Brevard turns out to be a pretty nice place to stay awhile if you are a foodie. I ate everywhere there during my 3 week stay, and this was my favorite place, which is why I came here twice. I love trout and the fresh NC trout here is so outstanding, I ordered it on both my visits. It falls off the fork, is perfectly seared, and is a generous portion. The accompanying mashed potatoes were buttery and included tasty bits of skin, the real deal. (I apologize I could not get a better photo as the lighting was dim). My friend said her filet was outstanding too. I also ordered the rocket salad as a starter, which is a very nice salad with arugula, blue cheese, toasted almond slivers, and grape tomatoes. The the bourbon molasses vinigerette is made of magic. Wine by the glass is a generous pour.
Service was outstanding both times. Both times they were short-staffed and the place was busy, but "Kutch" was amazing at making me feel welcome, providing great recommendations, and checking in on me.
It's not a huge place and reservations are strongly recommended, although when I arrived the first time I was immediately greeted warmly (by I think the manager) and she found a table for me, depite the fact that I was a solo diner, and brought me reshly baked bread and olive oil when she noticed the food was slower coming out of the kitchen (as they were short-staffed).
