"Drinking at The Doctor’s Office is the closest thing to having a fresh cocktail poured by a hospitable friend at their place. Exhibit A: sometimes you’ll receive some Champagne as a welcome present. Exhibit B: we’ve also been handed a full liquor bottle with a glass of ice and told, “you know what a pour looks like.” The space feels exclusive—it’s a small, dark room with a marble bar and a sofa. And though we’ve been able to walk right in before, you should definitely make a reservation. The menu is a bit complicated to decipher, but just let the staff know what you’re in the mood for and they'll whip something great up. If you don’t like going out, this is the place where you should go out. "The Doctor's Office has a vibe that couldn't be more different than the chaotic swirling nightlife of Capitol Hill happening just outside on Olive Way. This bar is intimate and quiet, and you’ll receive a glass of complimentary Champagne. Make an "appointment" and order a vodka martini that comes with a beaker of olive juice meant to personally customize how dirty you like it. "One of the finest craft cocktail bars in Seattle, the Doctor’s Office is often noted for its selection of rare and expensive high-end spirits and its reservations-suggested energy, but it’s every bit as welcoming and fun as it is lavish. (And for the record, drink prices here are right in line with other craft cocktail spots in town.) You’ll be greeted with a gratis pour of bubbly and a warmed hand towel to settle in. Check out that kooky-cool red polka dot bathroom. Order a Spanish coffee and you might get treated to a cheekily over-the-top send-up of flair bartending. As owner Matthew “Dr. Matt” Powell puts it, “The only way to know we could honestly tell a guest, ‘This is the best Negroni I’ve ever had’ was to try every combination. So that’s exactly what we did.” But don’t let TDO’s exacting approach, high-end spirits selection, and reservations-recommended MO be mistaken for pretense. While our friends also have fun decor in their home bathrooms, they’re nothing like the Doctor’s Office. Red Yayoi Kusama-esque polka dots are scattered across every surface in the white-walled restroom, a stark departure from the dark and moody feel of the bar.
