"What does a boat oar, an old bicycle, a moose head, and a PBR pennant all have in common? Nothing, which is why we always question why they’re all hanging on the walls at The Earl, a small, much-beloved music venue and dive bar in the heart of East Atlanta. Nothing really goes together, but no one really cares because they’re drinking cheap beer and listening to loud rock music. To blend in, grab a beer and order the Big Earl—their messy version of a Big Mac that has caramelized onions, sauce, and cheese dripping out the sides—it’ll sober up anyone who has had one beer too many." - juli horsford

"This veggie burger deserves a spot on this list. The meatless option from everyone’s favorite dive bar and music venue, The EARL, features a grilled in-house black bean patty seasoned with smoky spices and just the right amount of heat. They serve it between a toasted sesame seed bun and top it with pepper jack cheese, salsa verde, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. Even fans of The EARL’s classic burger (which deserves an honorable mention) comment on how phenomenal their black bean one is. It’s the perfect spot to grab a late-night burger and catch some live music. Best for: Dive bar veggie burger with live music" - Michael Tran
"This East Atlanta Village dive bar is known for hosting a wide and eclectic range of alternative and underground bands on its stage. Most tickets for shows here are $20 or under. The Earl also includes a full bar and menu of pub food, including a couple of Atlanta’s finest burgers and its “Irish Nachos” — tater tots atop nacho chips covered in chili, cheese, lettuce, salsa, jalapeños, and sour cream." - Denise K. James
"Classic dive bar food in a classic East Atlanta Village dive bar, the Earl gives its tater tots a nacho makeover. The Irish Nachos are tater tots set atop nacho chips and then covered in chili, cheese, lettuce, salsa, jalapeños, and sour cream. Sub out the chili for Brunswick stew to give those tots some Georgia flare." - Eater Staff
