"No dish is more French than the crepe, and nowhere in Detroit does it better than this Eastern Market mainstay. The ultra-thin, easily folded street food is offered in a handful of sweet or savory options for enjoying on the go. Inspired by “The King’s” famous PB&J variation, the Elvis crêpe is made with bacon, peanut butter, and banana for a combination of salty and sweet. For a fruity option, the tutti frutti is filled with bananas and blueberries, with a healthy sprinkling of powdered sugar to top it off." - Will Reaume

I’ve gotten crepes many times from The French Cow and I’ve NEVER been disappointed! The traditional process is fascinating to watch. The various crepes that they offer are phenomenal, including gluten free!!!! I can’t say enough positive things about this business because you can feel and see that they genuinely love what they do. Honorable mention for Carly. She always makes my crepes with such love. She’s also a rockstar when things get super busy. MVP!! My family and I will always be returning customers.

This was our first stop at the market where my husband ordered a savory crepe. After waiting for 30 minutes and seeing orders taken after ours being called out, we checked and realized that our order had been accidentally given to someone else. The owner happened to be making crepes at the moment and could not have handled it better. She immediately made his food, which was delicious and honestly worth the wait. We will definitely be back-love to support and celebrate good business owners like this!

I had the absolute best experience at French Cow Crêpes! The service was top-notch, and the crepes were simply amazing. They offer such a wide variety of flavors and types that there’s something for everyone, honestly, these were the best crepes I’ve ever had. Highly recommend visiting if you’re a fan of delicious, authentic crêpes!

French cow is really a gem of the Eastern Market. If you live in or near Detroit, breakfast or brunch at the French Cow at the Eastern Market (in Shed 5) is really a treat. It is my go to on a Saturday morning at the Market. I recommend getting to the Market at or before 9am and starting at the French Cow. They typically have everything set up to make crepes at around (or just after) 9am. Your crepe is made with care and they're only making two at a time, so if you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you and there are several other good breakfast places. If you have the time, this is a great experience to have a truly wonderful breakfast and everyone waiting for their crepe seems in great spirits anticipating a best meal.

Waited just over 45 minutes for my crêpe and it was worth it! The staff members were working non-stop for the entire time fulfilling the stack of endless orders on the two hot plates. Both the sweet and savoury crêpes looked appetizing, though I went with a classic sweet one. Despite the hot climate and the non-stop work, the staff members, including the owner herself, worked tirelessly with a big smile serving customers. Happy to support this business.

I came here yesterday (4/2/22) based on Google reviews. I assumed this was a sit down restaurant, but it's actually a vendor a Eastern Market! By the way they were located in shed 5. The lady who took our orders notified me that they do move around a bit (basically up and down Alfred St.). She was very polite, and both she and the cook were enthusiastic about the service they provided! We ordered Josephine's Bananas (bananas, walnuts, and syrup) and La Complete (ham, cheese, carmelized onions). Josephine's Bananas was decent. However I did not care for the La Complete.

The French Cow is the absolute best spot in Eastern Market, it is a must try. The crepes are delicious and beautifully crafted by the lovely Carly. Carly is such a wonderful soul, who takes genuine pride in her craft of crepe making. She has a friendly smile and welcoming personality. Carly remembers her regulars by name and will know their usuals. She even remembers my pups name and always asks how my mom is doing. ☺️🫶🏼 Overall the French Cow is so beautifully orchestrated by the inspiring Marie and executed with poise by their hard working staff. Please visit and support the French Cow, you won’t be disappointed! Make sure to say hello to Carly; you can’t miss her, she has the beautiful red hair and bright smile!

My family and I came here Sunday morning and ordered three different crepes. They were all amazing and we ended up coming back 20 minutes later to order more crepes!! If you’re in Eastern Market or the downtown area you should definitely check this place out!
