"For a solid neighborhood restaurant in Richardson, try the Fifth. Its gorgeous enclosed patio with a roaring fireplace is a cozy spot to spend some time, as is its interiors with exposed brick walls. The menu of bistro fare made from scratch includes excellent chicken fried chicken, and a Rosewood Farms Wagyu short rib that is not to be missed." - Courtney E. Smith

This place is a hidden gem! We came in for weekend brunch and were a bit nervous about being comfortable on a Texas patio in the summer, but they have mist fans, swamp coolers, and outdoor AC units. We were so comfortable! Our waiter was John, and he was so great! He was very personable and gave us great recommendations. One of the best service experiences we’ve ever had! We never had a unfilled glass or to look for him if we needed something. 10/10 John! The food was shockingly good! I expected good food, but this was above and beyond. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly seasoned and battered. The other members of my party raved about the brunch burger and I thoroughly enjoyed the standard breakfast. The salad with the standard breakfast was so good, perfectly dressed and seasoned! Finally, the prices were great! Definitely less expensive than most Dallas brunch spots. We were already making plans to return before we left!

First time coming here and we very much enjoyed it. Will definitely be back! Rebecca took great care of us even though the restaurant was rather unexpectedly busy. I ordered a blueberry lemon drop, which I would definitely recommend. We had the blue cheese fondue appetizer, which was delicious. I ordered a wedge salad for dinner since I was pretty full after the appetizer. My husband had the prime rib sandwich. They were both tasty. There were several other interesting items on the menu that I want to try in the future.

Great fun place! Love the fireplace! We were in the patio and had a great time. They have plenty of heaters, so you will definitely be comfortable in the cold. The food is fantastic, the service is good. The salmon tacos are tasty. The focaccia is so good! We enjoyed everything we tried.

Google
Classy and chic atmosphere with dim lighting and many cozy fireplaces inside and outside. The menu is extensive and offers food for any craving you may have. I ordered the chicken fried steak which came with bacon gravy on a bed of potatoes and corn. It was impeccable. The portions were great, the craft cocktails were worth writing home about! Try it and you won't be disappointed!

Google
I came here on a Saturday for brunch and it did not disappoint. They have indoor seating and plenty of outdoor covered patio seating with fans! I ordered the avocado toast and it has got to be one of the top avocado toasts I’ve eaten. It was plenty, flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. I will be coming back soon!

Google
First time there and went for brunch on Sunday. The food was delicious! It may be my favorite traditional breakfast yet. The jalapeño cheddar biscuit, candied bacon, side salad where excellent. I asked for a side of gray as well. The breakfast potatoes and fruit fresh and tasty compliments. Service was good. We will be coming back for sure.

Google
Great food and atmosphere here. We went there for my daughter's birthday celebration. All the food is fresh and with great taste. Brunch drinks are ok.

Attentive service + delicious Thai crispy chicken + great patio with fireplace Lunch special Thai crispy chicken sandwich is delicious! I love the house soup comes with it. Lunch special includes drink and soda as well! Great deal!

Yelp
It's been a while since I have been here as the last two times, we didn't care for the menu. It's a good thing they change the menu often because last night was pretty amazing. All of the food we tried tasted so so good. The bartender was even able to make me a mocktail so I didn't feel left out in my group that had real drinks. Service was excellent. The patio was nice to sit on as they have plenty of heaters to keep you cozy while you dine.

Denise R.

Yelp
This is a great little place that has a nice bar area and awesome outdoor seating areas. Loved to see ramps into the restaurant which means it's wheelchair accessible. We started with drinks and it got the Fifth Spritz that is similar to an aperol spritz and very nice. We ordered the shepherd's pie fritters and they were so yummy. Highly recommend getting them. I had their burger with goat cheese and caramelized onions and truffle fries...delicious. The truffle aioli was so good. Service was good. A little slow but friendly.

Zad D.

Yelp
Overall the service was good! We were met on New Year's Day with friendly wait staff who were accommodating for our brunch. So the staff are the stars of this review. The food was pretty unflattering: - Chicken and waffles: [C-] fries chicken was really salty. Had to take the crust off to even be able to eat it. Waffle a bit dry. Eggs and bacon were good. - French press coffee was great!! [A+] I'd give it another chance for lunch or dinner. But today wasn't it.

Angela T.

Yelp
Lovely hidden gem of a spot to chat over good food and drinks. Our waiter was helpful and articulate with answering our questions about the menu. The food came out shortly after we ordered, and I'm happy to say that although we only ordered starters to share each dish was unique and delicious in its own way. Will be back soon to try out their entrees!

Glenna C.

Yelp
Love this place. Amazing food and great service! Can't believe it is just a little overlooked restaurant in a small neighborhood shopping center . GET UP. GO!!

Tommy C.

Yelp
I've lived in the area quite a while and haven't heard this place. It's a shame because it's so delicious. We started off with a delicious blue cheese fondue which was excellent. I don't even like blue cheese, but this thing was so good. My date got the Million dollar hamburger and I got the muffaletta. Both of them were just excellent. The muffaletta was probably one of my favorites outside of New Orleans. I would come back probably within the next week to eat more of their menu. They have a little bit of something for everyone. Whatever you do though, save some room for that crème Brulé bread pudding.

Joanna M.

Yelp
We had a sensational time trying out this gem in Richardson! The shrimp curry was delicious with a little kick and the bread pudding crème brûlée was the cherry on top. Loved the cocktails too! I had the blueberry lemon drop. The ambiance is nice and our waiter, Jordan was very helpful to assist us in navigating the menu. It was a nice night out!

Noelle M.

Yelp
Went here while staying in the area after seeing it recommended as best brunch in North Dallas in the Observer. Overall unimpressed--all of our food was mid, the service was extremely slow/inattentive despite being one of the few tables in the restaurant at the time, and the selections/combinations were missed in a lot of our dishes. A couple things that stand out with that in mind was my parfait that had so many little pieces of apple that it was impossible to eat the yogurt and the herb cream cheese was off... glad we found it in a pinch but wouldn't come back or recommend.

Cari L.

Yelp
The food was amazing but most of all, the service was impeccable. Tristan is great! He's funny and personable! We were celebrating my daughter's birthday, so we had a very large party and still Tristan was amazing!!

Esther D.

Yelp
The Fifth has become one of our favorite go-to restaurants with friends or for date night. The food is always good, the drinks are great, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The patios are comfortable even in cold weather. We've never sat inside because we love the patios too much, but it looks great too!

Liz G.

Yelp
You know how you find a place that is tucked away from the main drag where the food and service are both so on point that you want everyone to know about it - but then again you don't want to run the risk of not being able to get a table when you want it? That's The Fifth. I stumbled upon this neighborhood gem when I was on a search for great charcuterie boards in DFW; but when I looked at the menu, it was the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich that put this at the top of my "We've gotta try this!" list. We started off tonight with their calamari and it was one of the best calamari dishes either one of us have had. Crispy, full of fresh cherry peppers and crunchy bean sprouts and with that sweet chili glaze. We were fighting over that last bean sprouts on that plate. I was not disappointed with that French Dip, either. Serving it on focaccia bread was Segundo different, but nonetheless delicious! We'll be back!

Pam M.

Yelp
Came here to meet some girlfriends for dinner and what a nice surprise in Richardson! We sat on the patio. It was Thursday and 1/2 price wine night. They had a great menu to choose from. We started w the humus plate. It was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The service was perfect and we each ordered something different for dinner. My friend had the beet salad-- great choice I had the wedge w grilled shrimp. The shrimp were fabulous! Seasoned just right. I would probably get the dressing on the side next time it was a little heavy for me. I live in Plano and will be back!!!!!

Coleen R.

Yelp
The atmosphere was really nice. They have a nice patio where we ate. It says they have vegan options but they didn't have many, although they were very helpful in making accommodations and recommendations on what they could make for me. I love that they were able to accommodate for me! The beet salad was delicious!

Matt W.

Yelp
I've been several times for different services. I love the ambience during dinner service and Matt was attentive for our meal, the wagyu beef gorditas were delicious and very tender. Their smoked Old Fashioned is one of my favorites and presentation is better than most. Unfortunately this last time I went in my pork chop came out purple rare but Matt quickly took it back and I got a new perfectly cooked chop soon after. Even with a few mishaps their service is wonderful and the food is solid. Definitely worth a go

Millee A.

Yelp
Lunch menu was not that great . I choose the French dip sandwich for $22. The house made aioli Just did not compliment. Ice tea was a fruit tea . Should have stayed with brunch menu . Service wasn't bad . Just a lot better places . I really wanted to like it .

Molly S.

Yelp
Happy hour and dinner at The Fifth consistently impresses me. Whether I'm there dining alone or with a group, the food, drinks, atmosphere, and excellent service (always impressed by Tristan's keen attention to detail and welcoming helpfulness) make for an excellent experience. I highly recommend sitting out on the patio for an even better vibe. Everything on the menu is wonderful, but the short ribs and the salmon are five-star entrees. Cooked excellently every single time. Their cocktails are fresh and so tasty, and so are their mocktails.

Caroline Y.

Yelp
This restaurant was DELICIOUS! My boyfriend and I were in town for just a couple of days and I'm always on the hunt for a good restaurant. This place did not disappoint. We sat in the outdoor patio which had a lovely fire bit and bar area that was inside/outside. We had the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer and they were delicious! The peanut chili sauce was the perfect sweet spicy blend. My boyfriend got the burger and said it was DEFINITELY worth the price. I had the salmon and it was scrumptious! We also got a side of the bourbon glazed carrots and they too did not disappoint. If you're in the area, would definitely recommend having a meal here!

Daniel D.

Yelp
Brooke, John and Jane were absolutely amazing! The service is incredible and the food and cocktails were impeccable! They charged my phone! I mean who does that! I was out of town and concerned about getting back to my hotel. They eased my concern and allowed me to relax. I will be back tomorrow! Thank you for making my trip to Richardson a memorable one!

Devra L.

Yelp
Brunch for 10 yesterday to celebrate my daughter's graduation. Loved this place. Super welcoming, great food and fantastic service. Brooke took great care of us. I highly recommend the crab cake Benedict.

Amy D.

Yelp
So GLAD to find this restaurant! Visited three times this week. The staff is number one for me, and second food quality. The Fifth has both very close to perfect. I understand the menu changes, excited to try new items in the future!

Shelley F.

Yelp
This place has romantic date-night vibes. While the food was satisfactory, I don't see myself dining here often because of the menu prices. To start, we had the deviled eggs. The menu says that the deviled eggs have a rotating selection of flavors. Not quite sure what exactly they used for the deviled eggs, but I did notice a prominent cumin flavor. They were good but not my preferred flavor profile. The short rib meat on the arepas were very tender, but I felt like there was too much going on, so none of the flavors/ingredients stood out to me. As for my the Wagyu Shortrib, again, the meat was very tender, but I wish it was just a tad more flavorful. The mashed potatoes were rather liquidy, and the carrots weren't as soft as I would've liked. All in all, the food was like a 3.5 for me, but I'll round up to a 4 because our server was extremely nice and patient with us

Frank S.

Yelp
Great food and great atmosphere The back patio is amazing. They have made it so it is accommodating under any conditions.

Madeleine H.

Yelp
We love the fifth. Its one of our go to Richardson spots. If you are at The Wine Authority and call an order in they will sometimes be able to walk it over to you! Very nice staff and great food.

Jim V.

Yelp
We had a great brunch on a Sunday late morning in the courtyard area. Four adults and one four year old and one infant. The service was great with a very friendly waitress. We ordered a big variety of meals with everyone enjoying what they ordered. We will definitely be back.

Shamia B.

Yelp
Some friends and I patronized on a Monday evening. We enjoyed wine and appetizers which were fantastic. We had one of the best waiters ever I think his name was Tristen he made our visit enjoyable he was very knowledgeable and when the food was delivered he throughly explained each dish by which was very impressive because his doesn't happen period. He suggested great wines to us. I'm sure we will return to this hidden treasure.

David H.

Yelp
Cute place with good atmosphere and lighting. Fun bar and personable server. The brisket melt was delicious! Small wine list but something for everyone. Good prices. Will be back!

Patty W.

Yelp
Great food, drinks, and atmosphere!! everything is very reasonably priced and my friends and i had a great time at brunch. Mimosa carafe with many juice options. We all cleaned our plates, the food was so delicious. The restaurant has a covered patio with an outdoor fireplace for chilly nights. Servers were very attentive and helpful with providing recommendations and options. the manager stopped by to make sure that we were enjoying our meal too. I definitely want to come back for dinner and happy hour sometime.

Thu N.

Yelp
Absolutely love this gem! I am so happy I bookmarked a Yelp alert to check out Fifth Fireside Patio & Bar. This will be my new go to restaurant when I do not feel like cooking. Or, a place to meet a group of friends to eat and drink. I love their cocktails. I tried the Paloma and blueberry lemon drop, made with fresh grapefruit juice and house made blueberry syrup, respectively. You have to show love to a restaurant when they choose to use fresh fruit juices for their cocktails. Oh, and the Paloma was rimmed with paloma salt. Yums! It's the little extras that make patrons know that you care. I am not exaggerating when I say I've never had redfish prepared so perfectly. The fish was thick, tender and moist through and through, not just the center part. The sauce that it came with was also very nice. I was afraid I wasn't going to like it so I asked that it be put on the side. Next time, I'll leave chef alone. The shrimp and grits were also delightful. Shrimps were plump and fresh. Grits just enough richness but not too much to where you can't finish it. I can't wait to bring the rest of my family with me next time.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
If you want a restaurant for date nights that takes you out of the main areas with elevated foods and a rotating seasonal menu, this is the spot! We went for a date night and sat on the patio beside their outdoor gas fireplace -- it was perfect. The food is very high quality -- I got the Chicken Tikka skewers and my husband got the hamburger. My chicken was amazingly tender and the black lentils went great with the side of poblano cheddar grits we shared. His burger was massive and perfectly prepared to temperature. We got the blue cheese fondue appetizer and it was awesome -- if you like blue cheese, this dish is a fun one to share and actually wasn't overpowering with the other roasted components of the dish. If anyone wants good non-alcoholic cocktails, the bar also made a fabulous blackberry bramble that I enjoyed with my meal as I do not drink. They had a pretty solid selection of wine/beer/alcohol as well, and the bar inside was a nice vibe/aesthetic. Finally, the service was great! Attentive but not overly so, and they checked to make sure we didn't have any issues with the level of the fire beside us (we didn't). Overall, definitely ready to go back and try their brunch. This place is nice to have just around the corner and it's fun to finish up and walk across the parking lot to Sweet Firefly for ice cream to top off your Canyon Creek date night.

M S.

Yelp
Went for lunch and enjoyed the Reuben. Attentive service got us seated and out within 445 minutes which was great for lunch. Would definitely go back for dinner or drinks and apps. Enjoyed the deck with the fireplace although it was too warm for a fire. Would like to go it a little cooler weather.

Mary J.

Yelp
The name is funny. This is the fifth restaurant in this location. It has a wonderful outdoor fireplace on the original patio. The ambiance is great as is the food and cocktails.

Hannah C.

Yelp
Brooke, the bartender was so kind and fun to talk to, and very attentive. We moved to a table with Jordan P and he was absolutely amazing, taking special measures to make sure everything was gluten free for me. Also to boot the food was delicious. I wanted to order the entire menu. Everything I got was amazing. The elote and burrata salad were amazing. Great happy hour specials too!

Shawn F.

Yelp
Great service and amazing food. My wife and I love this place, it's been amazing every time we've gone.

Nick M.

Yelp
Came here on a double date with a coworker to celebrate career changes. The food was excellent all around and we had great service and good drinks. Live music was a nice touch, though now that I'm in my 30s I can't believe I'm out to say "but the music was a little too loud". Solid spot. Will be back.

Amber N.

Yelp
This cozy place has been one of our favorites for over a decade, when it was Marcus Cafe. I'm happy to say the owners that took over the space kept the charm and ambiance intact but upgraded the menu in the best way possible. Great wine and cocktails list, amazing appetizers, and a diverse menu with just the right amount of options. The Brussels sprouts were to DIE for. I could have eaten the entire appetizer by myself and called it a day. The outdoor patio is wonderful no matter the weather. It was 44 and windy outside, but the completely covered patio with heat lamps and cozy fireplace made it perfect. I'm already looking forward to a date night here soon.

Jules M.

Yelp
Very beautiful restaurant and the patio is gorgeous. The food was delicious and staff was great! It's a hidden gem, fantastic for brunch

Jordan G.

Yelp
AMAZING FOOD! The Brussels sprouts appetizer is the best I've ever had, and the chicken fried chicken is out of this world! GREAT SERVICE! They were very attentive, friendly (but not intrusive). Everyone there was helpful. We're definitely coming back!

Elle L.

Yelp
I can't give a long review because I was here for thr AMA event. TRISTAN IS THR BEST MAN WALKING IN THIS FACILITY. He has the best personality and very helpful. I saw him prepare the redfish...you better believ I'm coming back for that. Parking is crazy but easy if you pat attention. Someone's leaving. there's a patio, fire pit, inside and out, and so much beauty for Instagram photos. The location is everything...come see them!!

Bill M.

Yelp
In town on business trip. Probably my only visit here. The Berkshire Pork chop was the best chop Ive ever had.

Lauren G.

Yelp
Visited this place for brunch. We didn't have a wait. The service is really good. The chicken and waffle is good- the chicken was slowly flakey but still good The Brussels sprouts are amazing The mimoas are good Devil eggs- salty Blue Bonney drinks were also good I would definitely return to try dinner

Eric B.

Yelp
My wife and I tried this restaurant with another couple, and none of us had been before. The staff was great, as was the food! They had some decent wines and smoked old fashioner's if you prefer which smelled really good. We had a great couple of hours taking, eating and having a few drinks together in a cozy atmosphere. Indoor seating for us since the "feels like" temp was about 105F+. Maybe the patio will be fun in the late fall...

Lucy A.

Yelp
We went early on a Friday night and they could sit us by the fireplace (at least until 6 pm and then we would have to vacate the table for a reservation party!). The staff was friendly and helpful. It was happy hour so we opted for the wine choices Happy Hour and were happy with both the Sauvignon Blanc and the Cabernet Sauvignon. We had 3 apps, the meatballs, the deviled eggs, and the brussels. All delicious. We shared the High Society burger and I LOVED it. My husband doesn't like goat cheese, so was not loving it as much. I would go back and order other items on the menu next time! Highly recommend.

Catherine G.

Yelp
Good food, great ambiance, quality service. It's our go to spot and we love it! Date night and girls night or a quick lunch, it's got something for everyone.

Sarah H.

Yelp
The Fifth is hidden in the back of a cute shopping center, so it's a little hard to find if you're not looking for it. The atmosphere is super fun and relaxed with beautiful leather booths lining the back wall. There's a very large covered patio that was pretty full, as well. The crab dip appetizer was creamy and absolutely a must-have. It's a fun neighborhood spot!!

Gene R.

Yelp
My brother and I had lunch on the patio. It was a beautiful spring day. Our server was helpful and pleasant. We started with the burrata caprese salad. I had the steak salad. It was very nice. My brother enjoyed his burger. I would recommend this place highly.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Beautiful setting on the patio with fireplace. Food is delicious and the service very accommodating. A lovely experience.

Megan L.

Yelp
Beautiful, clean, perfect ambiance, always have attentive servers, and I've never been disappointed with the food

Sally B.

Yelp
Really nice indoor space and patio for dinner. Food is great! I have my go-to's.... But really miss the stuffed jalapeños!

Taylor N.

Yelp
Good service, but the food on the menu sounds really good..it just is not executed well, especially for the price.

Lauren C.

Yelp
We like the ambiance on the patio at the fifth. However, our second time there was a series of unfortunate events. 1. We had 630 res and weren't sat at our table until 45 minutes later. 2. I ordered the royale cheeseburger and prisoner wine and they brought out the wrong wine and wrong entree 3. The service to get our food and drinks were extremely slow. Luckily we weren't in a rush, but it's pretty ridiculous that our meals and service were both affected.
