The 15 Best Restaurants In Wildwood 2024 - Jersey Shore - The Infatuation

"If you love the feeling of being out on the water but can’t quite swing the yacht club membership, dinner at the Dock in West Wildwood might be the next best thing. Tables at the casual BYOB are on a deck so close to the Grassy Sound, it feels like you’re scooping up spicy tuna ponzu in the middle of the back bay. Start with oysters, especially if crisp Cape May Salts are on offer, and one of the ceviches paired with housemade chips. For tacos, try the wild-caught blackened tuna, mahi with fresh corn salsa, and brussels sprouts with pickled jalapenos and chipotle vinaigrette. Round out dinner with one of the perfectly-spiced sides (the queso-smothered Old Bay fries are a crowd pleaser). If you happen to be there for a sunset, it’s the ideal shore dining experience—no seersucker required." - regan stephens, candis mclean, sydney mcelwee

Google
Delicious food and an unbeatable view! The tacos were tasty, the fries were incredible, and the waterfront setting made it even better. We enjoyed beautiful weather and music and had a great time all around.

Google
The Dock in West Wildwood is a must-visit! Gorgeous water views, fresh oysters, tasty tacos, and refreshing drinks everything hit the spot. Perfect vibes all around!

Andrew Karcich

Google
Stumbled across this place and had some excellent tacos! Great ambience on the water and very casual so great for kids. Really great food and looking forward to going back again to try out the rest of the menu!

Christian Falcon

Google
Went out for a friend’s birthday this past weekend, and everything was spectacular. The food was fresh. The service was attentive and friendly! Great spot for outside seating! We will be back

Amy Mertz

Google
Limited menu, BYOB, beautiful views sitting outside. Oysters were way too small size of a dime...$19.50 for 6. Long hots on special for $9 were tasty, just needed more cheese and tomatoes. Shrimp tacos were delicious. Hamburger was horrible, bun was stale and burger tasteless. They didn't have bacon because according to our waitress"we're not that kind of restaurant". What does that even mean? "Loaded" fries for $10 only had cheese on them and couldn't taste Old Bay on them. Service started out excellent but then our waitress was hard to find when we needed her.

Jacob Biggs

Google
Amazing! The food was fresh the service was great. I love the vibe on the dock. I will definitely be going back. That Jersey tomato salad was like nothing else.

Jennifer Cassada

Google
There's literally nowhere around that has food, a view, and staff that are as good as this place. I'm pretty sure we've tried everything but the kids meals & we never have been disappointed.

Marco Leal

Google
This place is amazing! Very different from the typical Wildwood restaurant. The outside seating is fantastic. Make sure you arrive well before sunset so you can fully enjoy the experience of having your email throughout the sunset. Food is great and everything's really fresh. Staff is very nice and helpful.

Yelp
This place is on the water. When eating here, it really feels like I'm on vacation somewhere in the Caribbean. The decor, water and music contributed to this feel. At the time of day we got there, it was not too crowded. We were seated right away. This is a BYOB restaurant. The waitress offered cups and beverages from the menu and then came back to take our order. The food came out pretty quick but we did not feel rushed at all. We stayed for a couple of drinks that we brought with us. We were there for a while enjoying the company and atmosphere. The Mahi Tacos were excellent and 1 person got the shrimp taco and also enjoyed it.

Margaret G.

Yelp
The food was gross. There were no kid choices. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzle gggggggooggleeeeeeee

Yelp
Great place and amazing neighborhood.. do wish it was open year round though but I get it it's not worth it financially Definitely recommend it though

Yelp
An unpretentious raised dockside restaurant overlooking a marina. They have somewhat limited menu, are BYOB and we could bring our dog. We were sat in an area with picnic tables - maybe because of the dog? Service was fast and friendly. They brought an ice bucket for our wine. We ordered the roasted poblanos and the jersey tomatoes. The poblanos ran hot but were good with the cheese that came with them. The tomatoes were tasty! We also order fish tacos and shrimp tacos. Food had lots of flavor and the location was perfect for a casual bite. We'll definitely go back.

Yelp
This place is such a gem!! They've got a cute outdoor setup, super high quality food and they're BYOB. My table got the loaded fries to share and they were yummy - the aioli they put on it really makes it. I shared the scallop and tuna tacos and both were fantastic, the seafood was super fresh. Other people in my group got the oysters and burger and were happy with their items. One thing to note is that the scallop tacos aren't super filling though I think that's to be believed expected when ordering scallops in general. I'll definitely be recommending this place to friends and family!

Rona T.

Yelp
Location on the water is great...place was sort of unassuming being mixed in with residential housing. our server was attentive, and oysters were delicious!
google avatar

Sara G.

Yelp
Not bad. The tacos are solid (fish and scallop) and a reasonable price. Oysters are fine. Ceviche lacks fish. Overpriced but everything is around here. BYO and super casual.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great local place. The tacos are delicious. I don't even eat fish but they had such a wide variety of non fish tacos and other dishes. The service was friendly & very knowledgeable about the menu. This is an awesome secret find that we really enjoyed!

Yelp
The Dock is exactly the type of restaurant that hits all the marks for a post beach, relaxing dining experience. The restaurant is right on a dock nestled right off the bridge that brings you over to the small and often forgotten island of West Wildwood. The views are great, the service friendly and attentive by a well trained staff that goes out of their way to please you and ensure you feel completely comfortable. We started with a sampling of fresh oysters (Cape May big boys and Canadian salts). They were served chilled on a bed of ice with both a house made cocktail sauce and a mignonette. We started with the blistered long hot appetizer which was super spicy charred Long hot peppers served with chunks of tomatoes and manchengo cheese wedges. Our side dish was the loaded fries which were drizzled with street corn Mayo, scallions, old bay seasoning, and crumbled contiga cheese. For the main course we ordered the ahi tuna tacos and the scallop tacos. Both were probably the best tacos I've ever had. The restaurant is also BYOB so don't forget to bring a bottle of wine which they will chill in a bucket of ice if you please. All and all this was a phenomenal experience and a place we will likely frequent.

Yelp
Great ambiance, great food. Typical shore service...friendly but not excellent. Great spot to bring the kids and friendly dogs are welcome too
google avatar

Yelp
Got the blackened mahi fish tacos and although a bit small, they were VERY good. I will be back.

Yelp
Fantastic hidden gem in Wildwoods, NJ. Scallop tacos are phenomenal. The loaded fries are a table favorite. Great place for friends and family dinners. Staff are super friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent and relaxing atmosphere. Food is good but not great. BYOB helps to keep the cost down.

Yelp
We had a great dinner outside, sheltered enough from an evening storm as it rolled through - the tacos were delicious, my husband loved his cheeseburger, we devoured a huge container of fries, and the staff was lovely.
google avatar

Yelp
If you go here, they offer many options for tacos, but it's call the Dock. Not the farm so stick to seafood. Beef options will disappoint. The fish tacos were delightful, but the biggest complaint I have is that the tacos are very small. They serve 3 of them and you'll still be hungry. I had to order a second round to curb my appetite. The place is really on a dock so there's no atmosphere and it was a windy day when we dined here...so not their fault, but a warning. While the prices are not outrageous...what you get for them is a let down. You've been warned.

Maryann M.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Service top notch. Had a wonderful dinner on the dock looking at the water. Highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
"Yes seafood in Wildwood exists that isn't fried" This is a fantastic lunch or early dinner place. As the name implies, it is in on the water, in a marina in Wildwood. Although a little out of way, it is worth it! I've come here probably 6x and each one was a great experience from the service to the food. What's to cheer - Fish and scallop taco - Ceviche (yes, I've actually been to Peru and this is pretty good. Way better than anything I've had South of Atlantic City) - Oysters, local ones - Prompt and friendly service - BYOB What's to Jeer - Well it is in Wildwood. Lot of mixing with the Hoi Polloi - Sometimes they sell out of dishes
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh oysters were served simply with lemon and cocktail sauce, but they did not need much more! Scallop tacos were a first for me, but were VERY good! The shrimp tacos were also delicious, the char on the shrimp and corn was a great touch! Cevich was also very good! BYOB, Friendly & fast service, great view!

Yelp
Cute little place with marina deck view tables. Great service and food. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Food is so good! This might be the best meal I have had in a while.. I said I should leave a review and my h said yes but sorta didn't want it to spread too far and always booked.. I agree but also want it to do well and stay. Service is good too. The girls are young but they are polite and courteous and know the menu well. Ambiance is great too. Right on the water. Chill and layback. The kind you wear a nice dress but in your flip flops... We will come back for sure

Tina D.

Yelp
I had the fried chicken taco! I can't wait to go back and have it again. Oysters were superb! We all 6 of us enjoyed the sunset and our meals. !

TJ M.

Yelp
Third time eating here. Best tacos around. Food is fresh and served quickly. Byob with a nice view.

Sean C.

Yelp
My family stopped in for dinner. Didn't realize it was BYOB around the corner was a Liquor Store. The service was awesome. The food was great. Had a great time and great atmosphere on the water hidden gem.

Yelp
So, this is a fairly new place in Wildwood. They have some kinks to work out, which is to be expected for a new place. GREAT location. Very pretty, just what you want to see when you get to the shore and want to unwind. My wife and I ordered a few things - some raw oysters, a ceviche, and an order of scallop tacos. While everything was tasty, the oysters were small, the ceviche was small, and the tacos - you guessed it, small. That's okay, we weren't looking to stuff ourselves, but to come out of the place with a fairly hefty bill, well, you are clearly paying for the scenery. Nothing was cheap. I wouldn't have left a review, but this got my goat: they charged us $2 a piece for a GLASS OF TAP WATER. No mention of this on their menu. They have a limited drink menu (and they don't have a liquor license) so you are kind of forced to pay. For water. For tap water. Ugh! To pay 17 bucks for 3 skimpy tacos where the scallops were sliced, and you get a couple of bites per taco. And not to even get a free glass of water - this isn't good. I'm getting myself into a tizzy here...

Yelp
Just a very cool place with good food. If you are Looking for a quick meal, this is the place. The catch of the day tacos (swordfish) were great - as were the fried oyster and scallops tacos. It's BYOB and we will definitely return. Great views as well.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Hands down best food we had all trip. The blackened tuna tacos with queso fresco were definitely our favorite. The ingredients tasted so fresh. But really everything was delicious including the loaded old bay fries and oysters. Great service and such a lovely atmosphere being right on the docks. BYOB was also a fun plus!
google avatar

Giselle H.

Yelp
This is the second year in a row that we dine here. It is a simple place but the food is so fresh and delicious that I would recommend to anyone! I say simple because they're soft drinks are very limited but it's a BYO so that part is great. Definitely worth a visit!!
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Such a cool little place with a great vibe and awesome oysters! BYOB, no wait and something for everyone. Will definitely go back!

Chuck H.

Yelp
Great food. , cool atmosphere , byob Everything you can ask for at the shore Never heard of a Brussels sprouts taco but it was surprising delicious

Thomas M.

Yelp
Amazing place and great servers. Are favorite place in the area. Just what you need at the beach
google avatar

Vivian H.

Yelp
Small cozy setting right by the water! This is one of my favorite places to visit by far. The fish of day tacos were delicious and the rare oysters were very clean. I will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Jenn R.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner early out on the back deck. The place had just opened and staff were still getting out the kinks but the food and tacos were really good. Had some delicious ceviche, $1 oysters
google avatar

Yelp
We were wowed by this tiny outdoor BYOB in West wildwood on the bay! We met friends here recently for a first time visit. We were seated quickly and Our server Hillary was amazing. The menu is mostly ceviche and tacos with a good amount of starters/sides. There were a wide variety of taco fillings - we each chose the Korean beef, crispy chicken and scallops. You get three of each on corn tortillas. We also ordered a side of corn on the cob, mozzarella and tomato salad and fries. All food was delicious and fresh. Awesome atmosphere, lush breezes and wonderful sunsets to be had from this bayside eatery!

Yelp
This place was awesome! It is somewhat of a dive, but, in a good way..... we own a home in wildwood for 7 years and had never been to west wildwood, and, if it were not for The Dock, we might have never gone back! Only 10-12 tables, right on the bay...no reservations, and BYO. What brought us there were other positive reviews. The menu is small...they sell oysters, ceviche, tacos and a handful of sides. If those are not your jam--then you should likely go elsewhere...but, if you like Oysters (Del Bay and Canadian the night we went), Ceviche (3 or 4 kinds), Tacos (about 6 or 7 options) then you are in for a treat. Oysters were fresh and delicious. Ceviche was very flavorful and good. We had Mahi Tacos and Scallop Tacos, both awesome...and oh yeah--some really, really good French Fries! Not cheap, but fairly priced for good quality food. Negatives? Not many....I thought the tacos were just a little dry and wanted some salsa or pico....(they had cholula, but it was still missing something). And, if the weather is not good--they only have a few tables under cover--the others are fully exposed to the elements. Anyway, still a great new find in west wildwood, and we will definitely be back for round 2!

Cody M.

Yelp
Ordered takeout, house is 2 min walk from the dock and surprisingly food wasn't hot. Tacos were average at best and I don't know what you call these "chicken fingers"

Yelp
My fiancé, his daughter, and myself came in early this evening for dinner. We needed some shade. The male hostess was kind enough to pull a table under the canopy to get us out of the sunlight. I can't recall our server's name, but she was an absolute peach. The hibiscus tea Arnold Palmer style was delicious. I could've drank a gallon of it. The server even brought my fiancé a little decanter of simple syrup so he could sweeten his tea if he wished. All of our food came out quick. The oysters had VERY good flavor. The corn on the cob had a nice seasoning, not overpowering. The loaded Old Bay fries were devoured by the three of us quicker than I could blink. My fiancé's daughter enjoyed her blackened tuna tacos. My fiancé and I split the fried chicken tacos and the short rib tacos. Both had great flavor. The ONLY thing I suggest (and I really mean only) is that the tacos need to be larger. They're very tiny and cute (and delicious), but not filling as a meal/main dish -- I've seen this mentioned in other reviews as well. Eating by the docks was also great. It's quiet and peaceful aside from the occasional jet ski that will come in to dock, but hey, that's neat to watch. Overall, kudos to The Dock. We will be back next year!

Bill I.

Yelp
We never knew the restaurant was even a business owner n West Wildwood. Wish we never went , I never saw tacos so small and with no ingredients. Attached is a picture of the beef tacos. When the best thing we had was the fries, that should tell you something.

Yelp
Fantastic outdoor BYOB dining spot located on the water in West Wildwood open Thursday-Sunday. Delicious fresh Cerviche, shoestring fries with old bay and queso Fresca crumbles and blackened tuna tacos- great service by Hannah - can't wait to go back. Here's some pics. Awesome food.
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
There's almost no wait time here. So if you're looking for a good place to eat at night fast, this is it. The tacos are good but I find myself wanting the portion size to be a bit bigger. I got the Korean bbq but it was extremely dry and gamey. I also got the scallop taco which was good. I regret not getting only the scallops. So I'm a little iffy about returning to this place again. A plus is the dock is right near a nice view of the boats.

Angie B.

Yelp
Food is delicious, and the setting can't be beat, right on the dock! Remember to BYOB!
google avatar

Jenna R.

Yelp
LOVE the ceviches and tacos! The food and service is always great! BYOB right on the water great for lunch or sunset dinner. You've gotta check this place out!
google avatar

Yelp
Tacos - 4.75 Corn - 5.0 Tomato appetizer- 5.0 Service - 4.5 Fries - 4.5 Place is great. You get your food 5 minutes after you order. View is great and never really packed.

Yelp
We ordered the catch of the day taco with Tuna and it was excellent. Unfortunately things didn't go quite as well with the Spicy Tuna Ponzu Ceviche we ordered with the optional add-on of scallops for an additional $3. We ordered it without the spicy mayo because I don't like mayo. What arrived at my table was ceviche with just scallops. I asked where the tuna was and was told it was ordered wrong with the kitchen. I got a replacement meal with the tuna added and it was okay, but not too flavorful. After eating when the check arrived it said that spicy mayo was omitted from the order, but the fermented chile and garlic was omitted too, even though I never asked for that omission. I asked the waitress why that happened and she said that since I said I don't like spicy, she took it upon herself to omit it. I told her that I omitted the spicy mayo because I don't like mayo, not that I don't like spicy. It was too late to fix things so I apparently ate a ceviche with some of the important flavoring missing. I don't expect to return.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
The food is definitely overpriced, and it's not bad but also not great. Super beautiful view though!!
google avatar

Joey B.

Yelp
Wow! Walking in my wife and I didn't know what to think. The view is decent, then asked about the MP tuna tacos. $16...ok sure I'll bite We also ordered the fries. Came out 5 mins later amazing cut! Very soon after our tacos came out and was worth every dollar. Highly recommend this place if you are in a rush for a quick bite.
google avatar

Yelp
Outstanding service from personable, polite, attentive staff (Anna). Tuna ceviche was out of this world!!! Wife had scollop tacos which she gobbled up (and didn't share). Oysters were fantastic. Such a pleasant, quiet, good meal with the family. BYOB. Soooo worth it!!!!

Yelp
Great little gem tucked away on the water. You feel like your in the Caribbean. Can't wait to come back again.

Cassidy G.

Yelp
Was craving tacos and this place did not disappoint. Got the blackened tuna tacos and they were cooked to perfection. Also tried some of the oysters which were fresh and delicious. Great staff and nice location as well.

Yelp
Our last & best meal of our vacation and I wish we'd discovered it sooner -- we would have been back a 2nd time. Great fish tacos, oysters, everything was perfect. Service was on point and the vibe was delightful. Fantastic food. Highly recommended.
