Had an incredible night at the Johnnie Walker tasting. Nothing but seriously good whisky and a few rare blends you don’t see outside of collectors’ shelves. Every pour felt like a little discovery—big flavor, smooth edges, and stories in every glass. A standout experience for anyone who lives for the good stuff.

My husband and I have been regulars at this establishment since 2018, and we can't recommend it highly enough. It's like Cheers in Beverly Hills, with a welcoming and casual atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the food is simply amazing. The whiskey selection is expansive, and they even have a list of unique and interesting bottles that you can try by the dram. Recently, they opened a whiskey store that has an impressive selection of rare and unusual whiskeys and spirits. Simeon, who runs the Double Barrel and the store, is the sweetest person and makes everyone feel at home on every visit. Meanwhile, Andrew is hands down the best bartender. His black Manhattan is simply epic!!

Snooty, unwelcoming staff. Overpriced and blah drinks if you go with cocktails. And yes, the snooty staff looked down upon the idea of ordering a cocktail. Perhaps they just had too much time on their hands given that the place was *entirely empty*. Meant for sipping an expensive bourbon as you sit on oversized leather chairs and pretend you're better and more accomplished than everyone else. Think like a university club for an ivy league school...only on the border of WeHo and Beverly Hills. Horrible concept for the location. What a waste of good space. Skip.

This place is way overpriced. Me and a friend got 2 glasses of wine and a bottle of water which came to $48.00. The owner, Deep Sethi had the balls to ask for additional tip for less than mediocre service. The whole was almost empty. The owner made it sound that you had to become a member to keep coming there, what a load of #&*%$ (bakwaas in Hindi).

Why would anyone need to be a member to drink and dine at this place. You can do this anywhere. The owner talks up a big story that doesn't match the unforgivable ambience.

Walked in the other day right after the owner, who tried to slam the door in my face. I said "pardon me?". He turned, saying the place had gone "members only". Being used to the Battery Club and other such venues in the Bay, I inquired about the cost to join. He told me, that the answer was a long one and to check the website. So, I spun around and walked to Avra, where the staff knows me and actually give a toss that I come patronise their establishment every now and again. Not sure who you were, buddy, but if you think you can "outsnob" me, to quote Judas Priest, "you got another thing comin'". Unfortunately, for you, our next encounter will NOT be at your establishment.

We took our family and friends visiting LA here and had the most wonderful experience . The owner is extremely knowledgeable and a true whiskey connoisseur. His suggestions were truly amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we have a memorable night. Everything here from interiors, staff, whiskey and cigar collection and FOOD here is AMAZING!!! I will never forget this wonderful experience and I look forward to visiting more often.

Holy CRAP this place is BAD. I went and there was seriously NO ONE there. The owner was there & he was hella creepy & hovering. It was like he didn't want folks there. He was hovering over both me & the one guy on staff (the bartender was this lovely chap named Tikku I believe) who was awesome & this review note is not about him. I went in after seeing a movie & just wanted a quiet dram of scotch & to write a little bit in my notebook. The owner was so odd & made things terribly uncomfortable. I felt unwelcomed. It was so creepy & odd for what was supposed to be a quiet little drink & I can tell why this place is not getting business when it's like that. I felt judged immediately when the owner got there. He was messing with the lights & things too. I didn't stay long because... oh god I wanted to run. Absolutely don't recommend.

What a cool place! The staff were very attentive and eager to answer questions and teach my date and I about different types of whiskey. Anthony talked to us for a bit about different styles and what we both liked (we didn't really know) so he brought out a flight that had a wide variety of different tastes. He also taught us how to acclimate with the first sip so the rest of the tastes wouldn't be so harsh and you can focus on the flavor. Sam also stopped by a few times to point out his favorites and help us with pronunciation. The place is filled with cozy seats and couches with a fireplace. It felt like a mix between a lodge and an old study. We were just there for drinks but got a side of fries which were great. They came topped with an herb cheese that we weren't expecting and I really enjoyed them. The rest of the menu looked really good and I'd love to try dinner sometime. It was a good first date spot- we both came out feeling like we learned something and the whiskey made great conversation. I'll definitely be back!

Owner is a completely rude ! Not one other party in the outside area , ( inside was actually full of people ) considering they are in LA county and not aloud to have inside dining ! We are members at saddle Peak. He asked us to Leave because he didn't think we were members ! But we are. Complete rude about it , so we Left one would think he might want 4 people there ordering food and drinks being the large outside area was completely empty! Good luck ass hole !!!!!

Incredibly rude staff. Took so long to get waited on we left. People were dining inside (???) yet we were sat outside and not even next to the fire place or multiple heaters they had. Would give 0 stars if that were an option. Pick literally anywhere else in Beverly Hills to go. Wally's down the street is where we ended and i couldn't have been happier!

Let me tell you about this place! I have been here a numerous time and one thing is for sure - it is impossible to find a better place! Best drinks, best atmosphere, best host/owner of this place, if you become a member here you should consider yourself very fortunate, as every member I met here is a real good people! BY FAR BEST BAR IN LA!

Got lame after pandemic. Massive fees to step foot in the door with bottles needing to be purchased etc just to have pleasure of spending even more money. Can't imagine they'll be in business long when their model is designed to drive away revenue ;)

Place was eh? I thought NO ONE being there on a regular night was a little odd....? Food was awful. Owner enjoyed talking about how he denied paying members from entering at times? Spend your money elsewhere.

I struggled when writing this review, because I wanted this place to be great given how much money I spent here. I settled on two stars because, to be honest, there are some great things about the space, but also major drawbacks. Selling point: the selection of whiskey is the best I have ever seen. However, you can get the same selection online and host a private party with the money that you would have spent on "membership" here (which consists of buying a bottle and keeping it in a locker). Hell, you could start your own business with the amount of money they try to get you to spend in this place. Drawback #1: the price. My friend and I between the two of us had only three "flights" of whiskey, with three TINY pours each, plus an order of flat bread. The bill was an eye-popping $180 including a 20% service charge. The bill was grossly excessive; not having an option on the tip would be o.k. if they were waiting on me hand and foot, but they weren't. My reaction to the service charge was: what service are they talking about? It was minimal, and limited to when I wanted to spend more money...go figure. Drawback #2: the prices of the whiskey bottles required for membership. Why do I have to spend $450 on a bottle of whiskey that costs at most $75? I know they have to make money, but why do they have to make so much money off me? Can't they just charge a monthly fee and reduce the costs of the bottles appropriately? Drawback #3: it's great that they invited me to try out the members-only lounge when I was not a member and just meeting a friend there. But the lounge smells like a men's locker room, no joke. Drawback #4: there are some weird plaster friezes in the space, including a very obviously sexual one near the restroom that looked like it belonged in a medieval brothel. This is not somewhere I can invite co-workers or guests. That greatly diminishes the value of the obscene prices being charged here. So, this is basically a men's club that's open to the public, charges outrageous prices, has at best average service, and has no parking. Definitely a two-star establishment despite some of the promising aspects of it.

To the people writing unfavorable reviews of this place, I don't think you're getting the point.this isn't your neighborhood bar. It's a high end establishment that's intended to bring clients, co-workers, meet friends and do whiskey tastings. I have had nothing but positive experinces here. Marco is possibly one of the best bartenders I have ever encountered. He knows how to make a well balance cocktail with fantastic ingredients. Anthony is a great manager-kind, considerate and personable. Jackson and Sam know their whiskeys and are eager to tell you what they like, but also point you in the right direction to try things you may have not considered before. And the owner actually knows how to make a cocktail as he literally made me one 3 nights ago while his staff was on break. Side Note-I recommend trying their truffle vodka dirty martini if you're not wanting to drink whiskey. It's fantastic and super unique. The bottle prices are high. And yes, there is a 20% gratuity added to your bill. But you're in a whiskey bar in Beverly Hills. With 3 fireplaces, leather seats and wood tables. With over 1,000 whiskey selections and frequent tastings for members and friends. You're buying an experience and a place to bring people together. Plus, instead of purchasing a bottle for $50+ at a liquor store, you can try flights to see if you like something or not. You can have a tasting with a group of friends. Everyone I have brought with me there has loved their experience and asks me.to bring them back or purchases their own bottle and becomes a member. Give them a chance. If you're a true whiskey lover, I promise you won't regret it.

This is a total sleeper joint... the best place to bring a date you wish to impress (and don't want your wife to know) The drinks are sublime, staff friendly. It's warm, cozy, quiet. And the food?!?! Good God it was delicious!! It all paired well with the suggested drinks. But even the. It was pretty amazing Seriously try it

One of the best whisky selections I have ever seen. They have an extremely knowledgeable staff to discuss the most intricate details or even to guide the novice drinker. I went there with my girlfriend who doesn't like whisky and after a brief conversation, they found one she absolutely loved. I've been looking forward to going back ever since. I told my parents about my experience and they're planning their visit here.

Not sure what the deal is with this place. Kinda sketchy. Had some friends here from out-of-town who love whiskey so took them here one evening before heading to dinner. By way of a long conceited preamble, the owner(?) eventually got around to telling us that it was "members only" and said one of the requirements is he has to like you. LMFAO. Fuck you. I don't care if you like me or not. Are you open to the public or not? Too many great OTHER places to go to in Beverly Hills than to have to stroke this dude's ego. Upon reflection it struck me more of a place set up to launder money than a place to actually earn money. #SpendElsewhere

I came here on a Friday night with a girlfriend and had one of the best times I have had in Los Angeles. If you love to sit on comfortable leather couches and sip top-shelf whisky by the fire, you will love this place. We came for a drink and ended up staying a few hours. I personally loved the owner, especially that he had my favorite drinks and was all around interesting and cool. Ignore cranky reviews, this is a great place to meet interesting people and have some space to relax with high quality drinks. I will be back.

Expensive, and just short of pretentious. Worth it. Top notch selections, excellent cocktails and unrivaled service with a knowledgable server who can help you explore the widest range of whisky you're likely to find.

Went there last night with my husband, my brother and some friends. Had a really nice time. Deep, the owner, was so attentive and served us some great whiskey. My husband said it was the best whiskey he's had in a long time and that it was very smooth. I liked the decor and ambiance.

Went there with some friends and was immediately interrogated by a rude man asking if we are members. My friend is a member at the sister lounge at Saddlepeak Lodge. The host was not pleasant to the point I thought he knew my friend and was kidding around. My friend said he was a member at the other location and we walked to the back patio. The host had already seated our wives and they already had water on the table for them. Without checking my friend's membership he proceeded to kick us out. He didn't check the membership status at all. Anyway, the other big red flag was the seated guests indoors eating dinner and having drinks. What? Membership includes dis-obeying the LA County mandate? Two red flags. I'd stay away from this place and the very rude host. There are so many other really nice places that have respectful people working. We work too hard to be disrespected by inconsiderate people. Maybe a call the the LA County Dept of Public Health is in order so more people don't get potentially very ill from blatantly ignoring the COVID-19 mandates.

WORST PLACE EVER. I do not recommend ever going here. The food was worst thing ever and the service was even worst. The owner was yelling at his own customers shouting racist things and kicking people out because he didn't like them. Overall I would recommend to never eat there ever.

Positives: Incredible selection of Whiskeys from around the world, plus decent cocktails. Nice Decor. Negatives: Absolutely horrendous service. Our server was inattentive, and rude. While ordering a drink, I mentioned I liked peaty scotches, and before I could finish my sentence he cuts in "well then order one, it's not that difficult". We only saw him once more for the rest of our time there (2 hours), and had to place additional orders through the bus-boy. It wasn't even crowded that night. The prices are outrageous, and they skimp on the whiskey. I've had plenty of whiskey tastings, and they're all pretty consistent with how much they give you. But at DB I barely got 2 sips worth of whiskey in each glass. We got the check and discovered Double Barrel adds a MANDATORY 20% gratuity to the order! We didn't have the option of tipping less than 20%. No wonder the staff are so rude - they have no incentive to act otherwise. Leaving Double Barrel, we couldn't help but feel like we'd been robbed. They may have the biggest whiskey selection, but it's not worth it.

I have been to the Double Barrel many times and have always received incredible service, food, and drinks from Deep, the owner. If you like good whiskey and an incredible atmosphere, this is the place to go! Call ahead to ask about their membership policy.

If you're looking for a relaxing whisky lounge that exudes the ambiance of a upscale hunting lodge. You've found your spot, tucked away in Beverly Hills the lockers inside hold whiskies from all over the globe and a staff all well versed in each. As I was more interested in Japanese/ cask strength scotch pours Jackson was able to walk me through the different variations that were available, and now I'm hooked . All of which you can enjoy with some of their delicious food from the kitchen

Heard about The Double Barrel from a very good friend of mine who was working at their Calabasas location which was my first encounter of this whisky bar of this magnitude. Calabasas is a bit for for me to go for a drink so when I heard about its second location in Beverly Hills, I just had to pay a visit. Owner Deep, is very nice and hospitable, so it only right that his staff is just the same. This whisky bar is different from all others I've been to. It's exclusive in the manner that membership is highly encouraged in order for any whisky enthusiast to truly bask in its glory with walls covered with full cabinets ranging from bourbon to scotches flavor profiles from corn to heavily peated liquid gold. Not sure of what your flavor profile is, that's not a problem, their friendly staff will help you select the perfect dram. If you don't like something, be honest and the staff will do what they can to rectify it. I've been to this location a few times and although my friend from the Calabasas location isn't here, the staff is just as hospitable and easy to talk to. Both the manager Anthony and spirit guide Andrew are knowledgeable with their suggestions as they do take time to get to know guests and their flavor profile. Took my friend here for a Saturday night hangout thinking we were going to have to go elsewhere for food after, but they actually serve some pretty tasty dishes. Dishes simplistic as truffle fries all the way up to well aged steaks. I will not BS you, this place can be pricey, but it's well worth it. You're getting quality abundant bottles of whiskies, hospitality and knowledge tough to match, spacious seating areas that will keep you comfortable and staying for a while. If whisky is not what you fancy, they do offer a variety of wines anywhere from simple reds to fancy Caymus and Opus,

The name says it all. This place packs a punch with a bunch of whiskey. This bar is definitely a must visit in Beverly Hills. I had the Warbringer and whoo was that some great stuff! Service was awesome but also lenient enough for me to have my own space. I was able to try the Steak Rib Eye which had amazing chimichurri sauce. Also the barrel burger is solid.

My dad got me a membership at the Saddle Peak Lounge location this year, in May, and I have since been so impressed by not just the quality of what they offer in terms of spirits, food etc. but with the service as well. I was happy to see that Anthony, who previously was working at the Saddle Peak Lounge in Malibu, is now managing this location because he is so good at what he does. He is very knowledgeable about whiskey (even gave my whole family a history lesson when we first met him) and extremely hospitable. This location is great, such a different space than the Malibu location (less rustic) but equally as lovely. I am looking forward to coming back!

My first time to this newly opened restaurant. Great decor. Leather seating with fireplaces. Great place to take a group of friends or a romantic date. The menu is still a work in progress with regards to the amount of choices but what they do have is really a nice different take on the American food experience. I ordered the Portabella mushroom fries along with the nicely seasoned Brussel sprouts. For my entrée I had the short rib steak. Everything was very good. I even met Chef Draino who came to check on me. The bartender Marco is also a professional. They came up with an assortment of crafty cocktails. No complaints at all and I hope to see them succeed. I will defiantly return with friends.

An amazing find in Los Angeles . The biggest and best collection of Whiskies in LA. The Black Manhattan was incredible. Service was friendly-the place is just beautiful. Glad I become a member- well worth it.

I get my haircut nearby and decide to check this place out. I'm impressed, the drinks and food are great. Price could be an issue for some but you're in Beverly Hills not at home and ambiance worth it. Sam working the bar is great working at the bar. I recommend the Black Manhattan he makes.

The Double Barrel is by far the best whiskey bar in the LA area. Sam and Jackson are the most knowledgeable guys around when it comes to whiskey and scotch. Jackson's knowledge of Japanese single malts and whiskeys is awesome and Sam's knowledge of scotch and whiskeys is off the charts. Sam promised me by the end of the night that I would have my bottle of choice and even though it wasn't a scotch he did get me into a great bourbon. So Sam.....job well done. You also got my buddy into his new scotch of choice. So job well done there as well. I also appreciated that they did not just try and sell you the most expensive stuff but they actually listened to you and did their best to dial you in and by the end of the night you weren't drinking the most expensive stuff but something that you fell in love with. I highly recommend this place. Go in with an open mind and get ready to spend some money as you will be trying a lot different things.

Stopped by based on reviews. Boy was this great. Such an amazing collection of whiskey. 1000+ whiskeys. And Deep the owner was so knowledgeable and friendly. Learnt a lot more about whiskeys. A definite spot to visit if you like whiskey.

Shh. This is the best place in LA! If you want an environment to engage in great conversation with amazing cocktails, the The Double Barrel is the place. The restaurant is set up for sipping great whiskey, talking to good friends and enjoying a wonder evening. The food was delicious especially the tandoori chicken. Had a horrible experience at Double Barrel. First off , I am a member of the Double Barrel at the Saddle Peak Lodge . To become a member you have to purchase a bottle of Wiskey which I did in 2019 and kept it at the bar . Decided to take some friends for an after dinner drink and cigars to the Beverly Hills location and after calling was invited to come. We took two ubers ( wives in one and husbands in the other ). Wives arrived first and owner Deep S showed them to the back tables that were adjacent to a fireplace . The girls sat and received four waters while waiting for us to arrive . Upon arrival we walked in and encountered the owner Deep S who also showed us to the table. I asked where the bathrooms were and he pointed me in the direction . The Restaurant was poorly lit and being almost blind I had a very difficult time negotiating to the restroom . Unfortunately, the Restaurant and specifically the bathrooms were not ADA compliant . As a matter of fact there was no soap or paper towels to wash which I also pointed out for COVID protocol. I noticed there were people sitting in the Resturant eating which is against the state of California's mandate . After I made it back to my table the owner came over and turned off our fireplace and asked us to leave . He claimed we weren't members and admitted I was in 2019 . Didn't explain the rules or ask us to comply which we would have if there was a requirement ( which there is not ). When we questioned the owner he became angry and confrontational calling my Asian friend " white trash " (lol) and later called me on the phone to make an anti Semitic remark . He obviously didn't want us there and could have handled with grace and class . Unfortunately, after many years since I was a child going to Saddle Peak I would never go back and or patronize during this ownership! Too bad given the horrific times .

I give this place two stars because the food was decent but the service (in an entirely empty restaurant aside from my family and me) was atrocious, and the bill came with a 20% service charge included. Discovered this place a few weeks back and was thoroughly impressed. This tavern offers a classy experience with an element of sophistication that whiskey connoisseurs (and non- connoisseurs) can truly appreciate. The menu is extensive featuring different types of whiskeys from around the world. It's not crowded at all, which is rare in Los Angeles for a place of its kind. Hopefully more people discover this place so it will generate enough business to stay open. 5 stars was a no-brainer, can't wait to go back!

For those seeking the short story: best whiskey offering in LA. Longer: My story with The Double Barrel ("TDB") begins two evenings ago when, in a fit of producer-anxiety, I had to find a good after-party place near the Laemmle Music Hall for a film screening the next day (spoiler alert: that area's a food desert, in terms of walkability). I threw a hail-Mary and found my way to TDB. I'm so glad I did. I was introduced to the dark leather establishment by Jackson, a knowledgable and polite gentleman with excellent recommendations. He tolerated my many questions as I worked out, aloud, what size of a group we may expect the following day. Could be 3, could be 8, probably not more than 10. Now The Double Barrel is not a hyper casual bar. You do not stomp in and saddle up to the bartop and ask the barkeep for your favorite ale. This is a place that walks the line of being walk-in friendly and being an exclusive-feeling membership club. This is a place where you reserve a bottle of Lagavulin in advance and bring in a friend you need to catch up with, or a client to talk shop with, beside a fire. But it's also a place where you've found you have a sudden hankering for a new whiskey you've never tried and you want a comfortable place to relax and enjoy yourself without having to make a reservation. It's a funny balancing act. ALSO, side note: their service fee is included in your bill. Back to the story: that evening I sampled the parmesan fries and the prawn entree, washed down with the (surprisingly enjoyable) 'Game of Thrones'-themed Oban -- all great. Jackson and the owner, Deep, graciously and without me able to provide any real advance notice, agreed to set aside an area in the front to accommodate around 8 folks for the next evening. The next day, and without digressing too far from the subject of TDB, the screening went well beyond expectations. And now I was dealing with a flock of 30 folks moseying their way to TDB. Sheer panic. What have I done. My fears were unfounded. Though completely crushed by the unexpected size of the party, Jackson and the sommelier Sam (also gracious, accommodating, smart) took us in and got to work. They were perfect and did the best that could be expected in the circumstances. So my experience with TDB was superior on two fronts. On the one: excellent service and accommodation from the owner and the servers. On the other: the atmosphere, food, and drink were all optimal. I've been to other whiskey-focused bars in Los Angeles, including heavy-hitters in the selection department like 7 Grand... The Double Barrel rivals or surpasses these places in terms of selection and the overall tasting experience. A great experience with great folks. I look forward to my return!

Came on a Monday and it was very quiet and an intimate setting. Gorgeous environment, perfect combination of upscale and relaxed. Can't wait to come back. We chose a flight of rare Indian whiskeys for fun and novelty and highly recommend.
