The strawberries were very fresh and the waffles were crispy and good. The size was small but it's not a bad place to go to if you're looking for a sweet snack

The bubble waffle cone we got was pretty good. It's pretty sweet and heavy so I would recommend that you don't go if you aren't too comfortable with something a bit overly sweet. There was a pretty long line but after our order was taken it didn't take that long. There were seats on the second floor but the material of the table was a bit sticky so I wasn't sure if it was clean or if it was just the table

Delicious ice cream! Worth the Lactaid pills! We had a cup of Ube, strawberry on a sugar cone and two signature waffles in our order. Service was slow but she’s one person! She took her time, made the waffles fresh and everything was perfect. We sat upstairs to eat and it was chilly! Doubt I’d return because I’m not local but it was worth the parking hunt!

I had the best waffle here. I like that you can customize your own with tons of different options and it was fresh and warm and delicious. I do feel like the prices were a bit high to add ice cream and such but not terrible. I didn't love this location just because parking isn't the best and the area is a bit creepy at night but they had good seating inside and are open late.

I can't believe the place closed in Sherman Oaks. This is the best ice cream place I've been too. Just focusing on the ice cream itself it is so creamy and rich but what makes it all so much better is the bubble waffle cones with the mix in. That combination is to die for. The Sherman Oaks location has a fun little backside to sit and lounge and eat the ice cream.

The custom bubble waffle that I received today and last night was so good and it was made to perfection! And I think its bc the management changed and the employees actually can make the orders right!! I ordere the bubble Waffle with salted caramel ice cream, nutella sauce, caramel sauce, brownie topping, and Whipped cream and powdered sugar!! I am in love!! 😍😍🥰🥰🥰 The only thing was that there were fruit flies swarming around the topping containers :(, BIG TURN OFF!!!!! Fix that and it's perfect!!!!

The place is great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I would like to see more ice cream options and they were out of the waffle sticks which I went there to try. But, the puffed waffle cone was very good too. The atmosphere is very fun and good place to go with friends or a small family outing. Not very much seating so large groups should anticipate taking theirs to go.

I went back to Dolly Llama tonight to give it another chance. Today I did try the shake and the waffles. Let me tell you, the waffles was alright. The milkshake was good too! However they are both just so sweet. I think the menu needs to be updated and the color palate of the room and store needs to be changed to something more appealing. I got a chance to take a look at the merch too, but the llama needs chrome heart glasses or something. Those 99 cent blue shades gotta go for real. After all that is done, it will get the 5th star and be perfect.

The people that were working this spot were amazing! Walked in and I started singing "one time for the birthday bish...." And they joined in. Then they went and turn that EXACT song on for us and we were ALL dancing and laughing! Their customer service was so genuine and fun!! I ordered the EXPRESS with a scoop of ube. Man, so good! Had chocolate, a waffle and strawberries. Much needed in the humidity! It was nice and cool inside there too!

Bubble waffle is always the move. PERIOD. Ok I've never had the og leige waffle, but the bubble waffle does seem like the best mechanism to enjoy ice cream. I much preferred dolly's dream over sugar n' spice Definitely wanna try llama gone nuts and maybe a matcha/ube with condensed milk

I was scrolling through Yelp for something but nothing in particular and came across this place. We went in the evening and there is only street parking which is horrible. So if you have an idea of what you want maybe you can place a phone order and have someone hop out and pick it up while your circle around. My daughter, cousin and I took the ride out in hopes for a delicious sweet treat. We enjoyed the experience and have gone back since then. The dessert options are really good and the service is quick. It's not a huge place but a nice size for the business. Lovely place not loud.

This place should have all its stars. Affordable delicious Cookie Monster shake with this wonderful Hommade, warm, soft crisp waffle. I was blown away. Woke up thinking about it. Ultimate munchie. So Delicious. I dipped my waffle in the shake. Can't wait to try more things.

Very friendly staff. Some seating. I am thankful I'm in walking distance because parking is rough. The product itself, delicious. It can rack up in price so just be careful what you're adding.

Came in with the family and we're welcome with a nice smile. First time here and the staff were really helpful with our order. My daughter build her own I ice cream cup and she loved it. I got the party animal and let me tell you I was a kid enjoying the ice cream. We will definitely come back and recommend this place

Been a while since I visited Dolly Llama, but because I was in the area and craving dessert, I decided to pop back in and try it out once more! The menu did not change much over the years, they still offer their popular bubble waffle cones, waffles, ice creams and shakes! Because I wanted to be in the spirit of the season, I decided to try the Thanksgiving Turkey Waffle Cone! It comes with a scoop of Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream, a Nutella drizzle, a cute little Turkey topper made out of Oreos and candy corn and of course the bubble waffle! The ice cream was just okay, I felt that it lacked a bit of flavor. The Nutella helped, but I felt I needed more than just a drizzle to help it out! The waffle on the other hand was phenomenal, super soft, bouncy and warm! I would recommend trying out the ice cream before ordering to make sure you like the flavor! I forgot to try out the pumpkin, maybe I should've subbed it out for a more flavor flavor?! Great waffle cones!

Ice cream flavors : tasty and creamy - they have vegan options if that's what you want :) This is a Colorful spot indoors with seating upstairs and you get large windows to see outside at this corner location. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices aren't cheap for each scoop ($5, $7 for vegan), but it's on par with similar specialty ice cream places.

Came here Thursday night out the blue looking for something sweet. The menu is pretty epic but i just went with the basic #1 i believe it was. Nutella strawberry and the original waffle. Gave 5 stars for the lady adding more caramel and Nutella on request and not being shy about it. No line when i walked in around 7pm and there's a seating area. Parking may be the only reason to give this place 4 stars because it took 10 mins of circling the block to find any. Would definitely come back though

Came here for late night dessert. I really wanted to try the waffle ice cream combos, but it was late so I settled for a basic cup scoop instead. I loved the mint chocolate chip! The ice cream was sweet and fresh. I'll def come back to this place more and give another review when i try the bubble waffles. I only took off 1 star because service was a bit slow. There was only 2 employees helping like 6 customers, but it was like 10:15 pm on a sunday so I understand.

This place is adorable. I love the name, so I was really excited to try it. But I just didn't like it, the bubble had no flavor, ice cream was just ok. The staff was very kind, helpful, and patient... oh, and there's street parking.

The only main problem here is that this place is located in a very terrible dirty area. The service was good and they were fast. The waffle I got was actually really nice and somewhat crunchy enough that burned perfectly with the ice cream we really enjoyed it.

Hidden gem! Don't have much of a sweet tooth on my own but gosh this was heavenly! Get the waffle buffle ice cream! Made in front of you waffle was warm, fluffy and flavorful and goes so well with ice cold ice cream.

Dessert spot with waffles & ice cream. Came here after dinner at Mr Bossam around 10pm on a Friday with a group of 6 and there was still a short line. Note that if you check in on Yelp, you get a free topping. You can customize your ice cream and toppings, and get a liege waffle or a bubble waffle. Credit cards are accepted. There's limited counter seating indoors, and the second level is currently closed. Street parking. No restrooms that I could see. They do have vegan options. You order and pay at the counter first, and then they call out your name. A friend and I split the Dolly's Dream in a bubble waffle, which is the Cookie Monster ice cream with brownies, strawberries, and whipped cream. The Cookie Monster ice cream is less sweet than its appearance would suggest (which is a good thing); it has some chunks of cookie dough and is a bit icy. It's a good dessert to split with a friend or two, since it's pretty filling.

Honestly, the ice cream was okay, the waffle was great, but it's all just over priced. This place is a novelty and gimmick. I felt that there wasn't enough variety of flavors and they really get you with up charges for every little addition. It's more worth it to just buy some ice cream at the store.

Parking is a bit of a bear (bring coins for the meter), but the ice cream was delicious. The young lady working the counter was super helpful and friendly and she gave great suggestions to this first time visitor. A little gem tucked away in Ktown...when my travels take me back there I'll definitely visit again!

The only thing worse than the ice cream was the service. Tried 3 samples and left. Like that bad. Even bad ice cream is good enough but wow??? And the kids behind the counter could not care less that we were there, ignoring us and talking to each other. How is this place open.

Ube ice cream tasted like vanilla ice cream... milkshake just tasted like milk. maybe we ordered the wrong things? The shop itself is cute and within walking distance of restaurants which was the only plus. Not sure we would be back!

Let me just say that this place is very, for the lack of a better word, meh. I ordered the snow storm shake for $11. 11 dollars for just a mediocre shake is very surprising. Also, I really don't know what they were thinking adding an entire oreo into the shake, not even broken up. How am I supposed to eat it with just a straw? At least add oreo crumbles, that'd be nice. I know they're known for their bubble waffle which my cousin got. I tried it and it's also not that great. Taiwanese places make it WAY better. Service was fine, nothing bad. Although next time, I think I rather go somewhere else for a dessert place. I only tried this place because I wanted to try a new place as opposed to getting somi somi.

We happened upon this place when we were walking through the area and decided ice cream was in order since we're having a heatwave! The decor is so cute in here how could not want to stop in. We went with a signature bubble waffle called the party animal. The salted caramel ice cream was rich and creamy and the bubble waffle was so fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. It's definitely decadent and shareable! Now the reason for 4 stars, I ordered a iced coffee with almond milk. It was the most bland watery coffee I've ever had in my life. But I guess I shouldn't have expected great coffee when they are known for their waffles and ice cream. Other than I would come back to try other items on the menu.

After dinner at JINYA Ramen Bar we needed some dessert. So we went to our trusty food finder Yelp to find a dessert spot. We came across The Dolly Llama Parking is kind of hard to find. We had to circle around the block a couple times to find a parking spot. We finally found a spot in the front. The inside of the store was super cute. I apologize in advance because I did not take pictures of the dessert we got. We took it back to the hotel and dug in. My boyfriend ordered a bubble waffle with horchata ice cream with condense milk. He asked for the bubble waffle to be wrapped separately since we were taking it back to the hotel. The condense milk was also placed in a small container. He thought the horchata ice cream was ok. He has better in a spot in Berkeley. My sister ordered a bubble waffle with matcha ice cream. My sister also asked for her bubble waffle to be wrapped separately. She thought the matcha ice cream was delicious. I tried it and it was a little off to me. Not as creamy as I like. My mom ordered the peanut butter cinnamon toast crunch. She loved it. My dad and I were so plain. We both just ordered a scoop of ice cream. My dad ordered a scoop of chocolate ice cream and I ordered a scoop of horchata ice cream. I thought the horchata ice cream was really good and creamy. There were mixed reviews of the bubble waffle. My sister finished her bubble waffle before we got back to the hotel and the hotel ride was only 10 minutes away. She thought it was very tasty. On the other hand my boyfriend thought the bubble waffle was to heavy. He compares all bubble waffle to spot we go to in Berkeley.

I ordered the bubble waffle with horchata Ice cream & brownie bits. The total for only one was about $12 when it was supposed to be around $10. I was hoping for a big portion & for it to be amazing at that point. The waffle was really good, fluffy and thick but a bit too sweet and might've been undercooked. Only one scoop of ice cream it was also too sweet, creamy, but it truly tasted like it was made from real horchata. Overall, both of them being really sweet was too much and I wasn't able to finish it all. I think it's overpriced and should actually be around $8-9. Friendly service and cute interior but I wouldn't waste my money again. 7/10

We tried this place when craving some ice cream roaming around DTLA. The area is a little meh especially at night when we went but the actual establishment was cute and fun. The Ice cream was very good. I ordered a kids cone for my daughter and it was huge. I attached a picture to show. Very good ice cream, if this place was closer to where I lived I would be in trouble getting it often lol

Definitely an Instagram worthy creation. Unfortunately for them, I don't really do social media, so the only place these are getting posted is on here. I got Dolly's Dream Bubble Waffle. The Ultimate Cookie Monster ice cream was really good and I would definitely recommend it to everyone (although it gets a bit sweet after a while). Unfortunately, there was only 3 pieces of brownie and 4 slices of strawberry on mine. They put enough to make it pretty, but it needs more with all the ice cream and waffle they give to make it a good balance.

On this day 6/18/23 @ 8pm, the guy taking the order took it right, but the 2 Hispanic young girls had the nerve to give attitude when they made my order wrong. The shake was so watery and they put the ice cream in a cup instead of a waffle cone like I ordered. Simple order and can't get it right. If your the owner seeing this review, I would fire or tell those girls to do better with the customer service. Not showing attitude and rolling the eyes and throwing the toppings around in the shake. You should give good Service when paying over priced fosselman's ice cream. You can actually just go to fosselman's in Alhambra, Ca and get a scoop of ice cream for $2.50 I was so excited and was looking forward to go to this place, cause they marketed this place really well. The truth is it's overpriced and over hyped and all you get is bad customer service. I will spread the word to everyone and not recommend this place. By the way I am a food blogger and will continue to not recommend this place to anyone.

I've passed by multiple times and finally decided to stop in. There wasn't anyone else there so I looked at the menu, trying to find something that struck out. The staff was quick to answer my questions and served the next group that came in after me-it took me that long to decide. I ended up getting the Dolly's Dream in a bubble waffle. I liked the ice cream and the brownie and nutella but the waffle was okay. I thought the waffle wasn't as sweet or airy as other HK-style bubble waffles. The combination of ice cream and waffle was good, but the waffle itself could be a little better.

Ok la ... Liege waffle, 2.5 stars - waffle was cold n extremely sweet, I can randomly taste the sugar granules (not pleasant). Texture was ok. No shade but Jamba Juice offers a better waffle. Strawberry vegan ice cream, 4 stars - pleasantly surprised at how tasty this was. Had the consistency of a real ice cream!! It's made with cashew milk so the ice cream had a nutty flavor n very creamy at the same time. I knocked one star off due to its sweetness. Their stuff is sweet here. Service, 5 stars - its Covid time. Kudos to all the peeps that's in the food industry Parking - street, good luck Side note - bring a jacket. AC is on full blast

It's the Light_skin_dragon coming to you from a review way back in 2019. Back when I was super happy and motivated. Jennifer was the person that was helping me make my ice cream cone. It was massive which I enjoyed. If you have not been there please check it out. Make sure you have money for the meter because there is no garage or parking lots. From what I remember I left a 5 star because I was one of the first person to come and eat here and try it out before covid. I surely do miss doing stuff. Pretty sure I got food poisoning from here. They were so understaffed on a sat, I felt bad for the 2 workers up front. The line was extremely long and slow moving because of that. I don't blame them, they needed more help. It was SO HOT in there, unsure why the heater was cranked so high with that many bodies inside. Really cute concept and I wanted to love it. But my body didn't...

We ordered the matcha and ube ice cream with waffle. Make sure you clarify your order because they didn't ask and put 2 waffles in our order. I just wanted to try the waffle and my boyfriend really liked it. The ice creams were just right amount of sweetness. Also, there's cool seating on the second level.

We go the Cookie Monster flavored ice cream. It was bomb to say the least. Definitely trying the milkshake version the next visit

The caramel ice cream is to die for super good. It is very overpriced though (a bit more than regular "expensive" dessert) one dessert per person will be around $11-15. They served the dessert pretty fast - it took around 5 -10 minutes to get our dessert. it's open kitchen so you can see them making food There are tables upstairs so you can have. A cute date here

Peep this pre-covid review that's a year overdue for The Dolly Llama. Ice cream is a good dessert. Hong Kong waffles are a good dessert. Ice cream in said waffles are a great dessert, and that's what Dolly Llama provides for you (ice cream can be sold separately amongst other dessert items if you so wish). They have premade combinations on their menu or you can customize your sugar overload concoction as you please. You want nothing but cereal over your ice cream? Sure. You want more fruits on it than ice cream? You can try. Either way, there's a good amount of flexibility for your dessert if your wallet's willing to cry a little. Is it the best I've ever had? No, but it certainly does the job. Since a pandemic is still happening, best order and go even if the seated areas are all cute and ig worthy. I don't know, I haven't seen light of day since covid-19 hit.

This is a late overall review of my experience. Came here a couple times for my sweet tooth cravings. First, they open late which is a huge plus! Last time my boyfriend and I went, I was craving their bubble waffles at like 11:30PM. They close at 12AM. We live close by so it didn't take that long to get there. They were cleaning up and mopping the floors so we felt bad but they were still able to take our order. After we left, it got really busy in there. I've tried the Dolly's Dream and a customized Bubble Waffle with Vanilla Ice Cream, Bananas and Oreo toppings. I took off a star because I'm not a huge fan of their ice creams. Even their regular vanilla ice cream was not good. Their bubble waffle is the best! Fun to eat and it's so soft on the inside.

I was really excited to order the bubble waffle. I ordered the vegan strawberry ice cream in a bubble waffle cone with fruity pebbles on top. It was good, but not great. I don't understand why it is $3 extra for the vegan ice cream when it's not even that good. It is a lot more icy than creamy. There's way better vegan ice cream at other places in LA (for the same price or even less!). Although I was excited for the bubble waffle, it came out a lot more dense than I expected. I've had bubble waffles before and they are more airy and easier to eat. This bubble waffle was too heavy. Four stars because I think the flavors don't match the price.

Just very disappointed overall. If you love a crisp cone experience the bubble one may not be it, quite doughy and felt undercooked in a way. I guess I can't say much for the ice cream since its not made in-house, but didn't really wow me. What's the real draw? Aesthetics I guess.

Really disappointed about this place. I pass it every day to work and back home and it always looked interesting and the decor on the window exterior is so inviting and artistic I had to try it. I went here with a girlfriend at night for a tasty after-dinner treat. Got the waffle special but with smaller waffles because they ran out of the regular sizes. Not sure if it would've made a difference but the taste didn't match the presentation or the hype. I was expecting the best tasting waffle and ice cream experience as this is a well-known brand but was just disappointed and didn't even eat the whole thing.

It's super cute in here and the icecream esp the coffee one was really good to me. They let you sample the ice creams first so you can know which one you want to choose to build your own waffle. Personally I felt the waffles were very heavy so I couldn't eat it all. They were really good though but gets soggy really quick since the icecream is melting. I choose to get coffee icecream with nutella, strawberries, kinder bar, and frosted animal cookies. Really liked my choices! I saw they have some type of happy hour where they have icecream scoops for 2 dollars each I think(?) Next time I come I might just get an extra scoop of icecream and share the waffle with my bf because we both couldn't finish it since it was so heavy and big haha

This Dolly will put you beyond a meditative state and after the first bite or lick you'll definitely be saying "YuuuOhmmm!" And then some! With your index finger pressing your thumb those tastebuds of yours will be in a heavenly bliss. Bubble waffles or the OG liege filled with ice cream and toppings of your choice, you can't go wrong. I had the tasty pleasure of having Dollys dream which came with cookie monster ice topped with brownie chunks and drizzled with Nutella sauce. This definitely put me in a trance and wanting more. They also have shakes and I couldn't pass up the coffee snob. It's a definite eye opener with all the razzle dazzle of toppings and sweets in the drink. Besides all the items I just mentioned they also have ice cream by the scoop and and mini frozen sandwiches for your guilty pleasure that's worth every bite. Build your own or get the highly recommended, in the end you'll end up with deliciousness in yo mouth! Street parking available around the neighborhood and the service is on their tasty game. And that's my take on this scrumptious adventure, Peace...
