Step into this charming Victorian pub, known from "Pop Goes the Weasel," where a welcoming vibe, craft beers, and a cozy courtyard promise a delightful time.
"The Eagle in Farringdon doesn’t offer a set menu, but it does offer some of London’s finest pub food at a very good price. The Mediterranean menu changes daily, but come for things like clam chowder or a whole grilled fish, plus a dessert, and still get change from £30. If you’re looking for a one-dish wonder, then their beastly Portuguese bifana steak sandwich is the thing to get." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
"For a pub named after a giant predatory bird, this old-school Farringdon joint is actually pretty laid-back. It’s got a simple dining room with lots of mismatched wooden chairs—but don’t let the casual feel fool you. This place serves some truly excellent classic Mediterranean dishes, and whether you come for lunch or dinner, you need to get involved in their bifana. The steak sandwich is basically a whole meal between bread. Be warned, this place is popular and for larger table bookings (between five and 10 people) you’ll have to give them a call." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna
"Is a sandwich even a sandwich if its contents don’t fall out and become finger food? We think no. And if you do too, then head to Farringdon to get The Eagle’s steak sandwich. This enormous crusty Portuguese sandwich is big enough to have its own gravitational pull, but gravity means slices of marinated steak will definitely end up on your plate. This bifana has been on the pub’s menu since day one for good reason." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna
