We just came here for breakfast while staying at the hotel. The ambiance is nice and the food is good. I just had the Florentine Benedict with added bacon (I need my protein) and it was perfectly done. I'll try their dinner if I come back to Chicago

Hello Foodies! Highly recommended. Food is delicious and solid! Service is outstanding - attentive but not hovering. I'm a lifelong Chicagoan and went to the grand opening several years ago, at least 10 years now, and the decor hasn't changed, it could use some updating. Obviously don't let that be a deal breaker, go for the food, you won't be disappointed!

What an experience the Florentine was! Thanks to chef Jason for preparing all the vibrant dishes, from the color, to mouths full of exquisite taste, belly’s were stuffed. But it doesn’t stop there, the DESSERT… is a match made in heaven (the Belgian waffles with pistachios ice cream). From music to ambiance and staff, we will definitely be back.

For restaurant week, the food was great value. The chicken parmesan was huge. Of the food, the crackers and tomato bisque were really good. The food isn’t anything special though so I probably wouldn’t be going back anytime soon. The cherry tiramisu was interesting. Service was great!

Really beautiful restaurant with great food and exceptional service. Our server was so friendly and professional. When she heard we had a long drive after dinner, she packed us a box of cookies! The food was all fresh and flavorful. You can have half portions of any entree which made it really easy to try several dishes. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. You get the feeling that you’re in a restaurant for business executives. Very cool vibe.

What a magical dining experience! Chef Jason Hedin has revamped the menu to exceed all expectations. His culinary talent shines bright at this metropolitan, city-center location. Historical lobby provides the place to meet before finding grand staircases to the east. 2nd floor restaurant has a beautiful bar & service staff was so warm to us. Thank you to Alexis for guiding us. You were lovely! Chef has turned the simple beet salad into a journey. The beef carpaccio steps easily over those abroad. Cornbread… yes, cornbread, lives with flavor. Lobster & caviar pizza can change your evening. Heirloom tomatoes with a photogenic touch. Head-on prawns are drizzled with a sauce quite literally addictive to the tongue & the polenta alongside has been, foamed for textures sake. And then came the pasta. Linguini & clams were so fresh it was as if the purveyor pulled them himself that afternoon. Just wait until you realize what risotto can behave like with cherries & pistachio; it could change your life. For veggie lovers, and those who seek umami, the mushroom pasta has true passion cooked right in; the broth, ramen aficionados rejoice. Hiding under seared sea scallops is a sausage so succulent you could simply salivate (that was fun). Whole lobster has been halved & filled with a textual crumb before being beautifully roasted & plated alongside tomatoes on the vine. And then came the meats. My god, yes. It reminds you why Chicago is a food city in the 1st place. We understand how to curate carnal cuts. Spatchcocked chickens with a juice like you could never have cooked at home. The spare ribs were my partner’s favorite bite of the night. But then the beef. For me. Primal slabs of meat so well aged the flavor walks across your mouth for you. A 2 inch thick steak that needs no ruler or scale; all 40 ounces are obvious & accounted for. A behemoth & a beaut, sliced for the table. You nibble your lip while reaching for the closest knife. What appears to be the best steak you’ve ever seen is now set within reach. Stab it closer to yourself. Truly enjoy it with sauces served to satiate. A French reduction in triplicate could be the winning addition to my already favorite bite of the night. The beef was better with it & I was already so proud. Every nibble of the evening was better paired with a wine. My lord, they have options for bottles. From $40 to $1400, your favorite varietal is found. Get a white & a red. Why choose? Let your worries wash away. When they walk in dessert you realize that we may need to be rolled away. Macaroons that pop & sundae served table side. He has recreated magic shell for your amusement. Panatone wins the last bite. A wildly spiced cajeta has something my tastebuds have never experienced before; I want you to know it as well. With that, we had to stand up & say goodbye to the best dinner I’ve ever had. This is why good food matters. So we may have the memories & to experience life. Thank you, chef! I’ll never forget this experience.

We came here for team lunch. Lot of foods all looked very nice. I have ordered chicken sandwich and seasonal soap, both i liked it. Also got side as 2 type of bread for soup and French fry for sandwich which was the my favorite, fry are crispy and different from other know restaurants. 2nd we went ordered spaghetti pasta and it was awesome only portion was little less. Pappadelle pasta, I didn't like much. But overall good.

I dined here for lunch today. The food absolutely blew me away! I dine all across Chicago regularly and this would have been my top meal in 2023. There are classics such as Tuna tartare and Beef Carpaccio but these packed so much flavor in every bite. All the pastas are made in house and I had the Orecchiette with house made Sausage. Again, bursting with deliciousness and cooked to a perfect al dente. Don’t forget to try a dessert! I had a cross between a Mille-Feuille and Tiramisu. Service was attentive without being obtrusive and the ambience is relaxed and enjoy. Bravissimo!

Stayed at the JW and ate both breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast - had the Avacado toast. It was delicious, and served fast & fresh. Dinner - I had the daily Burrata special with tomatoes, roasted peppers, and a pistachio pesto. Amazing! For my main, I had Orecchiette with spicy Italian sausage, broccolini, and pecorino. Even more amazing! Service was prompt, friendly and attentive - server checked in multiple times. Overall, very happy with my experience here. With so many great food options in Chicago, I was tempted to get out and explore, but I got lazy and was not disappointed!

We stopped by for lunch for a weekend. The restaurant was pretty empty so we got our food fairly quickly. The ambiance and customer service are both great here. The food was excellent and flavorful. Our order: Belgian waffles - must try! Margherita pizza - cheesy! Fettuccine Alfredo - super creamy! Tiramisu - yum! This is a great date night spot. Highly recommend checking them out! You won't leave disappointed.

The restaurant is located on the second floor of the JW Marriott hotel. There's plenty of street parking available. The lobby is very beautiful. You can take the stairs, escalator or elevator to the second floor. The restaurant is also beautiful with cozy, warm ambiance. My friend and I came here for $25 restaurant week brunch, which gives the options: *Soup of the day or caesar salad *Amatraciana or fettucine carbonara or avo toast *Fior de latte panna cotta, cherry tiramisu, etc We ordered coffee to start. I have to note that the coffee is pricey! A small cup of black coffee was $6 and a latte was $8. Was it worth it? No. For the starter, I had the soup of the day - tomato soup with a slice of grilled cheese. This was perfect for the cold day. The tomato soup was delightful and flavorful. Probably one of the better tomato soups that I've had! The grilled cheese was perfectly grilled and didn't taste too heavy. For entree, I chose the avocado toast. It was quite a pleasant surprise as it was served on a plate with two sunny side eggs, potatoes, and prosciutto. I appreciated that they had a good amount of avocado on the toast. This was very good and I'd recommend this option if you're not open to eating pasta for brunch. My friend ordered the carbonara and she noted that it was delicious and not too heavy. They had a few other dessert options than just the fior de latte panna cotta stated on their online menu, but I can't recall all of them. The panna cotta was caramel apple crumble! Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy this as the dessert was overall too sweet for both of us. My friend and I were stuffed at the end of the meal! The service and food were both really good. I'd definitely recommend trying their restaurant week menu!

The only reason one star was knocked off from the full stars was for the drink selection for happy hour. Otherwise it was really lovely. There appears to be a company Christmas party there and it was quite busy in both the restaurant and the lobby! We got the truffle beef sliders, truffle fries ,chicken wings ( huge!) Peroni beer and a saviogese wine. All very good! Our server Alexis was more than gracious and kind. Which is what I expect from a 5 star hotel!

This is on the second floor at the JW. Very nice decor, the manager was very classy and courteous. The menu choices, service, and food were just OK. I was expecting more based on the initial experience.

CELEBRITY CHEF BRINGS THE FIRE I love a good cooking show, after hosting and judging live culinary events myself for the past ten years. It's always fun to see chefs I know throw down on grocery games or cut throat kitchen. I was excited to see that The Florentine had hired Chef Jason Hedin, as their executive chef. I would have never gone to a hotel restaurant but I needed to have the opportunity to taste his flavors. Gordon Ramsay once remarked how beautiful his dishes were plated. Chef Ramsay was right. Chef Hedin's dishes are gorgeous, like a piece of culinary art. As a culinary judge, we eat with our eyes. The first score is always presentation. These are winning dishes visually. Now it's time to taste these dishes. My eyes can only tell so much. I love how creative the menu is. Chicago has many Italian places that serve up safe Italian dishes. I loved that Chef pushes the culinary envelope. My palette was made for these incredible flavors that truly make my tastebuds dance. One of my favorite dishes was his black pepper charred filet mignon carpaccio with horseradish, shaved parmesan, black garlic aioli, and a house made herbed lavash. Yes chef makes homemade crackers. I'm addicted to them. The real magic was the flavor of the beef. Definitely the best I've had in a while. Another favorite was the buratta with a spiced tomato jam, roasted on-the-vine cherry tomatoes, garlic sourdough, and basil. Our family was fighting over the dish. That's a good sign in a Sicilian family. I will say one thing I did not want to share my rosemary grissini with whipped iberico lardo parfait, and 18 month-aged san danielle prosciutto. This is one bite that is all mine. I will never look at a bread stick the same way ever again. It's hot! I'm never a fan of veggies first but was blown away by the heirloom carrot salad with herbed yogurt and lemon vinaigrette. These are the best carrots that I've ever had in my life. I was even impressed with the lamb meatballs made with moroccan spices, sauce bravas, medjool date, and pickled white fig. My Sicilian Nonna would love the creativity of the flavors. My Dad wouldn't eat lamb but not because they aren't t amazing. It's a tragic story about his pet lamb on the farm in Sicily but that's another story over some limoncello or grappa. The restaurant makes creative pizzas along with fresh pasta in-house. I always tell people eat at restaurants that are making fresh pasta. Anyone can boil dry pasta from a box. You can truly taste the difference. Chef has a lobster goat cheese cavatelli on the menu with a red 'nduja diablo sauce. It's very rich and deep. Its a great dish to share. They also create unique pizzas like the lobster and caviar with citrus crème fraîche, fromage blanc, and watercress. If you're looking for a show stopper then order the 32oz slow roasted bone-in short rib oxtail bordelaise for the whole table. Everyone will be jockeying for position to grab the tender meat, as it falls off the bone. Order some sides with this dish too. I really loved the calabrian spiced fingerling potatoes with a citrus vinaigrette along with the romano brussels sprouts with a lemon zest, buttered breadcrumbs, and caesar dressing. Keep the green dishes coming with the grilled asparagus and broccolini. At this point, you'll need a nap. Luckily you're in a hotel. A bed is probably necessary, after enjoy all this incredible food. I have one request. Find your second wind and order dessert. There's an Italian pistachio cherry gelato sundae that is prepared table side. I love this show stopping dessert. It is literally built right in front of your eyes. Honestly this is the perfect ending. It was really fun to get to taste dishes from Chef Hedin. He's a fierce competitor on the blue team on Hell's Kitchen and now bringing his talents to The Loop in Chicago.

The food was delicious. And the waiter and manager were really kind. I definitely recommend.

What a great place to come get food! The moment you walk in the ambiance is so nice, we had a reservation and were quickly seated for it. The mimosas for brunch are so worth it and all the food was delicious, so good that I didn't even think to take pictures since the beginning. But definitely try the avocado toast and bruschetta with bread! Chef's kiss! The pizza also hits the spot and is very thin and the crust is crispy. Everything came out so quickly too! Definitely will be back

I came here for lunch with some co-workers. This restaurant is located inside the JW Marriott hotel, and offers quite a lot of seating. The portions are very large, and could easily be two meals. I ordered the chicken panini without onions. It was so good. I was expecting a basic, flat sandwich. Instead, I was served a thick, juicy, and crunchy panini. It was awesome. Honorable mention to these killer fries. Everyone I was with ordered them, and I can see why. Honestly some of the best french fries around. This is a great place for a business lunch, but also has a romantic vibe that would be wonderful for a date as well. I would return.

Good food. Atrocious service. It took twenty minutes to get our check, and we were the only people at the bar. The manager took our leftovers, and then somebody on staff tossed leftover pizza, a dressed salad, and OUR SPENT OLIVE PITS into the same box. What the actual fuck. Disgusting. Truly disgusting. Edit- "oh, I just had an olive pit in my mouth for the second time today..." -my very angry and disgusted wife.

A great place for a business lunch or casual client outing. The food is consistent, the ambience is formal without being too intense, and the staff is professional. You don't go here for the food necessarily, you go here because you know that everything will go fine and your guest will feel comfortable.

While staying at the JW Marriott this restaurant is a prime spot on the 2nd floor. The food is decent. Had 3 meals, steak, omelette, and a burger. Steak was delicious, though a bit pricy. Omelette was a decent portion, but had no flavor. Burger was a joke @ $23. All of that could have been a pass, but where this place shines as one of the worst places ever, is the service. The staff is inattentive, and honestly very rude, and un-accommodating. This place refuses to split a check, as an example. Party of 2, 4, more.... Tough. One check for everyone, the table can figure it out later. Can we split the ticket 4 ways? No. Can I just pay for what I ordered, no! This is a hotel, with many conventions, and a lot of people come through. People from all over the world, and they can't be bothered to split a bill? Oh, and just because you have a group, they then add a 20% gratuity as standard, whether they deserve it or not. And in this case, it was 100% not deserved. So, if you enjoy mediocre food at a higher price than it's worth, and you like to be treated like a POS for asking for a simple request, this place is for you. The steak was the saving grace for this place. Oh, and don't ask to swap any side dish. I asked to swap a side salad for my potatoes, and that was a no too. At these prices, they should be more friendly and accommodating. There were about 15 of us there this afternoon for lunch, and the hassle they gave us was unprecedented. Nobody left happy, no matter how the food was or was not enjoyed. Since I can't leave ZERO stars, they get ONE star. Dear management, service is 80% of the "value" and overall experience. Figure that out, and you may be worth a better review. Over 3 meals, food gets an average of 3 stars based on taste and price. Do better. Time for some new management!

I'm surprised at the average review score here. We had a wonderful time and walked in with zero expectations. The meatballs were perfect although I found the polenta a bit under seasoned. There was a bread course that we ate too fast to take a photo of - so that was surprisingly delicious. Don't miss the crust of the plain looking bread! While I found my fettuccine a bit too rich to finish, my wife loved it and my leftovers didn't make it to the fridge. Her seafood pasta was equally tasty and they did a great job of shelling the langostine. The tiramisu and cappuccino were a great end to the meal. The host was charming, the servers attentive, and the floor manager was making sure all the tables were good. The ambiance and decor was dark in a very cozy luxe library sort of way. If you don't like that ask to be seated by a window - the natural light is good. If you like prosecco you should have a glass here.

Getting simple things wrong and below expectations of a JW. Breakfast was good. Service was OK. Cappuccino was terrible (my guess is a combination of cheap espresso machine that needs to be cleaned and or cheap beans (weak for a restaurant by this name), nevermind that it cost $8. Pasta was generally ok. Very nice selection. For carbonara they correctly use guanciale and pecorino romana. The emulsified sauce was rather dry though. Giving the restaurant a 3 as the food mostly works and some plates have extras like banana on the French toast and good vegetable side options. The restaurant could earn a 4 with better execution and improvement to a few key items.

Here's what you need to know: the only reason this restaurant is in business is because of corporate spending. Food is just poor quality. My strip Steak was dramatically undercooked (asked for medium rare and they gave me rare/blue) and unchewable. Didn't come with any sides. Other than the bruschetta which was very good, other apps were completely mediocre - meatballs, tuna and roe baked puffs, etc. even the tiramisu (in an Italian restaurant) was poorly made. Wow Not a fan of this restaurant at all, and I will not be returning.

I recently dined here lured by its reputation and high prices, expecting a top-notch culinary experience. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by subpar service that starkly contrasted with the hefty bill. Despite the elegant ambiance and the beautifully presented dishes, the staff displayed a disconcerting level of disinterest in providing good customer service. Given the restaurant's upscale status and the price we paid, we anticipated a seamless and attentive dining experience. Instead, the lack of hospitality left a sour taste in what should have been a memorable meal. If you're looking for exceptional service to match the expense, this is not the place.

The Florentine was a lovely experience for a girls night out. Our server was very attentive and made us his very own espresso martini.  Brilliant Chef Jason delivered & explained in detail every single stunning and exquisite dish at our table. He ensured we enjoyed every bite and inquired on our feedback. Had the pleasure of meeting the nice manager, joyful Chef Puie and very pleasant Mr. Scott Cronin, the Restaurant Group EVP of Operations as they took the time to touch our table and ensure everything was exceptional. Overall, it was a marvelous girls night out, exquisite dinner, great drinks & attentive service. Will most definitely be back. D'dT

Old meets new Italian- Candle-lit with beautiful finishes. Calamari alla Griglia is very good, and a nice alternative to traditional flash fried calamari.

Happy hour on a Sunday! After a bit of shopping, came down to Florentine for a bite and drink. The place was relatively empty so we had a big booth for 2. The bartender and busboy did double duty taking care of us. Service was fantastic! So friendly and warm. It was kinda funny he brought out servingware for everything, a giant spoon with my 1 meatball slider. Very nice guys and so bougie. We ordered a few things in the HH menu and a side of their grilled eggplant. The pesto on the eggplant was the best, so fresh, simple and well done. Pro tip, get the $5 pizza and swipe up the sauce. Arancini is filled with cheese and crispy on the outside. Meatball slider was okay, a little underseasoned. The wine was really good too, hits the spot and asked the bartender for the bottle as shown.

This is in the financial district downtown so is a spot us bankers frequent. They have a good Happy Hour special. Live music on Tuesdays. Definitely make a reservation if coming for lunch. Can be loud due to the high ceilings and larger space though so keep that in mind. Definitely recommend.

This is a 4 1/2 review, but I round up! We stayed at the hotel, and checked out happy hour specials (on a Saturday!). We sat at the bar, and Sophie was super responsive and nice! Most beers, ciders, and canned drinks were $5 and wine glass and a half were $10. They had a pretty extensive happy hour food menu, too! We had the "pepperoni " pizza (actually soppresata) fire oven cooked. Whoah! Thus was well beyond a 12" and Sophie gave us fresh red pepper! Yum!!! Our next happy hour treats were olives and a cheeseburger. The olives were 0K for $5, but the cheeseburger was fab!!! Fresh made, thin sliced pickles, toasted bun... And with the strange April 80 degree weather, the $5 ciders on ice hit the spot. Sunday morning we returned for brunch. $15 bottomless mimosa ruled. Bagel, omelette, bacon, carafe of coffee were tops! Rips in booth seat, and cold mushy potatoes would be the negative star...

Description said tempura shrimp...idk what this was ...but I still tasted it and flavor was okay and you only get 3 so not filling... I don't t recall what the sauce is 5hough

What a disappointing experience. Service was rather slow for only 3/4 tables occupied that night, and my group was very poorly seated. But the food was the worst I had at a restaurant in the City in a long time, which is the only reason why I would not go back nor recommend this place. My expectations were not too high but I thought I played it safe with the dish I ordered. The pappardelle I had was terribly cooked as most pieces came glued together and others much harder than al dente, which ruined the okay sauce (with barely any mushrooms, which could have helped). The portion size was correct.

We enjoyed our breakfast this morning at The Florentine located just inside the JW Marriott Chicago. It's a beautiful, cozy restaurant with a slow, chill vibe. Our food was very flavorful. We enjoyed the Florentine Benedict and the Avocado toast. The poached eggs were perfect and the avocado spread had a nice citrus flavor. The ricotta was ok, I had higher expectations but it wasn't the best I've had. The coffee was ok. If they offered fresh squeezed juice I'd give them a five lol. It was really good tho and would definitely come back!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a super elegant restaurant located on the second floor of the JW Marriott in the loop. I first attended a nine course event dinner here and I was so impressed, I had to come back and try some new dishes. The kitchen at The Florentine is run by Executive Chef Jason Hedin who was also featured on season 22 of Hell's Kitchen. I just love that show and chef was a contender to watch. I loved how beautiful his plating was on the show and that is the same in the restaurant. I will tell you the food tastes as good as it looks. When I went back I wanted to try some of the happy hour dishes. Chef served up six whole Calabrian chicken wings for $6. The chicken is Amish and it's so juicy and flavorful. I'm not sure how they can do it for that price but it's the best deal in town for Happy Hour. I'm not complaining either. I also tried the double wagyu sliders which were really tasty. This is my new hangout during the week from 4 to 7pm. I also tried some of the regular items and fell I love with the grilled octopus with heirloom cherry tomatoes, gaeta olives, chorizo, and cannellini bean purée. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The dish is really incredible. I love homemade pasta and that is what you will get here. Our table fell in love with the orecchiette with hot Italian sausage, cherry tomatoes, black kale, red pepper, and pecorino. It's the perfect comfort food and reminds me of Italy. I'm also a huge fan of linguine and clams and this is a must order here. The little neck clams are incredibly fresh. The dish is made with pancetta in a brown butter brodo. The fish is really fresh here. The chef must have a great purveyor or his own fishing boat. I love the bluefin tuna tartare with Sipsmith gin ponzu, burnt scallion, avocado, fresno, and house made Italian lavash. Yes Chef makes crackers from scratch. It makes all the difference in the world. He could just sell a bowl of crackers. They are that delicious. I also love the beet, kale, and warm grilled carrot salad too. I know I came back to try just a few dishes but I couldn't stop. Chef delivers so many unique and incredible flavors. This isn't your typical Italian restaurant. I love how creative all the dishes are. I'll take a unique modern twist on Italian food any day over boring chicken parmesan.

I love when a waiter argues with a customer!!!!! Came here by accident for breakfast. The place looked pretty nice and we were starving. Took a while for us to get any service. We finally got our drink and food order in. I simply ordered an ice tea as my drink. After 15 minutes of waiting for our food (which is normal) I still didn't have an ice tea. My wife mentioned to the waiter that I still didn't have my drink. So we ate and got over half way through our food and I finally walked up to the bar to get a drink of some kind. The waiter came up and said I'm getting it now. I told him it had been 20 minutes and I still didn't have a drink. He finally brought it back and argued with me on how long it took. Customer service one o one. Customer is always right. The food was just subpar. Eggs Benedict barely had any Canadian bacon in it. Expensive and not great. Steer clear. Bad service and subpar food.

Place is very nice. Hostess is very friendly but their wait staff is horrible. The attention they give is terrible and getting the extra things is so hard. Food wasn't anything special. Coffee was great though! We have too many great breakfast options in downtown Chicago. I would NOT recommend you go here.

It is what it is. This restaurant is very pretty inside but the food is just eh or straight up bad. Some of the dishes are greasy to the point it's hard to swallow a single bite. Their steak was chewy and rubbery though it looked really good and their fish dishes have never been better than subpar. Because it's downtown and looks nice inside, it's hard to avoid if you need a place to entertain somewhere close. I will say though, the service is always great and friendly. There are definitely better options out there though, so I wouldn't come here unless you really can't avoid it.

All the food was cold. The ravioli was disgusting chicken Parm taste like it came out of a frozen freezer. I did get the filet mignon. It was OK nothing to really complain about but the mashed potatoes on the plate or cold as hell if all my food is not at the same temperature don't bother thought I was getting crabcakes they have crabcake sliders don't waste your time it's only one crabcake and it's horrible. Taste like it came out of a box in a bag. If you're going to buy everything, premade it, not make it yourself a little bit of advice get top of the line and don't charge so much. Then the manager comes by and asked me what I thought about the place and the food and I told him the truth. He never came to speak back to me about the situation so management sucks as well. Nice little Italian restaurant hidden in the JW Marriot. Came by for dinner around 830pm for two on a Monday night during the weekday. Was sat at a spacious booth area and the service was great over the course of the entire meal. There were a number of others at the restaurant but at 830pm at night on a weekday it was not crowded and there were a lot of open seats. Ordered the salmon and crab cake appetizer. I thought the food was solid in terms of quality, but would argue that it is on the pricier end. Not overly surprised for a hotel restaurant though; you could definitely find comparable quality at other restaurants for a tad cheaper elsewhere. Make sure to get the complimentary bread. Our waiter checked in multiple times and brought refills. Always one of my favorite parts of some Italian restaurants.

We had dinner Tuesday night at this place and sat at the bar. Chris was our bartender and waiter. He was terrific. They were slammed because of the marathon and yet Chris still was charming. I would recommend this place to anyone.

A really nice restaurant on the second floor of the JW! I got the orecchiette and I was not disappointed! A great ambiance for more formal meals and the staff was very friendly!

Went here last night for Thanksgiving and had the prix fixe menu. We also ordered octopus as our app, and it was amazing. My favorite, though, was the cheesecake topped with cranberry. It was very rich and actually tasted like crème brûlée.

We had a wonderful breakfast on our last day in Chicago. We stayed at the JW Marriott and had no idea they had this great restaurant on the second floor. They offer brunch on the weekends and happy hour every weekday 4pm - 7pm. We would've loved to go there for their happy hour and brunch. Next time we are in town for sure!

This Happy Hour gem is maybe one of the best kept secrets of downtown Chicago. During Happy Hour, you get a free pizza from the menu- all great appealing options- with a purchase of a drink. One per table, unfortunately, so it may even be worth it to dine by yourself ha! The cocktails during Happy Hour though are more like spritzers as our waitress warned us, so I went with a glass and half of wine. I loved how there was the option to have a quartino as opposed to just a glass. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe pizza, which was so delicious. The crust was soft but chewy, and the flavors and toppings tasty. We also ordered the toasted ravioli, which was a nice warm side dish to top off the meal. Perfect portions for two to share and be full. Our service was quick and not too different from sitting in a main dining area- so definitely a great option for a pre theatre dining meal (we came right before our Hamilton show). Such a great idea for an excellent meal at an even better price!

How does this item Amatraciana - sunny side up eggs, TOMATO, smoked pancetta, sourdough - turn into a plate of sauce with two eggs in the middle of the sauce. You can't eat the sauce with a fork. It's over nothing. Tomato and pancetta is why I ordered. Save the sauce to serve over pasta at dinner. Other than the false advertising I generally liked this restaurant when I dined in the past.

This restaurant is on the second level of the Marriott hotel! I loved how nice and elegant this restaurant was. It's perfect for a business lunch or a nice dinner outing with friends. The dishes were so deliciously prepared and I didn't regret ordering anything! Something that bothered me was the price difference in the menu and receipt. They are 4 different menus and I guess we came around a weird time so the menu was off by $4-5 each dish. We did get a refund but it was just an added hassle. Additionally, I think we came when it wasn't supposed to be busy (2/3pm) so there weren't a lot of workers working. We wanted to get dessert but since there weren't many workers we decided to not get it. I enjoyed this place but next time I'll come when it's a busier time.

We had a private party at the Florentine for a bachelorette party, and the event coordinator, Melissa was wonderful to work with. From the start she responded right away with what rooms were available and gave us details for the exact food and drink items we were looking for. She prepared our contract exactly when she said she would, and the cost was exactly what she showed that it would be. The night of the event a better room was available, so she upgraded us for free so we would have a nicer and more private space. She was flexible on the wines that we wanted (none of us like Chardonnay), and the food was all ready when we needed it. The server was very attentive to us, and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the food was delicious! They even packed up our leftovers for us, so we would have a snack for later. We had a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be back!

I came here for a work lunch, and the service was fantastic. I drink a lot of water, but my cup was somehow never empty as they kept a close eye on it the entire time. For my meal, I had the orecchiette. The sauce was very full flavored with just the right amount of spice. I would definitely order it again.

Olive Garden is better. Service is great, but food is subpar. My pasta was not al dente it was crunchy. Food is over priced, will not be returning.

In terms of happy hour, FREE PIZZA with a purchase of a round of drinks?! What?! My wife and I stopped by here after work last Friday to come take advantage of their happy hour special. And lone behold, after ordering two adult beverages (they have wines, quite a few beers on draft, and some specialty in house cocktails) the proscuitto pizza we ordered was free! Priced at $18 and topped with grilled pears, taleggio, fior de latte, truffle honey, sage and a generous amount of proscuitto... talk about a deal. I mean who doesn't like free? Happy hour is Monday thru Friday at the bar from 4pm-7pm. They had some booth seats available in the bar area which was perfect for the two of us. In addition to their free pizza with drinks order during happy hour, they also have a handful of cocktails on special for $8 (yes these count toward the pizza special) and small bites for $5. We did also share the burratina (baby burrata that was more like a big burrata) and 'njuda (a spreadable spicy salami that didn't sound so appetizing on paper but was actually quite delicious as well). All around good drink and food specials here during happy hour. I'm sure I'll be back around for this one again. The Florentine is up on the second level of the JW Marriott. The stairs from the lobby takes you right up to there. 'Til next time, cheers!

Exquisite dining! Don't walk ... RUN to this experience! The food and ambience is so very sexy! Delicious!

Came in to eat at the bar. Menu looked ok and I was staying across the street at the W so needed a change of scenery. Spent 20 minutes at a mostly empty bar waiting to be served. The bartender was WAY overworked. No support. People had left the bar and their checks, dirty plates and glasses were still hanging out. When I finally got someone's attention, I got a glass of wine and waited another 20 minutes for my food order to be taken. When the food came out ( tortoloni so no real prep necessary) it was missing the extra chicken and it was cold. So cold that the butter sauce had congealed. Let me be clear, this was not the bartenders fault. She was in the weeds with no help. She did all the right things , comping a glass of wine for me, I blame the management. JW Marriott is better than this... get with it!

This place is charming! The restaurant is beautiful, with a comfortable vibe. It was simply lovely to sit back and enjoy this well-preserved historic gem. We were treated very kindly, and service was good. The food really hit the spot with several especially stand-out dishes. I definitely plan to come back!

The food was very good. While I can't say I would lunch here regularly (it cost prohibitive for a regular meal but great if your expensing it), it's definitely great for a high end treat. The truffle aioli fries and the burger were wonderful.
