Visit: Lunch Special and Wings | Ordered: La Crosse Pizza (olive oil base, chicken sub), small Caesar salad, 6pc Buffalo wings with hot sauce We visited Flying Goat after a glowing recommendation from a friend who described it as the place for pizza and wings in Spokane. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite match the hype. ⸻ 🍕 Pizza – Great Crust, Disappointing Toppings I ordered the La Crosse pizza with an olive oil base and substituted chicken for the Italian sausage. I typically avoid tomato sauce, so I appreciated the menu flexibility. However, the chicken tasted processed, like deli meat, and the sweet peppers overpowered the dish. I ended up scraping most of the toppings off and enjoying the pizza for its olive oil, melted cheese, and surprisingly excellent crust—chewy, flavorful, and easily the highlight. I even dipped the crust in ranch and sprinkled red pepper flakes to give it more punch. ⸻ 🍗 Wings – Dry & Lacking Flavor We also got the 6-piece Buffalo wings, which were lukewarm and noticeably dry. The sauce leaned too heavily on vinegar and lacked depth or richness. The temperature issues didn’t help—they felt like they had been sitting for a while before being served. ⸻ 🥗 Salad – Simple but Serviceable The small salad was fresh and basic. I ended up using the ranch dressing from the salad as a dip for the pizza crust. ⸻ 🌡️ Food Temperature – The Dealbreaker The biggest disappointment was that both the pizza and wings arrived barely warm. For oven-baked pizza, I really value that steamy, fresh-from-the-oven contrast—crusty on the outside, soft and hot inside. That magic was completely missing. ⸻ 🌤️ Service & Ambience – A Silver Lining The service was warm and polite, and we appreciated being able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the sunshine and breeze. It made the meal more enjoyable, even if the food didn’t live up to expectations. ⸻ 💰 Value – Reasonable, But Not Compelling The lunch special (~$13.50) is fair for the portion size. But if you care about ingredient quality and food freshness, this may not hit the mark. ⸻ 🚫 Bottom Line: We wouldn’t return, but if you’re looking for a casual, quick lunch and don’t mind lukewarm food, this might still work for you. Just temper expectations, especially if you’re a foodie or sensitive to ingredient quality like I am.

Strange name, great pizza. Huge selection of pizza choices with alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage options. Service was excellent and attentive. Kids menu had great choices.

My go to when I'm craving a certain pizza, "The Kiernan" One of my favorite places to hit up in my neighborhood. Low key, friendly atmosphere, delicious artisan crafted pizza. Most menu items are named after the local neighborhood streets. Friendly service, great rotating craft beers! 🍕🍺

Went out to eat here after seeing how many great reviews this place had and it definitely lived up to the hype. We were in town only for a couple of days and since it was so delicious and a GREAT price we went there for the second night! We shared a pizza, half Waikiki, half Cora. Absolutely AMAZING!! We did like that we could order half pizzas. We also ordered level 3 wings; they weren’t spicy for us but had great flavor. The second night we upped it to level 5. The waitress was kind and told us the kitchen was missing one ingredient for it but they could do level 4 and try to make it as spicy as possible. They came out delicious and it was nice to know they make the sauce from scratch for each order. My husband also enjoyed the Cider. Great flavor, atmosphere, and service.

Our little league baseball team decided to choose the flying goat for lunch in between games. The moment we arrived, we were met with rude, argumentative servers, and management who did not like our group being patrons. We simply wanted to sit together and happened to be on the patio. They chastised us for attempting to combine tables, they refused to allow the last family that arrived to join us and kept them inside. Then when a table opened up, they refused to seat them outside because they had been forced to order food inside. After we got all our orders in, the manager came out and said our food had been taken care of but we all were being kicked out. Our entire baseball team. With 2 hours before our next game. We were respectful, and courteous, and they couldn’t handle a large crowd. They were visibly flustered, and wanted to keep tables open “in case” they had customers come in. Didn’t even get to try the food. Horrible service. Horrible for large groups. Rigid and not flexible. Rude, with an air of entitlement. Avoid this establishment until they learn that service is the most important part of owning a restaurant.

Devils Toenail wings 🍗(honey apple BBQ), 12" half and half pizza of the Waikiki and Lacrosse 🍕 The BBQ wings was SUPER tasty ... LOVE ❤️ that sauce! The pizza was super flaky, perfectly thin 👌🏼 and delicious 😋 It was worth the wait on a busy Monday night. Gonna have to come back and try the other pizza flavors 😋

Google
I had the Margherita pizza. It was good. I liked the sauce but thought the pie was over cooked and dry. Also there was a lot of basil on it.

Google
There were a bunch of people there it seemed like a long time before we were seen to for ordering. We waited a bit for our food too and it came out a little burnt. We did eat dessert first. Then we had our main entrees and appetizer too. It was good the jalapeno bites were good ( didn't remember the name of them) husband liked the beef stew. I got one piece of beef in mine, and as you can see our sandwiches tasted a bit burnt. I liked my husbands sandwich better than mine flavor profile wise.

Linc W.

Yelp
The service was amazing, but the pizza was only fine. The pizza will leave your hands super greasy and dirty, on some crusts there was way too much charcoal and unpleasant to eat. Other than those the atmosphere was great with friendly workers and a friendly atmosphere

Yelp
I LOVE THE FLYING GOAT!!!! My favorite pizza is the Lacrosse & the chips and/or wings are delicious!! Great atmosphere and have never had any negative experiences with staff or wait time. (The most I've waited was an hour and it was worth the wait!!!) Good food and great people to enjoy lunch or dinner :) I often come by myself and enjoy the buzz of the ambiance and the ciders (; Nicki and Ian are the best bartenders, attentive, funny and just great all around. I love the flying goat so much I come every other Friday!!!

Yelp
Great food, Please try their pizza, thin crust and well balanced ingredients And my husband absolutely loved their stew. Service was great, stuff is very friendly. Ambiance is cute and stylish. Recommend this place for sure

Yelp
Visitkng fam. They recommended this for pizza. It's more of a neighborhood restaurant. Almost a neighborhood joint. But we wee in the mood for salads! Ah well pizza during our the next visit.

Yelp
I've been going to the Flying Goat since I moved here in 2017. It's a great place if you're looking for non-traditional pizzas. I've never been disappointed in the food served on-site, it's definitely one of my favorite places to go in Spokane. Our Favorite Pizza: Kiernan - that's our go-to Ambiance: Inside it's a little overwhelming sometimes with how cramped it is, but the patio is lovely, and I feel like this is just a given considering people know here that Flying Goat is the place to be. Service: Service can, however, be hit or miss depending on how busy it is. Wait-times often can be long if it's peak time, and I do not, absolutely do not recommend getting takeout here. Truly, it's best eaten on-site. So, if you're planning on going, I recommend planning ahead-- get there early or call to check-in on current wait times.

Yelp
Maybe too harsh if a review. The place is ok. The pizza crust was too thin for me. Definitely personal, but it was really thin. And the daily special said "red pepper sauce." I didn't get any taste of that. If this were my local place, I would probably give it another try. As it is, there are enough places to get better pizza

Yelp
The food is good just expensive for what you get. I don't eat much so we got a salad and pizza and shared them. Even with my husband eating most he was still hungry when we left.

James M.

Yelp
Long wait to order and when food finally arrived it was stone cold. Waiter was very polite and ordered us a replacement order. Again, long wait and this one came hot, but half of pizza had burnt crust. We were so hungry by now we just ate around the burnt portion. What we ate was good, but nothing special. Too many other choices in town to try this again!

Yelp
I was in Spokane from a mini road trip from Missoula and looked up dinner options on Yelp. Relied on trusty Yelpers and decided to dine at The Flying Goat. It's a great choice. The restaurant is on the smaller side and has limited parking. Luckily we took the only parking left on the lot and was seated not too long after we arrived. Service was good and attentive. We ordered a pizza, half D-Street and half LaCrosse. Both pizza flavors were delicious, but I love D-Street more for the Thai fusion. Overall a great little pizzeria in town.

Yelp
Solid place to eat after volleyball. Had their cider, and someone at our table had a sandwich which was so superb. 10/10 as always

Yelp
We stopped at the FG for lunch on our way out of town. We got the Audrey salad and Gordon pizza. Both were excellent. The pizza was thin crust and greasy, which hit the spot. Service was great. The covered patio seating was perfect for the sunny day.

Yelp
First experience while in town for work and unfortunately it was not the greatest experience. Called in for a pick up/curbside of half and half pizza. I requested the Wellington and D Street pizza and a side of gorg sauce for dipping. Arrived about 15 mins after I called and went inside to pick it up. It was about another 25mins of waiting for the food to finally come out and shame on me for not verifying the contents nor the receipt more in depth. Both pizzas were listed with a discount so I assumed that was their way of doing half and half? I walked out with both pizza boxes (thinking they put the gorg and other items in the 2nd box). Get back to the hotel and find they gave me 2 full size pizzas and no gorg sauce which is what I really wanted to try. The staff was amazing at location and the hostess was incredibly kind. There was even a second woman who walked by asking if I had been helped as well (so thumbs up to those two!). The pizza was good and I'll guess is 10x better served hot. It had already cooled and was almost cold by the time I got to my hotel which was an 8min drive... Wellington was my favorite so far and I couldn't eat all of the crust because it was pretty tough and chewy. Long story short the food is good, staff at location was friendly, but the order accuracy was not all there which led to my first experience being bad.

Yelp
This review is for CARRY OUT. Stopped by on a Wednesday night for dinner. Parking lot was full and I had to park in a nearby residential area. Due to not being confident in the parking spot ordered food to go. It didn't seem like they have an official host. There was a woman that stopped by to seat people but you had to stand and wait for at least a couple minutes and the lady came and went. Ordered a pizza and cobbler and waited about 25 minutes for the food. "Fairview" pizza was delicious. Nice artisan pizza with white sauce, cheese variety blend, thin pears and bacon and topped with balsamic vinegar. The strawberry rhubarb cobbler was very DISAPPOINTING. It was real sour and had very little "COBBLER." Would come back for pizza though!

Yelp
Wonderful cozy atmosphere staff is super friendly and enjoyable. Food service perfectly timed. And the food is a delight. Small menu ensures that the quality is present. Truly loved the unique foods- not just the norm.

Kurt S.

Yelp
The pizza at this place is inventive, imaginative and fantastic. I had the Jordan which was great. The pear and Gorgonzola was amazing. We also had the meatball sandwich which was just okay and the Guinness stew was very much like a curry. It was good but not what we were thinking. This is top shelf pizza! Great neighborhood vibe.

Paul R.

Yelp
The chips, the chips, the chips. Perfect in every way. Had a delicious sandwich wrapped in a small pizza crust. Wonderful. The house salad was as good as any. The service was excellent. Thanks for a great meal.

Jacob M.

Yelp
The food is absolutely amazing! We got the dumplings which I would highly recommend as well as the Cora. Delicious! Ian was wonderful and had amazing service. Ambiance is top tier! If I lived here, I would come all the time!

Brian C.

Yelp
Food was 4.5, service was 5.5! We had a server that was as good as I've ever come across in Jaz. She walked us through the whole menu, gave us her recommendations, and was very enthusiastic and entertaining throughout our visit. The food was pretty good - we'll probably forget that in a few days, but we won't forget Jaz!

Yelp
Great pizza in a really quiet neighborhood area. My family and I were on a road trip to seattle passing though the Spokane area and happened upon this place. Seeing how we were in the mood for some wood fired pizza, we decided to give it a try. We came in the afternoon around 1pm and saw we had just missed lunch rush. The place was quiet and overall food came out quick enough. The pizzas had unique toppings/ flavors and the crust was crispy. We got a few pies to share, with the one being a goat cheese type and another being a curry topped pizza. Overall very good and satisfying. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We love the flying goat! One of our favorite pizzas in town! Our favorite pizza is the Gordon!
google avatar

Joshua B.

Yelp
Food and service are top notch. Fantastic selection of quality large pizzas that come out piping hot. Our family was just visiting from out of town, but wish we lived closer to frequent on a regular basis.
google avatar

Alicia N.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner. The parking fills up quickly, but there is street parking nearby. Tried the Kiernan, and it was delicious. Definitely recommend. The chips were disappointing. Not very crispy. Service was friendly. The restaurant had a sports bar feel with limited televisions on sports channels. Come for the pizza.
google avatar

Yelp
Just get the pizza, the rest of the menu leaves you wishing you chose pizza. Even the salad could be better and don't you dare ask for ranch
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place ! Good food and great environment, stop reading this and just go there already!

Yelp
2nd time here, in a week, in many years. Looks somewhat like its sister restaurant (Republic Pi), but is definitely not. Pizza's the same. Miss the PI bites and twisted potatoes. Service is lacking. Had to ask/remind three different servers for a pint of cider. Three pizzas came out, one of which was not what we ordered, plain cheese. So had to wait for my double pepperoni. Everyone at my table was done eating by the time I got my pizza. I realize that things happen, but they weren't that busy and this is actually the type of service that I am beginning to expect there. Many of the servers have a bad habit of dropping food off and walking away, not asking if there's anything else anybody needs. Your sister restaurant has better service. You guys can do better.

Yelp
I love Flying Goat!! Their pizza is always so good along with their pretzels. Sitting outside is always my go to if there is space, and the staff always goes above and beyond!

Yelp
I visited here on a recent business trip and decided to come since they have an interesting name, had great reviews and are advertised as a "gastropub" on yelp. Well, it turns out they are actually just a pizza and beer spot. Far from any gastropub I've ever visited as they don't really have chef-driven entrees. Other than pizza, they have sandwiches, salads and apps. I chose to sit inside and saw they have several good looking pizzas. They specialize in Neopolitan pizzas here. I ordered the LaCrosse, which was really tasty. It was just different because it had no sauce. Some of their pizzas come with red sauce or a cream sauce, but not this one. I also had an iced tea. Toward the end of my meal the waitress notified me the iced tea had ran out, but I can have any other drink on the menu. I saw they had crater lake root beer floats. So I ordered just the root beer. Turns out they were out of that root beer too...and had Virgils instead. I settled for Virgils. Then I decided to just go ahead and get the ice cream too. The waitress initially forgot my ice cream then remembered it...and brought it out. Overall, a good experience.....I sat inside since it was quieter and there were many people outside on the patio when i first arrived. I'd sit outside next time.

Yelp
Hosts and servers were very patient with our rambunctious girls, and made our experience comfortable. Food was amazing! All three pizzas and apps were better than we expected. Decor was a combo of modern, rustic and kids drawings...felt homie. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My friend and I tried this place the other night. They serve a lot of great beers, wines, some seltzers, and a cider (don't let the picture of cocktails convince you otherwise). I am avoiding beer this month, so I settled for water. My friend opted for a Diet Coke (they serve Coke products). For appetizers, my friend tried their pretzel. It came with a sweet tasting stout beer mustard. She really liked it. Said the beer mustard was really tasty. I tried the Rockwell Pickled Egg. Yes! It was a pickled hard boiled egg. It was just $3, so even if it was gross, it was a small investment. Let me tell you, it wasn't gross. It was quite yummy! I would definitely get it again! For our meals, my friend ordered the Pine Ct Pork sandwich (honey apple bbq pulled pork & coleslaw on a house bun). The bun was a toasted ciabatta bun with a coleslaw that just wasn't doing it for her. I ordered the 1/2 Albi Italian salad (mixed greens, cucumber, red onion, croutons, pepperoncini & tomato with italian vinaigrette). I neglected to ask for no croutons, so that's on me. After removing them, the salad was delicious. Nice fresh and crispy veggies. The vinaigrette had a nice flavor. It was a great item to follow the pickled egg. Somehow, I didn't get a picture of my salad, but it was prefect. We looked at the pizzas and some that we saw looked tasty and some were a little too artisan for us.

Yelp
The Flying Goat was highly recommended when I visited Spokane... and it did not disappoint! We had a large party (15+) and had to wait over an hour. However, they were very accommodating by giving us extra chairs when a couple of people showed up last minute. They have a small parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking nearby as well. Super fast service and I really liked their choices of pizza/sandwiches. It's actually my first time eating at a pizza restaurant haha. Prices are a bit higher than I would like to pay normally, but I don't mind it given the ambiance, service, and quality of food. We ordered 2 pizzas, Dalton and Cora, for 4 people; it was just enough food. Beautiful thin crust and is not greasy. The cold coleslaw on the Dalton complemented the savoriness of the meal. I'm a big fan of pesto and artichoke so the Cora hit the spot as well. Would love to return. 4.5/5 (- for wait time and price)
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Always loving this place. Never disappointed. Fun place to stop when coming down from boating long lake

Caleb S.

Yelp
Went there with the whole family, got some A Street chips to share with everyone, a pizza to split with my wife and the kids all got there own cheese pizzas. Even after drinks it all came out under $90 before the tip. The wait staff was efficient and friendly, food tasted great, awesome beer selection, even sitting outside with it being 90 degrees didn't feel bad thanks to the mister system they had. Inside had a nice atmosphere to it thanks to the toned down lighting. All in all this was a really cool place to go! Only thing to consider is the limited parking due to the location, but that just is what it is, definitely would come back.

Kimberly T.

Yelp
Was just telling my guy I want go there! It's been a while but I love the wood fired pizza a brews
google avatar

Yelp
Dang!! The pizza was amazing. Everything was clean. Staff super nice. We only had time for lunch before we ran to airport, but drinks looked good too!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place since my daughter moved here 7 years ago. Today was the day. We had skipped lunch and had dinner cooking at home. We needed something not too filling since it was about 4p. We had 5 adults and 1 child. We split 2 pizzas. They have unique pizza combination that they offer. We had the Fairview and the other was a half D street and the other half, the Dalton. We all had different favorites! This is a very thin crust pizza so not as filling as those with a thicker crust. My husband tried an IPA and liked it. Service was great. Only 1 other table was occupied besides people at the bar. We were told in the summer they are always packed with a long wait normally. Parking lot was great for today but not sure what it looks like in the summer if they are packed. Worth trying at least once and decide if with the wait in the summer.

LeAna A.

Yelp
What's not to love! Great food, atmosphere and service. Glad we were able to check it out during our visit.
google avatar

Steven E.

Yelp
The crust is quite thin and each pizza is about 12" across. Quality toppings, great sauce, and great crust. This is a place for people who like what the crust is holding. Also enjoyed a few salads, also high quality ingredients. Outside seating and inside seating and a full bar.

Hal M.

Yelp
I love this place. When I lived away and would come home to visit family this was always a place we wanted to visit. Now that we've moved back to Spokane we regularly visit for pizza. New York pizza is unbeatable but since nowhere in town serves that we choose pizza for flavor and this place fits the bill.
google avatar

Tod R.

Yelp
I'm visiting Spokane to see my kids, and my daughter brought me here for lunch. I told her to take me to one of her favorite places, and dang... she has great taste too. Anyhow, the food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely fantastic. I loved everything about my meal and the restaurant. If I lived here instead of in Manhattan, I would eat here at least twice a week. Loved it.
google avatar

Lindsey F.

Yelp
According to my friend - we came in on a pretty off night, and I'd believe it because this place was packed! Right off the bat, it was obvious that there were some communication challenges amongst the staff on the availability of certain beers, appetizers, and toppings. We'd order one thing, be told it was our, order something else and then hear the exact process repeated at the table next to us. When our food came out - it was a little disappointing. The pretzel we ordered wasn't really a traditional pretzel dough. It was okay - but pretty bland and definitely needed the sauce it came with. Our pizza came out much thinner than the other pizzas around us and unfortunately a bit burnt. I asked for ranch to dilute some of the char but it never came. We ended up having a second course of dinner somewhere else.

Bonnie R.

Yelp
Delicious chewy yet crisp gluten-free pizza crust - I highly recommend! And in a region where Pepsi (ugh) seems to be king, this establishment serves Coke. The Caesar salad was also notable as they use butter lettuce, rather than romaine and the garlic-forward dressing was delicious. Our server was friendly and accommodating. Patio has a large gas fire pit that kept us plenty comfortable during a heavy rainstorm.
google avatar

Chelsea R.

Yelp
Welcoming staff at this local pizza joint goes above and beyond to ensure its customers have a delightful experience. Gluten free options for both food and drink make you craving the experience time and time again. Not only is Flying Goat family friendly, it's a perfect spot for a date night or larger group get together. The Kieran is my favorite go to. Go check them out and cheer on your favorite sports team!
google avatar

Shannon S.

Yelp
Amazing pizza, very friendly service, fun vibe with great energy. We can't wait to make this our regular pizza spot when we move to Spokane next summer!

Shay B.

Yelp
What a great little establishment in Spokane, in a quaint older neighborhood away from the busiest parts of downtown, albeit on a fairly busy street. We are so glad we stopped here for lunch, and agree that we will eat here again! I had the Garland Chicken sandwich which was completely delicious, although a little messy to eat. I will order it again next time, but will get something besides the housemade seasoned chips - these were also delicious... they just didn't go with the sandwich. My husband got the Gordon pizza and he loved it! We were the first customers for the day, so the place was completely clean. Menus were brought to our table as soon as we were seated, and we were served waters right away. Our food did not take long to come out of the kitchen.

Matt S.

Yelp
Amazing all around! Can't go wrong! Food is delicious and great beer selection! Very busy place so plan ahead!

Ray P.

Yelp
Good pizza and IPAs are so good. Pizzas are good and interesting combinations. The staff was very helpful.

Matt W.

Yelp
I love the brewery style atmosphere and super friendly staff. It's a very cozy place with a nice outdoor patio. The food is amazing! I had the Cedar Street sandwich, which was to die for. It was really nice to see plenty of vegetarian options on the menu, without making a big deal about it.

Yelp
Iconic pizza in the PNW....actually thee best. I have been here twice and each time the experience is sublime. The Ferris is just pure art for the taste buds. Great staff and good pricing.
google avatar

Lisa H.

Yelp
Great pizza, especially if you love thin crust, wood-fired. Three of us shared the Margherita pizza (delicious) and the fruit cobbler for dessert. That was the perfect amount of food - we didn't leave feeling uncomfortably full or with a box of leftovers. Beer selection isn't huge, but a nice variety of local brews. We sat on the patio so I didn't really see much of the inside of the restaurant. The patio was great, though. Comfortable and great vibe - modern rustic? Is that a thing? Service was good. Food served timely. We enjoyed our visit and have recommended to others when they're in Spokane.

Yelp
We have frequented Flying Goat on multiple occasions and overall have had positive experiences. As crazy as it sounds, our favorite menu item has been the Garland Chicken Sandwich with chips. Their chips are homemade, crispy but chewy, and really delicious when seasoned well and the sandwich is balanced in flavors and textures. Service is good and wait times can reach 1.5 hours when dining in during peak hours. Parking has never been an issue despite the smaller parking lot. Lastly, they have $12 pizzas on Mondays all day (including take-out)!
