"A luxury hotel a stone's throw from Piazza di Spagna and entirely dedicated to art. The terrace has one of those thrilling views that are only to be found in the Eternal City; meanwhile, on the ground floor, the Two MICHELIN Star Acquolina serves creative and refined seafood cuisine that showcases the Mediterranean by drawing on its ingredients, aromas, and traditions." - The MICHELIN Guide

The First Roma Arte

"How did it strike you on arrival? You could walk past The First Roma Arte and not really notice it was a hotel. It could be a gallery, a shop, or a design studio. Inside it is sleek and modern, with sculptures and contemporary artwork (available to buy) cheekily placed in every nook and cranny. Nice. What’s the crowd like?Anyone after a hotel that’s a little more interesting than your standard five star. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The Junior Suite is splendidly designed, all neutral hues, with bright pops of colour, like blue velvet sink-into-sofas, a decorative marble fireplace, and modern artwork by Italian artists on the wall. Smart design features, like a raised podium for the bed, make the room feel spacious, and the complimentary bottle of bubbly makes for a welcome touch. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The bed is king sized, naturally, with a smooth leather headboard. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bathroom’s total luxury, all Emperador marble and exotic Ortigia bath products. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? The Wi-Fi is excellent, and free. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.Be sure to check out the extras the hotel offers, like the Jewish Ghetto tour, or a cooking course with an Italian nonna. There’s also an optional treasure hunt, where a personal shopper takes guests to visit Rome’s artisans and their boutiques. The property’s Acquolina restaurant uses local ingredients to create fresh takes on Italian classics (fish with black truffle, passionfruit cheesecake), or head upstairs to Acquaroof for a Rome Roy cocktail – a heady mix of Scotch, orange soda, and vermouth." - Maresa Manara

We stayed at The First Arte Rome for five days in late June/early July, and the experience was truly worth it for many reasons: 1. The staff was exceptional from the moment we checked in until the end of our stay. 2. The housekeeping was impressive – everything in the room felt carefully curated and special. 3. The terrace in our room offered a stunning view of the city, and it was the perfect place to relax at night after long walks through Rome. 4. The restaurant and breakfast service – including in-room breakfast, which we tried twice – was outstanding. 5. The location was another highlight: many of Rome’s best attractions were within easy walking distance. Overall, I truly believe this is a place to consider when staying in Rome – and the rate is absolutely worth it.

If I could give this hotel 6 stars, I would. The service and staff are exceptional, from the concierge to the restaurant to housekeeping. Everyone was super friendly and entirely responsive to our needs. We had one minor hiccup with the A/C in our room - which turned out to be user error - and the staff went above and beyond to address it and even provided a complimentary bottle of champagne for our inconvenience even though the issue was our fault. Great location and great service.

Stayed for 4 nights and had a fantastic experience. I was upgraded to a beautiful suite with a jacuzzi, sauna, and a stunning view of Villa Medici — pure comfort and elegance. The hotel has a homey yet chic boutique feel, with stylish decor and warm service throughout. There's also a 2-star Michelin restaurant on-site, and the rooftop bar is perfect for sipping a spritz while taking in the panoramic views of Rome’s domes and rooftops. Truly a hidden gem for those who want a more intimate luxury stay in the heart of the city.

Beautiful hotel, Amazing, welcoming staff. Helpful services and very accommodating. Delicious breakfast on a beautiful rooftop terrace. The cocktail hour on the rooftop is also special. Special mention to Alex who went out of his way at the front desk to make my stay comfortable after arriving after midnight for checkin. the staff were top notch!

We overnighted in Rome in May and stayed at The First Roma Arte. The hotel was recommended to us by our travel service company, and it turned out to be a very good choice. It is a lovely small hotel, with modern amenities. The rooms are very functional, with large bathroom, walk in closet with safe. It is very modern and clean. There are restaurants on property, we used the rooftop bar, with a beautiful view of the city. The staff were very helpful, from check-in/out, handling of the luggage, to accommodating our special request for a shower chair. Everyone was pleasant, helpful, and efficient. It is very centrally located, literally one minute walk to a few restaurants nearby. We had a lovely lunch at one of the restaurants. We also requested Uber service from the hotel, and it worked without a hitch. Granted it is not cheap, but considering it's Rome, and we would definitely return and stay there again in the future.

Excellent service. Great location - walking distance to many historic sights and shopping areas. Very nice rooms and extremely comfortable beds. Highly recommend and we will return!! Very clean. Add the breakfast to your stay and dine on the roof top. The roof top bar is also an excellent end to your day!

Amazing hotel with attention to detail everywhere. The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The whole place is spotless everywhere. The perfect location to see everything and as well as the superb rooftop terrace for breakfast, aperitivo or dinner there is also the unmissable Aqualina Michelin 2* restaurant. We had an incredible experience with knowledgeable staff and warm service. Again nothing was too much trouble to make your experience memorable. Cannot recommend the hotel and staff enough.

Google
From start to finish the First Arte Roma is a top tier hotel in Europe. The personal coordination before you arrive to the personal attention and apertivos when you arrive from your journey to the hotel. The staff is warm and welcoming, and happy to remind you they can provide anything you need 24/7. The location is perfectly situated in the heart of Rome, but just off the main road so you get to choose when you want city life. Only a 15 minute walk from just about everything except the colosseum or Trastevere, but those are 12 minute cab rides. The views and cuisine at the rooftop restaurant are superb and the two Michelin star hotel restaurant Acqualina is a must for foodies. The rooms are large, luxurious, and with high ceilings, not your typical EU hotel room. We had a suite with a sitting room, which they upgraded upon arrival. We will definitely return to this hotel or try one of Pavilion Hotel’s other properties in Rome. First Arte is a must stay for those who enjoy superlative service, comfort, and location.

Yelp
Easily tops my list of one of the best places to stay in Rome! I was in Rome a couple of weeks ago and stayed in a nearby hotel that was similarly priced but neither the service nor the room quality was as good as Hotel First. The service here is impeccable. Upon arrival, I was offered a drink (water or sparkling wine). In addition, I was offered a seat at the check-in desk. The staff, Guilia and Anna, were friendly and attentive. They immediately helped me with restaurant bookings for the next two nights. I was also quite happy with my hotel room, which was stylish and well-appointed with two sitting areas, large walk-in closet and a large bathroom. Amenities included a complimentary bottle of cuvée and cookies, luxurious soaps, shampoos, hand creams, bath salts, and robes. There's also free WiFi. A substantial breakfast is served each morning and costs 30 Euros/person.

Yelp
One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever been to. The decor was so beautiful in both the hotel and the rooms and I especially loved their huge marble bathrooms. They shower and bathtub were sooo perfect. The hotel is filled with very cool art and so are the rooms which are Very cozy and clean and spacious! Went on a vacation to Rome and was excited to stay here! Only 4 stars though because their staff was kind of off. We had asked them to do a couple of things for us such as buy tickets to places, dinner reservations. And they forgot each time. We asked them for a couple of breakfast recommendations around town and they couldn't give us a decent one. Also our room was beyond freezing every day. The a/c wouldn't turn off. Which was terrible because the weather was cold as well. Besides that the hotel is fabulous. With an awesome roof top bar and super chic. We didn't get a chance to eat at their restaurant but it is a michelin 1 star restaurant which was pretty cool.

Yelp
Awesome hotel! Location in heart of all the action. Service was excellent in both the hotel and excellent restaurant and rooftop bar. Room amenities, top of the line. Air conditioning was a bit of a challenge, but fresh air at night was pleasant. Evening turn down service, delightfull. Art work throughout hotel adds interest. We chose this hotel for the white serene ambience.

Yelp
I don't know how Adam found this joint but it was definitely one for the books. If you are looking for an amazing spot to sip on an expensive cocktail, while enjoying one of the most amazing views of the city, then head to The First Hotel, a rooftop bar just north of the Spanish Steps and a hidden gem. You might pay 15 euro's for your cocktail but you will feel like you are on top of the world while snuggling on the plush couches and watching the sunset over the Roman Skyline.

Yelp
We stayed here for 3 nights during New Years Eve. Honestly we would have never stayed here if it weren't for a random name similarity to the Arts Hotel in Barcelona. Someone in our group made a huge mistake. Once here there was no way to find an alternative hotel due to the time of year. First the positives: The hotel is modern, white walls, blue velvet furniture and real art works litter the walls and hallways. The location is strolling distance from many landmarks like the Trevi fountain, Piazza Poppolo, Spanish steps and a 20 min walk will get you to the Altare della Patria from there you can walk to the Coliseum in 10 minutes. Going to Vatican with a cab takes no more than 10 mins and if the permits I am sure you could walk there too. The staff is helpful, professional and speak English well. The upstairs patios and decks and bar are lovely during spring and early summer I am sure -- in the freezing winter weather they are useless of course. The location is central very near the Piazza Popola. The bathrooms are spacious in the jacuzzi rooms and beautiful. There is a whirlpool tub with jets built into the full sized tub. The beds are great. Pillows are great. Towels are great. The hotel is quiet at night and one can sleep well and get a good night's sleep. I never woke up once during the night and I am a very light sleeper. Now some negatives: The rooms have no view unless you are on the 5th floor. Keep that in mind. If you are given a jacuzzi room, run away, they are overpriced and smaller and have awkward steps throughout the room which to me seems like an insurance nightmare waiting to happen because of a sleepy patron taking the wrong step in the dark and falling. If you want the jacuzzi filled (it's empty) you pay 100 euros per day. Keep that in mind. The breakfast has only two options, a continental breakfast and a complete breakfast that comes with a breakfast dish of your choice like pancakes, French toast or omelette. You can not just get a plate a la carte. The breakfast buffet is a sad selection not worth the 30 euros. Breakfast was not included although Savoy in Florence had it included for half the price per night. My tv didn't work by I didn't call into have it fixed either. Who watches TV in Rome?? No time!! There was no iron or ironing boards in the rooms (welcome to Italy). But when I request one, I got a super duper ironing board and what looked like a hefty and new iron delivered promptly. This does not always happen in other hotels. My free wireless did not work due to the wireless hub in my room being broken. I just plugged in my laptop instead. Then last day I plugged the wireless hub back in and it started working just fine. Perhaps someone dropped it before. The rooms are cramped and overfilled with furniture making it hard to move in the room. I took the liberty to move some furniture around. The heating will not turn off. If you turn it off, in a few minutes it will come back to life and heat the room to an insane scalding 27 degrees Celsius which felt like 30 actually. I kept turning it down and it kept resetting back to 27. This was a huge annoyance until I figured out I can open a window and cool the place down and then close the window and as soon as the heating kicks in drop the setting to 24. This kept things somewhat cool for the rest of the night. We paid an insane price of 800 per night for this hotel. I didn't even know the price as I had not made the booking. Even given the time of year this room is not worth more than 500 a night in my opinion. Maybe Rome is really this expensive this time of year. If so mea culpa. Overall probably it is our mistake that we ended up here. This is the kind of hotel that charges 380 euros for a new year's dinner per person and then turns around and charges extra for the water that you drink during that meal. You do the math.

Yelp
What a great way to start our time in Italy. Our stay started with a bit of a hiccup. As part of my rate I was supposed to get a car service pickup from the airport and it didn't show up. After a quick call to the front desk it was all cleared up and 20 minutes later we were on our way. Agata at the front desk was very sorry for the trouble and it sounded like it wasn't the hotel's fault. When we arrived to check in we were immediately greeted and our bags were quickly taken. Check in was quick and friendly. It was great that our room was ready even though we were at the hotel long before normal check in time. After a long flight and the car trouble, this was really appreciated. The room itself was very nice. We had booked an Art Suite, but I believe we had been upgraded to what's listed as the Jacuzzi Suite. Definitely a shame the weather was a bit rough since we couldn't use the terrace much during our stay. The view over the city was beautiful and the time we could spend out there at night was great. The bathroom was comfortable and had everything we needed. The main room had a comfortable sitting area with plenty of room and seating to relax after a long day of exploring Rome. Throughout the room there was plenty of interesting art that really added that something special to the room. Breakfast was served every morning in the restaurant and was a great way to start the morning. Everything was delicious, fresh and replenished often. It's a shame we came just before the spa and gym are opening inside the hotel, because we were both wanting a good workout after all the Italian food. But, the staff is friendly and wants to be there to help make your stay great. The rooms and hotel are clean, safe and quiet. Overall we both really enjoyed our stay at the First hotel.

Yelp
The hotel was fantastic. The service was great. The grounds are very well maintained, we enjoyed our stay immensely. I have waited to write this review because I was hoping for a different end to my story. After our amazing stay in Rome, we boarded our flight and just after take off I realized that I put on all of my jewelry but left my diamond pendant necklace in the bookcase next to the bedside table. I was packing up and KNEW (100% positive) I put it there momentarily. But in our rush to leave I forgot it. When we landed we quickly called the hotel, no one had seen it. I really hoped it would turn up. It did not. I didn't mistakenly pack it either, unfortunately. Sad ending to an amazing trip to Italy.

Yelp
Awesome hotel. Right near Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish steps. Easy walking distance to Via Del Corso shopping and lots of local restaurants. Great because you are near so many places but you are on a quiet side street. Some other hotels are near the action but probably too near. Suite was awesome, and people at the hotel were great. Breakfast was included and was perfect, meats, cheeses, eggs etc. Loved this place and would definitely stay here again. Boutique hotel, was wonderful. Also had Nespresso in the room, huge plus. Has a rooftop deck and even though you pay 20 Euros for a drink, the view is worth it.

Yelp
A lovely hotel, great art on the walls really unique. Staff are very welcoming. The rooms are definitely on the small side but done nicely. Roof top area is amazing. Drinks pricey and charging for coffee pods in the room is a bit cheeky. They should be standard for the price you pay.
