead.

Gilbert H.

Yelp
The lobster here was great! I had the Connecticut and you can see in the picture the size of that claw meat! Super juicy and buttery, I would've gotten two, but you know...lobster is never cheap, but price is definitely worth it. Will return to try that lobster bisque.

Naveen K.

Yelp
I felt robbed at this location!!!! We went there on Saturday night & was extremely disappointed with the visit. We ordered for as pier street corn and asked to add lobster. They just gave me plain corn without lobster & I paid $13 for a small cup of corn.... RIDICULOUS!!! Firstly ,The guy did not understand what I was ordering and seemed sleepy or disinterested in what he was doing & totally seemed not to care much!!! I have been to Dock local in uptown a lot of times & never faced something like this. I have been to the Plano location as well. But nothing like this. The staff was definitely not friendly or welcoming. They don't have same menu in all the locations. I walked in to get the fried shrimp with a side of house chips, but instead got the house crab seasoned chips. And wanted corn with lobster, but just received pain corn. Even the crab queso was just tasting like regular queso. I regret going to dock local. The quality was mediocre & Felt robbed!!!! Never returning back. Adding pictures below.

Yelp
Received a very inappropriate response from someone claiming to be the owner of this place. My review was honest and there was no need for him to reach out with the response that he did. There are several other reviews that have the same opinion as me about this establishment food.

C R.

Yelp
I initially experienced a negative service rendering upon first visit yet it was proactively resolved by manager, Brett, with a genuine phone call and message apology. I love great service & he definitely exceeded my expectations. Their clam chowder and lobster grinder were exceptional and the menu gives a true variety of New England coastal favorites. Can't wait to return!

Rachael R.

Yelp
Sure, it's expensive, but it's amazing! We shared the lobster grilled cheese. It came with chips and Josie made pickles on the side! When I went to pick up the order, I got excited over the pickles being on the side and the chef who was running their stall gave us an extra side of pickles for free! The grilled cheese did not skimp on the lobster chunks either. Highly recommend!

Mynika C.

Yelp
We were looking for food in the area and found The Exchange Hall food court. There were multiple eateries inside, so we went with The Dock. We ordered the seafood mac + added shrimp (the mac is also served with chips) as an appetizer and the following tacos: shrimp tacos, baja fish tacos, and smokin salmon tacos. When our order was ready we realized that the food was cold, like very cold- all the seafood--not eating that. We returned everything so that it could be prepared again. While waiting we tried the seafood mac with the shrimp added. It cured the hunger we were experiencing, but the mac was very bland. After receiving the new order of food, which was not cold the second time around we dug in. The seafood was bland and not seasoned but the sauce and the toppings helped with the flavor. Besides that, The Dock was just okay. Probably won't return honestly. The customer service was good, and it was easy to place the order. The two gentlemen fixed the food order right away. I'm sure this place works for some people, but not for us.

Bryandt D.

Yelp
The dock is conveniently located in the new Exchange Hall in Downtown Dallas. This place has a lot of potential. The only reason I'm giving The Dock three stars is because of the customer service and preparation of the Connecticut. This was my first time at the store and the employee wasn't really helpful with selecting items on the menu. We ordered A LOT of food and we asked about the discount they had but they said we had to wait until our next time to get the offer... The shrimp roll has really good and I loved the seasoning. However, the Connecticut wasn't served as a roll. I had to put the lobster and seasoning into the roll myself, which I thought was really weird. The lobster grilled cheese was probably the best thing we ordered. I really enjoyed it. Coming from Philly, I love Lukes Lobster, but this place didn't impress me.

Molly T.

Yelp
Ok so it's a lunch splurge for me but well worth it. I ordered the special of the day, 3 tacos and you can mix & match. So I tried the salmon, shrimp and cod. We went early to beat the lunchtime rush. The food flew out promptly. My friend got the elotes and lobster Mac and cheese. She had chunks of lobster in her side dish and the corn looked amazing too! I ate all of my tacos and omitted just one tortilla. The flour tortillas were very good. My favorite was the cod. They're all served in the tortilla on a bed of fresh slaw and a delicious sweet/spicy sauce. I'd order it again and ask for more of that sauce! It was nice eating by the fountains and enjoying a quick lunch! Go there, try it! Or get that lobster fix taken care of!

Evelyn L.

Yelp
We ordered a lobster Mac and New England clam chowder. So I think the lobster Mac n cheese was good, but there was barley an lobster in it 2/5. The clam chowder was good; no complaints. Food was kinda pricy for how much you got so that's I gave it a low rating!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service. The lobster mac&chees sandwich is the bomb!

Herbert P.

Yelp
During a recent work trip, my colleagues and I found ourselves famished for dinner. We happened upon a place called the Exchange which included multiple dining options within its walls. Think of it as an upscale version of the food court in your local mall. Four of my colleagues ordered from The Dock. Their selections included the crab queso, lobster bisque soup, and tacos (shrimp, Baja fish, and Smokin' salmon). I have a seafood allergy so I was not able to partake, but every single patron reported their food was absolutely delicious. They all reported that their favorite was the shrimp taco. Now that's gotta be a fantastic shrimp taco to beat out a lobster roll, but that was the consensus. A few additional colleagues arrived at the Exchange looking for dining options so I referred them to The Dock. These colleagues, also, reported the shrimp taco to be their favorite! I will admit that all the dishes did look epic. You simply must try The Dock for a great seafood dining experience.

Brian W.

Yelp
The lobster roll is pretty legit, the clam chowder was pretty forgettable. Was hoping the score would be higher than average, but throw in some fresh-cooked but otherwise very, very plain chips to go with it and unfortunately I'm just not convinced enough to rate it higher, let alone say this is a place I would think would be one of my preferred choices to come back to in this particular food court.

Gil G.

Yelp
Ok so even though we just tried grilled shrimp taco and some lobster bisque which I will be back tomorrow for the bigger stuff I have to honestly say this place is super great! We just happen to bump into it by accident and I am glad that we happen to be in this area try this good food and great atmosphere and great service you guys keep up the good work we will see you again! I will put more pictures up tomorrow because I didn't today, ok went to this place three times in three days!! Omg!! It was super great!!

Sarah J.

Yelp
The food here was average. I felt like there was not much flavor and it was nothing amazing. Additionally, I asked for a receipt and the lady at the front told me they don't have the paper for the receipt and so instead I opted for the email receipt. I never got an emailed version and checked my bank and they charged me double the tip. I felt like she purposely denied me a receipt to do this. It was shady. And I would recommend avoiding this place.

N M.

Yelp
As a seafood lover I was excited to try this but it was just ok. We ordered the garlic lobster fries, bowl of clam chowder, bowl of lobster bisque, lobster grilled cheese and lobster BLT. The fries and soup was very very salty. The side chips were tasty and crispy. My daughter loved her lobster grilled cheese and the lobster BLT was delicious and lots of meat in it. But you have to drink a gallon of water after the meal way too salty.

Rich S.

Yelp
:loud church bell strike: "WHAT?! This Shrimp Taco is Awesome!" I ordered via Doordash here last night. The garlic shrimp taco was the surprise winner, along with the Baja and Salmon tacos. I've always been skeptical of Fish tacos (and have never had good experiences with them), but i feel like this place - "Nailed It." These tacos overall had a citrus-y vibe going, which was unexpected, for no reason. Heheh! I felt like i was eating at the beach! I'm hoping a Blackened Fish Taco will materialize in the future! Several reviews mention the lack of lobster; i didn't see a lobster taco on DD. Not sure if it's on the menu in person... The owner states inflation in seafood market pricing (my words), which makes sense to me. I recently tried to buy fish at Whole Foods Uptown, and prices had surged on their seafood as well. Everything is going up, post 2020 pandemic. I'll wait on any lobster-based dishes until a later time. Or, just buy and cook it myself. More ordering options on doordash, please! (I ordered all my tacos without Pico, but couldn't add or subtract anything else.) The to-go order prep needs more attention, as it looked like the tacos self-imploded inside their containers. It's possible they used a driver from The Fast and Furious movies to deliver it, and things got shifted around. The order was sealed and stapled together, so that was nice! (Maybe toothpicking tacos together? Or something. Or wrapping them in aluminum foil, perhaps?) I hope to visit them in person soon; they're in my neighborhood, just a few blocks away. :Church bell finished ringing:

Yelp
First time visiting the exchange! The Dock immediately caught my attention as I've been yearning for a lobster roll, and they did NOT disappoint! I ordered the Connecticut roll which was nice, hot, juicy and nicely filled! So yummy, do recommend!

Kendra B.

Yelp
The lobster grilled cheese tasted awesome, but it wasn't a grilled cheese. The cheese was barely warm. The lobster bisque was way too thick and didn't really have much lobster flavor.

Marcel M.

Yelp
Fire! Absolute fuego! Had the Maine lobster roll. SOB it was good af! Flew in from Las Vegas (epicenter of bomb.com dining) and had this for dinner.

Marlo B.

Yelp
I had a lobster roll and the homemade chips. It was amazing! A bit pricey but definitely worth it for a treat.

Laura E.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but i was practically dying to go back after trying their tacos! I'm a regular customer now and can safely say that the food is fresh, fast and they always give out big portions considering the market price. Customer service is outstanding. keep the good work!

Erin E.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite spot in the exchange but tonight I paid over $48 for a Connecticut roll and a lobster bisque bowl. The roll was fine except light on the lobster. It's hard to mess up though. It's toasted bread and lobster slapped on there. Simple. I paid $9 for soup that had one single tiny pathetic piece of lobster on it. I mean TINY. I went back to the counter and asked if it was an error. It was not an error. I was informed that the price of lobster is too high to make the food as advertised. Yikes. Super disappointed. I ended up dumping my lobster from the roll into the bisque. I won't be frequenting here anymore. Good service. Nice people. It's just way too expensive for what I actually walk away with. As a kid from upstate New York who spent their summers in Maine - this was a massive let down. I came here for a taste of home regularly but cannot justify paying more than I would for an 8oz fillet (with sides) for a lobster roll and the saddest bowl of flavorless soup I've ever seen. It genuinely bums me out for this place as it immediately felt like they were unable to meet expectations and that's a death nail to a restaurant.

Kevin P.

Yelp
Tried the Maine lobster roll today. In truth, I was skeptical. It's hard finding a proper Lobster Roll in Dallas - when you are from the east coast and know what a fresh one right off the boat tastes like. The verdict: passable in a pinch. If that's what you really want, then this one will do. It's under-seasoned though, so get some salt and pepper. But, the crab chips were NOT crab chips. Mine had zero old bay seasoning on them; so... a tasty chip yes, but a crap chip? No. I'd come back and try other items though.

T.J. M.

Yelp
I had an excellent experience. The lobster grinder was good and Laura provided excellent customer service & was very helpful. Food order was prepared very quickly, as well.
