On the Grid : Flatiron Hall

"This bustling beer hall is great for almost any occasion, especially work happy hours. On any given weekday you'll find the neighborhood's employees cooling off with the craft beer of their choice. Flatiron Hall features an eclectic mix of decor which includes student artwork, and vintage appliances. This is the best place to grab a drink with a group of friends and share some pub food for the table. The vibe is a bit similar to a German beerhall—communal, lively, and with plenty to eat." - Laundry Service

We recently had the pleasure of dining at flatiron room and I must say that it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment we stepped inside,we was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. Host even wished a happy birthday to our party. The restaurant's decor was modern and elegant, with a perfect balance of sophistication and comfort. The soft lighting and tasteful artwork created a relaxed atmosphere, making it the ideal setting for a memorable dining experience. Food was amazing, truffle fries were great. Music was a great addition to our experience. Overall this place is a gem and will definitely return.

Google
Truly lovely setting, piano and singer & terrific food. Terrific drink with unusual flavors! Really enjoyed and will be back on our next visit! My husband had the chickpea dish and I had the spare rib dish. Both were great... See photo below.

Google
i ordered their 1/2 dozen oysters, house cut truffle fries, bourbon bbq meatballs (beef blend of brisket, short rib, and strip steak with smoky bbq bourbon sauce), burgundy braised beef short rib (parsnip purée, brussels sprout, rainbow carrot, burgundy wine demi-glace), jumbo lump crab cake (beet & walnut purée, swiss chard, grilled lemon), bourbon barrel aged coffee gelato, and sticky toffee pudding. i can’t overstate how good every single dish was (even their sides were carefully crafted and masterfully seasoned and cooked to perfection). their fries were to die for and i highly recommend getting them as a side if you’re a fry lover (came out very hot, crispy, and richly flavorful— perfect amount of truffle flavor). their beef short rib was perhaps the most tender beef short rib i’ve had (the sauce paired perfectly with the rich, robust beef flavor). even their desserts were absolutely delectable. i highly recommend getting a reservation here and checking them out— you won’t be disappointed! (i also got their bourbon barrel aged coffee and it is so good) (also the lighting was dark so these photos do not do their dishes justice)

Google
Upscale restaurant for a lovely jazz dinner. The food was 8/10, nothing out this world but consistent and good. The drinks definitely come with presentation and are amazing. Come here for an amazing experience food and live music. -I’d recommend the Mac and cheese to start it was a. 10/10

Google
The atmosphere is great but the servers were similar to what you’d experience at a fast food restaurant. The food was not very good, it lacked flavor and tasted old. Also the non alcoholic drink tasted just like alcohol which was weird. Even the lemonade tasted weird. Not a terrible experience but not good.

Google
Perfect Old Fashioned “The Triumph” was strong and not too sweet. The beet salad was out of this world and. I don’t even like beets. The live 3 piece jazz band was outstanding at 9:30 on a Thursday night. This place is a real gem!

Google
Fantastic atmosphere in this restaurant! They have a huge array of drinks available if you just want a drink, or a fabulous, small menu (fresh food) to choose from. The staff are wonderful and very attentive! There were a few jazz artists playing which gave the place a great ambience when we were there. The saxophonist also played Happy Birthday to me, how wonderful is that! I hope the pictures speak for themselves but the food was delicious as well! Highly recommended!

Google
The Flatiron Room is hands down 5 Stars across the board. The vibe is jazzy NYC cabaret, with decor and attention to detail to match. This was my second time and it did not disappoint. For a special evening out with family & friends, first date, date night or special occasion…THIS is the spot. The service is spot on, warm hospitality from the host team and servers that will not steer you wrong. Food was absolutely delicious and the craft cocktails……let’s just say I wish I could’ve tried them all. If you like whiskey, you will not find such an extensive, in depth array and vast selection. Check out the headliner entertainment when you go. And if you want outdoor seating, the private rooms are finely appointed. A star in Murray Hill!

Yelp
Love this place. Excellent service, atmosphere, and food. I ordered the Tomahawk steak and it was the best steak I've ever had.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. I don't know how it flew under my radar for so long. I'm upset with my friends who had been to Flatiron Room (Murray Hill) and didn't tell me about it because the setup is right up my alley. Thankfully, I had a friend from Canada visiting and my scopes picked it up during a search for a good spot near her hotel in Times Square. The restaurant space itself is very warm and inviting. After looking at the available pictures online, I was a little bit concerned with the view and loudness from each table. After seeing the space in person, don't be afraid to sit up front or on the second level of tables in front of the stage. The tables to the far side of the stage don't have a good view of the performers. So beware. Incidentally, I asked for particular table arrangements in my reservation notes and I was glad to see that the staff/management obliged. That's always a HUGE plus in my book because restaurants often ignore this. Meanwhile, the live music is such a classy touch to the place. We're talking live singers and instruments, jazz ensembles etc. The stage lighting isn't overpowering. We stayed until maybe 10pm on a weeknight and they still had music going which I thought was great. Often the live music is brief or a few hours at most. Anyways, you're probably wondering about the food. We were trying to taste as much as we could but the menu options are so massive. So we split the charcuterie board, the steak (NY Strip), truffle fries, broccoli rabe and the rest I can't recall. They knew were were sharing so they had the steak precut for us and brought extra plates out, which again I really appreciated. The drinks were great too! I was a little bit surprised by the consistency of the "Take Me Back To Tulum" cocktail (frozen creamy consistency), but it was really good. I had to have two. I think one of has had the "Blackberry Gimlet" another tasty option. There was a third drink we tried, but I can't recall the name. Suffice it to say that the cocktails are all VERY well crafted. All in all, we had a great time, top to bottom. I will most definitely be stopping in to visit again. I'd like to give a shoutout to Vasyl (?), the manager who checked in on us during the meal. My friend is Eastern European and they had some things in common. We had nice conversation with him towards the end of our visit. His kind manner stuck out to me. You should try the place any time you're in the vicinity. P.S. I can see this being a nice date spot. Keep it in your pocket for a hot date maybe. ;-)

Yelp
2.5 would be fair This was my second time here. First time was great. We were a group of 6, we were very patient, spent a decent amount $1300-1400 or so. Service was beyond slow, numerous times got the wrong items or never got the item at all. The food was below average tonight. Things were cold, soggy, old tasting. We knew we had a time limit and service dragged us. By the end we were told we had to leave because we reached our time limit but we had paid for coffee and cappuccinos that hadn't come yet. Embarrassing to sit there feeling rushed out but knowing you paid for something you didn't get. Overall the music was great but beyond that it felt like a giant rip off this time. The worst item of the night: Seafood tower for $200. The worst one I have ever had. Nothing was fresh. Things covered in sauce to cover the lack of freshness? Best item of the night: Music

Yelp
Stumbled across this place while looking for a spot to take my mom for her birthday. I wanted a warm, upscale feel with great vibes and that's exactly what we got! First thing, when making a reservation online be sure to select "Dining Room" and not "Lounge." Fortunately when we arrived the hostess suggested the dining room to enjoy the music. Shout out to her for looking out! This location also has matchbooks for those fellow avid collectors We sat down right by the stage. They have live music pretty much every day of the week so check their website for the schedule. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming. I wish I remember the name of our waitress! She was so cool. To start we orders drinks, I had a Tale Me Back to Tulum which was a sweeter drink made with blanco tequila, coconut and mango cream (which was delish!) mint, dry curaçao, lemon juice, and agave. My mom had her first old fashioned (very proud of her lol) and it was served with monkey shoulder scotch, angostura bitters, orange zest, demerara sugar, and hickory smoked. Knowing my mom's taste, I asked if they could make the old fashioned slightly sweeter and they made it perfect! It was honestly way better than my drink lol. Now for the food. There were so many things we wanted to try so we decided to order a bunch of appetizers and their scallops special. The apps included - Bourbon BBQ meatballs: overall solid. The sauce was smoky and not too watery - peekytoe crab cakes: this came with a nori egg sauce that really pulled the entire dish together! - Scallops: a few years ago I was burned by scallops. They gave me the worst food poisoning and I just never returned. However these restore my faith in scallops! Seared to perfection and topped on a bed of smooth and flavorful hummus and sautéed spinach. And as if it couldn't get any better, a tiny sprinkle of caviar. I wish it was a regular item on the menu because I would order it every single time. Moses Patrou killed it! A playlist of Blues, Jazz, and Soul accompanied our meal and I mean who can ask for a better experience?? Would absolutely recommend The Flatiron Room Murray Hill and would come back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
I very much liked the jazz experience here, unfortunate that are table didn't have sight to musicians, but most tables do! The cocktails were deliciousssss!! We kept ordering different ones to try and they were all hits so truly can't go wrong. The appetizers were all so good too, the skirt steak was disappointing. Overall such a fun place and would return here with a group!

Yelp
I loved this place so much I came back twice in a week. The first time, we were seated in the dining room area in front of the fireplace and right next to the live music. I got the "take me back to Tulum" which had a delicious fruity foam on top of a sweet cocktail. It was amazing. The second time, we were seated in the lounge area which was more secluded but didn't have the same vibe. I got the Rockstar martini this time which was nicely tart and delicious as well.

Yelp
I dined at Flatiron in March for a friend's birthday dinner with a group of about 12. We had a set menu, and the food was sooo good. The family-style dining allowed us to share various delicious dishes. The drinks were enjoyable, though not very strong. The live music added a nice touch, and the performers did a great job. However, we were seated quite close to the stage, making it a bit loud at times. Despite this, the place was great and very accommodating. The service was fine--we always had a server, although they occasionally took a bit of time to switch dishes. All in all, Flatiron is a wonderful spot with tasty food, good drinks, and a lively atmosphere. I would recommend it for group gatherings and special occasions.

Yelp
Dined here on a Sunday night in celebration of my 10 year wedding anniversary and I'm so glad that we chose this place. The atmosphere is very intimate and sophisticated. There were not many patrons there when we arrived and that was good for us... Each staff person that we encountered from the hostesses to the servers to the waiter were pleasant and helpful. We ordered the Focaccia to start, the Raspberry Spritz for our drinks and for our entrees I had the Braised Short Rib and hubby had the Skillet Chicken. The Focaccia was airy, moist and warm and served with a smoked maple butter which complimented it perfectly. The Short Rib and the Chicken dishes were exquisite - both hubby and I cleaned our plates. For dessert, we pre-ordered the Chocolate Sphere which was cool to look at (before the reveal) and tasted even better. Given the atmosphere, the food and the service, I did not want the night to end... I almost forgot to note - the band on this night was the Moses Patrou Duo, which sounded amazing... This place is truly a gem, I will absolutely return when in NY!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by the Flatiron iron room. I am always weary when there is a show "included" with dinner. Usually the food is not great and gimmicky. However, the food ended up being very good. The butternut squash ravioli was fresh and had a lot of butternut squash. Although only 3 pieces, they were giant. It was paired with pickled onion and cucumber, which I liked but my friend did not. The beet salad was also great. The beets were soft and fresh. The angus strip steak was cooked well, we asked for medium and got medium rare, but I was happy with that. The potato was soft and I was happy. Their Triumph cocktail was also a triumph. My main gripe is that it is very very pricey considering the food, but you are paying for the ambience and music. Next time, I would come by for cocktails and eat elsewhere.

Yelp
Honestly this place could have been so much nicer than it was !!! The SERVICE IS HORRIBLE HORRIBLE !!! I did not like it at all. The food is horrible and the drinks. I would not recommend this place to anyone !!! DONT GO, WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME

Yelp
Such a nice restaurant with excellent service, live music, & good food. I find this could be a comfortable place to go solo actually because of how the seating is. I'd definitely return solo for an evening of great music. I'm so happy I got to try this newish location for this restaurant. Go, enjoy!!

Yelp
Really enjoyed our time at the Flatiron room! Entertainment was great food was terrific and drinks were delicious! Oh, and the service can't beat all in all great experience!!

Yelp
First, the decor of this place is beautiful! the dim lighting and live jazz music is giving it a whole vibe and I'm there for it!! Second, the pricing considering it's high end NYC is not bad at all! Third, I had the cheese and meat plate (not the biggest but had a good variety) Also had the organic chicken and it was sooooooooo tasty. It had this light crispy slight spicy skin. It was perfect! My husband had the Tom hawk steak and was large and cooked perfectly Fourth, don't skip on dessert!!!!! We had the passion fruit cheesecake (a bit too sweet for my liking), had the 25 layer chocolate cake, AMaZINGGGGG!! & had the chocolate sphere with the drizzle was such a cute presentation Fifth, the service was perfect! He was on top of the table and not once did we have to pour our own wine. I would def recommend it

Yelp
This review all started with an intriguing recommendation from Melville's own Glenn K, Yelp black elite. On his recommendation, I grabbed a date and another couple and we went. It was a perfect evening. Everyone was so pleased with a great evening of fine food and spirits - and live music is always good for the soul. Online reservations were made on Open Table, credit card was required to hold - no problem. We were seated at a beautiful booth all facing the stage. The vibe is definitely classy, but muted and a little old-timey (there was an Art Linkletter book in a corner behind me). You will be amazed by what resembles a library for fancy bottles of spirits everywhere. We walked into the early set by two performers with such a comfortable sound - violin included. Service was patient as we figured everything out. The spirits menu has FORTY-SIX pages. The first pages are for inventive cocktails, the smoked old fashions were coming out like soda pops all night to all the tables. We started with the grilled octopus, whipped feta (amazing), shrimp cocktail, a dozen west coast oysters. Followed by kale/avocado salads and a cheese plate. All the apps were amazing. Really good. Entrees we're all very good too - porterhouse, salmon, lobster ravioli and a burger. Now please try desert. The F&R dome is really an amazing site to be seen. Hot hazelnut, yum. The 28 layer cake was also special. The dram coffee tho - wow, out of this world. Very good drip coffee. It was nice to linger a bit while we took in the sounds of the Jason Ewald trio. The experience really was perfect, our dates were very happy and everyone enjoyed each others company and the evening. Strong recommend.

Yelp
I was staying at a nearby hotel and was glad to have such a stellar cocktail bar just across the avenue. This is the kind of cocktail bar that absolutely makes me miss NY and hate LA. Excellent ambiance. Fantastic cocktails. Everything about this place oozes sophistication. I was previously a fan of their original space in Flatiron but in my opinion, this location is even better. Add the live jazz and excellent bartenders on top of it all, and what's not to love?
google avatar

Yelp
Love the Smoking Bourbon and enjoyed the live entertainment with Izzy. Nice lounge in the Murray Hill area.

Yelp
Swanky jazz cocktail bar and restaurant. I can't comment on the food, but the drinks were excellent, the vibe was good, and the jazz created great ambiance. The bar tender listed and crated a drink for me exactly like I wanted. I sipped it while bopping my head along with the jazz duo. I will definitely be back!

Gisleny H.

Yelp
Great service, drinks and food! We loved the live music. Came here for a last minute birthday dinner. We ordered 14 oz steak with chimichurri sauce, truffle fries, spinach tonnarelli, flat iron burger, and sauteed mushrooms. For dessert we got the chocolate cake which was huge but really good. Our total was around $305

Yelp
Great place to grab a drink with friends or go on a first date. Super cute ambiance and great drinks. Did not have a chance to check out food offerings but will def try next time.

Delia S.

Yelp
Beautiful venue with live music at night time but for the price of $24 for a dirty martini and $23 for the garden of Eden, the tepid cocktails were very mediocre to poor. Save your money and go to a number of other remarkable cocktail bars around the area. And after walking out after $60 for two warm drinks, the cherry on top was finding that someone stole our umbrella in front of coat check.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, outstanding prices, amazing live music, and a robust wine list is why I love the Flatiron Room. I tend to gravitate to the bar because it's out of the way from the main room and a large bathroom is right behind it. The bar tenders are wonderful and there's a view of the stage from were I'm usually perched. Love this place and all that it offers.

Yelp
Open late on a Thursday night, the Flatiron Room in Murray Hill ended up being a great place to enjoy a nightcap with friends, while listening to a low key live jazz trio. WIfe had a Flatiron mule ($20) with bourbon, while I chose the Tropical Passion ($23). It was nice to get out of the hustle and bustle of Times Square.

Melissa D.

Yelp
We hosted a special client dinner and it was amazing! Gramoz G "Mo" was our server and he was fantastic! Could not have asked for better service. Food was incredible. Music was classy. We'd do it all over again. Thank you for making our dinner memorable.

Yelp
Been wanting to hear live music while having a nice meal with my girls, and this is one of the places I found on Instagram. We were pleasantly surprised with everything, from service to vibes to food. Usually if the vibes are good the food is just eh, but that was not the case with Fine & Rare. Loved every song that the 3 men played, and the ambiance was absolutely stunning. Food came out at a reasonable time, and they all looked so appetizing and were delicious!! Would keep this place bookmarked and go again (:

Yelp
Fine & Rare tries to emulate "Old New York" with their flooring and a lot of their decor straight from those eras. I had reservations which I recommend to do, not sure how the walk in's work. They have a nice bar area available, too. Greg was our server and he was knowledgeable in all the meat cuts, appetizers, entrees, drinks, etc. We had two smoking old fashioned drinks each with different smokes and tried different bourbon and rye. They are truly so good!!! This restaurant prices themselves on how many whiskeys they have (35 page book). Appetizers: 1/2 dozen East Coast oysters, and the grilled octopus. Both were great choices. Entrees: we shared the 32oz porterhouse which was the best porterhouse I've ever had. Cooked perfectly medium rare. Added the peppercorn sauce which paired nicely. Side: creamy spinach... we finished the entire thing! Yum. It was not so much jazz music the night we went but the singer was more of a 1920s theme, which was nice. Great vibe in here!

Yelp
So disappointed in this place. I had a reservation for four tonight to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hostess confirmed that we were celebrating a special occasion and seated us at a comfortable booth with a view of the stage. The ambience and decor are nice - dark wood paneling, bottles of (very expensive) whiskey line the walls, a gorgeous tin plated ceiling, and the dim lighting really lent to a cozy atmosphere. The live jazz music started and did not disappoint- it was one of the reasons we wanted to come here. From there things went downhill. It wasn't exactly busy (our reservation was at 7 pm and over half the tables were empty), but it literally took 30 minutes before the waiter showed up. As soon as he started talking any illusion that this was going to be an elevated or pleasant experience vanished. When I asked him what was in the summer salad (on the menu it says "chef's selection of seasonal vegetables" his response was a terse "it's just lettuce and balsamic dressing". $17 for lettuce and balsamic dressing. We proceed to place our orders. My husband orders the scallops. The waiter had the presence of mind to inform him that the dish only comes with two scallops (for $32) and would my husband like to order anything else in addition? My husband says sure he'll also have the crab cake. A server comes in a little while with our food and overall it was good. We shared the beet salad and the aforementioned summer salad (it was indeed just lettuce leaves with balsamic dressing - the menu couldn't have just said this?). The mains came shortly thereafter. The octopus I ordered was delicious and perfectly seared. Our party also ordered the 14 oz Angus strip (perfectly cooked), the braised short rib (tender but a bit bland) and my husband's crab cake (good but have had better). Portion sizes are very small (with the exception of the mashed potato side which was a decent size to share) but the quality is there. My husband was wondering when the scallops would come and we thought maybe after he finishes the crab cake? We finish everything fairly quickly. (did I mention the small portions?) The plates were soon cleared (the bussing staff was excellent throughout) and we were left waiting. And waiting. The waiter walks by but doesn't look at our table despite our signaling. More waiting. Note the restaurant still has plenty of empty tables. Finally the waiter comes by and plops down some dessert menus. My husband asks about the scallops. The waiter responds "oh my bad I forgot to put in the order." He says they won't take long to cook if we still want it. At this point it's a matter of diminishing returns. Sure the scallops would probably be well prepared and delicious, but do we really want to spend more money on a place with such poor service? We tell him never mind on the scallops and he leaves us to peruse the dessert menu. We were looking forward to the 28 layer chocolate cake and the Flatiron Room sphere for my husband , but the more I thought about the service we received the more pissed off I got. The waiter comes back and we tell him we just want the check making it clear we weren't happy. It was a birthday dinner and the waiter basically ruined it. He awkwardly returns with our check and the tiniest cake we've ever seen topped with a mini candle. I have to admit it was very cute, but by that time we just wanted to leave. I wouldn't recommend anyone come here despite the quality of the food. Not at those prices and definitely not for that service. It's too bad one person can spoil your entire experience.

Yelp
This place has been evading me for quite some time, but things happen when they are meant to I suppose... or I just have no friends or opportunities to enjoy myself lol; Whatever the case may be, the point of this review is to absorb all my excited energy that I just can't handle right now. It started with a brief walk from my apartment as I often do, I've always wanted to check out fine and rare but this night just manifested itself out of thin air in the best way; one of those nights where you spend a fortune but have such a good time it doesn't phase you. First stop was a nearby rooftop I don't think anyone knows about and next minute I opened my eyes to find Fine and Rare; I just happened to be standing in front and said eff it, why wait, let's go NOW! Then I saw a tomahawk steak and I said eff it, I'll spend the $150! Glad I Did! Service was meh, drink was cool-ish but I liked it better poured into the smoke that was just supposed to be a cosmetic base, the waiter was sure to come back to comment about that but never came back when we needed him. Condescending dude too... I digress

Yelp
Awesome vibe with great music! The decor in this place is chill and laid back. The bar is a bit small, but cute....accommodating! If you need to check your coat, do it when you walk in. If you need to wait for a seat, they've got a few seats. If you want to dine, ya definitely need to make a reservation. Overall, the beverage, food, and music are really good at this spot. No disappointments this night. We didn't really hear too much jazz, just some covers....even Prince's music. What we heard was pretty good from the trio! The wait staff is a standout one! No, it's not a steakhouse but the steak was cooked perfectly. It's not too flavorful, but decent. Those chive mashed potatoes....creamy, light, and smooth! Loved their charcuterie boards as an appetizer! The chocolate cake is a chocolate lovers dream. While I love chocolate, I needed some vanilla ice cream or gelato to offset the chocolate! Overall, it was an outstanding, fine, and rare experience. Put this one on your list for a visit!

Yelp
Dining experience was outstanding. From the starters to the cocktails and entrees. Wonderful. And the jazz trio was icing on the cake. Chris did a great job in serving us, and the whole staff was exceptional. Our new go-to when we are in The City
google avatar

Yelp
This is such a nice jazz bar in midtown, like the name it says it's fine and rare to find in the city. It's very New York style with jazz live music everyday and you don't have to buy ticket to get in. We came in for a drink only so we sat on the bar you do not need a reservation for that, but if you prefer to dine in reservation is highly recommended. There are massive selection of whisky and some craft cocktails not just whisky cocktails. I ordered couple of the cocktails from the menu they are all really good. But if you have any particular whisky you want, you probably can find it here. The bar seats are first come first serve, but they also have some stools around the whole area you can sit as well. The drinks are little pricy but the place is very classic and good vibe. The jazz performance is excellent. Not too loud so you can still hear each other talk.

Yelp
Came here with coworkers and absolutely enjoyed it. Space is quite crammed as it was very packed in there but other than that great time. They have live music daily. They also have bottle lockers where you can purchase a bottle and save it at the restaurant to come back to. We enjoyed all our drinks and food. Only thing we didn't care for was the octopus as it had a very slimy texture (which I know it's octopus, but I've never taste it that slimy) the Mac and cheese however was amazing, so was the truffle fries and beet salad which was interesting as I typically don't like beets.

Yelp
The entrees were prepared to the right temperature and delicious. The deserts are even more impressive! The artists that performed were just as top notch and impressive. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary, and it was perfect. We made a reservation for dinner in advance, and we were seated immediately with a nice view of the live jazz band and close to the real fireplace. I love the ambience and cozy vibes. The service was nice, and the food came out quickly. We ordered the organic roasted chicken, truffle fries, seafood risotto, and burrata. Everything was delicious. The creamed spinach with the chicken was especially tasty, and we also loved the scallops in the risotto. I also appreciate that we were surprised by such a cute anniversary dessert (the "Happy Anniversary" was edible chocolate!). The live music was fantastic, and even the music they played when the band took a break was great too. I'm glad we got such a good view/experience for dinner. I would def recommend!

Yelp
Greetings and Salutations Yelpers Selected this restaurant for my 53rd birthday dinner. Note, a credit card is required to solidify your reservation. If you are a whisky lover, this is definitely your element. The whisky book is about 44 pages front and back. The ambiance is amazing. It's both great for groups and date night. Live Jazz is also part of your dining experience. They do offer outdoor dining and booths seems they have AC. Inside It's a chic cozy decor and feel. Staff very engaging and friendly. As my group are foodies as myself we pretty much ordered almost most of the menu. Drinks were very spirit forward and tasty. Appetizers were delicious. Main courses were good. My only issue was my meal was too salty but I loved the fact I was able to swap out for something else. Issues like that is a big plus when a restaurant does right by its patron. Dessert was an experience the Fine and Rare Sphere is a definite must. I can go on and on but from the oysters, charcuterie boards, scallops, octopus, steak, lamb, sea bass you will not be dissatisfied. It's an experience you need to add to your list.

Yelp
I live 3 minutes away from this place and for some reason I didn't stop by until last night for a friends bday. This spot is an absolute classic. The live music is amazing, the service is great, the food is phenomenal, the drinks are delightful and it's all super expensive so you know you're at a great spot. The clientele was all over the map: everything from finance bros, to geriatrics, to girls night out, to father / daughter couples (at least that's what I hope I saw), to likely third dates (good luck, my man). Can't wait to come back

Yelp
Food was ok, not a lot of vegan selections and the ones they have are not flavorful, crab cakes were delicious, scallops were good. Drinks were very good, truffle fries were great, the perfect place for steak bone marrow ect. My friends all like their meaty dish. The service was good. The manager was very understanding and kind, we had reservations at 7pm but the birthday girl was running late so he was kind enough to extend the hour, ambiance was above and beyond, the perfect location to celebrate listening to live music good Sade music, vivi g to live Jazz, yes PLEASE!!! I would definitely go here for music drinks and appetizers. Bill was 1000$ but the girls enjoyed everything on the appetizer menu each has three or more drinks and that's including dinner... there were 6 or 7 of us...

Yelp
Amazing! Watching live jazz bands while enjoying delicious food is a great way to spend an evening! The salmon with cauliflower, the scallops with puréed sweet potato and pomegranates (GF), and the grilled vegetables (GF) were all delicious. The staff was very helpful in pointing out gluten free food and communicating to the kitchen to take extra steps to avoid cross contamination. For dessert, we had hazelnut cake (GF) and affogato (GF). Some of the food portions are smaller, but everything is very tasty. There is a 2 hour time limit for restaurant seating, but I think you can move to the bar afterwards.

Yelp
O had a friend in town from another state and we decided to have a night of jazz and dinner and drinks. We got a table next to the stage. It was beautiful Food and drinks were amazing, as the ambiance and music. This my second time here and I would come back again. It is an expensive And luxury setting but it is worth it. Recommend!

Yelp
What can I say but only this is a true jazz restaurant/lounge and one of the best. Great menu, but what an amazing cocktail menu... pages & pages of superb mixologies. Tonight we had the pleasure to be in the presence of the one and only Izze Stein... what an amazing jazz vocalist with fantastic range and pitch and a voice as soft as silk. Add the live music with the food and cocktail menu and you are heaven on earth... just love the intimate vibe here and great customer service. Truly old New York. Highly recommend taking your love one to dinner here and let the magic begin. Thank you Fine & Rare for a fabulous night! Shout out to Nash, great knowledgeable and professional waiter

Yelp
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Live jazz in the front room was an added bonus! Convenient location to both Penn Station and Grand Central. Food was exceptional and the prices reasonable considering the portion size and quality. Our table started with Octopus and Crab Cake, then the Flatiron burger, Halibut (2 orders), and the eggplant Tagliatelle. Too stuffed for dessert. Cocktails were also creative and excellent. Except for the noise level in our room (not the restaurant's fault) we had a great time. We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends and family.

Yelp
I was walking to my hotel after a long day in the office. I did not have a reservation, party of 1, and they got me in right away right next to the stage in a little corner booth. Service was remarkably great. Their mocktail was swanky and delicious. Truffle fries were good and I would probably get the crab cakes again too. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff at every interaction.
