The Best Restaurants to Try Between Los Angeles and Palm Springs | Eater LA

"For a road trip pick me up, head to the original location of the Donut Man in Glendora. The unassuming roadside shop fries up some of the best doughnuts in Los Angeles, including the famous strawberry-stuffed glazed doughnut. Pick up a dozen and assemble the multiple lineup of doughnuts, including a classic glazed Bavarian creme, devil’s food cake, and maple bar. These doughnuts hold up pretty well overnight, so don’t be afraid to order a little extra and enjoy it for breakfast in the morning." - Mona Holmes

The 18 Best Restaurants At Grand Central Market - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"From out-reaches-of-the-SGV Glendora comes The Donut Man, a legendary donut shop that’s been around since the ’70s. Their stall at GCM, located at the front left corner (when you enter from Broadway), is basically a giant display case of fresh donuts. Whatever you decide to order, make sure to throw in a strawberry-stuffed one. It's the donut that made the place famous, filled with huge, bright strawberries in a sticky red glaze. If for some reason they ran out for the day, console yourself with a tiger tail instead. " - Brant Cox, Nikko Duren

The Donut Man - Review - Downtown LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"From Glendora, CA comes The Donut Man, a legendary dessert shop that’s been around since the ’70s. Now, they have a stall at Grand Central Market, located at the front left corner (when you enter from S. Broadway), where you’ll find a giant case of freshly made donuts. It’s sort of like revisiting Madonna’s discography - confusing if you don’t know where to start - but whatever you decide to order, make sure to throw in a few strawberry-stuffed ones. They’re the donuts that made the man famous, topped with huge, bright-red fruits and drizzled in a sticky glaze. Don’t blame us if they ruin every other donut in existence. I think I made the right choice by buying the fresh strawberry donut for $7. There are a ton of options but this was their most popular I’d say because they pioneered it nonetheless. I mean the donut itself was pretty standard for LA (note that LA has a lot of homegrown donut shops, like A LOT!) but what stood out in this one is the strawberry jam that coats the strawberry, it is not very sweet and not very tangy as well, it is the right balance. And the texture of the jam is perfect too, not very sticky but not loose as well. It’s weird it’s like they perfected that part of the fresh donut. It basically is pretty amazing! So I’d say it’s worth the hype.

Google
The Mog Champ sends his regards. Decided to try this popular donut shop for breakfast today. Definitely not disappointed as the donuts were delicious! The strawberry donut were one of their most popular ones and I thought it would be too overwhelming however it felt fine as it wasn't as sweet as I'd expected. They balanced it nicely! I also ordered their normal round glazed which is also high quality, better than what you can get at Krispy Kreme in my opinion. Service was quick and friendly! Thanks for the donuts! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ

Google
I'm not a donut person, but these are the best donuts we had ! The dough is light and crispy. The filling was abundant and so so good - we had the raspberry jam and the cream cheese and lemon jelly. Even if it's so much stuffing, the whole donut is good and not excessive. There is quite a line waiting, but they are quick to serve. Prices are unusually more than fair, I would venture to say cheap.

Google
More than enough options for everyone to find something that they like. Many options. Fair pricing for what you get. Easy to order process. Tried the apple fritter-loved it. Filled just right. The PB&J was cool too but the pink icing I’m not a fan of. It had a pb&j taste though. It was ok. The coconut donut was ok. I got my sweet fix. I wouldn’t rush back but I’d recommend and see why people like this place.

Monét Thibou

Google
I came here for a quick donut for breakfast. They have A LOT of options here and honestly these are the kind of donuts that could put Krispy Kreme OUT of business. I got a traditional glazed donut, a devils food cake with sprinkles and a small maple glazed donut (not pictured). These donuts are soft, decadent and absolutely delicious. I paid $6 for 3 donuts. Tik Tok raves about the strawberry donuts so must try those out. This place was great, quick and easy. I highly recommend it.

Google
We were on a sugar mission, and Donut Man at Central Market answered the call like a sugary superhero. Craving sweets? More like desperately needing a donut intervention. One bite of that legendary strawberry donut, and suddenly we were in a rom-com montage of pure joy. My wife said, “This is life-changing,” and I’m not convinced she wasn’t talking about the donut. 10/10, would risk a sugar coma again. Donut Man, you complete us.

Andy Price

Google
We ordered 3 donuts and a coffee. The coffee was good and fairly cheap for LA. We got a maple French curler it was about the same as a regular donut shop. The sprinkle cake donut was ok. The last was the $7 strawberry filled. The strawberries were really good, they were naturally a little less sweet and a slight tart but they had a tasty sugar glaze on them that made them very sweet and refreshing. The donut was a title soggy and we didn’t really eat it after we ate the berries. Nice people and quick service. No need to make a special trip here but if you are at the market and want a donut or desert this place will work,

Liz Donut

Google
My group tried the strawberry donut because my group said that it's what they are known for. For me, it was ok. One of my group member and I took the time to wipe off most of the jam since we felt it was excessive. Other than that, they thought it was decent.

Yelp
It's in the Grand Central market. Not a lot of places open before 8a in this part of DTLA (coffee and bagel was open across the street) but I wanted something sweet! I love their peach and strawberry donuts when in season when I pass through the Glendora area but usually that's few and far between. It's great that they spread out their treats to a wider audience in downtown. I just got a coffee and a raised log. There was already a short line right at the 8a opening. Lots of donuts and coffee ready to go so we got our fill! They had strawberry and peach filled too but it was a little too much. Next time!

Yelp
I read through so many reviews to try to decide whether to get the strawberry donut, but it felt like ppl were pretty divided about it: either it tasted amazing & was clearly fresh or it was a soggy mess that barely had any doughnut and was more for looks than taste. In the end, I decided I'd just see for myself, and given that I got there pretty soon after they opened, I had the best chance of trying the strawberry donut at peak freshness/the way it was meant to be experienced. I got a coffee too cuz I like bitter to go w/ my sweet, and some reviews said the coffee's pretty good. The strawberry donut ended up being pretty good and not too sweet or soggy (I'm sure the short time from preparation to consumption was key)! The doughnut part held up well too. The coffee was a great price (2.50 for a Medium; could also get a small for 2.25 or large for 2.75) and paired well w/ the strawberry donut; 'twas exactly my preference at being more bitter (I prefer that over acidic) but not that bitter overall either. By itself though (since I finished the donut faster than the coffee), the coffee was a'ight.

Yelp
The Donut Man's original location is off Route 66 in Glendora, about an hour east of Los Angeles. They were viral for their strawberry donuts in the 2000's, in an era before things went viral. Though I've been to the Glendora location several times, I'm glad that they have this higher profile location at Grand Central Market! Their famous strawberry donut is not anything fancy: they take a glazed donut, they cut it open, and they stuff it with glazed, fresh strawberries as if the donut was a Thanksgiving Turkey. It's simple and it's delicious. Is it worth $7? When it's strawberry season and I'm craving it, then it absolutely is. The Donut Man's other top seller is their tiger tail which is a glazed twist with some cinnamony goodness. It's over a foot long and it's delicious when it's fresh. The donuts aren't fancy and they're pretty straightforward, but they're good. If they didn't have the strawberry doughnut, then my rating would be different. That said - come here for that.

Yelp
Wellllll the plan wasn't to get a donut but I couldn't resist after seeing the beautiful display. Had to try what they're famous for so I got the strawberry stuffed "donut". When I opened the box, I was surprised to see an additional glazed donut in there too! A two-fer! Sweet!! Speaking of sweet- the strawberries are super sweet & glazed or dipped in what tastes like liquid sugar. The donut itself is definitely a treat and tasted like a very soft funnel cake sans the grease & powdered sugar. Next time I'm in the hood I'll try their other donuts!
google avatar

Max S.

Yelp
Not certain the fresh strawberry donut was worth $7 or not, and they didn't have a single powdered donut. So get ready to get in line because there was a constant line the entire time I was here. As you're moving through the line, you get to see the baker making donuts, then the decorator decorating donuts, and the racks of donuts before you get to the counter where you order and pay. Not much ambiance. It's a donut assembly line. I got a glimpse of the menu and prices on the wall that is posted behind the counter, so I knew the price of a single donut starts at $2.25 each. I ordered a freshly baked strawberry donut and small coffee. Free refills for the coffee, by the way. There's milk at the counter. Service at the counter was friendly. I requested a different donut than the one staff grabbed. He told me, "There's no difference," but if that were the case, then don't mention it and give me the other donut, which he did. The difference was that the donut he grabbed looked like it had less strawberries, and it looked ugly. I found a table and enjoyed the experience of eating my donut and drinking my coffee. It's a split glazed donut stuffed with strawberries and strawberry flavored glaze. The strawberries taste super fresh and the donut as well. The donut was moist, not dry at all.

Yelp
The Donut Man is the place to grab a tasty donut at LA's Grand Central Market. This donut shop is located right near the entrance so it's never hard to find. What you will find here is some great, very fresh donuts. I believe one of the great things about this shop is that you can actually watch them making your donuts while you're standing in line. Meaning, everything you're gonna buy here is super fresh and very well prepared. There's a few things to keep in mind about this place, however. Probably the main thing is that it is a very-very popular location. From this, there is commonly a very long line to get donuts here. The last time I picked up donuts, it took me about 20 minutes to get to the front of the line. The biggest issue that causes this wait is the fact that a lot of people get up to the front and they don't really know what they want. Thus, there can be a hangup. This is not criticizing the donuts at his shop at all, this is just a little FYI to keep in mind if you're in a hurry. During off-hours, the lines tend to be fairly short. And, every now and then, there is no line at all. So, this is something to keep an eye out for when you arrive at Grand Central Market. The donuts here are very reasonably priced. Not cheap. But, reasonably priced. Another thing to think about is that a lot of their donuts are on the small side. This is compared to what you may find at other donut shops around the L.A, area. So, you're probably gonna have to buy two donuts to equal the size and volume of most other donuts that you're gonna eat. Again, just a little FYI. The Donut Man serves some drinks, such as coffee, some ice brew, and a few other things. They do have an espresso machine up at the front, but I have never seen them use it. Due to the line behind me, I've never asked them to make me a latte or anything like that. So, I don't know if they'll actually do it or not? Again, just something to keep in mind. If you tea want to you may want to ask them if they'll get that espresso machine going. Or, you can just grab one of their cups of coffee, or something like that. Overall, this is a fun place to grab a donut for an afternoon snack. Or, perhaps to take on the go on your way home. The staff here are always super nice, and they're happy to help you pick and choose your donuts. But please, the quicker you can get through the line, the better it is for everybody behind you. Overall, great place to grab a donut.

Yelp
Great choice of donuts at a reasonable price. I tried a small donut with sprinkles and it was delicious.

Yelp
I'm not a fan of doughnuts. However, the Doughnut Man, could change that. Every time I go to the central market it is a must have. I came here for lunch. This was my starter. If you're visiting Grand Central Market and have even the slightest sweet tooth, The Donut Man is a must-visit. Known for their legendary stuffed donuts, this spot brings an old-school donut shop vibe to the heart of Downtown LA. Every time I go there I'm always impressed by the size of the donuts and creativity. For those that follow me you won't be surprised. I only get the original glazed or sugar coated donuts. I still feel I'm not missing out on one of their overstuffed fruit ones. Even their classic glazed and chocolate bars are a cut above--fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of chew and a crisp, sugary finish. You can taste the difference in freshness compared to your average chain. Prices are a bit higher than your corner donut shop, but totally worth it for the quality and size. It's a perfect indulgence or treat to share. Pro tip: Go earlier in the day for the freshest selection. And if the seasonal fruit-stuffed donuts are available--don't hesitate. Just get one if you're not me. I have been there in the late evening. I was given two for the price of one.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally get a "good" donut! It had been months...While my soul sister Renee was visiting, we headed downtown for some site seeing and came across this donut shop. We waited on a long line but it moved quickly. We chatted with a few of the return customers and had time to decide which type of donuts we wanted when we got to the counter. Both of us picked the long twisted glaze & chocolate donut and the chocolate frosted donut. The person helping us boxed them up and we were off to our next stop. By the time we got home and actually ate one of the donuts, we were both disappointed. They were not fresh and a little dry:( Safe to say, this girl still hasn't had her donut fix! I am not sure I would go back here even if though they are known for their amazing seasonal fresh "strawberry" & "peach" donuts. *Located inside of "Grand Central Market Place" DTLA

Yelp
Came here during a visit to LA. Tried their fresh strawberry donut and tiger tail, which was so enormous it had to be bent into a 90 degree angle to fit inside the box. The strawberry donut was a bit overly sweet, as the syrup was quite overpowering on the strawberry, to the point that the donut itself was soggy. The tiger tail was excellent though - crispy at the ends and soft in the middle. The service was fast and friendly. I was lucky there was just a short line when I arrived. They are at the corner of the Grand Central Market, so they are relatively easy to access.

Anastazya W.

Yelp
First, I am not a crazy donut fan. However, I LOVE their Fresh Strawberry Donuts. But their peach version, when in season, is my favorite! Why? They have the perfect level of sweetness. Not the overly-sweet mess. Perfect with a cup of unsweetened black coffee or tea. I've read that people found the donuts soggy, but I've never experienced this. (Yes, on the rare occasions I'm downtown, I drive by, and if I can get a parking spot, I stop for their donuts.) I have even experimented storing them overnight. Not soggy. Simply a delectable breakfast treat. And they are treats. My other favorites: their Tiger's Tail, which also keeps well, and their lemon-filled. That said, from all the different donuts my family and friends have tried so far, I'd say you can't go wrong with any choice. (Always good to share when you find something worth sharing.)
google avatar

Yelp
Donut Man is LA institution! best known for its fresh fruit-stuffed donuts. The strawberry donut is bursting with fresh, juicy strawberries, delicious and messy. The tiger tail, glazed and fluffy, is also a must try. There is usually a line but it moves fast. Best to go with friends to buy as many pieces to try and share.

Yelp
Donuts are important. Donuts are special. Donuts are sensual. Donuts are magical. Donuts are me. Located in the very front of the Grand Central Market, The Donut Man is a mouth watering, soul capturing, bakery with a large selection of fresh donuts. After eating a pizza for lunch, my wife and I were on the hunt for a sweet treat when The Donut Man came calling. This place was pretty busy around noon and for good reason, we spent maybe 5 minutes in line before packing our order and I would wait 50 if I had too. I ended up ordering what they call a Tiger's Tail (this might be the actual name, I simply don't know) and this thing is the longest donut I have ever seen. It's basically a super big glaze crawler with chocolate in it. Oh, how was it you ask? It was bloody incredible. This thing was so doughy and lite, and it tasted so dang good. I would absolutely come back and try every other donut they have, and I probably will. Overall, The Donut Man has it on lock at the Grand Central Market. This place has a friendly staff, a great location, and some A+ rated donuts in the city of angels. Do yourself a favour and come indulge.

Yelp
Came to Grand Central Market on Monday for lunch and got this for dessert. Got the tiger tail and the fresh strawberry donut. Tiger tail was enormous and not as sweet as I thought it would be which is a plus. Very flaky and delicious. Fresh strawberry wasn't as good as I had hoped, strawberries tastes good and looked beautiful but the pastry was soggy. Ambiance was very crowded despite being a Monday, found a seat in the market.
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of the original location in Glendora, primarily because of their iconic fresh strawberry donuts. Unfortunately, they are not in season until mid-February, when they will start making them again. So, I was a month too early. The other decadent donuts at this Grand Central Market location looked amazing, but I did not feel like indulging in anything too rich or sweet after a heavy lunch. Therefore, I opted for the lemon-filled donuts. Nothing else was calling me. I like my lemon-filled donuts topped with a lot of powdered sugar, but that is not how they are prepared here. Their donuts are huge as everyone knows, but I was stunned that each cost $7.50. I remember feeling the strawberry donuts were pricey at $4.50 each just a few years back when I ordered them at the Glendora location. But I still thought they were worth it. I did not feel the same way about these. I do not know if we can blame inflation or the cost of paying rent to have a location in the Grand Central Market, but a nearly $8 donut is ridiculous! Service was lukewarm and I felt a little rushed. I was one of only two people in line at the time. Next time, I will not splurge on donuts, it will only be for the fresh strawberry or peach donut for me, and not likely at this location again.
google avatar

Allison C.

Yelp
Long time fan of Donut Man but first time ever at the DTLA location. Definitely a very different vibe from the Glendora location but great to have closer to LA. The line was a little long but moved very quickly. The donuts are a little pricey but oh so worth it - some of the freshest and most generously filled donuts around. I got a lemon filled crueler ($4.50) and apple filled donut ($3.25) and both were absolutely fantastic. You really can't do much better than Donut Man. No fresh strawberry or peach donuts during this time of year but highly recommend them when they roll around... The only reason I have to knock off a star for, is my mother got a Bavarian cream filled donut and instead of putting it in a box like they did for mine, hers was put into a little bag. When she went to eat it, all of the chocolate icing was stuck to the bag and the little paper they grabbed the donut with - we had to scrape all the chocolate off and put it back on the donut, which made it very messy. Definitely should not have been packaged like that and should have been put in a box - but at least we were able to salvage it and it of course tasted fantastic with a generous custard filling.
google avatar

Sophia M.

Yelp
BEST Lemon donut I've ever had. Grand central Market in Los Angeles. Super crowded and loud and we got it on our way out. It was $5.50 for 2 donuts but definitely super yummy.
google avatar

Oscar L.

Yelp
The fresh strawberry doughnut was fantastic. There's a lot of strawberries which makes it a very big bite. However, it is kind of expensive at $7 per strawberry doughnut. Get ready to wait in line because this place is very popular. Service is very quick. They just grab the doughnut(s) that you want. It's located inside at the edge of Grand Central market and easy to find.
google avatar

Diane C.

Yelp
All I can say is, this place thus lives up to the hype! I never really had too much expectation. I was expecting a regular tasting donut, just like the others. But oh boy! Their donuts are fresh, light and fluffy in the inside. Not overly sweet which I liked a lot. We got the tiger's tail, blueberry cream cheese and cinnamon roll. There was quite a line, but I didn't mind as the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. It's located inside the DTLA Grand Central Market, by the entrance along Broadway. Very easy to spot. A must try whenever you're in DTLA.
google avatar

Joseph C.

Yelp
Good donuts, including one of their specialities- strawberry donuts. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the price. It's not cheap. Definitely worth trying at least once though.
google avatar

Dezmond B.

Yelp
The Donut Man is a consistent stop every time you visit Grand Central Market especially if you are a sweet pastry lover. The donuts and pastries are mega sized with miniature prices. If not careful you can get carried away because the prices are so low you'll get more than you can eat. I usually get the cinnamon roll but this time I got the apple fritter. I'm 6'3 with extra large hands so you can see in the picture how big the pastry is. They are known for the fruit stuffed donuts like strawberry and pineapples. If you haven't visited yet please stop by, your taste buds will thank you!
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Delicious donuts in Grand Central Market! Some of the donuts in the window are huge and looked very tasty. We tried the strawberry donut (their famous one) and it was very fresh tasting!
google avatar

Amanda I.

Yelp
These donuts are huge and filled with a lot of goodness they have two seasonal donuts, one that is full of peaches and the other ones full of strawberries. Both of them look amazing. We didn't try them, but they are huge. We had the Boston cream and lemon filled and was just mouthwatering full of sweetness.
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
We were just across the street so same great donuts as the original location. Good strawberry donut and the tiger tell us a great value
google avatar

Grace G.

Yelp
When you pass by The Donut Man case you can't help but be tempted to get some donuts and with a line you know it's good. The hard part was picking which ones. I loved the red velvet and the lemon jelly donut, the tiger tail was good too.
google avatar

Justin J.

Yelp
Went here the other day as I'd been wanting to try these donuts for some time. Of course, the Glendora location is the original, and that is the ultimate goal, but this one is about three miles from where I live, so it had to do. Tried a variety of the donuts, with the strawberry stuffed being the main goal. Now, maybe I hyped myself up to much but it definitely didn't live up to the hype. The strawberries themselves were good, ripe and had their inherent sweetness. The donut itself was good for a glazed donut. The part that failed for me was the glaze, it just tasted so generic, as it didn't have any real strawberry flavor or taste to it. It just felt like a red glaze over the strawberries. The lemon donut wasn't bad but I felt the lemon flavor could have been more potent or acidic like a real lemon. The apple donut was probably the best out of the three fruit donuts, in my opinion, as it just had a nice apple flavor throughout. The chocolate donut with creme filling was just that and didn't necessarily stand out in one way or another Overall, it just didn't live up to my expectations, particularly for the strawberry filled donut, as that is what we know the Donut Man for, but I'll have to try the Glendora location and, hopefully, those expectations are fulfilled
google avatar

Johnny C.

Yelp
I somehow found myself all the way out here and it did not disappoint! I did not get the strawberry donut.... I know that I am stupid, but I really wanted donuts and they were overstuffed sitting sweet red syrup which honestly looked unappetizing to me. I got the tiger tail, boston cream, strawberry cheesecake, regular, chocolate glazed, apple fritter, and raspberry filled. The apple fritter and strawberry cheesecake were by the far my favorite. The apple fritter was literally the size of my head! The texture of all the donuts were pillowy with good chew. My least favorite was the tiger tail which just had no flavor to me and I love sweets so was a let down. If you find yourself all the way out there, just stop and get 1 donut they won't disappoint!

Jack4 Y.

Yelp
Everything looks good and with trying, but I tried the tiger tail. It must have been a foot long. Their coffee was not too bad also.

Yelp
Always my go to for donuts when I'm in Los Angeles at Grand Central market I love the variety they have the staff is polite. They are very fast working through the large line that they usually have great inventory all the time.

Yelp
Right at the entrance of the Grand Market in downtown LA. They have an Assortment of donuts; such a feast for the eyes. I had to get their signature strawberry filled donut. It's $7 each which is a good price for it. The donut is soft, sweet and so good! The strawberry's were the perfect firmness. It reminded me of a funnel cake but better! I recommend the old fashioned one as well. It was so good! One of the best I've had. The chocolate bar was ok. Service was rather quick. I got there in time because there was a line forming after me.
google avatar

Brandon S.

Yelp
I got their famous strawberry donut for $7. The donut was very good. The softness of the donut conbined with the crunch and glaze of the strawberry made it taste better than I was expecting. The donut + strawberry was a little bit too sweet for my tastes but I still finished it. Overall, good donut with strawberries. More expensive than I was expecting though. Still worth trying at least once.
google avatar

Tori H.

Yelp
The best sprinkle donut I ever had 10/10. The donuts were fresh, and it was a large variety. A bit on the pricier side but it was work it. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Of the many stalls in Grand Central Market, The Donut Man is one of the few to actually have a decently long line (however, it moves super fast--don't let that stop you!). Even on a Saturday afternoon it was a pretty short wait with at least a dozen people in front of us. We got the Strawberry Donut and it definitely lives up to the hype. I usually regret eating with my eyes, but this is the rare dessert that tasted even better than it looked. It'd be easy for this donut to be overly sweet, but the combination of the dough, whole strawberries in glaze, and glaze on the donut itself was super well balanced. None of the components were overly sweet. This made for an almost refreshing dessert which is commendable because it's not probably how one would usually describe a donut. (It even got the highest form of complement from two picky Asian parents, who agreed it was "not too sweet!") Many trendy, Instagrammable donut shops would make this with too little filling and too much donut dough. The opposite was true here, where there was actually a ton of whole strawberries in the donut, making this feel much more worth the cost (in fact as far as things go in Grand Central Market in DTLA, the price was actually quite reasonable). The strawberries were also delicious, juicy, and pretty sweet on their own. Overall, despite how decadent it looks, I could've probably finished a whole Strawberry Donut on my own because it was that good. Can be difficult to share, but definitely share-able...warning: you might not want to though. Will definitely have to try the Peach Donut once it's in season again next year.

Yelp
What more can you say about The Donut Man that hasn't already been said. Established and well known by the community, the line speaks for itself. First time at their grand central market location, I ordered the famous Strawberry filled, old fashioned classic glaze, cinnamon donut, and chocolate Bavarian cream. All delicious and would always accept with open hands. Recommended if you're in search for a reliably delicious donut.

Yelp
I learned about the Donut Man due their famous fruit-filled donuts, and I decided to finally give them a try. This branch is located in Grand Central Market, and based on the long line it is a popular weekend destination (with various line participants taking photos of the huge donut supply). While the Donut Man is known for a strawberry donut, it's only offered seasonally and was not available during my winter visit. However, they had other fruit (or at least fruit-adjacent) options including donuts stuff with apple and a lemon filling. I tried a simple chocolate frosted raised donut, which had a great texture though I thought the frosting emphasized sweetness rather than a deep chocolatey flavor. However, it was a great afternoon snack, and I look forward to trying other donut varieties in the future!

Yelp
On our recent trip to Los Angeles, we spent much time downtown and went to the Grand Central Market several times. One of the places in the market which we went to was the Donut Man for breakfast. Overall, we ound the doughnuts to be very, very good, but not outstanding. The dough was a little too dense and chewy, lacking a nice fried crisp exterior and a good fried flavour. Glazes were very good. We'd go here again definitely, but it is not the best based on our experience, and the fundamental issue of the basic doughnuts themselves is a slight mark against them. However,we only tried raised doughnuts and did not try other styles of doughnut yet, so we cannot speak to those. We got tiger tails, raised chocolate, raised glazed. The tiger tails - twisted glazed raised dough with cinnamon. They were excellent overall. 4.5. The raised glazed and chocolate were very good but suffered from the issues noted above. Service seemed fine. The market is a wonderful place to explore and hang out, so although this is just a stand with no seating of its own, it has a great area to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Yelp
Peach is in season. Peach Donut is back! Sweet and Juicy. There's always a lube and for good reason. Always fresh from the oven. They have other donuts and all are tasty. But they are known for the seasonal fruit donuts, strawberry and peach. The Donut Man does not disappoint.

Yelp
Ordered a tiger tail, a cream filled chocolate doughnut, and some coffee to go. The donuts were delightful. The tiger tail is what I came for and I am glad that I ordered it but the reality is that I could've ordered Just the one as it was definitely shareable. I imagine the donuts taste better when fresh and warm, but the cold ones did not disappoint. The coffee on the other hand did disappoint and something that I would advise you seek elsewhere, unless you're already here and pressed for time.

Yelp
We lucked out and found a spot right outside as someone was leaving; otherwise, you'd have to drive around to find street parking. It was mentioned to us by a friend that there was a paring structure nearby, but we didn't see it. Upon parking, we walked towards the entrance to the food market and I had never seen anything like it before. It was beautifully crafted on the outside and had a delicious food market inside. This inside restaurant market had such an incredible dining experience that I am still reeling from it. I was blown away by the sights, smells, and sounds of this culinary wonderland the moment I stepped inside. Beautifully designed, the market combines the intimacy of a restaurant with the excitement of a bustling marketplace. After grabbing food at Eggslut (https://www.yelp.com/biz/eggslut-los-angeles-7?hrid=NE9AK571nRfkBgYd2bVJEQ&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)) I, of course, wanted to try something sweet. It was my favorite thing about this place because you could watch them make the donuts so you could see how freshly baked they were. Watching them got so engrossing that I forgot to order. Naturally, I got the three stable rings in glaze, chocolate, and maple. Let's start with the glaze ring: a symphony of flavors and textures that will make you weak at the knees. There is nothing better than the glaze. There is a subtle tanginess to balance out the richness of the donut, and it is sweet, but not too sweet. And the ring shape? Genius. The pastry shell is like a little package of joy. Soft and fluffy, with a tender crumb that melts in your mouth. Is the flavor good? This donut shines when it comes to flavor. With just a hint of sweetness, it combines vanilla and honey subtly. There's a delicate crunch to the exterior of the donut and a soft and fluffy interior. If clouds were made of sugar and happiness, biting into it would be like biting into a cloud. Next is the decadent chocolate ring, which is rich, decadent, and utterly irresistible. Perfect drizzles of chocolate glaze create a sticky, sweet, crunchy exterior that just begs to be devoured. Taking a bite is when the magic happens. The ring-shaped donut has a subtle cake flavor that's perfectly balanced by the sweetness of the chocolate glaze. How about the chocolate itself? It's delicious. The flavor is rich, dark, and velvety, with a hint of bitterness to keep it interesting. However, it is the texture of this donut that makes it stand out. An airy, soft interior is contrasted by the crisp, crunchy chocolate glaze. What's even better? In terms of size, it is just right - not too big or too small - making it the perfect snack or dessert. Finally, the maple donut was my favorite. My taste buds are still reeling from the explosion of flavors and textures in this sweet treat. I was delighted to discover a soft, fluffy interior, which contrasted with crispy, golden-brown edges, as soon as I bit into the donut. However, it was the maple glaze that stole the show. I love that maple glaze! The flavor is so complex and layered, like a symphony of sweet and savory notes. There's no denying that the donuts are impossible to resist thanks to the sticky, syrupy glaze. But the sweet sensation is not overpowering or cloying - instead, it is perfectly balanced to reveal the donut's natural sweetness. Ingredient quality sets this donut apart. With this donut, you'll find that it's both decadent and refined, perfect for satisfying even the most discerning sweet tooth. Make sure to stop by on your way out or in!!

Yelp
Skip all of the other options & just get straight to the Strawberry Stuffed Donut. I saw them make it live in action. The bust open the donut & literally stuff it with a handful of strawberries. I just ate not too long before coming here & I would've felt hurt if I never came & got something. The donut itself was lightly hit with sugar, the right amount. There's absolutely no way you can avoid not having any kind of strawberry in every bite. I dang near had to eat each strawberry halfway in every bite to make it work, I even held it like a taco. I'm so happy I got to try it. Outside of that one, more than plenty to choose from. Cinnamon Rolls, Tiger Tails, PB&J (which is what I actually almost ended up getting due to not having much of an appetite) and much more. There was somewhat of a long line & it moved fast. The lady that took my order was super nice & I picked out a certain donut out of the bunch I wanted & she got it for me.

Yelp
I finally got to try their famous Strawberry Donuts. I was always scared to try them because they are always fly infested and I did not need any more stomach pains. Anyway, we came one day and it looks like they got the flies under control and it was definitely worth the hype!

Yelp
Love the strawberry donuts! We usually stop at the Glendora location on road trips. This is our first time at the Grand Central Market location. Line moved quickly. Stick to the fruit filled donuts. I have tried the tiger tail and the others before but nothing I would return for. I just wish they provided knives for cutting the huge strawberry donut. When I asked for one, I got a dirty stare from one of the employees like it was a ridiculous request.

Yelp
I have a guilty pleasure for donuts, so while walking around, I was intrigued to stumble on this place. The donuts were prepared right around when I arrived, so I got to try the Tiger's Tail fresh, which was delicious (but a bit awkward to eat walking down the street given its shape). This place was certainly good in a bind, and not crazy expensive

Yelp
I got the maple donut (the long one) and honestly it wasn't the best. My friend also got the French Cruller and the Tigers Eye. She also wasn't too impressed. It was dry and the flavor was just underwhelming. The service was quick and the staff was really nice tho. The foodcourt is always packed though. The line wasn't too long but I've def seen it get long quick. The prices are very affordable tho. I don't really think it's worth the wait though in my opinion if the line is long- I rather go to a small donut shop on a corner!

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): I've been a huge fan of Donut Man because I have family in Glendora (their original location) and was so happy they opened up at Grand Central Market in Downtown LA! Their donuts have a classic donut shop taste and their maple and chocolate icing have the perfect amount of sweetness. Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: reasonable * Wait Time: ~5 min on a Saturday afternoon * Service: good * Parking: metered street parking can be difficult so the parking garage is somewhat worth it at 90 min for $5 * Ambiance: it's at the busy and bustling food hall!

Yelp
good donuts & lots to choose from. They're located in the grand central market in downtown LA. Came by on a weekday and it wasn't busy. Outside seating available, restrooms are located downstairs & parking is located in the parking garage ($5 for 90 minutes) I'd definitely come back here if I'm in the area and craving something sweet to start my morning.

Yelp
Few things are good enough to wait and The Donut Man (original location in Glendale) is a good one. Location: In Grand Central Market in a stall along the wall located on the Olive Street side. Across from Eggslut. Food: I got the Strawberry Donut(seasonal) and the Tiger Tail. The famous Strawberry donut is a messy piece of work, but not bad if you want to indulge. Fresh strawberries in a glaze packed into a split glazed donut and don't forget the fork. Get a knife if you plan to share. Still good though. The Tiger Tail was a lot bigger than I had anticipated but freshly made that morning and doughy. And a hefty size to boot. Summary: I have no complaints for this location. Service was helpful and polite. The donuts were fresh and soft. Good location for it Made me love donuts even more now before. Not cheap, but worth it if you don't plan on leaving DTLA on your visit to CA. Happy eating!!

Yelp
Established in 1972 in Glendora. This is their 2nd location which opened in 2020. They are best known for incorporating fresh fruit into the donuts with the ever popular Strawberry Donut. I highly recommend you come and try the Strawberry Donut. It's pretty big so you can share it with another person. All their donuts are very delicious.

Yelp
These donuts were the best donuts I had in Cali! I wish I got a dozen! So delicious and fluffy! They had a huge variety so was very hard to pick one but was so flavorful. The service was great! They didn't have a GF option for my sister but they recommended another place not too far away which was extremely kind of them.
