Taqueria Cancun Opens Today After Closing for Six Months - Eater SF

"A new shared commercial kitchen has opened in East Oakland at 2818 MacArthur Boulevard. For diners, it’s also a new place to call in Korean and Asian fusion takeout. The Food Foundry’s opening menu features Korean short ribs, fried chicken, and baked pork ribs by the bucket." - Janelle Bitker

delicious chicken and ribs! also the owners donated their kitchen space to allow my group East Oakland Burrito Roll to cook food for our unhoused sisters and brothers in Oakland. Thanks to them we didn't have to cancel our event and we were able to make and deliver 500 Burritos to unsheltered folks! Thanks for caring about our community Food Foundry!

Okay. I will try to be as fair as possible. The food smells good when you walk by. I had the kalbi(?), which is Korean bbq short ribs. I was already disappointed with the price ($6.95 for two (EXTREMELY SHORT)short ribs). I was really disappointed with the taste. I understand that is subjective, so I was going to give 3 or 4 stars. But then they were rude to my daughter when she asked for a receipt. Then they got even more rude when she asked for the correct receipt (the one they gave her had the wrong drink on it which made the cost incorrect). On top of the expensive, small portions of not great tasting food, the wait for food is 12-20 minutes depending on what you order. Our 2 lil short ribs took about 14 minutes. This wouldn't be so bad, if they had a waiting area or parking(it's a walk up window situation). Parking is NOT easy in this area. They also serve fried chicken. I haven't tried it, but the 2 people I know who have said it was okay. Mind you, these are people who think Lena's and Merritt Bakery chicken is "too seasoned" sooooo..... Bottom line; Service is poor. Food isn't great. Prices aren't reasonable. Parking is bad. Wait is long. I wanted to like this place since I have family that live across the street. The Filipino spot, the soul food spot, and the Chinese spot that have been in that building over the years were WAAYYYYY better.
