"For a road trip pick me up, head to the original location of the Donut Man in Glendora. The unassuming roadside shop fries up some of the best doughnuts in Los Angeles, including the famous strawberry-stuffed glazed doughnut. Pick up a dozen and assemble the multiple lineup of doughnuts, including a classic glazed Bavarian creme, devil’s food cake, and maple bar. These doughnuts hold up pretty well overnight, so don’t be afraid to order a little extra and enjoy it for breakfast in the morning." - Mona Holmes

"The old joke about LA not having seasons ignores the most glorious one of all: strawberry donut season at Donut Man. The bulbous fruit-filled creation at this Glendora shop (with a second location in Grand Central Market) involves a classic glazed split open like a clamshell and stuffed with a whole basket of strawberries in a sugary glaze. It’s the only donut we know of where eating it with a knife and fork is acceptable behavior." - garrett snyder, brant cox, cathy park, sylvio martins, jess basser sanders
"From out-reaches-of-the-SGV Glendora comes The Donut Man, a legendary donut shop that’s been around since the ’70s. Their stall at GCM, located at the front left corner (when you enter from Broadway), is basically a giant display case of fresh donuts. Whatever you decide to order, make sure to throw in a strawberry-stuffed one. It's the donut that made the place famous, filled with huge, bright strawberries in a sticky red glaze. If for some reason they ran out for the day, console yourself with a tiger tail instead." - brant cox, nikko duren, sylvio martins
"Standing at the original walk-up stand in Glendora on a mid-morning Saturday, I joined the small crowd peering through the glass at rows of doughnuts and went straight for the strawberry-stuffed doughnuts: whole berries suspended in a jelly-like filling piled between a glazed doughnut cut in half, creating something that feels at home at a state fair. The strawberries are a bit sweet while the less-sweet doughnut balances them out, so make sure to get a bit of both in each bite — and bring lots of napkins." - Eater Staff
"The market’s seasonal strawberry doughnuts from the Donut Man are a coveted treat and a sweet emblem of the market’s rotating offerings." - Matthew Kang
