The Best Restaurants in Oceanside, California | Eater San Diego

"This kitschy pie shop operates from the tiny sky-blue Victorian house famous for moonlighting as Charlie Blackwood’s beachfront home in the 1986 movie Top Gun. Here, you’ll find sweet, powdery hand pies packed with fruit fillings like apple, cherry, blueberry, and whatever is most in season; all the pies are gluten-free, which makes it an easy dessert choice for the gluten-intolerant set. Pies can be ordered a la mode or topped with chocolate, salted caramel, lemon curd, and more. Buy them in sets of three, 12, or 24 — this stop is exceedingly good for groups." - Helen I. Hwang

High Pie in the Top Gun House is a delightful blend of nostalgia and sweet indulgence. This historic house famously featured in the original Top Gun movie with Tom Cruise, adds a cinematic charm to the experience. Inside, you’ll find a cozy setting filled with vintage and antique decor, creatively mixed with photos and memorabilia from the film. It’s like stepping onto a movie set with a side of dessert. The star of the show here is the delicious little hand-held pies, served warm with a dusting of powdered sugar. There’s a variety of flavors to choose from. We tried the apple and cherry, and both were absolutely delicious and just the right size for a satisfying treat. Their fruity drinks were a hit with us too. Whether you’re a Top Gun fan or just in the mood for a great dessert with an Ocean view, High Pie is a charming stop that’s well worth the visit!

For those a fan of the Top Gun movies, this is a must visit. On top of that, the pies were actually really good as well as the organic creamy straus soft serve they sell. I was originally going for the apple pie a la mode but they were out. So I ended up getting just one small apple pie and a side of soft serve ice cream. Me and my partner really loved the apple pie bites we ordered more to go. I don’t know what people are expecting and why such low reviews but I definitely thought it was worth the stop and the desserts didnt disappoint.

Google
These pies were delicious, cooked fresh light, and crispy. Great size for a quick snack and love that it came in 3's. Located at the top gun house so it was cool just to take pics there while you snacked on a yummy dessert. They also have lots of outside seating.

Google
Overall cool experience. The pies were kinda small, but tasty. Some of them came on a stick, so it’s freat to give to the kiddos. They also had their version of a ding dong, & that was almost better that the pie.

Google
Don’t understand the low reviews. It’s a nice spot to swing by if you’re in the area. Definitely not a spot I would go out of my way to visit. Prices aren’t bad. It’s $3 for a small pop tart and $3 for a cup of coffee. People pay way more at other tourist spots. Kids loved it. Get the apple pie. Come and get some pies, a coffee and a display of Top Gun memorabilia with a dash of nostalgia. Hot guys spiking volleyballs on the beach are not included.

The Top Gun House, now home to The Famous High Pie, is a perfect blend of history, nostalgia, and delicious treats! Originally built in 1887, this Victorian cottage is one of Oceanside's oldest homes. It gained worldwide fame as the home of Charlie, played by Kelly McGillis, in the iconic Top Gun film. The house was carefully relocated to its current spot near the Oceanside Pier, where it has been lovingly restored and transformed into a charming pie shop. The Famous High Pie serves up incredible hand pies that are as delightful as the setting. It’s a must-visit for Top Gun fans and anyone who loves a good slice of history with their dessert. With its stunning location, movie memorabilia, and unbeatable pies, the Top Gun House is a sweet stop you won’t want to miss!

Google
Absolutely delicious and gluten-free! These hand pies are a must-try—flaky, flavorful, and hard to believe they’re gluten free. The atmosphere is just as charming as the food! Nestled inside the iconic Top Gun house, the space is full of fun memorabilia and nostalgic vibes. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait—there’s usually a line and service can take a little while. But trust me, it’s totally worth it! Great spot for locals and visitors alike.

Christina DiPinto

Google
Come for the nostalgia, but stay for the delicious desserts! Not only is it a fun experience if you are a fan of Top Gun, but the pies are ACTUALLY delicious! We ordered several items to go (mostly pies) and they were all great, even a few hours after purchasing. We had asked for 4 different pie flavors, but unfortunately they only gave us 3. Even though it was disappointing, we would probably go back again to try the ones we missed.

Yelp
What a delightfully quirky place. Kelly McGillis' house in "Top Gun" has turned into a mostly gluten-free hand-pie shop with a smattering of the film's memorabilia. It's worth a visit just to be able to say the above alone. 3 pies for $9 felt reasonable. They're about the equivalent of a pop-tart. There were two of us and we each got different "flights" so got to try the strawberry, blueberry, cherry, and pumpkin. Fillings tasted from a can versus homemade with their sweetness, but was still a nice treat. The pumpkin flavor was the only one that was a bust to us. Also got their Arnold Palmer. Their version is (very) carbonated which gives it an almost sour taste. I didn't care for it, but my husband enjoyed it so to each their own. Service was friendly although the outside table area seemed to have been neglected from cleaning for quite a bit.

Yelp
Top Gun House is cute to visit and take pictures. Pies were OK. PrIce- overpriced Customer service- OK, the young lady who helped us was not friendly.

Yelp
Finally made it here. With all the online hype, and even being forewarned of it being pricey and small, I still wanted to see for myself. Ok, definitely pricier than I would've thought for what they offer, but doable if you think of it as as amusement park setting. It's really the kind of place you visit once and post about on Insta. Nothing to rave about. At least service was really nice and everything we ordered tasted good (good, not great) -just tiny portions. Parking is ridiculous!! Came on a weekend and it was slow since getting off the freeway, then even worse finding a spot in the lot. Line to pay at the machine in the lot was even crazier!
google avatar

Karlie S.

Yelp
Average tasting small pies from an iconic movie filming spot. We tried the strawberry, cherry and apple (best). The pies are palm-sized and all gluten free. I'd recommend skipping the pies and just look around the spot.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after walking along the pier. The motorcycle outside caught my eye and also the sign for pie! I got the seasonal lemon flavor pie and it was really good. Not bad at all for $3. It was a nice little treat while enjoying the decorations of the Top Gun house.
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Super cute pie shop in the original Top Gun house! The person behind the counter was friendly and patient as I made my selections. The staff heated my hand pies for me while I waited (even though I didn't ask for it and they were going on the train with me back to LA, so they cooled by the time I got home). Unfortunately, my partners - who I got them for - said the pastries were only OK.
google avatar

Grace F.

Yelp
Got the Apply High-Pie and it was about $3, they're fairly small but served warm making it a great treat. The place is decorated very colorful and tasteful however the pasties were very standard and nothing too special about them. The service wasn't the best, not greeted and didn't seem the most friendly.
google avatar

Lucy M.

Yelp
We came by yesterday (Friday, 11/29) and to our luck, no line! We walked right in. The place itself is small, but cute. The pastries were so good!

Yelp
Decided to stop by High -Pie after a few trips to Oceanside we finally caught the store open. Very cute bakery inside the house . We ordered three high pies (blueberry , two apple) I was surprised on how small the pies were . Taste was okay nothing to rave about only issue was it took a while to get our pies because staff was in the back gossiping . I could see them from where I was sitting down in the bakery and there was no care into how long the lines were by the register and for people waiting to get pies . At one point no one was at the register for 10 minutes and we watched people leave .
google avatar

Troy T.

Yelp
So this place has a couple polar opposites working in its favor.. Firstly the Top Gun link drew me in, secondly pie?? Yes please. It's actually really small inside and so are the pies. Ordered a couple with the ice cream. I didn't understand it is a process to make them and get the ice cream inside. This can produce some degree of waiting you should expect; I think you can order ahead. The pies are small but really tasty, can't knock them. They come in a lollipop fashion and can be prone to falling of the stick. This is a nice little date spot across from the pier, go here.

Yelp
Mmmm that apple pie!!! On top of their perfect little bites of sweetness, I enjoyed visiting the "Top Gun House". We asked a few questions and got some facts about the home, previous location, and the actual side the home was filmed. Plenty of outside spots to enjoy your pies! Tip- take a bite while they are still warm. But, still good if not.
google avatar

Emma M.

Yelp
Charming place. Hints of Top Gun everywhere. Nostalgic . Loved the movie and love this place ! Perfect back drop with the beautiful beaches of Oceanside viewed from the patio. The pies were good but could be better if it was crispier. Would definitely drop by again if I'm in town . Great service as well.

Julie M.

Yelp
Staff was friendly (which is why I gave an extra star) and building was super cute but the pies were way overpriced and not good at all. They serve them upright in a box and they do not have the structural integrity for that. One slid into the bottom of the box, the other 2 flopped over and tore in half and they were so under baked they were difficult to eat and just a chalky tasting mess.

Yelp
High-pie is located inside the Top Fun House. The house itself is a great place to visit! It's part of the Hyatt Mission Pacific Hotel. Many tourists stop and take pictures. Even if you don't order high pie it's worthwhile to walk through the house. It is Victorian on the outside and inside. The smell of high pie is strong in here. There a counter to order. Service was OK. You pick up your order in the next room. There's seating in the porch or outside under umbrellas. I ordered the cherry high pie Ala mode and the blueberry high pie Ala mode. The ice cream is inside the pie as is the filling. All of that is on the stick. I find that to be unique! However, I found the ice cream to be lacking. I wish there was more. The blueberry filling was good. The exterior was crunchy and powder sugar adds to it. I just wish there was more. It was $5 which is OK.
google avatar

Yelp
If you like the movie Top Gun then this place is great to visit to see all the Top Gun decor. It's a small house that is completely decked out in Top Gun decor from the motorcycle out front to all the photos and artwork inside. Service is good however, the pies are expensive and taste okay.

Yelp
"Iconic Spot for Top Gun Fans" It's the original house from the 1986 movie "Top Gun" with Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis. The house was restored in 2019 and relocated one block down the street in between two newly constructed resorts. As a big Top Gun fan and SD resident, I had to check it out and it was great! Seeing the outside and remembering scenes from the movie was a great experience. After taking some pics, we went inside the house which now serves as a museum/ pie shop. I think overall as both a pie shop and landmark it was an ok experience. It was great seeing the house, but otherwise there wasn't much else to look at. The pies were good, flaky and buttery, but they weren't anything spectacular. I do like that they went with something different and made them mini pies. They had your traditional flavors like apple and berry, along with an ala mode version with ice cream inside. Bottom line: Go for the experience and enjoy a decent treat as well.

Yelp
Cute place- brings back memories watching Top Gun- cute little pies- peanut butter cookie wasn't very good. Service was friendly and quick! Definitely a must try just for the nostalgia.

Yelp
I want to thank the Oceanside Historical Society for saving this victorian home from demolition. The Grave's house, built in 1888, had a history before it became known as the "Top Gun House". This place is a nice little stop for some 'punch & pie'. Easy refreshment, simple treats, some cool photos on the walls and the rooms are nicely decorated. Kudos to Oceanside for keeping the Top Gun House alive and well.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
This is inside the Top Gun house . The pies are made fresh . We got blueberry , cherry & apple . The service was fast. The pies were smaller than I thought they would be & didn't have much filling . The pie crust was good & hot . They were good . It was a fun dessert to try .
google avatar

Yelp
The app GLUTEN DUDE reports this as a 100% dedicated gluten free bakery. From their own website, this is NOT a 100% dedicated gluten free bakery. If you have celiac disease, this is not a safe place to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
I wanted to check out High-Pie while in Oceanside and I had a few reasons, besides liking pies. The actual house is a historic Victorian house, nicely renovated that dates back from 1887. On top of it, it was used as a location for the original "Top Gun" it was the beach home of Kelly McGillis' character. A few layers of fun facts. They close at 7 pm (winter hours), closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The house is cute, it has nice seating outside, very charming, a bit of seating inside as well. Lots of "Top Gun" memorabilia for movie fans all around! I got a box of 3 pies ($9), one with blueberry filling and 2 with cherry. I thought this place might be a gimmick but the pies were great, flavorful, full of fruit filling, delicious. They know their pies here, I'd come back in a heartbeat for a sweet treat! They have season flavors, ice-cream, they sell some drinks as well. Popular place, a must to check out while in O'side!
google avatar

Yelp
Cool, pie/dessert place located at the top gun house. I've lived in Oceanside before and I know that it's been here, but for some reason I never bothered to come by and check it out. I got a whoopie and it was nice and soft and not too sweet. Service was ok. The lady in the front didn't look like she wanted to be in there, but it's cool. It probably gets tiring seeing all the tourist. It's located next to the pier and many other spots to check out as well. It's has very cool inside decor and a beautiful view of the beach.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Not good at all. Pretty sure it's microwaved. Almost no filling. Even the services is kind of lame.
google avatar

Shelly S.

Yelp
I'm not sure why the reviews are so low. Maybe they changed the pie recipe because I thought they were yummy. I'm no fan of Tom Cruz, or Top Gun, but I am a fan of themed commercial places so this was right up my alley. There is a free parking lot on the other side of the hotel. This is the perfect spot to catch the most gorgeous sunsets I've ever seen. Right across the street from High Pie is a pier with beautiful views. There is a hotel wrapped around the house but it's still a great place for pictures. I got the $34 pie flight with blueberry, cherry & apple. The pies are small (served warm) but to me it was a perfect balance of a crust to fruit filling ratio. The fillings weren't just sweet, the tartness was well balanced. I got the chocolate and the sea salted caramel sauces and I liked them too. My family also liked these so we will be back!
google avatar

MaDonna W.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this cinematic piece of history On our way to Piper restaurant in Oceanside. It's right across the street from the beautiful Oceanside pier It's a pie shop we did not take advantage of having one of their delicious looking pies or pie bites. We promised we would come back, but the atmosphere is so cool it's like a little beach shack with an open door inviting everybody to come inside it's dog friendly it's people friendly. It's so fun and if you hit it right at sunset like we did, it's amazing , we're coming back and we're coming back for the pie- because... " I feel the need, the need for pie"
google avatar

Jemiah J.

Yelp
High-Pie's building structure is undeniably cute and iconic, thanks to its Top Gun movie origins and status as a historic landmark. It's well known and a popular tourist attraction. However, the pie itself was underwhelming. I tried the blueberry and a strawberry hand pie. The dough was unfortunately underbaked. The service was good, though. While I love the decor and the history behind High-Pie's building, I wish the pies were of better quality.

Brandon M.

Yelp
As a fan of Top Gun, the experience is in checking out the house. The pies were a huge let down. Tried apple, strawberry, blueberry and cherry. Every one of them were average, at best. They tasted like they were reheated in a microwave and were swimming in oil. The filling was sparse and had no flavor. The size didn't justify the price. These things are tiny. Wasn't too busy but took too long for the order to one out (about 15 minutes). It was a cooler place to check out and take some pics, but I wouldn't be back.
google avatar

Christine G.

Yelp
I would give this 0 stars if I could. Ordered a cheery pie and but it was nasty, uncooked dough. The inside tasted like flavorless goop. I almost immediately spit out my bite.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Although every sign says pie a la mode... they don't sell them like that anymore. When I asked if they have ice cream they said "only soft serve on the weekends". Pie is ridiculously small, overpriced and greasy? It was oddly soft and crumbly. Apple pie was lacking any flavor. A toaster strudel is better. Asked for Carmel On the side ($2 for a small prefilled packet) but they messed up and gave me chocolate. It is the Hershey's chocolate syrup. One small bag for the price of a whole bottle at the grocery store? I'll pass next time. It's worth just taking pictures but not buying anything from.
google avatar

Caitlin W.

Yelp
This place is a must visit! SO cute inside and very nostalgic from the top gun movie! The theme inside is amazing and there is some outdoor seating but not a ton!
google avatar

Marylynn M.

Yelp
Ambiance is perfect! It's inside the Top Gun house which is right in front of the Oceanside Pier. It has really cute seats all around the house. I'd say that the pie themselves are not anything special but they are good in terms of adequate amount of filling and breading. I'd like my pies to be a bit crunchier but the food did satisfy our cravings. :) Parking nearby is scarce unless you go early or late but that's because it's right across the beach. There is parking behind the hotel for $5 all day though. The cashier was nice and pretty chill. I'd recommend this spot for the location and for the vibes!
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Film making history. We are staying next door at the seabird. After dinner took dog for a walk and walked into high-pie. No one there but us. Cool vibe of the house. Three pies and sat on porch and ate.
google avatar

Michelle O.

Yelp
2.5 stars This place was ok. You are definitely coming here just for the nostalgia of this being the Top Gun house that was in the movie. The pies are ok, but overpriced for the size you get. They are about the same size as ravioli's. They are soft but I felt the filling made it kind of mushy in the middle of the pies. I got the High Pie 3- pack for $9 (apple, pumpkin (their seasonal pie) and banana cream pie) they messed up and gave us the blueberry one so we were able to try that one too.) These pie's don't include dipping sauces so I added the Charlie's chocolate and the sea salt caramel dipping sauces. They were $2.00 each. Those dipping sauces were a waste of money. They didn't taste good at all. The Caramel sauce had a burnt taste to it. And the chocolate sauces just didn't taste good at all. I would not recommend those. I also got their fizzy lemon iced tea. My husband and I didn't like the drink. I spent $20.50 for everything. Overall, I would probably just get the pies from this place, nothing else. This pie shop does have a nice view of the ocean. So it was pretty relaxing just sitting there looking at the ocean and enjoying the atmosphere of being at the top gun house. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here on a regular basis.
google avatar

Anabel M.

Yelp
It's just the fact that your at top guns house. Yes expect a line. Pies all they had was cherry but if you want to try them all you must come early
google avatar

Alejandro P.

Yelp
After coming back from San Diego, my wife was excited to stop by and visit the Top gun house We found that they sell small pies. We tried the cherry, blueberry, and the apple pie. They were decent, the cherry stood out more in my opinion but I wouldn't try them again.
google avatar

Hayden L.

Yelp
The house itself is really cool. It was nice to see how the area has changed so much since this house was featured in Top Gun. The outside is classically Victorian and has a plaque outside about how it was in Top Gun. There's even a replica of the motorcycle Tom Cruise used to ride to Kelly's house in the film. The inside of the house is really decorated well and funky. Taking pictures of the outside and inside of the house is the best part of the experience! The service is super friendly. Unfortunately, the lowest part of the experience are the pies itself. They only have mini pies that are like mini hot pockets. They reminded me of the Apple pies from McDonald's, yet smaller and triple the price. Granted, they tasted a little better than McDonalds pies, but it wasn't as delicious as I hoped. They don't have pie in the traditional sense, only the mini pie pockets. I got the 3-pack with one of each: Apple, cherry and blueberry. I did take them out and ate them a few hours after purchasing. The server recommended putting them in the air fryer for 3 minutes. This worked well making the pie fresh and crispy. I just wished they were a bit more flavorful. It was an experience worthwhile to try once, especially seeing the house. Yet I wouldn't go back just for the pies.

Yelp
I walked by this shop when I dined nearby, but it was closed. The next time I was in Oceanside, I came to check it out. If you're a fan of Top Gun, definitely check this place out because they have some memorabilia here- it is also the actual house used in the set of the original movie. They sell these cute little hand-held pies, as well as coffee and kombucha. I chose a high-pie a la mode and a pack of 3 pies. You pay at the counter and then they'll let you know when your order is read on the other side of the counter. The pie on a stick was so stinking cute! I had to eat that right away since it came with ice cream. The pies are the perfect size and so enjoyable. They also have seasonal flavors and dips if you want some add-ons.
google avatar

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for so long! Went on a Saturday morning but unfortunately an hour before they opened so my boyfriend and I just hung around the area for awhile. It's placed right across the beach and pier and next to another cafe/restaurant. About 10 min before they opened, people were already waiting in line to take photos and wait for the doors to open. The outside is a cool photo spot given the significance of this house (top gun). The inside is also super adorable but nothing too special in my opinion. The staff was friendly and I got my mini pies in just about 10 min. They had several classic flavors plus a few seasonal ones like pumpkin, peach and cherry. I ordered pumpkin, apple and peach. All were great, but I think the pumpkin was a bit too runny for me like it could have been more firm. The other reviews saying they fall apart - it's trueeeee but I ended up picking it up super slowly to prevent it from crumbling. The addition of the chocolate spread was good. Good enough for me to try once and maybe take visitors but nothing too too special.

Yelp
Cue the "Top Gun Anthem"! It's Memorial Day weekend and I was trying to see if I could make it a Top Gun weekend. Top Gun Maverick movie night on the USS Midway - tickets sold out. Tour of Miramar? Not available. But I was able to hit up the Top Gun house in Oceanside on the way down to San Diego! Located smack dab in the center of the Mission Pacific Hotel across the pier, it's a cute blue house, restored to its original Victorian beauty, that is now High-Pie and sells fruit pies with Top Gun decor around every corner, including a replica motorcycle on the front lawn for photo ops. Yes it's a tourist trap, and the pies are expensive for what you get (3"x3" pies @ 3 for $9), but they're actually quite good. Flaky crust and yummy flavors. My family sat in the porch and enjoyed our pies and the view of the ocean. Service is quick and friendly. I tried every flavor available today. Seasonal flavors today were lemon and peach (my favorite). Cherry, blueberry, and apple are the regular flavors. The shop is wheelchair accessible with the wheelchair entrance at the back of the shop (look for the red door). No restroom on site but you can use the restroom at the hotel next door.

Yelp
I loved this stop while walking around Oceanside. I'm not big on Top Gun but it was cool to see the signed pics inside. The house itself is very cute. The pies are small but very tasty. You order at the front counter and then wait in the back for your order. It takes a little while which allows you time to check everything out. Fun quick stop.

Yelp
I have always heard about High Pie and follow them on social media and when I found out we had a parking space and were in the area of course we had to go check it out! The house itself is iconic and there are a few landmark signs around. As soon as you walk up towards the front door you see a replica of the cycle Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis famously ride along the Oceanside beach to the house. Lots of photo ops and interesting info around. Loved the pic of Goose and Ice Man inside where you pick up your pies. Pies are $3 each and flavors available today we're cherry, blueberry, and seasonal (lemon and peach). There are even dipping sauces and an ala mode option. We opted for a dozen pies which was about $34 and two sides of lemon curd ($2/each). We got a variety of apple, lemon, and peach pies. The apple pie was tasty when warm, the peach was so good (even cold) and the lemon was super tart and refreshing. At first it seemed a bit pricey but well worth the price. The crust is buttery and flaky and the hand held mini pies are stuffed with filling. The atmosphere is neat, there are a few seats indoors and plenty of seating outside. The staff was friendly enough and the wait time from ordering to getting pies and coffee was fairly quick. I would for sure stop by if in the area, it's a great local piece of San Diego history for sure.

Yelp
I knew this was a tourist stop so I was wary. My wife enjoyed taking pictures inside. Lots of photos from Top Gun. We ordered blueberry and apple pies. Yes, they are small. However they had great taste. I thought they were going to be greasy but they weren't. Crust was flaky. Fillings weren't overly sweet. You order in the front and wait in the back room for your order. It takes a few minutes so you know the pies aren't sitting around. It turns out to be a good choice for a dessert stop.

Yelp
Rude, childish, chatty, slow employees and average pastries. It's going to be a hard pass on this one

Yelp
I was finally able to make a stop at the Top Gun house (aka High Pie) in Oceanside. It is a cute little house nestled in front of a hotel and right across from the water. It was definitely recognizable from the movie and has a nice outdoor patio seating area. The inside is quite interesting in its decor, it was like Victorian meets top gun aviator. While there were some pictures of the movie, it would have liked to see a picture of the actual scene filmed at the house. On to the pies...I guess I should've read reviews and looked at pictures before because I was thinking of was a whole pie. Instead they are mini pies about 2x2 squares. They are a bit pricey in my opinion ($5 for 1 or $9 for 3). We went with the 3-pack and got the apple, berry and pumpkin. It comes in a cute 3-pack flight and while the crust was nice and flakey and the inside was pretty good, not the best pie I've ever had. I also would have liked to try their POG (passion orange guava) but they were out. Definitely come here for the nostalgia, see part of cinematic history and enjoy the beautiful views of the ocean.

Yelp
Cute little store built off the top Gun house. They sell little pies- apple, cherry, blueberry, peaches. They took it off with powdered sugar. It's more of an experience than a place to get a good price. There small pies, so don't expect to much. It's a cute stop for those who love Top Gun!

Yelp
Service is slow, service is all young people who could care less about getting your food ready in a timely manner. Hate the attitude. Not worth the wait. I can't stand when young people are getting paid to do a job and they can't offer it up with a smile and a great attitude.

Yelp
Came to visit during the weekend before Thanksgiving. Clerk at the counter doesn't appear to like her job much, was aggressive when asked what the seasonal flavor was (we don't have one) and when asked for a chocolate dipping sauce (we don't have any dipping sauces). They should probably update their menu.... The employees also forgot our order. No little box for the pies either. Felt very much like a bait and switch situation, for a concept that could be very good.

Yelp
Top gun pie!! This store is right by the oceanside pier. Original top gun house was a block away from this location. They relocated and remodeled nicely. I come to oceanside often, so I remember how it looked before. I am glad they kept it and remodeled! This is totally a tourist place. Not the place you wanna eat pie all the time since it's pretty pricy. However there are nice outdoor area to enjoy the ocean view and have a cup of coffee. Pies are nicely served inside the box. I love the presentation of the box. Pie... Apple was good. Other than that everything was too sweet for me. The size is small and I like it, but over priced. It was a line to order pies. Also it took about 20min. to get the pies after ordered. Pies came out nice and hot! Service was good, one guy to take order and a couple people working in the back. I thought it is a long wait to get pies, but enjoying the decor of the shop and taking pictures of outside, it wasn't bad. They have a motorcycle in front of the shop. Picture spot!! I understand the price comes with the unique experience, location and box fee. For those who loves original Top Gun movie, this is the place you must try!!
