"Richmond has some of the best Chinese food in all of North America. We could write a whole guide to just this area, but if you only have time for one meal in Richmond, come to The Fish Man. Bring a ton of friends so you can order all the hits, like sizzling grilled whole fish, wok-fried seafood, and the Sichuan-pepper-flecked sour cabbage fish hotpot that comes in a massive porcelain bowl. The 22 Best Restaurants in Richmond, BC | Eater

"Locals know Alexandra Road as “Eat Street” (Wai Sek Kai) for its abundance of restaurants, and while the Fish Man is one of the newest, it’s already one of the most popular. Sichuan roasted fish with ma la (numbing and spicy) sauce is the main feature, with choice of fish (a firm flesh like catfish holds up best) and choice of toppings like tofu skin, lotus root, and wood ear mushrooms. There are also excellent side dishes such as stir-fried spicy clams, a variety of meat skewers, and mantou dumplings to soak up the addictive sauces. [$$$ - $$$$]" - Jay Friedman

If you’re a fan of spicy seafood, Fish Man Restaurant in Richmond is a must-visit! We tried the hot and sour fish soup, which was packed with tender fish and fresh vegetables—full of bold, tangy flavor with a good spicy kick. We originally had our eyes on the scallops, but they were sold out, so we went with the clams in black bean sauce instead. No regrets—they were meaty, flavorful, and well-cooked. The real standout for us was the fried rice. It had incredible flavor and that unmistakable wok hay that’s hard to find. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality makes it worthwhile. Definitely recommended for seafood lovers looking for bold flavors.

This seafood spot is a real gem! Open late and full of energy, it has a vibrant atmosphere that makes every visit enjoyable. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the dishes are prepared with skill and finesse — clearly the work of a talented chef. To top it all off, the service is friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Google
British Columbia has great local seafood and this has got to be an experience worth trying because the Chinese approach seafood differently. This restaurant serves meals for the hardcore seafood enthusiasts who do not mind splashing out for dishes sold by weight, and at seasonal catch rates. The cost of entry is the cultural barrier, so you either got to muster up the courage to order everything yourself, or bring a Chinese-speaking friend. What you get in return is a feast full of fresh goodies from the ocean that would satisfy even the pickiest of Chinese uncles/aunties, with cooking styles customised across the full flavour spectrum between the spicy/heavy on one end and the light/fragrant on the other. With all the weird and wonderful crabs, fishes, prawns, squids and shellfish to choose from, it was a surprise to us that the restaurant also served chicken wings and lamb skewer etc. Keep this in mind because it would be a saving grace for the unfortunate few in any dining group who cannot stand seafood. We had dinner here with friends who visited from out of town, and they loved the variety across a various shared plates we ordered. We had the Stir-fried Sea Conch (large sea snail), the Clam and Loofah Soup, the Crispy Prawns in a rich Egg-Yolk batter, and a Steamed Blue-Cod. The food came in a staggered fashion, which suited us because of the time it takes to fiddle around all the shells and fish bones. Great way to chat and eat with friends. This restaurant is halfway down Alexandra Road, and is part of Richmond’s lively ‘Eat Street’ food scene. While the shop front and entrance has the unassuming and understated look that is typical of Richmond businesses, trust us, this one is a winner.

With friendly service and generous portions, The Fish Man is a go-to spot for those looking to enjoy a unique and flavourful seafood experience in Richmond.

Google
Came with a large party and enjoyed ourselves immensely! The food was outstanding. So creative and so tasty. People writing one star review for getting sick based on raw oysters should know the risks associated with eating raw oysters…this is not the restaurant’s fault. Highly recommend this place. Very hospital people and impressive dishes!

Google
We ordered 4 dishes tonight and they were all very tasty. This time I tried pickled hot pepper flavour. But I like savoury spicy flavour better which I tried last time.

Google
I thought the sour cabbage lingcod soup was absolutely incredible. If you like Sichuan spicy food or generally sour food, you'll most likely like this soup. If you like Hunan dishes (spicy + sour), this will be one of the best soups you ever try. The Jumbo Prawn was also very good. If you want the lingcod hot pot, you need to go in at least a group of 4 to avoid having a huge quantity of leftovers (you will still have leftovers).

Google
The food was excellent. The waitress was very busy and wished she had a bit more time to explain things, but the place was packed. Recommend making a reservation. Open yourself up to their recommendation. Definitely be going back to try a different menu. Had geoduck clam and lobster. Seasoning was just right and not salty. Didn't feel overwhelmed by herbs and spices.

Yelp
This was honestly one of the best meals we had in Vancouver! Everything we ordered was superb and incredibly delicious. We got the rock cod with sour cabbage sauce and the lobster with sticky rice. The fish tasted fresh and it was huge! Our meal was very satisfying meal and I wish we ordered more dishes. It's a great place for bigger parties because everything is shareable.

Yelp
If you're craving for seafood, I'd say Fish Man has a wide selection. They also have a variety of cooking styles and sauces. Truly an enjoyable meal with Grouper Fish, sea cucumber, wings too. Interior is contemporary and modern with long tables. It's good for groups too. Most servers can speaks English so we didn't have difficulty ordering. The pictured menu is not too comprehensive of their entire menu but server guides you through how to order.

Yelp
Above average prices but amazing dishes. Service isn't too bad considering how busy this place is. Important to make reservations or the wait is long. All the dishes hit the spot. The seafood fried rice has large chunks of seafood in it too. Great bustling place for family and friends if you can get a table.

Yelp
My second time here and it did not disappoint. We got here around 5pm on a Wednesday and it wasn't busy but it did get busy later in the evening. The food was great and obviously I ordered too much cuz I wanted to try everything.we ordered the fresh seafood and different skewers. Too bad they didn't have my fav veggie but it's not in season so it's not their fault. Geoduck, conch, steam scallops, all super fresh and yummy.

Yelp
This place is definitely a place to take a bunch of friends who love seafood and meat on sticks! Definitely order their Asahi Big Boy 2L beer, lamb skewers and the Sour Cabbage Lingcod. The soup/broth from the sour cabbage lingcod was to die for! It was so tasty that I ended up dreaming about it!

Yelp
I wanted to take my mom to a place that had delicious and fresh seafood, so after some searching on Yelp, I decided to give The Fish Man a try. I made a reservation for a Thursday evening, and found the place was pretty packed. After being seated, we were given menus, which offered a wide array of seafood options, as well as skewers. My party ordered beef brisket skewers, lamb skewers, Thai curry dungeoness crab, scallops and vermicelli, geoduck in scallion and ginger sauce, and a pork belly and chanterelle mushroom stir fry. Our favorite items were the lamb skewers, dungeoness crab, scallops, and pork belly and chanterelle mushroom stir fry. The lamp was well seasoned (cumin peppercorn seasoning) and very tender. The crab was nearly 3lbs, and very fresh. The Thai curry sauce paired well with the crab and is very tasty with the rice it is served over. The scallops were very garlicky, which I personally like. Surprisingly, I disliked the beef brisket skewers, which had a very gamey flavor. I also did not like the geoduck dish, as it was very bland. I would definitely recommend this place if you like seafood. I didn't try the fish and sour cabbage dishes, but it seems like the most popular thing people here order.

Yelp
Food: 3/5 - Not as good as I expected, if you like Lobster, I do not recommend it since it was a little bland. If you like Oysters, I recommend the "Beach Oysters" - this was one of the best dish they had. Aside from that, I liked the skewers (my recommendation: Beef Tongue!!). Service: 5/5 - the people here are incredibly nice and welcoming. They provided some recommendations on the dishes and also gave some grapes at the end. Ambiance: 3/5 - Pretty nice and clean restaurant; however, the location they are at is not as nice. Parking: There are parking in the back of the restaurant but the area was pretty dirty and it looks a bit shady so I was worried a bit when we parked there... especially going with the kids. Wait Time: No wait time at all because the restaurant was empty, I came here during the weekday around 3pm.. and there were only 2 other parties there.

Yelp
Came with a co-worker for a drink and food at the fish man restaurant. I was amazed by the interior. The service was amazing from the waiter, very attentive and friendly. They have a live catch menu and also a regular menu. We ordered quite a bit and I was amazed at how fast the food came out from the kitchen. I remember within 10min all the food orders came out. I would rate the restaurant 3.5/5 overall, the food quality was good but a bit on the pricey side. If I compare this restaurant with other BBQ Skewer restaurants or traditional Chinese restaurants (Kirin) I would rather spend my money there. If I were to come back again I will order their lamb skewers. I have to say their lamb skewers are better than a lot of places I have tried.

Yelp
Outstanding fresh quality seafood with very flavorful sauces! The clams and crab are a must! 5/5 Stir Fried Clams, Black Bean Sauce 5/5 Dungeness Crab, HK Style 4.5/5 Cod in Sour Cabbage Fish Hotpot 3.5/5 Beach Oysters Wish I had known about their Happy Hour menu beforehand -- prices looks significantly more affordable if youre looking to visit!

Yelp
A great place to go for fresh Hong Kong style spicy garlic fried crab. Very fresh, very crispy, not greasy at all. Also features a modern minimalist interior and attentive service staff. The small parking lot in the back can fill up though.

Yelp
We made reservations for 5 people on a weeknight. They weren't that busy so it probably wasn't necessary. Our friends raved about this place, but we were taken aback with how much stuff there was on the menu! We ended up ordering: The grill with lingcod (for less bones), in the savoury spicy flavour (it wasn't very spicy at all), with enoki mushrooms, bean curd, and tofu. We also ordered 5 skewers of beef ribeye and 10 skewers of the fatty beef (because you have to get 5+ of each skewer). The mussels were great, we loved the black bean sauce. Not pictured was cucumber salad which was also great. They must have mistyped our order as they'd forgotten a few things which we ended up cancelling rather than wait. The service was alright, the prices were far too expensive for the taste, but the experience was new and cool! I'd recommend everyone to try it!

Yelp
Came to this restaurant on the recommendation of a good friend. We ordered the ling cod grill set with golden combo as well as the clams. The service is excellent and the restaurant is nice inside. There's good parking options and a good amount of tables inside.

Yelp
My go to place whenever I crave spicy fish. Food here is not only authentic but full of options. Spicy fish, Chinese BBQ/skewers, grilled seafood! Can definitely get your cravings satisfied. For the fish, there are also many different options too. Service is nice and food comes out very quickly. Love the ambiance too, good for both a quick date night do two and large parties of friends!!

Yelp
KING CRAB FEAST at one of my favourite seafood restaurants is probably the best seafood meal you'd get. Everything was so fresh and so delicious. They have a lot of variations of seafood and the king crab is no joke here. * Each dish was flavourful and paired so well with the sake. I highly recommend checking this place out when it comes to a feast you won't forget. The uni and geoduck stood out just as much as the king crab, it was so fresh and delicious I guarantee your taste buds will thank you later! * What we got: - BC live Red Sea urchin - Whole geoduck clam in two different ways: one was green onion & ginger, and the other one was wok-fried with pork belly. - Fresh mussels in spicy Thai-style sauces - Alaska King Crab in three courses: steamed Crab legs with garlic, Hong Kong typhoon-style Crab body, and Seafood fried Rice in the Crab Shell. * This is certainly a feast I won't forget and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Best meal I had during a recent trip to Richmond..... and its is so good I would consider driving the 200 miles to eat again. However, there is a queue even if you make a reservation, and the wait is not much shorter. When we got there, the queue was 45minutes. A lady arriving just behind us also with a party of two was told that she had to wait 30 minutes even though she was 5 minutes early for her reservation! We came for the hot-pot fish, and so we ordered one. A medium ling cod with the sour cabbage flavour and Golden Combo sides that turned out to be huge. Great value, great taste, and great service once you get seated. Long wait though.... and I'm not going to take away a star for that.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to get various types of Chinese-style seafood and BBQ skewers. All of the ingredients they use are fresh and the service is attentive. On the Saturday we went, there was not a wait, and we were seated prompted after arriving. The food came out about 5-15 minutes after ordering. The flavors were good for everything we ordered, and we left highly satisfied. There were also ample free parking spots in the back of this restaurant.
google avatar

Violet B.

Yelp
The seafood is very fresh here. I enjoyed the clam and more clams! The special clams were really big! And they were delicious! The skewers had a minimum order of 5. I tried the beef sirloin which was delicious.

Yelp
Amazing! What a great restaurant. I've been to Chinese restaurants all over the world and The Fish Man was the best. The preparation and the presentation are at another level. Small bustling location that you would be wise to make a reservation to go to.

Yelp
Good food, but way overpriced. For what you get. We had the deep-fried fish that was made into a casserole at the end. 3 of us with only 3 dishes and a very small Saki. Was over $400. ??.
google avatar

Kimberly T.

Yelp
This was our first time going to this restaurant, and I have to say that our experience was amazing. Let's start with the food everything we got was lip-Smacking, finger-licking delicious. I went into this restaurant not even liking mussels but by the time I finished eating mussels are my new favorite, the sauce that the mussels and the clams was cooked in was so delicious. The seafood fried rice had big old pieces of shrimp and crab. It was so good. Service was good. The staff were very respectful. The ambience was beautiful. I love everything about this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
It was quite busy during lunch on the weekend, but it is definitely worth a visit. The interior is nicely decorated and cute and we were seated fairly quickly despite how busy it was. The servers were attentive and did a good job! We ordered the grilled fish in a medium size. We chose the sour cabbage option and it was so good. The fish was soft and easy to scoop up and mix with the rice. I recommend coming here with a small party just to get the fish. The skewers were also very flavorful. I definitely prefer the meat skewers over the squid for the flavors, but the squid does have a fun chewy texture. Overall, I recommend this place and will be going back!

Yelp
super good and worth coming with a group or just as 2! But portions are better for sharing. Quality seafood and the service is fast ! :) Just don't be shy to put your hand up!
google avatar

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Overall really delicious meal -- everything was well seasoned. Favourite dish of the night was probably the intestines.
google avatar

Hana T.

Yelp
PACKED with so much flavour. It's very numbing so it's a weird sensation but the umami in the soup is insane. I love love the sour cabbage fish!!! There's glass noodles, lots of cabbage and mushrooms. The fish is also super tender. The numbing fish was spicier but also had a ton of vegetables underneath it. It was a little harder to remove the meat from the bone but still delicious! Great for sharing with friends since the dishes are massive!
google avatar

Jim L.

Yelp
Good customer service and food! Originally, they had given us the wrong food: they gave us very spicy when we ordered non-spicy fish sauce. They corrected it and gave us the correct sauce and edamame to eat while we wait for them to recook. Food: pretty fresh fish! Their sauce is pretty good! Thanks!
google avatar

Yelp
came to the fish man as my partner was craving their seafood fried rice. it was around 5:30 pm on wednesday and there were plenty of parking spots in the back, behind the restaurant. the place wasn't packed and we were seated right away. i noticed they have nice new visually stunning menu booklets, replacing the sticky ones they had before and that the prices have gone up. they have many specials including an alaskan king crab at $48/pound, and these babies average about 8 to 9 pounds. gotta get a group out here to try this before it's gone... the place did start to fill up, but there were still a lot of empty tables, could be due to early midweek and/or price increase? food was just as good, seafood is fresh, flavourful and consistent.

Stephen W.

Yelp
Go here, amazing spot! The lobster and the clams were amazing. We came up from Seattle and if you are looking for Chinese Seafood is just great seafood in General. This place is a must visit! They have heaters on the patio which was great on a PNW April night.
google avatar

Sandy M.

Yelp
Came here on Wednesday around 8 and there were a few tables left. There is a small lot and street parking. There are a few plazas around here, but parking isn't too difficult. The first time we came here, the roasted fish was amazing, but this time around, it was not very flavorful. This time, we ordered a medium lingcod with mala broth, golden combo (chinese cabbage, lotus root, bean curd, and seaweed), and flat noodles. We wanted a small fish, but apparently they were out of stock of a lot of fish, and we were left with a bigger fish that we barely ate half of. It was either a medium lingcod or a frozen fish, which we didn't want. In hindsight, we should have just ordered other dishes. We were traveling in the area, so we don't have a means of eating it the next day, so we wasted a lot of the fish, which was a shame. It was pretty bland this time, so I would give this a 3.5/5. Lamb skewers were pretty good, but it didn't have enough seasoning on it. You must order 4 skewers of the same meat, so we ended up getting 4 lamb skewers. I would say this is a 3/5. Baked oysters 4 ways, I had 2 of them and they weren't cleaned very well, as there were sand on them and I had to eat it very carefully. The flavors were pretty good and they do taste different, but since it wasn't cleaned very well, I would say it's a 2.5/5. It was so good the first time we came here, the fish soaked in the mala seasoning and it was spicy and so good. Maybe it was a fluke when we went this time. I would come back again, but hopefully they will have a small fish available!

Yelp
Here are the veggie options: eggplant, enoki mushrooms, cabbage roll skewers, and tofu skin skewers. There is a minimum of 5 orders per skewer type, so it's slightly expensive if you think about how much one skewer costs. For example, the cabbage rolls cost $2.99 per skewer, so it was a total of $14.95 for 5 cabbage rolls. Great flavors, but slightly overpriced for vegetables. A plate of eggplant costs $8 for two thinly sliced grilled eggplant. Very oily and a little too salty for me. The rice was also dry. But, staff was friendly!
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
I ordered the lingcod with pickled cabbage and the golden combo. Portion was VERY GENEROUS for 2 persons and could have easily fed an additional person (or persons) in my opinion. The cucumber salad was quite refreshing.

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant during our family trip to Vancouver. So good that we ate here twice! This place is always bustling, but their turnover rate is pretty quick so we were able to get seated under 40 minutes both times. Some highlights: Shrimp on vermicelli- this was a substitute for their clam with vermicelli after they ran out, but I thought this was an even tastier. The shrimp was super fresh, and the fish head innards (which I normally skip) were the most umami I've ever had. Geoduck- sauteed on top of crunchy blanched bean sprouts with scallion and soy sauce. Very light and clean-tasting dish. Skewers- we got a bunch, but all of them were amazing. In particular I loved the intestine, cow artery, and lamb kidney, which were all cuts you don't see everywhere that were cooked well with great care. BBQ Fish- very well-balanced, decently sized, with the ability to customize with any add-ons you want! You must eat here if you're in Richmond!

Yelp
Google map and yelp show that they closed at 12:00am, I even called ahead, the server said last call is 11:30pm. I arrived at 11:08 and they told me their chef is gone already. If you close at 11pm just change your fking time.
google avatar

Jacky K C.

Yelp
Stir fry snail was very tasty. Prefer the stir fry style versus just picking it out of the snail itself with a toothpick. The snail meat is already picked out for you. Do not order the geoduck stir fry. it is a rip off. About $58 for a dish that mixes in with strips of pork belly. But at the price point, you expect a dish with only pieces of geoduck. Very little of it. Stir fried clams were good but as with most cases with clams, some have sand in it. Good place for large groups.
google avatar

zhuangxin c.

Yelp
The restaurant has free parking area - and is also pet friendly! We brought our dog there and sat outside to enjoy the vide and street view. Highly recommend grilled fish and try the spicy flavour if you can. You can taste how fresh the ingredients are, the fish was super tender and I absolutely love it! For vegetables we had tofu cooked together with fish, it was fully soaked in the soup and tastes even better than fish itself! Service there was awesome, people were so friendly, a male waiter even brought our dog some water ;) Lamb and pork skewers there were good but Northern BBQ can be a better choice.
google avatar

Ed Y.

Yelp
If you read my reviews you know I love Chinese food but I can be picky about it. However I was just blown away by how good this place is. The food is phenomenal. I went by myself so I couldn't order a fish as I doubt I have a stomach for anything else if I did so. However I still ended up over ordering. I ordered the spicy conch, the steamed geoduck and lastly the lobster in sticky rice. The conch is so good and I highly recommend this dish. The steamed geoduck is good too and I'm glad that you don't have to order a full one just a dish by itself which is way more economical. The lobster is lackluster in comparison and I think I shouldn't have ordered it as it's way too much food. Overall I'd highly highly recommend this place and I plan to go back for the fish and kebobs later.

Yelp
BEST WAYS to eat live king crab! No alternative! I had it in Japan, Korea, and US...no where can compare to this! I also got the spicy clam, stir fry vege, and cold lettuce. All were delicious!

Yelp
If you want fresh fish in Szechuan sauce then this is the place. It gets pretty busy at night so expect a wait.

Yelp
We've been to this place twice in the last 6 months and like it very much. This restaurant is known for its seafood and I have to agree they definitely know how to make great seafood dishes. We've had conch seashells, which was a seasonal special, geoduck, arctic surf clam and their famous fish dish. Every dish was not only tasty but looked great too. The service was superb as well and our server was very patient in explaining and recommending dishes while also very attentive to our needs without us even asking. Overall I think they have great food and service. I will definitely visit again when I'm in Vancouver.

Emma R.

Yelp
The Service is great the barbecue was perfect and I said I wanted "both spicy and not" and they gave me barbecue with spicy powder or seasoning they gave us Plain White rice The Chairs were high quality only downside is I'm scared of Live sea animals in a fish tank moving around which are crabs I kind of scares me 5 stars

Yelp
Make sure you bring a friend that likes to eat. If your buddy happens to drink as well, order a pitcher of beer. Expect to order another one, because this spot is the very definition of going out to eat. You sit, drink, ear, shoot the breeze, drink some more until you've polished the whole bowl or pot. This is my favorite way of breaking bread. Oysters: nice plump oysters with a spicy sweet sauce to go with it. It's very good, I enjoyed all of it. Would order this again and again and again if given then chance. Lin Cod Hot Pot: We did the medium fish and the $10 set of veggies and some clear noods. The whole dish was effing phenomenal. The fish was super fresh and the veggies were sublime. Also that spicy broth was amazing. Would smash on this again as well if given the chance. The hubby and I had an amazing experience here. The service was on point and the food is amazing. I can not wait to be back. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Yelp
This place is amazing! Absolutely love the scallops (steamed with garlic) and it is a generous sized scallop too. Meaty and yet not overcooked. Mussels were plumped but note size is seasonal when it comes to shell fish. A hint of spice but not super powering which is what I preferred esp with seafood. The geoduck is stirred fried and atop a bed of beansprouts. Yummy! For those who prefer a cleaner tasting dish, this one is for you :) Steamed rock cod spicy - whoa meaty fish and super filling. We had some skewers as well after. Fyi: no dessert at this establishment

Yelp
Just come here to get sour cabbage fish hotpot. Bring 2 or 3 people with you to conquer this ginormous bowl

Yelp
What the heck -- 5 stars! The Fish Man is a hidden gem that you must visit if you're a seafood lover. This Chinese restaurant is an absolute must-try if you're in Richmond. From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The atmosphere was absolutely buzzing - packed with people who were clearly enjoying their food and each other's company. We originally came for the skewers, but after seeing the seafood that other tables were ordering, we knew we had to give it a try. And boy, were we glad we did! We ordered a whole ling cod, which was served to us in a metal tray, bubbling hot with Sichuan flavours. The seafood was exceptionally fresh and tasted absolutely amazing. The flavours were so incredible that we had to resist the temptation to lick the tray clean! Overall, I can't recommend The Fish Man enough. It's a must-try for anyone who loves seafood and wants to experience some incredible Chinese cuisine. The combination of fantastic food, buzzing atmosphere, and fresh seafood makes this restaurant a real standout. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
The best restaurant on our trip. We ordered the mussels, which were fresh and large with a Thai basil sauce that you want to eat with just rice. We also got the medium lingcod in sour pickled mustard sauce with clear noodles, seaweed, and enoki mushrooms. This was large enough to feed 6 and one of the best seafood dish we had in Vancouver. The clear noodles soak up the sauce and have a nice Q. The watermelon juice and beef skewers were also delicious. If you have a chance to visit Vancouver, this is a must-stop restaurant. Really creative and well-prepared dishes that are hard to find anywhere else.

Yelp
Not far from our apartment in Alexander Court, but we really want to eat at another place, but they (The Shellfish Shack) was closed. Not sure if it closed for good or for the Labor Day holiday. But all the other restaurants were open. Nevertheless we went to our backup down the same street and we were not disappointed. The wait was about 30 minutes for our party of 6. FYI, parking in the back was limited but it seems like a popular location with some many cars on the street and in pay private lots. Luckily I found one on the street right in front of the restaurant although two car parked in the no parking spaces behind me. Fortunately it was a beautiful day, clear sky 69 degrees, compare to rain the day before. So all the patio seating was full. When we finally sat down we ordered right away. Because of the large party of 6 we ordered the ling cod with fermented bean sauce. But afterward we should gotta a spicier version. The Golden topping seems to be everything we needed since we also order Geoduck with bean sprouts, clams, and a Hong Kong style crab. So that was a lot of food. The geoduck dish was first. The pile of bean sprouts was generous, but the amount of thinly slice geoduck was not. Also, much of the sprouts was piled high on top of the geoduck shell, so below the sauce underneath was not flavoring the sprouts. It wasn't until half as gone before we realized that the sauce was so good. Given that we got only a few ounces of the geoduck leave me to wonder who ate the rest or do they reuse the shell? The ling cod arrive and it was beautiful and hot. The favor was good but lack depth. The next dish that came was the clams. Again it was a generous portion but I notice most of the shells were empty , there was quite a few loose clams on the bottom of the plate but I wondered if it was all of the missing one? Nevertheless it was good. I poured the clam sauce into the fish to give it a bit more flavor. Wished I save the geoduck sauce. Then came the crab, Hong Kong style. It's supposed to be 2 pounds ($88), yeah it's pricy since the local market sells the live extra large (3 plus pounds ) for $11.99/pound. The crab was well cooked, but fresh and sweet. We did find that we were missing quite a few of the vegetables that was supposed to be included with the golden extras, so they did comp us for that. If after a terrible week of cruise food on the Serenade of the Sea, we were happy to pay $200 for a great seafood dinner.

Yelp
We spent 200 Canadian dollars here for two people. It is a pricy restaurant as it mainly sells seafood. steamed geoduck: not recommended, this 38 CAD dish only has a few slices of geoduck on top and a lot of bean sprouts below Steamed egg: the lobster meat inside the egg pudding has a weird taste, not fresh, but the urchin is fresh and sweet, egg pudding is ok. Grilled fish: we initially wanted to order the local rock fish, but it was running out and we ended up with small size of white sea bass. I like the fermented soybean sauce, it is not spicy and tastes good. if you order other dishes along with the grilled fish, small size should be good. Skewers: I highly recommend their skewers dish, it is probably the best value for your money in this restaurant. the skewers are charcoal grilled and not fried

Yelp
I tried food from here recently after passing by the restaurant several times. In terms of food, I got the Sichuan Chicken, Pork Hock, and Ham and Egg Fried Rice. The Sichuan Chicken was spicy enough and a bit vinegary, had decent cuts of meat, and a nice amount for a starter. The pork hock was nicely grilled with a good spice level/flavour and it was not greasy, and the peanuts with it were a nice touch. The fried rice was okay. Although they are more known for their fish based on their name and website, the chicken and barbecued items are also pretty good.

Yelp
Food was good but horrible service. Waitress continuously was pushy, trying to sell the most expensive items on the menu. We ordered two bowls of rice and had to remind them 3 times for it to come. When we asked for the bill though, it came right away.

Yelp
Had a great time here. Came during off hours so no wait and service was great. They ran out of some food items but that was fine. Got the catfish and some skewers and everything was delicious. Would bring my parents here next time.
