"Marc Hurwitz reviews Fairmount Grille for the Dig. The restaurant spans a variety of offerings from New American entrees to classic New England dishes, plus Mediterranean items. Hurwitz calls special attention to the Rhode Island-style calamari, the barbecue-glazed meatloaf, and the chicken parmigiana with linguine. Other noteworthy menu items include classic New England clam chowder, garlicky steak tips, and mac and cheese with cavatappi pasta, and the dessert menu includes a 'sublime' carrot cake." - Dana Hatic

The atmosphere was romantic but also family friendly. The waitress was well versed in the items on the menu and I was very satisfied with her recommendation. I ordered the cocktail shrimp with mango pico de gallo which was to die for and Brussel sprouts in bacon with bleu cheese. She did not steer me wrong; the food was delicious! Not to mention, she was honest in helping to choose between steak tips and flat iron steak; I went with the steak tips! This place is definitely a hidden gem and I’d most definitely visit again!

Delicious chicken and waffles. Service was great. Drinks are great. They have patio open during the summer and an upstairs. Bar is great too.

Delicious brunch on Sunday. They give you a french toast stick appetizer that is absolutely delicious. The crab cakes is worth it.

Food is fantastic - had the special, stuffed pineapple - thought it would be sweet but had enough heat from the shrimp, mussels and chicken to off set it. My husband had the red snapper special and he cleaned the plate. Dessert, key lime pie, was spectacular as always. Service was great. Can I give higher than 5 stars LOL - We will definitely be going again.

My rate is actually a 2.5. I can tell that this place has good intentions. My server was very nice. However, the food took entirely way too long given the fact that it is a Tuesday night and there's not that many people here. It took well over 25 minutes. I got a turkey burger, which upon ordering, was informed that it was a "popular dish here." In my eyes, it was alright. My fries were salty, but I'm not fond of anything even a pinch too salty. My hot chocolate was watery as well. For positives, good portion sizes, fine music selection, and humble atmosphere. This place has potential, but not all the way there. I will try again since it's in the neighborhood.

I go here often because they make the best baked Mac n cheese I've had. I'm impressed with the small intimate nature of this so called hole in the wall because it's not a place you would think to go in at first sight. The parking is hard to come by but worth looking, and the staff is always amazing. I've had the same waitress for almost a year now. The menu is perfect for a place like this and they also have a bar for those who wish to watch the game.

Early evening visit. Staff was friendly, bartender was doing double duty. Just missed happy hour, but the deals looked good. Beer selection is better then I was expecting. Food was OK, not fantastic but fine bar food. I would like to come back for happy hour specials.
