I recently dined at The Duchess and had a wonderful experience overall. The restaurant has a very classy and elegant atmosphere — perfect for a special evening out. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which made the night even more enjoyable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. A few dishes could have used a touch more salt, but the overall quality and flavors were impressive. My personal highlights were the caviar pasta, scallops, steak tartare, and the lobster and king crab salad — each one perfectly balanced and memorable. The ADE-inspired dessert was also outstanding and a creative way to end the meal. While I didn’t love most of the cocktails I tried, the Sour was exceptional and definitely worth ordering. Their Chablis was also excellent and paired nicely with the seafood dishes. All in all, The Duchess offers a refined dining experience with great food, lovely ambiance, and top-notch service. I’d happily return, especially for that caviar pasta and dessert.

Great experience and food. They even somehow made it possible for a salad to be fancy. I particularly recommend the fish appetiser, beef wellington, and the chocolate desert. I have a comment to make particularly about the dessert, because it was just a texture explosion with crispy, soft, pütürlü (idk how to say this in english), heavy and light parts i mean WOW give me more

The staff were friendly, attentive, although a bit amateur in the context of fine dining. Ex: they would serve first the guest who tasted the wine bottle, or they would do big pours, or they would bring plates for sharing but only place 1 on the table and leave the other 3 on the bar to go fetch something else… The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with the overall quality and flavors were impressive. Note that the food is meant to be shared. That’s why the menu states that plates will come out as they are ready: everyone should try everything that’s ready. If there’s one thing you should try it’s the chateaubriand. And the Camembert cheesecake.

Lovely trendy restaurant in Amsterdam . Great atmosphere , good music and excellent service. Deserts are huge and great to share . Some good starters . Cocktails are ok , I ordered an espresso martini and it felt like there was no alcohol. The chicken is very average , certainly not a dish to recommend.

Loved all the plates we had! Our waiter did such a good job helping us picking our plates based on our likings. The brioche bread they bring to you as a welcome with the Greek olive oil is so tasty. We also loved the crème brûlée!

Everything about the duchess was outstanding. The service was top tier, the lighting and ambiance of the restaurant was something I have never seen before. Dim and romantic but a stream of light passed through the center of each table so you could see your meal and read your menu perfectly. The green goddess salad, truffle risotto, beef Wellington, and roasted chicken was splendid. A true fine dining experience- I wish e had saved room for dessert because the ice cream cart and chocolate bomb looked amazing!

We recently hosted an exclusive corporate event at The Duchess, and the entire experience was nothing short of perfection. From the moment we began planning, the team was exceptional, but the evening itself truly exceeded all our expectations. The venue is absolutely spectacular, providing a luxurious and elegant backdrop that impressed all of our guests. The ambiance is simply magical. The food was out of this world—each dish was a work of art and tasted even better than it looked. What truly set our experience apart was the impeccable service. I must give a special shout-out to Ilaria and the entire team who managed our event. Their professionalism, warmth, and incredible attention to detail were second to none. Over priced what they served , not worth . Pasta was cold - no flavour . Chicken was pink on the bone - I mean this is my experience . For someone it’s Amazing - am a good traveler. Cocktails was ok - server is great .

An absolutely divine spot for afternoon tea with champagne service! The entire experience was exceptional. Though we couldn't finish all the desserts, we happily took them to-go for a sweet treat later. Standouts included the tartare sandwich with caviar, the ham and cheese finger sandwich, and the delightful apple ice cream bite to finish. The live piano music added such a charming touch, and the serene river views made it all the more special. Highly recommend for a memorable afternoon.

As a guest at W Hotel Marriott, we were recommended to have breakfast buffet at the Duchess. The Breakfast Manager, I believe his name was Marion, was everything you imagine in your ideal interaction when you enter a restaurant. He was friendly and personable, with a little sense of humor and a lovely sense of decorum. The building is exceptionally beautiful with fantastic art installations throughout. In a former bank building, they have given this space a sense of sophistication and warmth. The breakfast buffet is nice but the chef prepared warm options are perfection. They even have gluten free bread and prepare the food separately if you have a gluten allergy as I do.

The Duchess is in the charming old banking building with stunning features like stained glass and vaulted ceilings. The decor is amazing, we ordered a range of appetizers - our favorites were the lobster and king crab salad, beetroot tartare and the baked scallop, all were flavorful and fresh. We also enjoyed the fennel salad and the crunchy zucchini with truffle (very unique dish). For entrees, the beef Wellington and whole sea bass were our favorites. Service was excellent and attentive. The ambience is lively with plenty of locals. Highly recommend!

This a great One Michelin star restaurant... a match made in heaven (meaning my taste buds and the Duchess restaurant). Beef tartare, baked seas bass and a wine pairing . Magnifique! Slight improvements needed include the kitchen including the hard fibrous ends of the asparagus. The chocolate explosion was a wonderful show, Oh, and the servers are top notch from countries scattered across the European Union. I head Greek and Spanish accents and a smattering of others. Make reservations ahead of time and get ready to give your taste buds a memorable experience.

You don't need my review.... Excellence at its best. A little noisy but otherwise 5-star service, five-star food and creative menu. LOVED it for breakfast as well. Spread was well thought out. I was surprised all the type for this place and the Michelin Star. I was not overly impressed by the food or the service. There are many other restaurants to eat at in Amsterdam.

The Duchess has become a reoccurring visit when we're in town. We've now been 3 times in 3 visits over the last year and a half. 2 times for High Tea and 1 dinner. The two are quite different but equally fun and creative. The teas and food items have changed which has made the visits more exciting. The staff have always been polite, accommodating, and warm. They speak great English which makes things run smoothly. The staff, that we've interacted with speak English, Dutch, French, Italian. For the High Tea you're given two types of teas. One to pair with your savory bites and one for sweets. Each tea is unique and suited for the food. When we did the High Tea during Christmas the savory bites were mini burgers and sandwiches. Our next visit, Spring, the savory bites were sandwiches and arancini and a type of puffed bread. Both times the first sweet has been a fresh baked scone with clotted cream and jam. The scone is always warm, flaky and buttery. Yum! The next sweets are a tiered tower of delightful sweets of all sorts (tarts, macaron, cotton candy, eclairs, etc). During Christmas they were an array of whimsical Christmas items (packages, Christmas trees, etc). In Spring they were cute colorful delectable bites. Dinner at The Duchess is where the kitchen shines. The Dover Sole is definitely the best I've ever had! The Truffle risotto was a dish that we still talk about today, 4 months later. The rice cooked to perfection, the truffles not over powering, the broth used was deep and rich. It was utter perfection. Every dish we've had at the restaurant has been delicious and creative. We've never returned a dish or wish it was prepared differently. We can't wait to return during our next visit.

Highly recommend! All dishes are delicious here but my favorite must be the baked scallops. I was jetlagged but it's so good that it woke me up. Excellent service in this chill vibe ambiance.

Ambiance was nice with the exception of the lights going brighter and dimming every 10 min. The food was just ok. I was expecting with this price point and the fact that they are Michelin rated it would be great. I got the seafood pasta, escargot, and my husband got the pepper steak that was recommended. The steak was super chewy. Pasta, not a lot of flavor. The service was great although they wouldn't sit us as the bar as we would have liked they said it was full... no one sat there the entire time we were there. Our server was very friendly and served us well. For food taste, I recommend going somewhere else.

The Duchess restaurant located in the W Hotel in Amsterdam is an exquisite dining experience both with the level of service, the decor and the Mediterranean a la carte options. This would certainly be a great location for a celebratory lunch or dinner - or if you are a foodie like me... This Michelin star restaurant is for an amazing gastronomic experience Because, why not!!! My only critique would be that I wish the portion sizes were bigger. And that's clearly because the food is so delicious!!

Fantastic service, fantastic atmosphere and fantastic food. Something for everyone. Portions are manageable and flavors are deep. I ordered the scallop and the seafood pasta and both were so absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly.

We were here as a big group of 10ish people to celebrate two birthdays, and were served a set menu for €120. I'm not sure if this was their regular menu - everything was well-executed and delicious, but unexciting for a Michelin-starred restaurant. The most interesting dish was the tuna tartare with the chutney. Everything else just felt like standard steakhouse fare... but very damn good steakhouse fare. 1. Oysters with Tomato Consommé 2. We were in Amsterdam for a holiday. Decided to try the Duchess which had a good review. It is a beautiful room a former bank from the late 1800's. Our wait staff was very friendly and helpful. We started with the bracciola which was tasty but a tad salty. For mains we had the prawns which were good in a delicious sauce and the pasta with braised ribs. It was very good the pasta was made in house. They have a very good reasonably priced wine list. Overall it was a good experience but not as great as we expected. I think the problem was with the cooking staff. We had a view of the kitchen and the average age was under 30. They need an experienced chef to do quality control. With that I think they would be excellent.

Wrapping up a business trip in Amsterdam was looking for a place that would have a flair of elegance, without being overly pretentious, and happened to find that the restaurant right at my hotel for the bill perfectly. As an added bonus, my co-worker had never been to a Michelin starred restaurant, so this fave is the opportunity to expand our horizons. The Duchess proved to be an outstanding choice. Our bar seats were slightly out of the way and gave us a prime perch to absorb the wonderful character of the main room. The restored bank building had a charm that was reflective of the charm of the city it's self. The bartenders were quite attentive and we had soon decided on several dishes to try. As my co-worker is a less than adventurous gourmand, we kept it fairly simple: steak tartare, tuna tartare, and a potato roti with truffle. The steak tartare - perfectly balanced. The tuna tartare, even better - served with a dusting of pistachios which was a new twist for me. Really really good. The star appetizer, however, was the potato roti. A crisp exterior, with a delicate center of mashed potatoes. Divine! Even if "fried potatoes" is a basic human need, this one was so elevated! The hint of truffle flavour was subtle and did not overpower the appetizer. A great start for the restaurant. For our entree we moved to beef Wellington and the salt baked sea bass. Both were quintessentially examples of such dishes. My co-worked had never had the Wellington and truly enjoyed it. My sea bass brought back memories of a similar dish enjoyed on in St. Tropez on the shores of the Mediterranean. Simply prepared deliciousness. Of course, after such an amazing meal, we had to indulge in some desserts. We tried the pavlova and a cheesecake. My pavlova was a mango based example of the dish and was Very very good. My co-worker's cheese cake was...different. It had a unique funkiness of the cheese. It wasn't horrible, but was a little unexpected for two Americans used to Juniors cheesecake in the States Truly, the Duchess made for an fine elevated closure to an other dreary, cold week in Amsterdam. It warmed our hearts and filled our bellies. Definitely recommend.

Loved this place and will come back when I visit Amsterdam. The service and food is just something to dream of. And the overall ambiance of the place and details make you feel special.

I mean, I dunno. It's a standard French Brasserie-style Michelin restaurant. Duck, risotto, beef Wellington were all great. Pesto pasta was a little heavy on the cream in the pesto sauce but it all works. Staff was friendly and really wanted us to have a good experience, which was awesome. But if I could do it again I'd probably just focus on dessert. The chocolate surprise thing and the table made ice cream with liquid nitrogen were not only a great show, but the flavors were all there. The building/restaurant itself is extremely nice - an old bank vault with 30/40 foot ceilings and one main large dining room. I wouldn't choose here for a cozy meal. They were preparing the tea service when we left after a lunch - looked like that might be the highlight to make sure you hit here. Compared to other one-stars we've been to, the menu is just doing staples well, no more and no less.

Literally a perfect breakfast: beautiful setting, great view of the canal and a truly wonderful breakfast offering. Very good variety and quality of foods; these people care and know what they are doing.

The restaurant has a nostalgic and stylistic vibe with a spacious seating layout. The service was very attentive and engaged throughout the dinner service. The food was excellent in all aspects. The guests enjoyed the sea bass ceviche, the crispy rosti, scallops, sole, short rib with pasta and for desert the pavlova and creme brûlée were fantastic standouts to finish the meal. The Duchess is located in the Bank building of the W Hotel in Amsterdam. The Exchange building across the street houses Mr. Porter and the W Lounge.

Food was delicious. Service was brilliant. Ambiance was sexy, fun, and relaxing. Great spot for dinner!

Food was solid but not Michelin star worthy. Our waiter was fantastic. The whole place is way too crowded and noisy for an upscale dinner. Tables right on top of each other. I had the pistachio pesto pasta and it was good but nothing we had was memorable.

My husband and I are still talking about the best beef Wellington we ever had and our excellent server 3 days later! We wish we weren't a long flight away to go again soon. We had: -Escargot -Fennel pistachio salad -Seabass -Beef Wellington -Pavlova -Chocolate Explosion We've gone to 3-star Michelins that do not come anywhere near the flavor of the dishes at The Duchess. This is a definite must in Amsterdam!

Yum! Everything about our dining experience was top tier. Great food (the beef tar tar is in my dreams now), service, and ambience. This one is a must go. Really enjoyed the risotto, sea bass, and the Camembert cheese cake!

I wish I had more experience with food to explain how appreciative I am.The service was so professional, everything was so clean, our waitress knew how to match me the perfect cocktails to our meal and I think the alcohol upgrade the meal by a lot.

Not only the best food we've had in Amsterdam, but also probably the best meal we've ever had!! Everything was SO good and the service was amazing! Also so nicely decorated and great vibes all around.

For a high end concept restaurant one can do better, much better. As a matter of fact, in our case better was hot dogs and burgers stand on the corner. I wish I was kidding or exaggerating. We went with high expectations after getting a recommendation from a friend and taking a look at the website and the menu. I mean, once you look over it, it does sound amazing, doesn't it? Anyway, we freshened up and braved through the below zero temperatures to get to taste the wonderful things that the menu had promised us. The restaurant is located inside the same building as the W hotel and the building is stunning. It feels like you are walking into a place from almost a hundred years ago.. alas, looks can be deceiving. It all started okay. We got introduced to our server, got a bottle of water and placed order for drinks there were absolutely great, except it took 15 minutes to get them and even our server had to apologize and say that she is not sure why it's taking so long. It should have been a warning. Granted the drinks were good, still... We ordered three appetizers and one main course to share. The first appetizer was oysters and it was darn good but it's very difficult to ruin good oysters. The second one was beef tartare and arguably it was the best I've had. Sadly that's all the positives I can mention. The bread that came with tomato and pepper should have been amazing but the bread and tomato were extremely oversalted - at some point I took a bite and it was nothing but salt! Similarly, baby eel was not just oversalted, it tasted of nothing but salt. While the trio of appetizers arrived at a fairly reasonable time, the 10 mushroom risotto that made me salivate when I read the menu, was taking upwards to an hour to get to our table. At about 45 minute mark or so, our server stopped by to say that the risotto is going to be out in a minute. Fifteen minutes later we asked to cancel it and get our check. Over the course of an hour and forty minutes we were not asked even once whether we'd like more water ( we did) or more bread (we did) or to order something else.... In addition there a gentleman with an overgrown mustache who was very impatient and abrasive and a dictionary definition of condescending prick and alpha-male mainsplainer douche who made it a point to turn his nose up and remove everything from the table the millisecond it was no longer necessary. Of course, when we actually need someone in charge, he was nowhere to be found. Once we have politely asked our server to cancel the risotto and bring our check, The Overgrown Mustache decided to inquire if everything is okay with the fakest smile I've seen in person. When I told him that I've had dinners at most iron chefs restaurants and multiple Michelin star restaurants and this was by far the worst, he somehow managed to impart on us that he would rather we not pay the €180, however this was not offered as an apology for a bad service or no, this was offered as the most condescending slap in a face "you plebs" way that we 7 out of general principal. Literally the worst birthday experience and the worst dinner in Europe I've ever had.

Wasn't sure what to expect when I made my reservation for this place. It does have a Michelin star but it's also a hotel restaurant which tend to be overpriced and not that great. Truth be told this place might be considered by some as overpriced but overall I thought the place was great. Really cool atmosphere and vibe with killer drinks and food to go with it. 2 weeks later and I'm still thinking about that pistachio sour I had. For food I had the steak tartare and the beef Wellington with truffle mashed potatoes. All three dishes were excellent and would order again. Service was also quick and unobtrusive. Would definitely come back here next time I am in Amsterdam.

I guess i expected more for Michelin. We ordered 5-6 plates. Nothing knocked my socks off but the creme brulle was delicious partly due to the homemade ice cream on top was delicious. The short ribs sauce was so incredibly strong, it was hard to eat. Spaghetti caviar didn't have a lot of flavor. Service was impeccable and the building was gorgeous. Was a nice experience but probably won't go back.

Yes portions are small, BUT everything we had was DELICIOUS and service was impecable. The Foie Gras doughnuts are NOT TO BE MISSED, and the Sole is one of the best fishes I have had. Great ambience too, but casual, which we loved. I highly recommended this place!

Simply delicious, great service and beautiful place I could not take pictures of it because we could not resist once food arrived we ate it. The food was all really good. The ambience was also very nice. The creme brûlée left something to be desired and was very disappointing.

I have traveled all over the world and eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants, but I would rate The Duchess as one of my all time favorites. Everything was amazing, from start to finish. I can't tout it enough!

It's absolutely beautiful inside. We had the server pick the top ten things for us unfortunately I didn't get any pictures as my friend was on a date lol They had good tequila there which seems to lack in the city. We started with the Lobster and King Crab Salad, Avocado & Plum Tomatoes which was my absolute favorite. Baked Scallop with Mushrooms and Hollandaise, I also really enjoyed this. The Spaghetti with Beluga Caviar was fresh. Dover Sole Meunière light flaky and delicious , Peppercorn Entrecôte was way over peppered for all of us. Grilled Asparagus with Aged Balsamic was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had Royal Crème Brûlée and Chocolate dream. Overall everything was great a few things we just okay.

Very good, high touch service and interesting environment with plenty of air space light the food was top notch.

This place was quite an amazing dining experience all around. Even though the night we went they had a limited menu due to kitchen complications, the meal was stellar from start to finish. Amazing drinks - I got a lemon drop martini and an espresso martini. Had an amazing beef Wellington, and some great apps. Atmosphere is mixed but, would be great for a romantic date night or a business/colleague dinner. It is quite expensive, and more than what I usually am willing to pay for dinner but it was an amazing and well worth it vacation treat! Desserts are a must. Drinks are a must. 2 entrees, an app, a side to share, 3 drinks each and 2 desserts was about 300 euro (just an FYI)

Michelin Star restaurant with great ambiance, excellent cuisine, and friendly staff. Eleni our host was very friendly and resourceful, certainly an asset to the establishment. I will certainly return here on my next trip.

Spectacular. Absolutely lovely. I came in and sat at the bar for drinks and desserts. I wish that I hadn't eaten dinner already because I would have loved to have eaten more. I can definitely see how and why this place was awarded a Michelin star. The service is fantastic. No joke, the bartender remembered the wine that the man sitting next to me got on his previous visit. And it had been weeks. WEEKS!!! The atmosphere is sophisticated but friendly and accommodating. I didn't feel out of place and was very comfortable. I got 2 desserts, both of which were on the heavier side so I asked the bartender to decide on a drink that would accompany my selections. He made an excellent choice and I very much enjoyed my entire experience. When and if I come back to Amsterdam I am absolutely going to come back here and eat as much as I can.

Inside the W hotel you'll find the Duchess, a jewel box of a restaurant. We went there for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner, but we didn't tell the restaurant. Our service was therefore typical...and wonderful. No question too unusual, every action tailored to make us feel welcome. We had two starters and two mains: the starters were a carpacio of yellow pumpkin, which had been marinated in line juice and tasted like heaven. The other was lobster and king crab atop avocado and tomato...yummy. We paired this with a Pouilly-Fume that was also perfect with our Dover sole, a real highlight of the meal. Our other main was lamb chops, served with haricot vert. Delicious, joined to a full bodied red. Finished with a cheese plate for him and creme brulee for me. Pictures really will not do this justice, but this was a remarkable meal, and definitely one way to mark a special occasion.

Small wait for our table but we were accommodated at the bar in the meantime. Lovely space with good lighting, influencer friendly. We let our server dictate our 3 course meal, everything was delicious besides the extra peppery steak and that may just be personal preference. Overall lovely night out.

Hotel guest, way too convenient. Think I didn't have full respect for how popular they were here in Amsterdam. Ranked high on another guide and tough reservation around this time of year. Firstly, I would come back in a heartbeat. I went classic, steak, mashed with ttruffle and mushrooms ten ways. Used the sommelier to decide, she was a good help, did not drive a selection I am a full body cab lover and I choose French blend over California pure. 2017 Chateau Cantenac Brown, Margaux Grand Cru. Very nice a bit over priced. When all paired together this was an outstanding pairing and worth the spend. Service, 4.5 - Done well. Staff attentive although they lean towards turning the table, they settled down when I ordered the bottle of wine, server had a few tables sit at same time but still found me and kept all cared for. Others covered when they saw needs. Food, 5.0 - peppercorn entricote, truffled mashed potatoes and ten way mushrooms, topped off with crème brûlée. Steak was not as good as I've had but solid 4.5 (had some char which isn't really my like) but flavor and tenderness good. The peppercorn sauce was on point. Coupled with truffled mashed was great and heavenly when finished with the wine. Mushroom retained wild flavor while still flavorful and buttery and all together great. If you have a chance, you should not be disappointed.

Delicious food. Lovely ambiance. Beautiful setting for a spectacular meal. Our waitress Stephanie was super sweet. Cocktails are superb. Opted for the pino noir old fashioned. Started with the lobster and avocado salad. Temperature and portions on point. Cabbage salad with radicchio and pomegranates was refreshing and citrus was not overwhelming. The spaghetti with caviar was delicious and buttery until a hair was found- manager and waitress were apologetic and professional. Dessert was the chocolate explosion! Visually stunning and tasted amazing. Only problem was I was overcharged for 2 additional desserts. Spoke with restaurant- I have to take a photo of receipt and send an email. Will update this post with an additional star when I get a response from management

Sadly had a mediocre experience here: The beef Wellington dough was undercooked, other dishes were not bad but also not super special. Presentation was mostly quite good though. Personally I also was not a fan of the loud music as well

Enjoyed the High Tea in the Tea Room for my birthday :D It was absolutely delightful both in taste and looks. The food comes out slowly so you can enjoy several pots of the wonderful teas they have available, there's several pages of choices. You can also add cocktails and al a carte desserts but what comes with is plenty of food. Love the whimisical dishes and the grown up cotton candy that comes out at the end of the tea!

I had a reservation and they closed the kitchen before my order was taken. I have never been any restaurant with a reservation and kicked out with no food. This was at the end of a long day with no food. Maybe it is because I am ethnic? Caution coming here. Not sure how they gained a Michelin Star....

Our first night in Amsterdam and we had dinner in this beautiful location. Food was excellent, flavorful and beautiful. Highly recommended and great place for date night.

By far the most luxurious and expensive place I've ever spent my money on for drinks and it was all worth it. Located across from the W Hotel. Walking in through the front door and gliding up the stairs feels like going to a different world... beautiful high ceilings, gorgeous decor with a subtle and moody lighting. Pretty sure this is were some of Fergie' inspiration of "The Dutchess album" was taken. Ladies, ladies, ladies... don't be so "Clumsy" now... this is "Glamorous!" Front attendants are so friendly and welcoming. We were seated promptly as we didn't have any reservations that late afternoon. Drinks were so innovative, crafty, cutting-edge and absolutely refreshing. Variety of interesting options on their drinks menu. Nothing to your fancy? Nicely ask your bartender if they would customize your own drink and you'd be surprised how quick and happy they are to oblige on your request. Blown away! Day of excursion exploring Amsterdam can be very tiring at times and this place made it extra special for us. Top notch service all around. High end, modern, chic and ultra expensive establishment. I can totally get use to this lifestyle...I'mmm certain I must be related to Warren Buffet... third distant cousin perhaps? Nah...son! Definitely, recommend dropping by when in Amsterdam with or without reservations. Simply put on your shoes, your shirts and there will be NO problem. Proost...! Why limit happy to an hour? Sip sip hooray!

Decided to try this 1 Michelin Star restaurant for a friend's bday while my friends and I were in Amsterdam. He made the reservations way in advance and the ambience and atmosphere of the place are absolutely grand. Exactly what you would expect of a place called The Duchess. Service was good too as the staff were very attentive. The food was also good and deserving of a one Michelin Star place. I wish I came for dinner so I could try their selection at that time. But the lunch menu will have to suffice. Our group ordered a lot of plates to share from the lunch menu as it was a fixed menu, not a tasting menu. While all the good dishes were good, nothing really stood out as exceptional, this the four stars. And the price was good for lunch. So I would definitely recommend a stop here while you're in Amsterdam.

I do really like this restaurant. First, it's so pretty. Beautiful ceiling and lighting. Great service - from the friendly host staff to the bartender and servers. They have an interesting cocktail menu. I tried the tomato and soda. Creative and tasty. The brioche roll and tomato with oil and pepper served first is so good. The tomato is fresh and so good. But I really loved the salt on the pepper. Yum! The tomato and ricotta salad was light and full of colorful and flavorful tomatoes. My husband got the beef Wellington (somewhat the reason we dined here) and loved it. The meat was super tender. The grilled asparagus had lots of salty and delicious cheese and sweet balsamic reduction. I went for the short rib pasta. Quite tasty. The beef was super tender. Kind of like pot roast with lots of black pepper on the crust. We sat at the bar on this visit. The bartender was quite friendly and helpful. Overall great meal and experience.

As far as the restaurant itself, it is very beautiful and designed well. Food was prepared well and came out in a timely manor. However, their was a huge disparity in the level of service we received in comparison with other tables in the same section. Did we not order enough or expensive food to satisfy their gratuity threshold? We approached management who tried to step in and recover, but even his conversation seemed forced. He offered desserts which appeared, at first, to supplement for the lack of customer service but was weak. Needless to say, we had good food at a nice venue but experienced sub-par customer service for the price tag. If you decide to reserve a table, hope that you end up with a server that will give you the experience you deserve.
