Two Big-Deal Restaurant Openings to Know in Jersey City | Eater NY

"Perched on the marina at Liberty State Park with views of Manhattan, this revival of a Livingston steak-and-seafood concept is led by chefs Christopher Siversen and Marc Haskell, with Siversen drawing on experience from Maritime Parc and a recent stint at the Westminster Hotel. The menu leans into a robust raw bar and coastal preparations—hamachi crudo, seafood towers, and sushi rolls—then moves to starters like an iceberg wedge and mains such as halibut with oyster mushrooms, lobster fettuccine carbonara, and a selection of steaks. Erin Green oversees a cocktail program that mixes classic and signature drinks, while Jette Starniri has assembled an international wine list aimed at complementing both seafood and steak. The restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday and weekend brunch, with reservations on OpenTable." - Melissa McCart

Blown away by this place - not overpriced for the offering; everything is fresh and delicious. A rarity for a new restaurant around here but a welcome change. Stone crabs and raw bar offerings are amazing, steak is incredibly well seasoned, lamb chops are a must.Skyler GREAT hostess, so welcoming and constantly checking in for my birthday. Damien was wonderful, knowledgeable and attentive We were even given a Polaroid of our group and a thank you note. Incredibly pleasant surprise and this will become a recurring spot for us. Thanks to the staff for the lovely birthday night 🥰

We stopped the liberty landing Marina on our trip south, and walked right over to the restaurant. It offers outdoor seating an chic and well laid out dinner room. Food was on point! Fresh sushi bar made to order appetizers were quick and just enough. The main course was phenomenal. I had the seafood pasta. It had the most unique flavoring and texture that I’ve ever had with seafood pasta quite a unique experience please stop in and give this place a try.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding – A Must-Try! The Feathered Fox is truly a gem. This restaurant, formerly in Livingston, has found an incredible new home in Jersey City’s Liberty State Park, and the space has been beautifully renovated. The ambiance is sleek and welcoming, and the food is simply phenomenal. I first visited with a guest for dinner and was so impressed by the incredible sushi and perfectly cooked steaks that I decided to bring my entire firm here for our summer outing. The experience exceeded every expectation. We were treated with warmth and professionalism, and the food was nothing short of spectacular. Multiple members of my team commented that it was some of the best food they’ve had in a long time—and I completely agree. This is a destination worth seeking out. Five stars and my highest recommendation!

We had a fantastic brunch in The Feathered Fox restaurant this morning! The place is beautiful, with an outstanding view that made the experience even more enjoyable. The oysters and sushi were absolutely delicious, and the cocktail with rosemary was perfectly crafted. We didn’t try the desserts this time — but that just gives us a reason to come back! Our waitress, Bianka, was outstanding in every way: attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. She really enhanced our experience.

The best salad was good but not special. The butternut squash was good but not special. We shared the lobster Alfredo and linguini. The presentation was weird as it was in a bowl and looked like a casserole. There were a few tiny pieces of lobster in it. The sauce was tasty. Again not special. Those three dishes set us back about $80 not including tip. I guess our mistake was not getting the steak. We were not interested in steak that night. We will come back the next time we are in town since we are both fans of a good steak. Our treating of 3 is generous given the pricing. My recommendation is stick to the steak considering the other reviews.

Google
Really enjoyed my meal but didn’t thoroughly enjoy the service. We were escorted to our table by the person who checked us in… about 30 seconds later our waitress introduced herself then asked if we knew what we wanted - we didn’t even have menus yet!! So we asked for menus - then she didn’t come back until we waved her down a good ten minutes later… before she returned the host came to ask us what our names were because we weren’t checked in properly- meanwhile HE checked us in!! All this weird service didn’t leave me too convinced the food would be good but fortunately it was. The food was delicious but I’m not sure it’s good enough to venture all the way over there for that type of service again.

Google
Great Food, Great Service Great Atmosphere. So we were bummed when we saw they closed the original location because how much we loved the place. We were relieved when they announced they were opening up in a much more appropriate and highly upgraded venue. This was perfect timing for us to celebrate our 9 year anniversary here. Upon arriving the inside captures the comfort and style of the Livingston location and then improves upon it with the beautiful outside seating area. Now onto the food which is just as good if not better than the original location im glad to see the quality has remained consistent. My steak was cooked to perfection and my wifes pasta dish was packed with quality flavor. The drink menu was definitely brought to the next level as well everything seemed like it was fine tuned and everything we tried was on point and had its own unique delicious flavor profile. Andy behind the bar was very knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to talk to about the different cocktails. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was great it wasn't youre traditional kind but we loved the spin they put on it with the cake and ice-cream. Lastly for service Jonathan took amazing care of us and made our special day very memorable along with the rest of the staff. Everyone that came by the table was professional and had a smile on their face. They all seemed happy and took pride in their work which was nice to see. We will definitely be returning in the future. I implore anyone that reads this to visit and support this wonderful place.

Google
I eat at local steak houses Roots and Ruth Chris relatively frequently at least once per month, I wanted to switch up my experience so I searched best steakhouse in New Jersey and this came up. I had no clue how much of a treat I was in for, my father and I sat down for a 3 hour dinner that easily was one of the top meals I have ever had in my life. Sushi here is amazing, the Foxy and Lover Rolls are a must have. All meat products here are high quality and seasoned in a captivating way that will keep me coming back for more. Deserts are plentiful, more on the adventurous side but still amazing, all of their coffee options are also great. The mashed potato rings are a must have! Our waitress Cathy was outstanding in every way, very attentive, and overall a nice person. Everything else aside, and most importantly: the Feathered Fox is CONSISTENT! This establishment is a true hidden treasure. Compliments to the entire service team and chefs at the Feathered Fox.

Yelp
Food, ambiance, and device was amazing. The weather was on point tonight so we ate outside! Such an amazing experience! Our waitress, Bianca, was amazing!

Yelp
Came here for drinks and dessert on a Sunday evening. Outdoor seating was pleasant and it was not crowded. Servers were friendly and attentive. Drinks were fine for the price but the large sundae left much to desire. Limited menu but the dishes sounded appealing. May be back.

Yelp
A Must-Visit Culinary Gem in Downtown Jersey City! We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Jersey City's newest hotspot during its soft opening night, and we're still raving about the entire experience. With breathtaking views of the marina as the backdrop, this restaurant delivers not just on scenery but also on exceptional food, service, and atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable--special shoutout to our incredible waiter Johnathon, who was attentive, knowledgeable, and truly made our night memorable. The cocktails were expertly crafted, each one perfectly balanced and bursting with flavor--clearly made by a team that takes pride in mixology. Now onto the food, which was absolutely phenomenal. The sushi blew us away--each roll was a standout, but the Truffle Scallop Roll, The Feathered Roll, and The Foxy Roll were next-level in taste and presentation. Fresh, creative, and unforgettable. We started with a gorgeous spread of appetizers including the Gulf White Shrimp, Daily East & West Coast Oysters, and Broiled Oysters, all impeccably fresh. The Beet Salad was a refreshing, earthy complement to the richness of the seafood. The main dishes were equally outstanding. The Filet Mignon and Prime NY Strip were both cooked to perfection--tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The Peppercorn-Cognac sauce deserves its own spotlight--silky, rich, and the perfect pairing to the steaks. The sides were a highlight all on their own: the Classic Creamed Spinach was comforting and creamy, the Duck Confit Mac and Cheese was decadent and unique, and the Mashed Potato Rings were a brilliant twist--crispy, creamy, and unforgettable. To finish, the desserts were divine. We shared the Meringue Tart, Chocolate Cake, and a few others--each one was the perfect sweet ending to an extraordinary meal. We honestly can't wait to return, and without a doubt, this is now the best restaurant in Jersey City. Whether you're going for a romantic evening, a night out with friends, or simply to indulge in top-tier cuisine, this place delivers in every way. Bravo to the entire team!

Yelp
We dined at the Feathered Fox last night. The food was exceptional along with the ambiance. However, and unfortunate, the service was subpar . Our server seemed confused. My husband ordered a gin martini w a twist & was served a dirty martin. I was served a manhattan which I didn't order. They took my husbands drink back took out the olives & added a twist. Finally my husband took his drink to the bartender & explained what he wanted since our server could not get it right. When he received his martini the glass was half full. The cocktail was $18. Also, we waited quite a while for our drink order. When we received our bill we were charged for 4 wines (we had 3) & 4 cocktails again we had 3. Management you have a wonderful restaurant please train your staff appropriately.

Yelp
A few years in and still going strong. One of the best steakhouse experiences in Northern Jersey and can easily hold its own with any of its NYC compatriots. The fantastic service only adds to an enjoyable time here.

Yelp
Came here with some girlfriends and was pleasantly surprised that such an unassuming, amazing restaurant was hidden inside this hotel. The ambiance is equivalent to a NYC 5 star restaurant. The drinks and food was amazing and I cannot wait to come back here with friends and family to introduce them.

Yelp
The Feathered Fox is a solid 4.5, but I am giving them a full five because our waitress Amber and the pastry chef Ian made the experience more memorable. Made last minute reservation two hours before on a Saturday night because another restaurant fell through, and they seemed booked online. I then decided to call, and they were able to fit all 6 of us. To start we ordered the Essex roll, Spanish octopus, and broiled oysters. All three delicious, but the broiled oysters were the star of the night. Just perfect. For the entree we ordered a mix of different cuts of steak, the lobster fettuccine carbonara and Barnegat Sea scallops. For the sides we had the duck confit mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, and mashed potato rings (a must get also). Everything was delicious! For dessert we order the bread pudding, cheesecake that comes with pistachio ice cream, and a chocolate cake. When I say the ice cream was the most creamy and flavorful ice cream I have had in a long time. Cons: The sushi was ordered as an app but arrived right before our meal. Food took a while to come out. Scallops were cold in the inside and we were advised we had to asked for the temp to be fully cooked which I have never experience before. But I will still be back because the service and food was absolutely amazing from start to end.

Yelp
Food was decent but not memorable enough to go back - however the server was memorable though the service was fine she seemed like she really didn't want to be there I think during our whole time there she cracked one smile regardless it was all ok the ambience was nice it seems like a hit or miss type restaurant

Yelp
The Feathered Fox is a fantastic find! Although the restaurant is located right off Route 10, it's definitely easy to miss from the road since it is inside of the Westminster Hotel. Once inside, the decor and ambiance are absolutely wonderful. It's a great place to enjoy cocktails at the bar or a delicious meal in the dining room. The octopus starter was the best octopus I've had outside of my visit to Portugal earlier this year! The portion size is significant and can definitely be enjoyed as an entree. I loved the freshly baked bread that was served before the meal. It was so soft and warm! My scallops dish was also excellent, and if I had room for dessert, I would have absolutely tried the house-made sorbet or pineapple bread budding! Our server, Jesse, was also fantastic! I can't wait to come back for either a dressy night out with friends, special occasion or dinner date!

Yelp
Venue is nice, it's inside a hotel which was not expected. Well decorated and clean with a full bar. The food is okay. Octopus was delicious, sushi was ok at best, filet mignon was good, halibut was ok. The servers kept rushing to retrieve plates - barely had finished my second bite of the bread and the waitress asked if I was done. Everything is served family style which is nice but each course was missing utensils or plates or something.

Yelp
Came on a Friday night with reservation. Service was friendly and there were plenty of seating. It is located inside a hotel and there was plenty of parking. 1. Feathered roll - Big pieces and a good appetizer. Good quality ingredients also for their sushi. 2. Ribeye - Cooked more on the rawer side even though I ordered medium. Good taste and not overburnt or overpowering. Overall, good to try at least once. Definitely a pricey place.

Yelp
We were looking for something light, just appetizers & a salad.Stopped by The Feathered Fox & was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. The service was FIRST CLASS!!! I felt really special, catered too & couldn't figure out who was actually waiting on us because the staff "Eb & flowed" like in a musical play & they all seemed to work together & take care of all the customers. It was amusing to watch their interactions with everyone. I had a Caesar's salad which was one of the best I've ever had, so crisp & freshly made but simple. Also had a sushi roll that made my taste buds say "let's dance" :) Everything was delicious even the table bread :) The decor is like a sexy upscale night club & it would be a GREAT place to take a date for dinner or for the fabulous Sunday Brunch, great for Anniversaries, birthdays or any special occasions, to meet friends, they have a really nice bar & their wine selection is on another level & I don't even drink. But the atmosphere & energy gives off very warm relaxing vibes.I AM DEFINITELY going back for another dinner & then some.Didn't get to try their dessert but it looked delicious also. Btw...this wonderful location is inside the beautiful Westminster Hotel. Make sure to check it out.

Yelp
Absolutely love this restaurant. The vibes, staff, food and cocktails are phenomenal. We had the pleasure of having Amber provide us amazing service. She made great recommendations for our appetizers and dinner. We started off with pigs in a blanket with the most delicious mustard sauce. I got an order of the Barnegat Sea Scallops. If you like scallops, do NOT miss out on this dish. Cooked to perfection! My fiancé got a rib eye. it was cooked perfectly. Last but not least - the cocktails are divine. Their filthy martinis are scrumptious. I ended the night with an espresso martini made to absolute perfection.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated my 36th birthday here last week. This was my first time here, and overall the upscale ambiance and food were what we were looking for to celebrate a special occasion. Our server was very pleasant and did a great job, however I do feel despite having reservations and the restaurant not being particularly packed, the time it took for each part of our meal was on the slower side. I ordered a cocktail, and we ordered the garlic bread appetizer, two sides to share, and we each ordered a filet mignon. The garlic bread appetizer in my opinion was overpriced for the size you get. It was good, just very small for $12. I requested my filet cooked medium-well. Unfortunately, it arrived medium-medium/rare. I'm unsure if this was due to my request being misheard, if the chef missed the instructions, or was rushing? It was slightly disappointing, but wasn't worth sending back because we were more than ready to eat by the time the entrees and sides came out. We ordered a side of the broccolini and foxy fries to share. The foxy fries may have been my favorite, they were so good! I would come back just for those! It was not the restaurant's fault, but with this being located within a hotel, there were various people at the front entrance when we arrived. We had to walk through a cloud of marijuana on our way in because someone decided to smoke right in front of the doors, which wasn't a great first impression and not something we expected. This, with the slower service, overpriced appetizer, and my steak not being cooked as requested, made this a less than 5 star experience for me, but it was worth the splurge otherwise! I do recommend giving this place a try, the food and drinks are very good!

Yelp
Very elegant spot with good service and delicious food. Started with the Spanish octopus which was nicely seasoned and accompanied by a delicious sauce and crispy potatoes. Only drawback was it was slightly chewy. Then had the porterhouse which was fantastic - perfectly cooked inside, right amount of salt, great crust. Competes with NYC steak houses in my opinion. We shared the porterhouse among 3 people and it was still more than enough. Finished with the tiramisu affogato. Different from what I expected but was tasty and not too sweet. The ice cream is made in house and was creamy and delicious and the coffee ice that went over it was a unique take. My only drawback is I wished there was more tiramisu cake on the bottom. Overall, had an amazing time here and would highly recommend. It's definitely pricey ($17 per cocktail) though so not an everyday kind of spot

Yelp
One of my girlfriends and I came to this location for my PreBirthday outting. We had reservations for 7pm. When I arrived I noticed the place was located inside the Westminster Hotel. I found parking close and walked in. I was greeted by a very nice host, Jim. He lead me to where one of my girlfriends were. Shortly after the manager came to us and asked if we were eating and since we weren't he asked if we could move to the bar area since they had a full house. It was cool so we did. We moved to a table by the bar and Justin was our bartender and he was good. For my first drink I got the cosmopolitan and it was tasty. My friend got the grapefruit mojito and she liked it. My second drink was a lemon martini and that was good. My friend got hungry and ordered the burger and fries. I tasted both and it was pretty good. We definitely had a good time and I enjoyed my PreBirthday.

Yelp
I booked reservations at FF for 6pm on a Friday night to celebrate a milestone wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and escorted to the table, being the first guests in the restaurant, not including a handful of patrons at the bar. Given the restaurant was completely empty, we were surprised about being seated all the way in the back at a tiny table right next to a beam when there were beautiful tables for two right by the windows that were much more appealing. (And we were very well dressed, so there was no need to hide us in the back.) I expected the host to take my jacket (as he later did with other guests) but he didn't offer and I had to straddle it across the back of the chair awkwardly. While the food was tasty, well-presented, and seasoned (huge gulf shrimp, porterhouse steak for two, and many sides), the service was lacking. Although we noticed other waiters engaging positively with their guests -- highlighting menu items and special beverages, our waitress barely spoke with us and paid hardly any attention despite having no other guests to attend to. When transitioning between courses, it would have been nice to clean the table before laying out clean silverware on top of crumbs and drippings. We even noticed a hair on the new silverware. The dessert (chocolate cake with homemade ice cream) was absolutely decadent. Afterwards we would have loved to order more drinks (my husband was never offered a second beverage) but were just brought the check without even asking for it. Given this is not an inexpensive restaurant, we would have expected a higher caliber of service. This was an important celebration for us and this experience was disappointing.

Yelp
Didn't know this place existed in town until I saw it on yelp one day! Came here with a friend for a special occasion and we got the royal hunt which was delicious! It included oysters, ebi, sashimi, sushi, and a roll (foxy roll). The foxy roll was my favorite. It wasn't traditional Japanese sushi but I loved the lobster and ingredients in the roll. It was also strongly recommended by the waitstaff who were very friendly and helpful with our questions about the menu. Ive never had ebi (butterflied shrimp) until now and was pleasantly surprised how delicious it was - in a melt in your mouth kinda way. We also got the duck Mac and cheese - it was good but was a bit smaller than we expected. The restaurant's interior was nicely decorated in a trendy/upscale way with a touch of comfort elements.

Yelp
Wonderful, wonderful experience from start to end. We had a 8:15 reservation on a Friday night. It wasn't that busy for a Friday which I didn't mind at all. Parking was no problem which is always a PLUS. We were seated right away and the host asked us which table we preferred one in the a booth or by the window. I spotted an amazing table in the back but it was for a group setting. I said oh I'd take that one if it's available, I was joking but he went to see what he could do and they gave us that table! Immediately I was super impressed by how nice and accommodating they were. The good service did not stop there. Through out the night multiple people including our waiter checked in on us! I feel like the quality of service can be just as important as the food. I've been to restaurants with great food but absolutely horrid service. Food and Drinks The cocktails were extremely fresh and we had a chat with a waiter regarding the quality and effort they put into their drinks. My friend and I had a glass of champagne And a cocktail each I had - Jersey Fresh watermelon vodka, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, the bitter truth cucumber bitters, fresh mint $15 It was simply so refreshing My friend had - I tried it and it was also good makes me wonder how good are their other drinks! Grapefruit & Agave Mojito epsilon blanco tequila, aperol, honey syrup, fresh mint, ruby red grapefruit juice, sparkling soda $15 Food They give you bread and when I say I wanted 5 more I'm not kidding. It was so warm, soft, fluffy, everything you want bread to be. I go back just for the bread alone. For starters we got Little Gem Classic Caesar Salad mom's dressing, anchovy, reggiano, croutons $16 - my friend found it a bit too fishy for her taste but I thought it was an excellent Caesar salad Foxy Fries garlic, parsley $9 - this was a side but we got it as a starter, instead of ketchup they give this almost like tomato sauce dip and it's Mains I got two sushi rolls, apparently they get their fish from Japan! Talk about taking the extra mile for quality. Overall the sushi was great and you can taste the difference in quality for sure. It was super filling I could barely finish it. The Feathered Roll glazed spicy mayo, salmon, avocado, spicy tuna, crunch $22 The Essex Roll kani salad, crunchy, tempura, spicy tuna, jalapeno, spicy aioli, tobiko $17 My friend got a steak Petit Filet Mignon 8oz $46 We also got dessert It was a chocolate black out cake and we substituted the cherry ice cream for a ginger snap ice cream! And it was a good choice. We had a sample of the pumpkin spice ice cream and let me tell you, it hitttt. Overall the bill was about $200 which is expected for the quality and nice environment! The bar started to get busy by the time we left so it seems like a nice place to just grab a drink as well. They have a brunch that my friend and I will need to come back for a try! If you were looking for a new place to try with good quality food and cocktails this is the place for you.

Yelp
We made a reservation, when we arrived it was pretty empty but filled up By the time we left. Overall the food was very good. Lots of steak and sushi options. I wish there were a few more protein items for the non steak eaters. Servers were amazing and the husband loved the warm bread at the beginning of the meal.

Yelp
Tucked away inside a hotel is this wonderful quaint restaurant with an amazing meal awaiting you. Had i done the research I would've known this place was in a hotel and would've planned accordingly. Alas this was a last minute decision but also one that I saved for future places to eat at. The food was incredible, from the freshness of the sushi, to the tenderness of the steak to the amazing flavor in the steak sauce. The mac and cheese hands down best i ever had. Drinks, had those too and they were great! The service was perfect too. My only regret is not having time for dessert. Looking forward to returning on a really empty stomach with time for dessert!

Yelp
We came in here for a quick change after watching the kids all holiday break for a bite and drinks on new years eve. They had live music performer in playing beautiful songs. The ambience is amazing and their staff is very courteous and friendly. They are able to check in your jackets at the entrance. We got the old fashioned fox and Aperol sunset cocktails and they were amazing. For food we ordered the burrata, roasted mushrooms, Essex roll, and broiled oysters. All their dishes were flavorful and sumptuous. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice meal with amazing drinks.

Yelp
Stopped by for dinner last nite so our college student son could have steak. Nice restaurant inside hotel. Friendly staff n clean restaurant. Since there weren't many options 4 appetizer we had some from the sides. Had Brussels sprouts, beet salad, duck and confit Mac n cheese as appetizers which were good. For entrees we had the roast chicken, pancetta wrapped pork tenderloin n filet mignon n sushi. They were pretty good. The complimentary bread was good too. Topped it off w 5 layered chocolate mousse cake w salted caramel ice cream which we shared. Was out of this world.

Yelp
Went there for my mom's birthday because it's close to their house. Our server was great and honest. She made good suggestions and we had just the right amount of food. I was not sure about getting sushi from a non-Japanese restaurant but our waitress persuaded us to and it was great. The scallop came from Japan and it was one of the most quality sushi I had. Porterhouse was good, my parents thought that's the best they've had, they thought I was better than Ruth Chris which we had earlier this year. I'm ok with seafood but I must say the sea scallop was very good also. We had a good time there. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Brunch: The Feathered Fox started brunch 3 weeks ago. We were greeted by a very friendly staff, very welcoming and given the table requested. Our server was super sweet. We started with amazing Bloody Marys, delicious and a beautiful presentation. We also had oysters, very fresh. Now on to the entrees, they were both a big mess. I had the Fish & Chips. The fish was "fish sticks", cold in the center with very soggy batter. The French Dip was served with very minimal meat and served with cold Au Jous. The fries were the only enjoyable part of our entrées. I was so unhappy about the fish that I did complain. I ended up ordering a tuna club, it was very mediocre. I doubt we will return for brunch anytime soon.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The drinks are unique and really good. The food is GREAT! We had the tuna tartar, two sushi rolls, and Brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious, but the side of sprouts were my favorite. Service is good as well and the entire restaurant is decorated really nice.

Yelp
Fresh sushi shipped from Japan which is unique for East Hanover. It is expensive but definitely a good restaurant for special occasions. I had the scallop roll which was light and fresh. They also serve sangrias.

Yelp
This place is relatively new and I've heard such good things so I was so excited to try it and I definitely wasn't disappointed! First and foremost, shout-out to our amazing server Jessie who was super attentive and super nice. The food and drinks were also great. I think the best cocktail at our table was the berry basil limonada. The chili mango margarita didn't taste much like mango or chili so not my favorite. The martini was a hit if you like martinis. The food was fantastic. We started with the tuna tartare which may have been the best I've ever had (no exaggeration). We also got two sushi rolls: the lovers roll and feathered roll. We all preferred the lovers roll and the tuna on top of it literally melted in your mouth. We also got half a dozen oysters. They bring you 3 of each variety and both very delicious and fresh but they were a little on the small side. For the main courses we had a porterhouse for 2, petit filet mignon and lamb chops. Everything was cooked perfectly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The sides we ordered included the smashed fingerling potatoes, creamed spinach and duck confit Mac and cheese. Each one was better than the next. The fingerling potatoes had a garlic vinaigrette that added so much flavor. The Mac and cheese was decadently rich. I couldn't get enough of the creamed spinach. Definitely comparable to steakhouses like quality meats in NYC. We all really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Very happy we decided to go to Feathered Fox for our anniversary. We have eaten several times at Maritime Parc in Jersey City so we knew we would have a delicious meal and so much closer to home. We started off with a sushi roll, tuna tartare and a strawberry-something crostini. Very fresh and tasty and portion size was a bit larger than expected. We had Lamb Chops and Filet Mignon for dinner. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I suggest Horseradish Cream sauce on side to elevate the meat. As for dessert, the Five Layer Chocolate Mousse Cake was so good and rich. We had to bring some of this home as the portion was bigger than expected but were happy to eat the next day. Located in Westminster Hotel. We are happy to return again soon.

Yelp
Went hear for early brunch a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. We were literally the only table (they just opened), but the staff was not annoyed or apathetic like you would usually expect from a restaurant that is just getting going for the day. Food and service were top notch. Everything we ordered from the eggs benedict to the french toast was impressive, even for a foodie like myself. Definitely would come back again --- and plan to.

Yelp
For our birthday we took the family to The Feathered Fox in Livingston. Located inside a hotel on Route 10. It's a steak house so be prepared for a. Expensive but delicious night. Service is excellent and friendly. We started with bourbon and wine. The bourbon list is quite good. We went either Widow Jane and the Four Roses Single Barrell, both delicious. My Daughter got a house Sauvignon Blanc which she enjoyed. The Parker House rolls were delicious my only complaint was we wanted more rolls. So good. We had the seafood plateau for our starter. Gigantic shrimp and a selection of East and West Coast oysters. Fantastic A d so fresh. We shared 2 Porterhouse's for two. Beautiful presentation of a steak cooked exactly as we wanted it. Medium rare charred on outside (Pittsburgh). The 24oz steak was phenomenal. It comes with cippoline onions. We also had sides of Brussel sprouts and smashed fingerlings. The brussel sprouts were the fave. After that we were too stuffed for dessert. For a special occasion this was perfection. Highly recommend if you love a beautifully prepared steak dinner.

Yelp
A definite go to for upscale dining and the oenophiles. Even if you're not a fan of the upscale food scene you will be pleasantly surprised at the relaxed atmosphere of The Feathered Fox. Come as you are in your casual office attire and be prepared to leave extremely happy. Personally I came to try out their celebrated wine list and enjoy a nice pairing. I left with so much more. Their staff is knowledgeable about food and beverages but to be thoroughly amazed you have to seek out Rob C. Among the cognoscenti Rob is the wine whisperer. Being schooled in wine myself I am often interested in others opinions of great pairings. This man is the TRUTH! A quick bite of oysters and a glass of pretty flinty Gruner Veltliner, unexpectedly turned into a wonderful dining experience. The Spanish octopus with crispy potatoes and a light amount of a slightly tart yet creamy dressing paired with a Bernard Griffin 2017 Chardonnay (yeah I am not Chard drinker but WHOA!) No heavy oak on this one so it goes down super easy.  Next up was the traditional steakhouse ala carte offering of Lamb Chops with a Miso Butter. I added Brussel sprouts. The dark char on the outside is a bit misleading. I requested medium rare. When you cut into the decadent chop tiny delicate rivulets of juice greet your plate and OMG the taste is almost celestial. The Brussel sprouts were roasted with a combination of honey and togarashi, there's nothing like Brussel sprouts that are "extra fancy"! This was a tricky pairing for me but the Wine Whisperer recommended 2 choices. I went with them both.  Domaine La Ligiere 2019 Vacqueyras Classique for my sprouts and the Syrah Laurent Fayolle 2019 Hauterives Crozes-Hermitage Rouge for the oh so perfect Lamb. The nature and nuance of old vines never disappoint when paired with savory meats.  Dinner was perfect, but wait there's more... can't leave without dessert, it's simply uncivilized. I was introduced to my first Tokaj a nicely sweet Hungarian Aszu grape.  I've returned to the Feathered Fox on two other occasions each visit more satisfying than the last. Take a group of friends, take a date, take yourself and enjoy everything this lovely restaurant has to offer.

Yelp
Moment of silence for the complimentary bread that I inhaled in .2 seconds!! My goodness, the fluffiest and most delicious bread I have ever had-- literally melted in my mouth. Hours later, my husband are still talking about it lol! Bread aside, my husband and enjoyed dinner here for our anniversary and made a reservation through OpenTable. We were greeted and seated quickly by Jimmy. Our waiter was Jesse and he was such a delight. For dinner we ordered the lover and black dragon roll--absolutely divine. Quality and freshness definitely top tier. For the main, I ordered the scallops with a side of mashed potato rings; I also tried the prime NY strip. Everything was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The atmosphere is upscale and intimate. My only gripe is that it's FREEZING in the restaurant, a bit difficult to enjoy a meal while you're shivering and have no choice but to leave your jacket on. Overall great dining experience!

Yelp
Great service...the Manhattan was made to perfection. The food (sushi, pasta, Brussels sprouts, fries) were fresh and amazing. I wasn't crazy about the cod...pretty tasteless but everything else made up for it. I wish the menu was a bit more expansive and included salmon, red snapper and chicken. Wild boar and cod are interesting but limiting menu options.

Yelp
Really enjoyed every bit of our evening at the Feathered Fox. We had a large party and the restaurant was very accommodating both in planning and at arrival as we trickled in late. We did a pre-fix, which included an assortment of sushi (all delish) as well as awesome entrees, sides & dessert. My favs were the Scallops & bread pudding and of course the dirty.

Yelp
Sushi was delicious and fresh. We had the NY strip and petit filet and both were cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. The cocktails were very good. The sides that we had were delicious. Butternut squash, mushrooms and broccolini. Our server was great and overall service was wonderful. Ambiance was nicely lit, not too dark as some steak houses can be. Played good music and the bar area was fun.

Yelp
Highly recommend The Feathered Fox in Livingston. Love the fact that you can get both high-end sushi and Luger-quality steaks here. Best part is their wine list, which has an amazing selection at incredibly reasonable prices. Be sure to save some room for both their great side dishes and yummy desserts. Our server Jesse took great care of our party of four on a Friday night.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant last night. It was our first time here since it was changed from Strip to Feathered Fox Restaurant. The place has more welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive and all the food we've ordered was VERY GOOD! I've noticed that everybody works together to make the customers happy. That is really a plus! I will surely will recommend this place and planning to come back soon. Hopefully they will offer live entertainment in the future ( like once a week?) Anyway thank you guys for a wonderful evening! Yelp
The food here is absolutely wonderful. Leaving tonight on a sad note because I would give it 5 stars if I didn't see the staff struggling so hard to keep up with the demand of a packed restaurant which we realized was due to very poor management. Witnessed the manager lpudly berating staff (dropping f bombs) in front of everyone on our way out and it makes me wish I didn't pay what I did to eat there because the entire staff was KILLING themselves and hustling to take care of everyone, I am sure for a pittance. The bartender was alone and taking care of bar patrons as well as the dining customers. He was so pleasant and making amazing drinks but I truly felt bad for the volume of what he had to produce. Pretty sure he was getting some good cardio with that hustle. I feel bad in general for this review but I was just horrified at what the staff had to endure and think it should be acknowledged. Seeing them being yelled at just rubbed us the wrong way. It was my 4th anniversary with my husband and a dinner we very much looked forward to. While the food was some of the best we ever had, service was lacking and I dont ever complain about that because I understand a difficult job when I see one. I do think this was based on bad management. Our waiter was so inundated that I believe he couldn't do the job he would have liked to. Very nice man. I felt this had to be said. I hope something changes because the food is incredible, atmosphere is lovely and I hope they just need some fine tuning.

Yelp
Made a reservation and was accommodated immediately upon arrival. I sat down and reviewed the menu and I ended up getting the Spanish Octopus and the Feathered Roll. As a drink, I got the Chili Mango Margarita which was 10/10. It is a seasonal drink, head over ASAP. The Spanish Octopus was served with crispy potatoes, tomatoes, and feta cheese. The octopus was nice and tender and the combination of the food was excellent. I then got the Feathered Roll and the sushi was amazing! Great quality sushi for a steakhouse, I was blown away. I was super full but I did try the passion sorbet. The sorbet apparently is made in house by their chef and it was also very excellent. I can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
Came here for Valentine's Day and I had such a good time, real nice decor simple but nice. When we got there we where surprised that on a special night like vday they didn't have valet parking taking in consideration that it's a little walk to the front entrance, winter and located in a hotel. Food was good we had potato rings (not sure the name) but they where amazing! Caesar salad bomb, our filet wasn't cooked how we wanted But it was still good a little red for my taste but I ate it, fries and broccoli it was good too. My fav thing was my drink lol I had an expresso martini, also our waiter was pretty cool. So shout out to Jimmy doing his thing, over all solid 4 star cuz they also didn't have sprite !

Yelp
Food is very good and unique. Prices are on the high side. The bar and bartenders are awesome. One thing, it's too cold. Turn the heater on. I almost left because it was too cold inside.

Yelp
Nicely renovated space, great bar and a rather exciting menu. While one still has to walk through a drab hotel lobby, the wine cellar wall and large bar are a beautiful welcome into this renovated restaurant space. We enjoyed most of our dishes, including the offering of creative sushi rolls. Our party was sat at a corner table which sadly was impacted by the early sunset light and the restaurant shrugged the need for shades even though 4 guests couldn't even see across our table. Thank goodness for sunglasses which were worn until the sun set. There was a significant faux pas as a great bottle of champagne was ordered at the end of the dinner (with a guest getting up from the table to discreetly order such) and the server popped the bottle without the final guest (who ordered) joining. The table was not complete - how do you pop a celebratory bottle with a guest missing!! Overall, great bar with a wonderful bartender/creative cocktails, nice menu, pretty good food yet disappointing execution and sky high NYC top restaurant type menu prices. As we left, there were two burly bouncers guarding the door into the restaurant (what an odd way to depart a beautiful space and what a way to be welcomed in). Would need to try this again for a different experience.

Yelp
Second time here and second time impressed. Food and Drinks were amazing. Service is top notch. Amber our waitress was great professional and really personable. The cocktails are great too. After watching and speaking with the bartenders they are really using great stuff. They use all house made simple syrups, ingredients and top shelf liquors to craft great cocktails.

Yelp
The Feathered Fox Restaurant is located within the Westminster Hotel in Livingston. This is my first time coming here. There was an actual event going on within the hotel banquet hall so I had to park further in the back parking lot. There are actually a great amount of parking spaces available especially if you drive towards the back of the hotel. We had walked around the hotel and walked inside. As you walk into the hotel, you will see The Feathered Fox towards the left hand side. Once entering the restaurant through the double doors, the bar is towards the left and the seating is straight ahead. The lighting or ambiance is beautifully setup for an intimate dining experience. The decor, table and plate settings are exquisite. We were greeted as we walked in and assisted to the table. My son and I met up with family. Once at the table, we were provided the menu and cold water to drink. Water was perfect (and thank goodness not Tap Water)! We were served Bread rolls and butter served to our table first. Then appetizers consisting of Fresh Raw Hamachi, Wagyu and Scallops Sushi Rolls. Let me say... if you've never tried Wagyu Sushi Rolls.... This is definitely the place to have them... they were right when we were told they are "mouth watering"!! So delicious, I personally love scallops so the scallops roll was delightful and fresh. As for entrees, I ordered the Seared Scallops with mushrooms. My scallops were cooked to perfection... seared on both sides and glistening in the center. The mushrooms were such a great touch to this entree. My son ordered another sushi roll and it's amazing that all the rolls were tightly rolled. Not one piece collapsed and stayed in place. Rolls were definitely professionally done by an experience sushi chef. My niece ordered a grilled cheese but wow... so boujie... grilled cheese with grilled onions and French dip on the side. It was delicious. Bread was toasted and not burnt. My cousin ordered the pork loins and really looked beautiful. The dark brown sauce ... looked like some type of wine sauce or vinaigrette topped with the pork tenderloins. I believe it was delicious considering she completed her meal. For dessert, my son chose the baked Alaska... pumpkin and ice cream with caramel. It was sweet and the outside of this dessert looks like a merengue but was made with love. We ended it well with this choice of dessert and espresso to follow. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Service and food is definitely on par and divine. This restaurant is worth the visit. We received all our orders in a timely manner and food was still hot and cooked to perfection. We hope to come back here when we visit NJ again.

Yelp
The Feathered Fox opened on Tuesday of this week and you couldn't even tell. The food, the decor, the service were absolutely exemplary. We were totally blown away by our cocktails (I recommend the chili mango margarita) and the entrees were absolutely cooked to perfection and delicious (the dry aged ribeye was insane melt in your mouth)!!! Now with all of that being incredible, you wonder, how can they top that? The desserts are all made custom by a pastry chef that you can taste the passion in every single bite (my wife and I shared this amazing dessert called the baked Alaska that had a toasted marshmallow outside with a watermelon sorbet and cake on the bottom)! I highly, highly recommend that everyone take a moment to visit this place for a special occasion or a special night out!!! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Went here for my birthday recently and it did not disappoint. Ordered a vodka martini that was made perfectly - ribeye steak was also prepared perfectly. The people were really friendly and helpful - we had our 9 month old with us and we were accommodated well. Most importantly, our baby LOVED the food. I've lived in nyc for 15 years and consider myself a bit of a foodie and I feel like this place can hang with any of the famous nyc steakhouses. Highly recommend.
