"Hit up the Fairmount when you’re planning a last-minute group hang or Happy Hour, because it’ll have something (and enough space) for everyone. Options range from low-brow beers to fancy wines, but their best drink is The Donnelly, a mezcal cocktail upgraded with bubbly, pear liqueur, and elderflower. The Fairmount’s menu is so big that it could take a year to work through it (though you’ll probably just get the parmesan truffle fries every time you come), and its many rooms serve as a gallery space for local artists. Things here are constantly changing, and that’s what’s great about it." - kate bigam kaput

Had a good dinner here. Got the short rib and risotto which was lukewarm but delicious. I should have asked for it to be heated up a bit. My mom got the harvest salad and loved it. We both liked our cocktails. I ordered a pecan tart to go and it was burnt. This shouldn’t have been sent out the kitchen. 2/3/2025 I reached out to the email provided and still haven’t received a reply. I see the owner responded but I don’t want people to think anything was resolved when it wasn’t. I’ll update if I’m contacted.

Today Emily took care of us and we had a great experience! Emily was a wonderful server and we'd definitely love to have her again. We sat at the bar and ordered the Roasted Pear and Sage flatbread and Truffle Fries. The truffle fries were really tasty, especially the truffle butter dipping sauce. But the star of the show was the the flatbread without a doubt. The combination of the pears, the chicken sausage that just has to be homemade and the cheese was out of this world. We loved it and will definitely be back to order it again.

Google
It’s always a fun time at The Fairmount! Food and drinks are delicious. I would recommend if you’re coming with a group to call ahead and make a reservation as the place is pretty much always packed in the evenings. We’ve done multiple times and they have both indoor and outdoor dining. The patio is very nice and dog friendly.

Google
Good experience. The bartender was very attentive. The drinks were amazing. Ordered Cauliflower wings, they were a little undercooked. Besides the food everything was great

Google
Great place! Boneless chicken wings are not white meat nuggets. But I should have known and they worked it out and made me happy. These people are really the very best. You know when you're frustrated because you didn't get what you wanted? Well they know that and make it right, the best way is their way. I will go back here. Super people.

Google
Very cool place. Didn’t get a chance to try the food, but excellent drinks! Some that we had: dirty martinis, hot pepper tequila shot/pineapple chaser, Moscow mules and some cool cucumber drink (pictured), but I can’t remember the name. All were great!

Google
Happy hour was wonderful! My group had 10 minutes before happy hour ended and our server rushed our order in! Great service and the food was delicious! I enjoy the pub feel, the restaurant is light enough to see your food but keep the vibes calm and relaxing! I would recommend this for a gathering with friends!

Google
Stopped in for a drink before a show at the Agora Theatre. Really comfortable atmosphere with several seating options, including lounge seating in front of a fireplace. We had 2 espresso martinis and a beer. Service was fast and attentive. Didn't get a chance to eat, but what I saw on other tables looked inviting. In short, it is a great place to meet friends for drinks and food.

Yelp
Always a great vibe! I've been attending this establishment for years and never had a bad day there! The cocktails are top tier!

April B.

Yelp
We had the best seat by a fireplace on a cold evening. Everything we ordered was delicious, including the craft cocktails!

Camille B.

Yelp
I saw someone post their tiramisu martini and thought that would be a delicious way to end the year so I decided to eat dinner here on New Year's Eve. I got there a little after four to be the New Year's Eve chaos. I got the tiramisu martini and the the chimichurri steak frites The martini was absolutely delicious it's $15 but I do think it's worth the price. I would definitely have one again. The chimichurri steak frites was pretty good flavor wise. I was a little disappointed because my food was not very hot at all. It was pretty Room tip, but I was super hungry and didn't want to take the chance of them reheating it and over cooking my steak so I ate it as is, which is why it only got four stars. I also got a slice of lemon cream cake to go I wish it was a little more tart It was pretty sweet. It also was frozen in the middle so that was a little disappointing

Lauren W.

Yelp
Super cute place, dimly lit ambiance.. Feels very intimate even when it's busy. Love that there's also mocktail selections. I ordered the Faux 75; great citrus flavor! We ordered the pierogis and a couple burgers. I cannot believe the flavor of those pierogis with the beef on top! Amazing! I will be thinking of them for awhile!! Amazing flavors and even better service. We will definitely be back.

Aerionna M.

Yelp
Food was delicious and I can see why they're known for their cocktails. There's a ton of variety on their menu to satisfy anyone's tastes. It seems like the menu changes pretty frequently. I came in with an idea of what I wanted after looking at photos on Yelp. Nothing I saw was on the menu! But that's completely fine. My short rib and mushroom risotto was delicious. My partner had the chicken sandwich which was incredible crispy with great flavor. It was a pretty busy night when we came in but the restaurant is large enough to accommodate intimate date nights or larger, loud groups. There was a pretty long wait for food, so we actually missed our next event, but the manager checked in on us pretty frequently.

Mike B.

Yelp
Great cocktail spot on cedar hill. Don't miss their burger or tacos if they have them

Tiffany G.

Yelp
This place is such a cozy and welcoming restaurant. Cute little fireplace and attentive staff. Great drink menu with a bunch of unique drinks. Awesome happy hour and decent food. Looking forward to returning and trying more!

Ailin J.

Yelp
Love this place. Wish I could come every weekend. Never can go wrong drinks or food or just a good time. Servers are all so friendly and dang this place was packed even for a Tuesday!

Rita O.

Yelp
I will say that The Fairmount is my go to. I love it, particularly in the summer. The patio is such an awesome place to be. I still go to the Fairmount during winter, but during the seasons when the patio is open, the experience is on a whole other level. I also appreciate that in a city where everything closes early, The Fairmount is up till 2am. I really have nothing bad to say about the food in general, and having tried most of their menu, the only two things I wouldn't recommend is: 1. the Poke Bowl, the rice is always a bit too cold, starchy, and a bit dry to chew. 2. The "Not So Standard" drink, which tasted like cough syrup. Otherwise 10/10 would recommend.

Danielle S.

Yelp
This was a really nice patio experience on a Friday night. It's a beautiful little area hidden away from the street, and the waiter was very kind and attentive. We had a very good burger and fries, which had excellent toppings and sauces. We also had the special of the night, which was a peanut noodle bowl. It appealed to us because it was full of a nice variety of veggies. But when the dish arrived, it was mostly noodles, with a sprinkling of different veggies. It had good flavor, but didn't blow us away. It was a lot of food, though, and we had leftovers! There's a really nice cocktail and beer menu, and there were maybe 5-7 beers on draft. I would definitely return on a nice night!

Yelp
Great spot in Coventry for dinner and drinks. Food quality is great. I got a flatbread from here and it was phenomenal. Drinks are great and some of them aren't terribly expensive. A little bit pricy but would highly recommend giving this spot a try for a semi-fancy night with friends or SO!

Valerie M.

Yelp
Awful Caesar salad, tasty flatbread, inedible crème brûlée. Drinks okay. Service not good from busy bartender when the table next to us had terrific service from another waiter bartender. A lot of money for this experience. I won't rush back soon. Ambience is great. I am so disappointed to feel ripped off money wise and New Years experience wise.

Rachel K.

Yelp
We originally had the Fairmount recommended to us by my step sister while we were visiting Cleveland and we fell in love at first visit. This spot is open late and has delicious drinks and food. They have indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of seating options with high top tables, bar seating, regular tables and even more loungey seating. The bartenders and servers are always friendly and are happy to make suggestions and answer questions if you have them. We were so happy they are open late, we recently visited Cleveland for just one night on a Monday and we wanted to meet with friends after seeing family all day. We wanted a late night spot with great vibes and this spot is perfect. We also love that there's a parking lot behind this strip of businesses which makes it a lot easier to stop by. It can still get busy on more popular nights, but on a Monday at 10:30pm-ish we had no problem. This spot is the perfect vibe for me and our friends. very cool decorations, plant walls and lighting, great food and drinks and awesome service.

Christopher K.

Yelp
I think we came at a time when there weren't enough workers and too many customers. We were seated promptly without reservations. I literally had to ask the host who our server was because it took almost 20 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. For an appetizer, we opted for the lemon pepper hot honey wings. The wings were tasteless. They need a lot more seasoning. My hubby ate one and that was all. I ate more because I was hungry. For our entrees, the hubs ordered a flatbread pepperoni pizza and I had a gluten-free fairmount burger with no cheese. My burger was good but the fries weren't. The hubs stated that his pizza was average at best. The ambience was nice. This is more of a "hipster" crowd, and it is fairly loud indoors. Hubby's meal per his rating: 1. Boneless wings - 1/5 2. Pepperoni Flatbread 2.5/5 My meal: 1. Boneless Wings - 2/5 2. Gluten-free burger - 4/5 3. Fries 2/5 Customer service rating - 3 I really tried to like this place but there were too many letdowns!

Richard M.

Yelp
Had a great time celebrating my 83rd birthday with my daughters and four of my grandchildren. The food and drinks were great. We ate on the patio. Our server did a great job.

Claudia W.

Yelp
The Fairmount is an excellent choice for those warm summer evenings, the patio is such a gem. Drinks are well executed and service was prompt in spite of a busy night. I love the variety of food and the fact that the patio is not facing the street, it truly enhances the atmosphere. For those unfamiliar with the neighborhood, please note that there is ample free parking

Rena S.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I came here on a Thursday evening after an event in University Heights. Parking is easy to find with a big lot behind the building. We sat on the patio which was warm with heaters. Service was good and the menu was large and difficult to choose from since so many choices looked good! We shared the mint and pistachio whipped feta, and then ordered the lemon ricotta ravioli, the Szechuan noodle bowl, and the vegan white bean burger. Everything was great! My only complaint is that we didn't have enough bread to eat all the whipped feta. Service was great and I would digitally return.

Kimberly R.

Yelp
Love the Fairmont! Great happy hour. The patio is beautiful w/ample parking in back. I had the lemon zest and thyme whipped feta and the Carolina gold bbq boneless wings (forgot to snap a pic). The wait staff was awesome - very attentive and super friendly!

Jean R.

Yelp
Lovely fall night - Tuesday - beautiful patio to ourselves. Happy Hour picks of fries, buffalo cauliflower and elote flatbread. Delicious. So many good options to share. Service was kind and quick, unobtrusive. I've lived 10 minutes away from this place for 25 years and I cannot believe it took this long to visit one of the east side's best outdoor spaces. The heating units are out on the patio ready to be used as we move into October - I can't wait to go back.

Joanne M.

Yelp
It's unusual to find good service, great ambience and fabulous food, but the Fairmount has it all!! Haven't been here since it opened as a wine bar many years ago. I live a little farther away, but putting this on my list for a return trip!

Ben R.

Yelp
If you are in the mood for an outstanding burger, The Fairmont has one that is out of this world. The meat is made from tender real meat. It is cooked to perfection from a cooking staff that knows what they are doing! Eat it outside in the beautiful atmosphere with tables and a great outdoor bar. If in the mood for low key, go inside for a more relaxing dimly lit situation. Business in the front, party in the back.

Lizzie A.

Yelp
Love this place. Great food, great service. The patio is so pretty. I enjoy the Painkiller cocktail. It needs the tiki mug it used to come in though. The loss of one star for accessibility--there are stairs and slippery stones in the doorways, hard to navigate with a walker. Other than that, it's awesome!

Rachel M.

Yelp
A nice place to come for a drink and dinner in Cleveland Heights! They have lots of dishes, including burgers, flat breads, bowls, and more! Try also have a fun selection of cocktails and other drinks. In the warmer months, they have a really nice outdoor area to sit as well. I would definitely recommend!

Alvin D.

Yelp
I used to come to Fairmount after work when I lived in Cleveland and always had a great time. I came back into town for my wedding and had a pre-wedding get together with several of the guests from the wedding -- I chose The Fairmount to host this somewhat large gathering. I learned that they have a spacious back room that can have ~ 40 people so I thought it would be a great spot to host this. I was so blown away by how much fun we had. Jerome at the Fairmount was our private bartender and really hooked us up! The drinks were fantastic and as was the music and ambience. Highly recommend this to anyone hosting a private party. Had a truly wonderful time and made my wedding weekend. Thanks so much Jerome and the Fairmount team!

Brittany S.

Yelp
This gem in cleveland heights has the cutest ambiance so cute for a date night or a cozy night out with friends the drinks are always amazing and there's some intresting things to try on there menu to the flat bread to the poke bowls you'll find something to like. And great service. What we ordered: truffle fries= to die for 10/10 Truffle mushroom flatbread =7/10 Szechuan Noodle Bowl=9/10

Mehak K.

Yelp
I have been coming to this place for the past couple years and have been a big fan! It can get quite busy on weekends, especially the patio when the weather is warmer, but it is definitely worth going in person. The menu tends to change a bit, but I've enjoyed the truffle fries, poke bowl, and the Fairmount burger, as well as some of the other items not on the menu anymore. The cocktails have been delicious and fun too! Overall, highly recommend checking this place out.

Brenda B.

Yelp
Food for about half of our friends was way overcooked, (burnt). The manager apologized, had items recooked, and took the items off the bill. He said they had a young, inexperienced cook. I gave 3 stars because of how he handled it

Melanie S.

Yelp
I went to The Fairmount for a work happy hour and it is a great combination of buzzing and really chill. We had great service on the patio, and were able to get a table for 8 with a reservation. The cocktail menu is intriguing, but I just went with a glass of prosecco, and we ordered just about everything on the HH snack menu. The truffle fries were a standout, fresh handcut fries with plenty of parmesan cheese. We also loved the buffalo cauliflower, it had a great breading and the ranch was awesome. For sure a fun place to hang out.

Loretta F.

Yelp
The Fairmount This is ordinarily one of our favorite restaurants for it's food (5 star). Unfortunately, tonight our takeout of the Fairmount Tofu Bowl and the Szechuan Noodle Bowl was moreappreciated by the compost bin than by us.

Dianne M.

Yelp
Great location, ambiance, food and cocktails. We were in town unexpectedly and were happy to find this gem.

Leslie H.

Yelp
All you need to know about The Fairmount aside from their outrageously good happy hour is that they have the best burger in town. The Fairmount burger with Medjool date and bacon lardon chutney surrounded by brie and crispy shallots is heaven between two buns. The sweetness of the dates coupled with creamy brie as you bite into that delicious tender and juicy Angus patty makes this my absolute favorite burger in the city, hands down. Other honorable mentions from their menu are the rosemary bacon fries and cast iron brussels! Flatbreads are also decent and good for sharing between large groups. One last happy hour essential is a pitcher or two of Moscow Mules made with their house ginger beer. There's a reason why this is every Case student's go-to neighborhood bar - you'd be hard pressed to find better HH deals anywhere else in CLE!

Melanie D.

Yelp
First off service was very slow the server was not friendly at all. Took a long time to get our food and when it did finally come out it was burnt and cold!! There are plenty of restaurants in Cleveland. I recommend you skip this one!

Karen N.

Yelp
I always wanted to try the pierogis here and they were excellent!! Came for happy hour and sat on the patio - lovely experience and nice breeze (they turned on the heaters when it got too cold).

Jason L.

Yelp
A great bar for a good cocktail in Cleveland Heights. Have come here for a few events, and their space is great.

Mark E.

Yelp
We've been hoping to visit The Fairmount for some time and finally got around to it. Not the closest location, and not easy to get to from any highway, but a very nice place to visit nonetheless. We ended up putting our name in, and we were 14th in the queue. We walked around the block and returned back to find there were only 4 customers ahead of us. When we sat-down, we quickly realized the place is a maze, hard to see the extent of the place. Got some drinks, yes, they had Great-lakes Christmas ale and the server even asked if I wanted the sugar rim. Wife got the Sweater Weather drink, which was a very nice, warm, cranberry vodka cider. For apps, we got Brussels sprouts and their dumplings. Both were very good, but as dishes came, we realized that they like their Brussels sprouts in this restaurant. Almost all the food we ordered came with it! For the meal, I was hoping to get the pork shank special, but the sold out and got fish and chips instead. The fish is meaty and tasty, but otherwise to be expected. The coleslaw was SPICY, weird and didn't really enjoy it. My wife got the steak bowl, but was too-full and ended up taking it home. Overall, very nice place, aside from the drive, would like to visit it again.

Jacqueline P.

Yelp
Great patio, lotsa space, varied menu and plenty of different areas to chill! The flat bread is so fresh and crispy crust, lovely chunks of avocado and generous chicken cubes!

Sathya A.

Yelp
I love the beautiful patio of this place! It was really spacious, green, and had cute photo backgrounds. There was a good vibe going throughout. For food, the potstickers were good but I wouldn't expect too much- it tastes the same as I would have made it at home. The veggies to the side were really well seasoned and delicious!!! The Mexican street corn salad came much different than I expected. It was two icebergs of lettuce with corn on top, not sure how we were expected to eat that. The dessert cheesecake nachos was a cool concept but not well executed in my opinion. The nachos were fried cheesecake crust which gave it an off putting texture but the toppings were delicious. I would recommend sticking with the actual cheesecake on their menu. Otherwise, service was great and I will definitely be coming back!

Kaitlin K.

Yelp
Haven't been to the Fairmount in a while but it stood up to my fond memory! Our waiter Grayson was excellent, attentive without interrupting and he took care of a table wobble and the too loud music right away! We ate on the patio which is dog friendly and has umbrellas for sun and heaters for cold. It's lovely! So atmosphere and service 5/5. The food is also amazing! Apps: Buffalo cauliflower was lightly spiced with blue cheese sauce and delicious. I dream of this. Pretzel bites were fluffy and the trio of sauces are all tasty- mustard, cheese, garlic? Approximately. Mains: A long standing favorite - the tuna poke bowl. The fish is very fresh and the rest of the bowl has a lot of tasty flavors and textures. Great for a warm day or night. The Gouda mac was a new addition since my last visit but I couldn't resist. It rocked. Spicy mayo, pickled onion, green onion and fried onion rounded out the very creamy Mac. I added chicken to it which was a great addition. The food was also 5/5. Would love to have eaten more but the portions are large and we didn't finish either main after our apps. A last note- the drinks menu has classics and season cocktail options. All are made to order so if you want to modify you can! Which I really appreciate since I haven't quite gotten on board the pepper infused tequila that seems to be so popular this summer. Can't wait to come back!

Eugene T.

Yelp
On a hot day, there is nothing like an awesome shaded patio... and that's exactly what Fairmount has! The patio is really great, one of great one in the city. Weather was 80 degrees but it was close to 10 degree's cooler on the patio (between the shades and umbrellas), which made the dinner so much better. Service was great as well (good job Jerome), there were couple times they were overwhelmed a bit, but nothing to complain about as there always was someone to clean up or to bring something to us. Food was also pretty good, have something for everyone. In our party of 15, we tried variety of appetizers and main courses and everything was above average to good and very good.

Anthony D.

Yelp
Just a wonderful experience !great kids menu with a great ambiance in the winter igloos

Irene C.

Yelp
The Fairmount is it go to place for my friends to all hangout, especially when the weather is nice. The patio has string lights and plenty of seating space. The service has always been excellent and it's a great place to host a group of friends. The owner is also so friendly, and helped me find my wallet when I left it there several months ago. She even messaged me on Facebook and made sure that the managers kept it safe for me to pick it up later. Five out of five!

Leah M.

Yelp
Went there because our first choice wasn't available. ( we were looking for tacos) but the place was busy so we sat at the bar the bartenders were very nice ( i had never been there before) had the chicken bacon avocado l flatbread and it was delicious and so were the truffle fries! Drinks were nice especially if you get a specially crafted cocktail...The Donelly is wonderful! The vibe was great, the space was great!!!Will definitely be back!!

Courtney H.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the atmosphere, food and service! We enjoyed some cocktails, boneless wings, flatbread and a burger. Everything was delicious. Our waitress Kendall was great too! Quick service, always on top of everything!

Eunice D.

Yelp
Loved this spot. They have outdoor seating perfect for a summer day. The food was yummy. The menu had more variety than I initially expected. The service was good and timely. Can't wait to come back to try more.

Jason R.

Yelp
Absolutely everything was fantastic. I'm often a single diner so I sat at the bar and the cocktails were well made and delicious. Plentiful portions of cauliflower bites and the burger and fries were cooked perfectly to temperature and delicious. Service was fast and the restaurant was lively for a week night. I think I see why!

Sreez K.

Yelp
Must try..! One of the best cocktail bars in the area and with good food.. must try place if you are around Cleveland downtown East/west.. They chicken boneless wings , truffle fries and Flat breads are fresh and tasty.. Good food, Good ambience and the bartenders are real professionals..

Martin B.

Yelp
Good food, tends to get pretty crowded and noisy, so we prefer carry out in general. It's too popular. I think yelp needs more words here to post it.

Joseph E.

Yelp
Amazing food and ambience. Staff are super friendly and always available! Wine was great as well , definitely going back !

Helen S.

Yelp
The Fairmount has been a go to favorite since my first days in Cleveland and a seasoned staple of the Cleveland Heights area for students, young professionals, and bar hoppers alike. Getting a table at the Fairmount (when Ohioans are not sheltering in place) can be tricky pretty much any week night, so it's good to have a little flexibility in your plans - or actually plan ahead and book a table in advance. The Fairmount throws a pretty good large group gathering in the large private area, or for a less formal shindig a couch takeover (near the bar) can be arranged. Parking is free in the lot behind the restaurant, but depending on the time of year the patio entrance may or may not be open and you'll have to walk around Luna Bakery to get to the front entrance. Fairmount excels in the glammed up casual drink date with its ample and creative appetizer and shareable menu. Cocktails? NEVER disappoint. Not to mention, the brains behind the kitchen are always cooking up new drink and food items (Joe Exotic Sangria anyone?) so you'll always have something novel to try. My favorite nights usually begin with a cocktail and end with dessert here. Prices are a little higher reflecting the trendier vibe, but it's a good treat-yoself kind of place. The dim lighting may not be for everyone, and you're sure to be squeezing around other people while maneuvering back and forth to the bathroom, but it's the kind of problem you'd expect from a happening place. During COVID-times, I had the pleasure of getting take-out from The Fairmount as well, complete with a cute cocktail packed into a mason jar with garnish tied on the side with a piece of twine. For all the changes that they've had to make, The Fairmount has adapted in stride and is still thinking of how to maintain presentation of their food items. Delivery is available in their delivery mini-monster truck within the Cleveland Heights area. Service is spotty depending on when you come and where you're sitting because of how busy The Fairmount is. Waitstaff tends to come and go and while everyone has been friendly, I've had my fair share of waiting for water, food, or a check. Can't wait for this beloved gem to reopen and sip on a specialty cocktail on the patio.
