27 Best Things to Do in the Florida Keys

"Even if you're not a seafood lover, you will get a new lease on life after one bite of the mahi Matecumbe at The Fish House, one of the last spots that still buys from local commercial fishermen and filets all fish right on the premises." - Travel + Leisure Editors

10 Restaurants Perfect For A Day Trip Outside Miami

"Drive Time: 1 hour and 15 minutes A trip to the Keys always sounds like a good idea, until you remember that Key West is like 23 hours away. Alright, not really, but it’s still a longer drive than we’d like it to be. Driving to Key Largo, however, is much more manageable. And one of our favorite places there is The Fish House, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. You come here to eat a lot of fish, maybe have some frozen drinks, and definitely eat pie. The dining room also has a bunch of string lights and puts you in a sort of tropical Christmas mood." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea

The Fish House Key Largo - Review - Key Largo - Miami - The Infatuation

"If you're driving to Key West, The Fish House is a great stop to make if you're stomach is starting to make noises and you want a little preview of the kind of seafood that you can expect to find when you arrive. It's a cute spot, with a dining room full of string lights that put you in a sort of tropical Christmas mood. But you're coming here to eat. Get some conch salad, oysters, and a blackened mahi sandwich. A frozen drink and some pie isn't a terrible idea either. photo credit: The Fish House" - Ryan Pfeffer

The Florida Key’s 14 Best Restaurants - Eater Miami

"The first stop on any Keys road trip, the Fish House is close enough to the mainland that South Florida locals can get the Keys experience without going too far. The family friendly atmosphere embraces the casual “Keys lifestyle,” offering a bevy of seafood like yellowtail snapper, mahi mahi, grouper, Florida lobster, stone crabs, and the conch salad, which is a favorite on-the-go choice." - Mary Jo Almeida Shore, Olee Fowler

Google
4 stars instead of 5 because it cost me $37/4 strips of fried fish. Yes...it was delicious and the beans & rive had good flavor Definitely fresh caught snapper was used. The price goes up $9 if you select mangrove snapper over mahi mahi. Loved the decor on the walls. Service was good...it was 11:30 am on a Friday.

Absolutely delicious meal! Top 3 seafood experiences I've ever had eating seafood coast to coast. The fish was fresh, amazingly seasoned (blackened) swordfish and shrimp. The Scallops were hands down the best I've ever eaten, so tender and buttery it's worth a visit back from where ever you live! Tried the crab cake and crab stuffed mushrooms, both fantastic! Got the recommendation from the tour guide on our airboat tour and can't thank them enough! Service was on point too! If you're in the FL Keys, make a stop by for the best and fresheat Seafood around!

Delicious Seafood and Great Atmosphere! I absolutely loved The Fish House in Key Largo! The seafood was incredibly fresh and flavorful—some of the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was fun and laid-back, perfect for a Keys dining experience. Friendly service and great portions made it even better. I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!

Google
The food is outstanding as well as the service. Our server Eddie (Eduardo) was excellent he has been working there 20+ years. We had New England Clam Chowder and Conch Chowder both were delicious. Our apps were the Stuffed Mushrooms with Blue Crab and Conch Fritters they were very good BUT a must have is the Stuffed Mushrooms they were beyond amazing! Our entrees Blackened Snapper Sandwich and 12oz Crabmeat Stuffed Florida Lobster Tail once again both excellent BUT the Lobster Tail was Epic! For dessert of course we had the Coconut Key Lime Pie who ever came up with this dessert deserves accolades it too was outstanding. I highly recommend The Fish House we live in Florida and this was a day trip to Key Largo. This will be a permanent stop everything we visit the Keys. Thank you Fish House for doing it right

Google
The Oysters were large, and delicious. The Conch chowder tasted great. I would have easily given 5 stars, however I was given a price of $15 when I asked for the cost of a dozen oysters; I ended up ordering two dozen and it turned out they were $30 per dozen. Again - the Oysters were great. The staff were very friendly and attentive. However I ended up paying twice as much as expected. Regardless, I will be back next time I’m in the Keys!

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Stop Gem in Key Largo — Heart, Flavor, and History All in One Place! We’ve been coming to Key Largo for years (it’s our favorite U.S. destination for scuba diving and sunshine), and The Fish House is a non-negotiable stop every single time. But this last visit? It was next level. I ordered the Mahi Mantecumbe and asked them to blacken it — WOW. That kick of seasoning took an already iconic dish and turned it into an explosion of flavor I’m still dreaming about. The fish was perfectly cooked, the flavors layered and fresh, and honestly… it was the best meal I’ve had in the Keys yet. But what really sealed the deal wasn’t just the food — it was the heart. As we were ringing out, we noticed a photo on the wall of a nearly 1,000 lb tiger shark caught back in the ’80s. The man at the register proudly pointed out that it was his dad in the photo — and it quickly became clear we were speaking with the son of the original fisherman and founder. What started as a lighthearted joke I made about how I bet he had been running that register since he was four - turned into one of the most touching moments of our trip 🥰. With a grateful smile and a humble heart, he shared how his father didn’t just raise him in the business — he gave him the gift of purpose. A deep love for what he does, and pride in the legacy he carries. It was the kind of exchange that sticks with you — simple, sincere, and full of heart. He shared a brief but deeply touching moment that left my heart so full. You could feel the gratitude, pride, and love he carries for his family’s legacy — and it reminded me why we love places like this It’s more than just a restaurant — it’s a piece of Key Largo history, run by people who genuinely care. If you’re visiting the Keys, don’t just go here — make it a tradition. We already have. 💙🐟

Google
The food was excellent. Came out fresh and quick. This is a popular place and they don't take reservations. We were sitted immediately around 5:15 for 2. You have to try the Key Lime pie.

Google
Best fish we had while visiting the Keys! We split an order of the Hemingway, which was the yellow trail snapper, lightly breaded, with a garlic basil butter sauce on top. So delicious! We got the red potato and broccoli on the side and an order of the hush puppies. Also, the food came out incredibly fast. It's a very tight space, kind of like eating on a boat lol. All in all, we would come again. Service was also really great, too.

Yelp
Such a Great Find! We will be back when we visit Key Largo again. The patrons rave and recommend. The wait staff have been there for 30+ years as well. Shout out to Reuben - a gem of a waiter! Everyone is happy and everyone is having a great meal with great service! Highly recommend. 5 stars

Yelp
This review is specifically for their key lime pie. When I researched best key lime pie in the keys, this place came up. When I walked in, this place was slammed. I asked the manager may I please order 2 pieces of pie. I asked if he knew which pie. He looked at me, laughed and said yeah. I got my key lime pies and brought them back to the hotel and ate it on the beach. They were freaking amazing. Large fluffy meringue which had sweetness to it and the zing of the creamy like portion. The crust was graham cracker which was also amazing. I'd come back to get more !

Yelp
Great grouper and halibut from the locals here in the Keys. Good service, busy place. They make it happen. Side dishes were not that great. Reasonable prices.

Yelp
Drove an hour and a half again to eat the delicious Cracked Conch, sooo good! Delicious as always, except more expensive, but everything is these days.

Yelp
My friend invited me for an early bday lunch. This place brings you back to the old 90s vibe that we miss ! The menu was varied with various catches of the day. I ordered the salmon grilled with Hemingway sauce on the side. It was delicious. My friend then surprised me with them singing happy birthday. They bring out a massive fish with a candle and take a photo for you to take home I loved the experience. The food was spot on. So yum and gives you a different unique experience . The service was excellent. I will definitely come back again !

Yelp
We came here because of Diners, Dine-ins, and Drives. The best dish was the lite fare of mahi-mahi prepared matecumbe. It was the best food we have had our entire trip in Florida. All of their seafood is fresh and daily caught. Immediately when you sit down, they have unique paper place mats that are really cool. They brought out our food very quickly in about 10 minutes or less. The linguine was decent, nothing special. All of their seafood options, the drinks, the salad and the sides (hush puppies, coleslaw, garlic bread, and fries) were spectacular. Their menu was extremely informative about history, preparation, styles, and more. Their menu was also very extensive on its options. The vibe is very nice, with cool decorations, helpful staff, and low lighting. One of the best places we've been to eat at in all of Florida.

Yelp
A solid and popular seafood restaurant in Key Largo. Great selection of fresh fish, including yellowtail, snapper and grouper. You can't make a reservation here, but you don't have to wait lol they move tables pretty quickly. Very popular spot really love the indoor ambiance. You have two choices for sides you could either have corn on the cob, coleslaw, and a starch like french fries or potatoes. Or you could have black beans, coleslaw, and choice of a starch. Really enjoyed by yellowtail snapper prepared Metacumbe style. This is the house Specialty the way they prepare it. With tomatoes shallots just so delicious! I really thought it was a great meal. They also have a very big parking lot so you could always get a spot here. They also have some outdoor tables which are really nice even for a drink if you're waiting for your table. Recommended for a seafood restaurant in Key Largo.

Yelp
Being in the Keys I was determined to eat some fresh fish, and on our way back up we stopped here after seeing the good reviews and being recommended by some friends... glad we did. For starters we were told the conch fritters were a must and after having them, we agree. They are perfectly breaded and fried. Not greasy, no overwhelming amount of batter, just enough to give that nice crunch but taste the conch and enjoy it's true flavor. Also really liked the kick the horseradish added to to their cocktail sauce. We were also recommended to get Matecumbe style fish. My BF had the grouper like that and it was very flavorful. I wanted something more traditional so ordered the grouper baked stuffed with crab. The fish was fresh, flaky, and the crab meat, delicious! Unfortunately they did not have hog fish that day so we will have to go back to try it. But we did not leave without ordering dessert and must recommend the coconut key lime pie.

Yelp
We arrived a little after 5:30 and by the time we left there was a long line. I'm taking off a star bc it is small and dark with no view insight, & when I'm on the keys, I'd like a view. I ordered the shrimp scampi over rice ( or pasta.) it was delicious, with nice size portions. I don't like either rice or pasta and I should have asked to just leave the rice off. The slaw was delicious as was the 1/2 ear corn on the cob. No bread with the meal My husband had the shrimp and scallops with THE most tender scallops we had eve had! We also shared a large bowl Of the lobster bisque- delicious!!! And we split a slice ( huge) of key lime pie. The keylime was creamy, but I like mine with wayyyy more tart!

Yelp
Whoa!!!! I've been waiting to visit this place for about 3-4 years after seeing it on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Well worth the wait. Every bite was packed with deliciousness that I can't possibly describe. Absolutely recommend the food in the pictures! Sheila and Kasie were amazing bartenders. The place was packed and very busy, but these two ladies didn't bat an eye as they made great drinks with a smile. Try the Key Lime Margarita if ya don't believe me! Ambiance was great. I sat at the bar and had a great meal. The smell alone would make you hungry! I will be back again! 100% guaranteed! Thank you for an amazing meal!

Yelp
The Fish House Restaurant just off HWY 1 in Key Largo is this very ornate shack; that I absolutely loved! All of the paintings, photos, tchotchke and other souvenir's were a tribute to the sea. That hit me down to my soul. As for the for the food, it was really good! I had a Cobb salad with blackened shrimp that could have been the best Cobb I've ever had. Every ingredient was measured perfectly, so each bite had the egg, bacon, shrimp, lettuce and everything else come through perfectly. We started this lunch extravaganza with a Fried Conche plate with two great dipping sauce. The food was as good as the service and atmosphere. The people I was with all ordered different seafood fare and all loved it. The staff working here were a hoot. Funny, gregarious and efficient was there tool of trade. I completely fell in love with this place.

Yelp
I finally made it back to fish house. The first time was a long time ago and I didn't eat seafood as of yet. So to go now to one of the most talked about seafood spots in South Florida was a good day. We popped in about 3pm which was perfect. They don't take reservations so I would have dreaded going at the dinner hour. We got a great booth right away. There were multiple people over right away with drinks waters and suggestions. I reached out to some different friends that I knew loved the spot and ordered from their recommendations. We started with the fried conch. It couldn't have been better. Fried to perfection, not oily and still very tender. We followed with 2 different dishes. She got the stuffed grouper and I got the grouper served Matecumbe, the house specialty. It was delicious. The tomatoes and capers accentuated the white fish perfectly. The beans and rice were excellent as well. I took the coconut key lime pie to go so I can't advise on that yet, but it sure looks good.

Yelp
AMAZING! Kara is a terrific server. She clearly knows a ton about the menu and the fish being served. We were both so impressed today. The food. The ambiance. The menu. It is all so good. So much to look at on the menu. Lots of options for any budget. The yellowtail today was amazing. I got it as a fresh fish sandwich for $20. It was flaky and moist, perfect portion and came with a side. I got fries. My husband got the Stone crab claws appetizer a half pound of medium sized clawed. So so good. He also got the conch fried appetizer which was delicious. The ceiling decor is something to look at, the interesting jellyfish lights and flamingo lights. I thought the video panel near the bar is near caus it looks like you are looking out a boat window. Best kept secret in key Largo. Come here for lunch or dinner - you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Let's start off with saying, wow what a busy place, but worth it. Had to wait about 40 minutes before being seated, which I believe is normal on a Friday night around 7pm, but they get you in as quick as they can. Wait staff was right on the mark. Sat down, someone came by to get drink orders and within 5 minutes, drinks on table. Waiter was there immediately to take our order and helped with a few suggestions. Appetizers out within 5 minutes after ordering and they were absolutely mouthwatering good. Hit the spot. Main course: usually get my grouper fried but wanted something new and I was not disappointed at all with my choice. Grouper perfectly grilled, my new way of getting Grouper. Hubby got the Shrimp & Scallops Scampi, he didn't say a word after the first bite, he just kept eating! Honestly, rekind of crazy loud, but it's that friends/ family enjoying themselves while eating great food atmosphere. Definitely be back here when we visit the Keys!!

Yelp
A must stop whether in Key Largo or enroute to KW. Highly recommend the fish DIP. Also had the lobster bisque, and for a real treat the lobster ruben. Service was amazing

Yelp
Interesting place, was packed so I'm assuming the seafood is great. I only had a salad but husband had a snapper sandwich and said it was excellent. The inside has lots to look at on the walls

Yelp
This was a miss for me and my family. We went based on the recommendation of a local working at our resort. First let me get the positives out there: fun memorabilia covers the paneled walls and Guy Fieri has given his stamp of approval. We were able to walk right in on a Friday night at 6:00 pm and they have Prosecco by the glass! My husband had the mahi mahi prepared in the Hemingway style and said it was very good. So why the 3 stars? We were seated in the hallway which was like a noise tunnel. So loud! And there wasn't much room between the back of our seats and the wall, this is where the wait staff passed by as well as incoming and outgoing customers. That's uncomfortable for the people who are seated as well as those passing by. There were four of us and we wanted to try an appetizer. We asked the waitress how many stuffed mushrooms came in an order. She stated two or three. So we ordered two orders of stuffed mushrooms. When they arrived we saw there were 4 sizable mushrooms per order. This was unfortunate and cost an additional $18 I believe. My step father ordered the ribeye with red potatoes and asked for it to be done medium well. Immediately when his meal arrived he noticed it was served with french fries instead of the red potatoes so he alerted the waitress who brought the red potatoes out although she didn't even attempt the slightest apology for the mistake. Next he cut into his steak to find it was red and bloody. Not well done. He didn't want to send it back but I went ahead and kindly mentioned it to her. She was crass, didn't apologize but said she could go throw it back on the grill. She seemed almost annoyed with us. She also seemed very hurried each time she visited our table. I asked if they were really busy, thinking that might be why she was so rushed, and she said it was terribly slow. Sweet corn was water logged and tasteless but edible with butter and salt added. Anyway good fish yes, but the overall experience was lacking for us. Wishing we would've gone with his 2nd recommendation which was Snooks on down the road a bit.

Yelp
Long-time fan of The Fish House (grew up in Miami and this was always our go-to place in the Keys). It's right next to John Pennekamp State Park so you can spend the day snorkeling or diving and then come here for dinner. The seafood is always fresh (literally off the boat the same day), the drinks are top notch, service is always fast and friendly, and the ambiance is quirky and fun. You will not regret it.

Yelp
We ate here twice while we were in the keys -- Mahi matecumbe style was our favorite! We also had the key lime pie and I had a nutty Irishmen coffee -- great spot.

Kim D.

Yelp
The best food I have had in a long time. Service was great, employees were helpful and friendly. Food was the best we had on our entire trip. My fiance' said he would fly down just to eat there.

John H.

Yelp
service - very good food - meh Host, server, busser - very good - very attentive. Ordered the fried clam strips and fried shrimp. fried shrimp was over cooked and hard. fried clam strips - there must have been 50-60 small pieces and a few medium sized, also kinda hard. I should of asked for a spoon to eat. Wish I took a pic to show ya. living in New England for many years, there is no comparison. you know when you order fried clam strips in many new england fish places, you grab a clam strip and they are, most of the time, as long as your finger. I guess guy fieri didn't eat the fried clams or shrimp. Had to try this place, but will move on.

Yelp
Great place for my first vacation meal in Key Largo. Everything we had was amazing! I had the stuffed shrimp and there was NOTHING left on my plate when I was done. You get a lot of food for the money and everything was so fresh. Make sure not to miss out on the hushpuppies and fish dip - you will thank me later! Ordering from the bar while you are waiting for a table isn't the easiest process. There isn't a lot of standing room and you feel like you are in the way the whole time. But the drinks were tasty and we were able to enjoy them outside while we waited for our table.
google avatar

Tamara L.

Yelp
We had a great meal here. The fish is so fresh and the service is excellent. My favorite things we ordered were the stuffed shrimp and the hush puppies. The key lime pie is light with a yummy meringue topping.
google avatar

Kristine Z.

Yelp
Amazing service and wonderful food! We really enjoyed the appetizer trio with the smoked fish, dip, shrimp ceviche served on crackers. The smoked fish here is really fresh and savory, highly recommend! The mussels with garlic bread were decent but too rich. The matecumbe style fish was quite fresh and a nice break from heavier preparations. The tomato mixture was good on rice and beans too. Our fish trio had swordfish (dry), salmon, and cobia (?) which was pretty solid but also too rich. Finally, the fried shrimp was large and fresh but the ribs were just ok. The key lime pie had a nice toasted meringue top but the filling was way too sweet and didn't taste like lime.
google avatar

Micheal M.

Yelp
The service is quick and friendly, the food is outstanding and the prices are great! My wife and I wanted some great seafood on our trip, this place was recommended to us by a local snorkel tour guide liaison. We highly recommend this place! We will be going back tomorrow as well. Apps: Crab stuffed mushrooms (amazing) Hush Puppies with honey Main: Mahi (wife had their house specialty with tomatoes on top) I had the jerked style, both were great! She had the house white wine that paired perfectly with Mahi. Dessert: Key Lime Pie! Best key lime pie thus far...also, notice the Cuban vibes? Their expresso is amazing, just be ready for a jolt!

Yelp
Great stop for dinner coming out of The Keys. Clam Chowder (very creamy) and broiled seafood Trio were both delicious. Big portions, definitely enough to share if you want to! Didn't take pictures because everyone else has done a great job Energetic -maybe even loud atmosphere. They welcomed everyone like we've been friends for years. Nightly recommend!

John P.

Yelp
Two of us just had dinner at the Fish House and it was fantastic! The food is so fresh and outrageously flavorful. We had stuffed shrimp and stuffed grouper with blue crab. Both entrees were off the charts. The service was top notch - timely yet not rushed. The scallops wrapped in bacon for an app was fantastic and excellent key lime pie for dessert. I would eat there every night if I could. I would recommend highly!

Yelp
Freshest seafood I've had. Service was fast and attentive despite how busy it was. We love coming here.

Yelp
I had the most memorable dinner here over the weekend. Our waitress/bartender Casey was incredible and so helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. They made me feel very special on my birthday! We sat at the bar and ordered the chilled trio appetizer, matecumbe yellowtail, shrimp and scallops key lime and key lime pie. The trio appetizer is a must! Everything was so tasty. Smoked fish dip was hands down the winner. My matecumbe was a 10/10. The fish melted in my mouth and the flavors were refreshing. I could eat that dish everyday! My bf ordered the shrimp and scallops key lime, which was a decadent meal. The scallops were enormous! At the end of our meal, they came out with a fish and a birthday candle, a guy playing the harmonica while the staff sang a song, took a picture of you with the fish and printed it out! They even treated me with a key lime pie that was amazing and rich! I can't wait to return here. I had such a great time. Food was outstanding and the staff were so knowledgeable and friendly!

Yelp
This is hands down the best seafood restaurant I have eaten at while in the Keys. The Matecumbe Snapper (our fish of choice) was delicious. It was cooked perfectly, the sauce was so good...the linguine with garlic and butter (grilled shrimp added on) was simple but good. There was a large portion of sweet shrimp, the appetizer we ordered which was also shrimp wrapped in prosciutto and basil was very flavorful. The coconut key lime pie was epic, not too tart, the toasted coconut was the perfect touch. All seafood in the Keys is expensive, this is the first time in a while I thought it was worth it. Our servers were very attentive as well - the pasta with shrimp was such a large portion I have leftover for lunch.

Rose P.

Yelp
Brought in our catch of the day, and they were able to cook us up a dinner Hemingway style. There was a small wait because this business is very busy but the food was well worth it!

Jeff B.

Yelp
Fresh fish with best ambiance in Key Largo (that I found). We sat at bar so services was right there...

Yelp
Had high hopes based on reviews. Service was great however food was very average to below average. Ordered stone crab claws which were the highlight. Both the yellowtail snapper and grouper (both fried) were bland and not hot. Personally wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Best coconut shrimp I've ever had it was so delicious. The service was quick and friendly. It was such a cool restaurant I loved the decor.

Yelp
Thanks to Guy Fieri's TV Show: Diners Drive-ins and Dives I had found such a welcoming rustic homey spot only about an hour drive with some scenic views along the way down to Upper Matecumbe Key Largo! I decided this trip on an unexpected whim after getting my car serviced and Jan 3rd's weather was begging to be driven down here for early dinner, then catch a sunset at another location elsewhere and then pick up some other goodies nearby to be taken home! Guy Fieri's show filming here for the popular item, the "Fish Matecumbe", seemed very enticing and certainly did not disappoint whatsoever! They serve the whole filet of one of three fish you choose from. I chose the Yellowtail for it's soft and moistness which to me blended oh so well in this happy tongue pleasing flavors of capers, finely small diced tomatoes, shallots fresh basil, olive oil and lemon juice all presented on a hot silver plate to keep it warm longer. Savoring each bite in between a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Oh my god, happy delicious times. Appetizer: Oh but I digress and skipped over the amazing appetizer! Thanks to other fellow reviewers I had chosen the Freshly smoked fish dip (smoked on the premises) which included a little kick of Jalapeño. It's so devine especially with the accompanying buttery and slighty salted crackers to dip with! Presentation on a fish shaped dish was pleasant to see. Alas, I did not want to fill up on appetizer so quickly had it boxed before the main entree arrived. Back to the Main Course: When ordering dinner, you get a choice of two sides vs. 1 side for lunch and smaller portion of fish. I highly highly recommend the boiled potatoes with corn. The boiled potatoes were of so soft and simple and lent itself to help take pieces and dip it into the fish plate getting savory flavors. The corn? It's kinda tricky as it's a small cob which requires using a fork on one end and holding it with a hand on the other end and after buttering it is wonderfully prepared with small niblets of corn that didn't get stuck in-between teeth (; ^D. A thoroughly enjoyable meal. Ambience: Inside it is down to earth, rustic relaxed charm of the keys, very welcoming staff! It did have an autographed poster of Guy Fieri on the wall amongst other item as you walk in. I sat at the nicely decorated bar and chatted it up with Joey and his assistant which Joey knows his stuff and works super fast!. In fact, he was on that TV episode with Guy Fieri while in the kitchen! And if you take a look at the tv to right edge of the bar you might just catch a glimpse of him. LOL. Joey was really pleasant and informative the whole evening. I also got to see other staff greet arriving patrons, and was nice to see. Outdoor ambience has a few tables if one wants to sit outside and hear the traffic. Go by, but that's not my cup of tea. Pro Tip: Yes they serve both lunch and Dinner, but dinner begins at 4pm. Get there before the main dinner crowd or there will be a wait time to be seated. Luckily I arrived at about 4:30pm and was happy as a clam. By almost 5:15pm people started showing up and when I left around 5:40 it seemed to be jumping. Also, to find this place look for the HUGE billboard sign on your left as you drive south! Parking is a breeze on their gravel parking lot attached to the restaurant. Cheers! I'm a fan and definitely will be back!

We met with really wonderful friends and had the drunken shrimp, and tuna nachos for appetizers. Everything was Yummy! Fish & chips, conch dish with rice and beans on one and potato salad on the other. Pasta with garlic oil and 2 shrimp, crab cake sandwich with fries, and Cobb salad with grilled mahi mahi fish with a mango dressing. Servers were very attentive, and served up a special surprise for my son for his birthday. That came in a whole lobster with a candle in his butt, a ding from all the waiters and a slice of key lime pie for his birthday. He also got a memento picture to prove he got the lobster. They definitely made his day. He wants to celebrate there again next year maybe even next week.

Yelp
All of these great reviews and we were so disappointed. I ordered the mahi-mahi with the lemon sauce and received a huge piece of fish with the sauce, which was good, but I also received three red boiled potatoes that weren't fully cooked and one piece of corn with no seasoning. My friend ordered the grilled mahi-mahi and rice which has no seasoning she also had the undercooked red potatoes and the piece of corn. Overall it was very disappointing.. waitress was nice guy greeting everyone coming in was great, decor was cool but the food was just a huge disappointment. We were here on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Yelp
Stopped here on the way back to Miami from they keys - so good! Worth every penny! Loved the hush puppies! Never had them with honey and now I will never not have them with honey. Hubby had king crab - best he's ever had. And they had large glasses of iced tea with a lot of ice and someone stopping by to refill it often. I got the fried shrimp - amazing! Don't forget the key lime pie! I almost forgot to get a pic!

Yelp
This establishment has to be one of the best in all of the Keys. The best food I've had in a restaurant in a while. Well worth the 30 minute wait. From top to bottom this meal hit it out of the park. The No Wake Zone, Coconut Key Lime beer was just to my liking. Then I got the Matecumbe Mahi Mahi which was cooked perfectly with tomatoes and capers. I didn't think I would enjoy it but wanted to try what they were known for and it did not disappoint! My mom got the Black and Bleu and it was just to her liking as well. Then we got the coconut Key Lime Pie, which I was hesitant about because I'm not a fan, but it wasn't too sour and just perfect. The energy, ambiance and service were also just perfect even with the wait. Highly recommend if you're headed to the Keys!

Yelp
The service was fabulous between Monica and Ivan , they tag teamed our table of eight tonight. They were very sociable, communicable, and easy to talk to and advise their recommendations. Drinks came out so fast, appetizers just as fast...and we needed them. All drinks were on point, Monica's recommendations were on point for all apps, meals, and drinks. Everyone had a taste of appetizers from fried, steamed, oysters, to the tuna tartar, salads, and calamari were all eaten without complaints. Shared between all , and enjoyed by all. Meals : Largest lobster tail did not disappoint, key lime shrimp and scallops , and the scallops normally 4-5 up north...12 scallops here were more then enough to satisfy the appetite and expectations of all at the table. Desserts, Keylime and Coconut key Lime pies were awesome to clean the pallet and fulfill your appetites for the evening. If you want to bring your family &/or friends somewhere with a fun atmosphere, you should check this place out. You wont be disappointed with the size, the portion, the prices, the service, or the atmosphere.

Yelp
Good food fast! This restaurant feels very cramped inside with barely enough room for the staff to get between the tables with feeling like you've got to duck or shift out of the way. But the staff is efficient and work quickly to make your visit a good one. The place was already packed when we got there around 6:30pm on a Monday! A good sign people like eating here. My husband ordered the fried shrimp basket, I ordered the peel'n eat shrimp and left room for key lime pie. Food came out quickly and was perfectly cooked. The key lime pie is the best in Key Largo, home made, and just the right balance of tart lime and creamy sweetness- order this! The decor is fun and the place is hopping, so arrive early.

Yelp
Best seafood restaurant i've been at. Every time i come on vacation to visit key west I MAKE this place a top priority visit. The freshness of the seafood is astounding. I always come for the snow crab and fresh oysters. There's so many other varieties of foods on the menu. But I also had the full rack of ribs, fried calamari and finished it off with a slice of chocolate cake. The attentive service along with the atmosphere really adds a plus.

Yelp
Food is very good. Best key lime pie -- with meringue typing, generous slices or whole pie available. Ambiance is terrible. I only get takeout. Very crowded and dark. I feel as if I am sitting in a cave.

Yelp
This is the spot in Key Largo now. Come early, there will be an hour wait at the height and the bar is not open seating. The opening time seems to be more like a suggestion, so if you're here 5 or 10 minutes early, they're probably already seating - friendly place. I'll keep it simple - the food was overall good, service was good. It's a keeper

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. If there's anywhere you eat in the keys, this is the place. The fish is delicious, most are fresh off the boat. I love snapper, and cooked the Metacumbe style was perfect. Fresh tomatoes, basil, and a bright lemon. This is it. My husband said the lobster ravioli was delicious as well. We were debating just going back here every night of the rest of our vacation. Our schedule didn't quite accommodate that, but we would've if it did. A little pricey, but the quality was on point. If you dine on your birthday, they bring a giant fish with a candle in it for you lol. Not my thing, but if you're really into fishing then def a great place to celebrate.

Yelp
Quality of sea food is great. Service was fast and friendly. Taste could have had a bit more flavor. Interior was cute and cozy.

Yelp
The Fish House was recommended to us by a local and we've gone 4 times already for lunch and dinner. The food here is so so so amazing. A must stop for any tourist.
