From the moment my friends and I stepped into The Drake Kitchen and Bar for our Saturday lunch, the warm greetings we received set the stage for the exceptional experience that followed, mirroring the wonderful dinners we've enjoyed here already. The ambiance is a perfect blend of relaxed, welcoming, and modern, creating an ideal setting for our weekend treat.
We decided to start our meal with pineapple mimosas made with champagne so exquisite it could easily stand alone. The bubbly delight was the perfect precursor to our culinary adventure. The appetizers were a showcase of the kitchen's mastery in blending flavors and textures, with the roasted cauliflower offering a surprising and delightful mix of being both tender and crispy. The zatar bread came with delectable dipping sauces that we couldn't get enough of, and the vibrant cobia was a fresh, flavorful start to our meal.
Our main courses, the sliders and steak frites, were a testament to the chef's ability to cater to personal taste, cooked exactly to our request and meltingly tender. The fries are just packed with so much flavor they've become an absolute obsession of mine, especially when paired with the innovative mushroom and carrot ketchups.
No meal at The Drake Kitchen and Bar would be complete without indulging in their desserts, and we opted for all three options. Each dessert was a unique experience: the Pavlova de Maiz was a delightful mix of fun and freshness, reminding us of caramel corn. The Chocolate Budino was smooth, rich, and intensely chocolatey. But the Goat Cheese Pan Basco will always have my heart, with its profound flavors of goat cheese and char perfectly complemented by roasted fruit. It's a dish I'll return for time and again.
The Drake Kitchen and Bar continues to impress with its exceptional cuisine, atmosphere, and service. It's a gem that deserves every bit of praise and then some. For anyone looking to treat themselves to a memorable lunch and/or dinner experience, this is the place.
