Where To Have Dinner For Around $30 In Lincoln Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"After starting out as a food truck operation, Fat Shallot opened its first brick and mortar shop in Lincoln Park. This small counter-service spot's menu only has six sandwiches, and the most expensive is the Rueben at $13, and our favorite—crispy buffalo chicken— is around $10. You can pair your sandwich with a fun cocktail like a gin and tonic slushy, and still get out of here for well under $30. It's perfect for a quick bite or a casual dinner before catching a movie at the nearby Landmark Theater." - josh barnett, adrian kane

Chicago’s Best Comfort Food Restaurants | Eater Chicago

"This gourmet sandwich spot channels childhood grilled cheese memories into a creation fit for grown-up tastes with a version that combines melty Muenster, sauteed spinach, and caramelized onions between two slices of sourdough. It’s also available at the Fat Shallot food truck and outposts in Evanston, the Merchandise Mart, and Sterling Food Hall (formerly Revival)." - Ashok Selvam

Came in for lunch and got the Truffle BLT. It wasn’t too busy so my sandwich was made quickly. This BLT is FAT. They do not shy on any of the ingredients! The bread is thick enough to hold everything together, and did not get soggy from the truffle aioli. The bacon was crispy, the veggies were fresh and the truffle melded with the other flavors well. Things with truffle tend to be overkill, so I appreciate the fine balance here. The price was fair for the sandwich too and I would love to come back to try more food from here.

Service is quick and all of the employees are kind and efficient! Once got the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was so yum, today I ordered the cheeseburger and fries! I put the ketchup packs in the box btw, probs not super sanitary 😂

The food and service at The Fat Shallot has constantly been amazing. They are attentive, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the spicy sesame fries. The food might take a little long, but that's only because it's all made fresh and on the spot.

Decent place for a sandwich. Got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich- fairly basic, but very tasty and indulgent - the Challah bread makes it. Probably will try other sandwiches here down the road.

I truly never write reviews, but I have to warn others before they spend $15 on a sandwich. The corned beef on the Reuben was really dry, chewy, and sliced in 1/2” slices so every time you take a bite, you’ll pull out all of the meat in the sandwich. 2 stars because the bread and the slaw were good, but those are the only parts of the sandwich I could finish.
