Great find in downtown Knoxville! Small cafe with an EXTENSIVE menu. Very delicious. Very busy, but they keep things moving. Plenty of seating. Food, drinks and service are all exceptional. Highly recommend.

Google
Amazing place. We’re staying at the Hilton and it’s a very easy walk to this little gem. First of all the atmosphere, decor, etc is so cute…it feels like what a French cafe would be. The menu is expansive. The customer service and ordering was flawless. Now, for the taste…it was wonderful. We got a croissant and bacon (asked us if we wanted it crispy or regular…who does that?! Amazing), and a Nutella and strawberry crepe…so rich and delicious. Vanilla late was perfect too. We got here 3 minutes before they opened and were already 4th in line. By the time we ordered there were 10 more people behind us. The line seemed to move quick though and our food came out very fast. 10/10

Google
Delicious crepes - both sweet and savory! Fun, well-appointed space with great atmosphere. 100% will return :)

Google
Their crepes were delicious! I had the one with hummus and buckwheat batter and added smoked salmon. I love that they offer a buckwheat batter option. My husband usually like crepes but he approved. Would definitely come by again if our travels bring us back to Knoxville

Google
Very popular spot in downtown as the line was out the door when we went but it moved quickly. Our crepe was on the thicker side but filled really well & our coffees were pretty good too! :)

Google
Loved it here! My friend and I go here each time we visit Tennessee. We went almost every day 😜 The crepes are amazing and the coffee is wonderful. My friend is obsessed with the beignets as well.

Google
I dont get crepes very often so I am not too skilled on this subject but I know good food and they have good food. I get their goat choose and walnut crepe with fig jam on buckwheat and its great experience paired with a cappuccino. Haven’t tried any of their other crepes bc I am not a sweet crepe person but I am sure they are good as well. Hughly reccomend if in the area and like crepes. Also the atmosphere is very european like which adds a lot to the experience 4.6/5

Nestled in the heart of the city, The French Market Creperie Downtown is a delightfully charming bistro that whisks you straight to the streets of Paris with its modern French fare and cozy ambiance. On my recent visit, I was immediately struck by the warm, inviting atmosphere that seemed to wrap around you like a soft French melody. The culinary highlight of my visit was the Monte Cristo crepe from the savory menu. This dish, traditionally known for its balance of sweet and savory, was a surprising twist with its decadent, almost dessert-like richness. Each bite of the crepe was a delightful dance of flavors, perfectly encapsulating the innovative spirit of French cuisine. Accompanying the crepe was a bowl of French onion soup, which was nothing short of perfection. It's rare to find a dish executed with such precision that it leaves you without a single critique, but this soup managed just that. The broth was rich and flavorful, the onions were cooked to just the right texture, and the melted cheese on top added a wonderful creamy finish that tied everything together beautifully. The overall vibe of the establishment added to the dining experience. The bistro managed to strike a balance between casual comfort and a cool, sophisticated atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for both relaxed lunches and intimate evening meals. The decor, service, and ambient music all contributed to an authentic French dining experience. If you find yourself in the area, The French Market Creperie Downtown is definitely worth a visit. Whether you're a fan of French cuisine or just in search of a beautifully prepared meal in a lovely setting, this bistro is sure to impress.

Yelp
We came here before exploring the Saturday market and were extremely happy with our choice. The place was crowded when we came around 9:30 the line was to the door and tables were packed but there was still seating. Grabbing a menu while we waited in line to place our order gave us plenty of time to peruse our options. Thankfully the line did move pretty fast. Since it was our first time there we ordered a variety of things. We got the goat cheese and walnut crepe with fig jam, the monte cristo with turkey, warm Brie and baguette and also, their weekend beignets. Also tea and chai. We were lucky and grabbed a seat upstairs by the railing to people watch while we waited for food. Once it came it was quite a lot but totally worth it. The Brie was warm and delicious with the soft crunchy baguette. The crepes were spongy and filled to the brim with goodies. The goat cheese and walnut crepe was delicious. Nice and creamy and the nuts added a great texture. The strawberry jam in the monte cristo added a bit of sweetness to the crepe and paired well with the turkey and cheese. The beignets were light and airy and absolutely delicious. With so many restaurants around the square, there are a lot of options but French Market Creperie is worth it. Delicious food that is filling and fresh. It's a great place to hang out, people watch and enjoy the company of friends.

Yelp
They have so many options but, to be honest the crepes aren't that good... I've tried it so many times since so many people rave about it but it's really just average--especially considering the price!! I tried a sandwich to switch it up--but I really just paid 22 dollars for a subpar, too hard to bite baguette. Pretty disappointed :( I like the ambience but the food really didn't do it for me.

Yelp
I love the ambiance at our downtown French Market Creperie. It so reminds me of the Parisian cafes that I frequented with my husband just two years ago. For me the crepes are even more delicious in our little Knoxville than in Paris. Our favorites are the cherry cheesecake and S'mores crepe. But there's also other things you can order if crepes is not your thing. Our suggestion is the French onion soup and French fry combo. It is so good, and can stand alone as a meal in itself. On the weekends, do expect a line out the door at the creperie. But don't worry, it does move quickly as I have always had a hankering for a crepe on a Saturday and many a times have stood in that line. Service is fast and always with a smile. Many a times, I've seen the owner Allan overseeing everything is done right behind the ordering counter. If you're downtown, be sure not to miss out on trying Knoxville's mouthwatering crepes!!

Yelp
This is a place about the environment. It has panache. The employees have it. The customers have it. The food and drinks have it... especially during brunch.
google avatar

Terri M.

Yelp
I don't know how somebody can leave a review on here saying they had the best crêpes in the whole United States. I'm guessing that person has never actually had a good crêpe. The crêpes here are subpar. The actual crêpe was like a water down pancake it was not crêpe batter. I got the blueberry lemon curd which you only get a little tablespoon of lemon curd it's not actually inside. The blueberry is a low sugar canned blueberry pie filling. I ate maybe about a quarter of it and threw the rest away because it's not sweet at all, the lemon curd was very very very very mild lemon flavor not like a legit lemon curd that is potent and tart.

Angel B.

Yelp
The aesthetically French scenery was everything. The food was moderate as someone is from New Orleans. The croissant was very dry. They only serve beignets on the weekends for anyone who is wanting to try them. I did not get to try them as I went on a Wednesday with my husband and was unaware of this. You can sit upstairs or downstairs or outside and they ask that you order first before picking your own seating.

Yelp
This place was great! We came here New Year's Day in hopes of finding breakfast, and we really struck gold here. I was skeptical at first because I'm more of a savory crepe girl, and I was hungry. These are usually concerns at other crepe places where the savory selection is sparse and the portions leave something to be desired. This was not the case here at all! We all left very satisfied and impressed with the variety. The locale is adorable too! Super convenient location with nice Parisian themes inside. The staff is friendly. Overall awesome experience, would highly recommend!

Yelp
I'm late posting but we went here for breakfast to celebrate a birthday a few months ago. We ordered at the counter and then sat at a table with our coffee waiting for our food. A waitress brought out our crepes in no time. Service was quick and the food was delicious.
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
Had the spinach, mushroom, onion omelette and it had good flavor. I do wish there had been more egg to them, and they felt thin like a crepe would've been. I also got a side of sausage, and I think that it was over priced for 1 patty. Got my food to go but the line was pretty quick and got my food fairly fast as well.
google avatar

Zack O.

Yelp
The French market is a downtown staple. The crepes and omelettes are so good. It does typically take them quite a while to get the coffee and food prepared, but other than that I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Symone W.

Yelp
Amazing. Stopped in to grab a coffee on a walk, ended up ordering a veggie crepe & an Amaretto latte. Any place there's a line to the door, that's a good sign! Worth the little wait. Delicious! Friendly staff too
google avatar

Yelp
This is always my favorite place to stop in Knoxville, we're in the area about once a year and always make an effort to swing by! The prices are so reasonable especially for the quality. I usually get their traditional macchiato and they use a really nice quality espresso i'd highly recommend it. The lemon curd and blueberry crepe is my typical favorite as well, and the ham monte crisco is my husbands go to every time! Service is always friendly and quick, and the scenery is gorgeous, even when they're packed there is plenty of seats and it's never too loud. We'll be back again next year!
google avatar

Matt D.

Yelp
I have eaten here a few times and always excellent food. My wife recently got a salad and French onion soup and said it was the best she's had in a while.
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
I've been to both locations. I have never had an item that wasn't wonderful whether a lemon and sugar crepe, the roast beef and Swiss with that wonderful horseradish drizzle, my favorite--my Parisian Breakfast with a fried egg on top!! And the salad vinaigrette is divine!!! Thank you for such enchanting surroundings!!
google avatar

Maggie W.

Yelp
The food was excellent! We got there early and were able to grab a table right away. The staff was so helpful helping us navigate the menu. The place is huge and has touches of Paris everywhere.
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
First time here - my son is in school at UT. Discovered beautiful French cafe with amazing gluten free crepes. As a celiac, this awfully hard to find. What a gem! Loved it.
google avatar

Courtenay O.

Yelp
Missy highly recommended this, one of her favorite spots in Knoxville. Now we know why. Service is at the register after standing in line. But our food was delivered, so we gave a 15% tip. The chicken salad croissant was delicious, as was the crème bruler caramel latte with whipped cream. We sat at the table in the window, to people watch, inside & out.
google avatar

Christa B.

Yelp
This became my go-to spot for breakfast while I was in Knoxville on business. The savory crepes are outstanding, I highly recommend the roast beef and mushroom with au jus and the smoked salmon is incredible. The only thing that could top the flavor of their savory crepes is the sweet ones! I am in love with the blueberry and lemon curd. Nothing on their menu will disappoint. Buckwheat is a must for the savory!

Yelp
The French Market has a really tasty breakfast/brunch and plenty of fresh coffee. We were staying at the Marriott which is just a few blocks away and I mistakenly thought our room included breakfast. This restaurant was the solution. The prices are very reasonable; portions served are generous gourmet food. You queue up and order at the counter and then find a table. Although it looks small there are also tables up stairs. You sit at cafe style tables and then the food is brought to your table. If you choose coffee, you get a cup for self-serve. The crepes are not small. They have a lot of choices or you can pick your ingredients. They also have eggs and other options. We ate here a few times and I got a crepe each time because they are light but filling. It lasted me until an early dinner. This is a popular restaurant and the earlier the better. Mid morning during a festival the line is out the door. This is a solid choice for a decent priced meal and you can be in and out pretty quick.
google avatar

Kristen M.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday morning and what a line! It moved quickly and the staff was very attentive and efficient. We found a table for three and enjoyed the lemon blueberry crepe along with a delicious ham and cheese crepe. There is a little gift shop near the register/pastry case. The space has tall ceilings and an upstairs and downstairs. It is convenient to walking around town, which we enjoyed after.

Peyton L.

Yelp
My wife and I love this place. Have been here many times. Food is always great, coffee is great, and we love the decor of the interior. Outside seating is available which is a plus for a nice morning breakfast outside. Staff is always nice.

Yelp
Food 5/5 - This cute spot has delicious crepes and coffee. My favorite out of the two were the Strawberry and Cream crepe. They have a great selection of savory/sweet. Service / Ambiance 4/5 - A cute cafe experience, you order at the counter and they deliver your food to you. You bust your own table and get your own beverage. Overall, a great spot for a sweet treat.

Yelp
Why did we wait 3 years to find this place? No clue but we found it now! So good, I wanted one of everything on the menu! It was quite busy today (Sunday of Big Ears Festival). When we got there, there was a small line just out the door, we decided to wait since the lady said it should only take about 15 minutes in line and maybe another 5-6 to get the food, so glad we waited. It gave us time to narrow down our order! It is very on theme and Paris like with their little cafes on the street, they also had a little upstairs as well. It was nice enough out that we decided to sit outside once we placed our order. We got a few things to share, we just missed getting an order of beignets :( We got the Ham Monty Cristo Crepe, the French Onion and Pom frites, and the Ham and Cheese on baguette. Everything was so good! I'm picky when it comes to French onion soup in the south (it doesn't seem to be a thing here and most can't make) and it had great flavor and good bread and cheese ratio! The sandwich was delish, the baguette was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! The Crepe- yummy! They definitely don't skimp on the inside ingredients, I this we had a whole jar of strawberry jelly lol. So good! We will be back!!

Yelp
I love crepes. Finding good crepes in Georgia isn't easy, so whenever we travel, we look for these little places. I ordered an egg and Swiss savory crepe. Wife ordered spinach and egg, and granddaughter got a blueberry and lemon curd crepe. All were delicious. Perfectly done and very tender. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a turkey sausage or turkey bacon option. Seemed like a fairly trendy place, with a huge menu, but mostly traditional offerings. Nonetheless, the food was very good. Worth a visit.

Regina T.

Yelp
Atmosphere, service and food all were amazing! We had crepes and croissant sandwiches- both were the best I have ever had. We went early, reviews were correct, go early! The line was out the door by 9:30am. I would always get up early for to go there!

Kristen M.

Yelp
Service was timely and friendly, we arrived on a Thursday am so it wasn't that busy. We ordered the Parisian with butter and it was delicious! Had a once over egg on top cooked perfectly! The space is clean and inviting. They have some outdoor table but given the heat we chose the AC :) would definitely go back!
google avatar

Thayne C.

Yelp
Just like being back in France. Food is amazing and service is friendly. Kitchen gets the food out quickly every time. Have had both sweet and savory crepes there and they've all been great. I find a way to get by here when I'm in Knoxville now. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Got here as they opened- which is a must. Otherwise, there is a wait. Great food and coffee. Really enjoyed this gem. There was a festival that weekend- so parking wasn't ideal, but other than that it was great.

Brigid B.

Yelp
Outstanding buckwheat crepe with ham, egg and cheese. I ordered extra spinach, paid for it, but the spinach never made its way into the crepe. When i inquired they gave me a plate of spinach. My husband loved his sausage Swiss cheese omelette. The coffee was outstanding as well. Do not order any croissants. Since it was a French cafe we thought they might be fresh. They were not. They buy them from a third party and they were so bad we both took one bite and threw them away. I would go back now that I know what to avoid.
google avatar

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
Fantastic crepes with gluten free options that were delicious! This place transported us back to France and the coffee was great quality. The staff gave us great recommendations and were extremely sweet. This cafe is gorgeous and delectable. Great find!

Robert K.

Yelp
Great breakfast! Salmon omelette was awesome. I wish I knew what brand Capers they used on it!
google avatar

Greta Z.

Yelp
This place is so cute with plenty of seating. The music is a bit loud if you're wanting to have conversations. The staff were helpful and kind. The wide assortment of crepes are delicious: savory, sweet, and gluten free. The chocolate croissant is okay. I just don't love the prices for one crepe and no side; you sort of have to order two entrees for a full meal unless you have a tiny appetite. I'd return for a smoking hot coffee and two crepes on pay day. :)
google avatar

Melody J.

Yelp
Went back here with my family and just like the first time, this was decadent and delectable! We all raves about the flavors and the ambiance. As always, the service is friendly and helpful. My only wish is that they were closer to my house! Love this place!

Deb F.

Yelp
The food is fantastic. The service is impeccable and, I love the bigger space. The soup came in a huge bowl.
google avatar

Jose V.

Yelp
Place has an amazing presentation. The interior designer of the place did an awesome job. The place makes some great breakfast/brunch plates. We had sausage egg and spinach omelette, with a turkey samich, turkey baguette! OMG! Amazing!! We ate alot and we did not feel obnoxiously stuffed.
google avatar

Yelp
The downtown location is very close to various government buildings and tourist attractions, and it offers two levels of indoor seating and a couple of tables outdoors. The menu is wide, and while they'll do a lot for vegetarian and gluten-free dietary needs, it's worth noting that most everything uses eggs. I tried a savory vegetarian buckwheat crepe. I had just started to dive into it when I was presented with a second savory vegetarian buckwheat crepe (apparently the party in front of me ordered something similar, so I ended up with theirs and mine). Having taken the second to go (presumably the guy before me was made whole as well), I can say having tried two such crepes that the buckwheat is hearty and completely different from a more typical wheat-based batter and sweet crepe that I think the average diner will go for. The fillings were quite filling. They offer a variety of tea-based drinks as well, and a "Paris fog" was strong. I'd still more likely go back for sweet than savory, but the latter was high in protein and flavor.

Melissa J.

Yelp
I used to love this place, the crepes, quality of the food, and kindness of the patrons and people that worked here used to really shine through and make this a gem. In recent years all of this has fallen off, the mean owners became unfocused on keeping the quality of their patrons and shifted to capitalizing on their brand. The food there isn't as good as it used to be and their prices have increased dramatically.
google avatar

Lulu W.

Yelp
Went the morning of a Saturday night vols game and everyone had the same thought... the line was out the door but don't let that deter you because you will order at counter... there were plenty of tables open and the food comes quick after you order it just took awhile to order... there was one guy taking the orders and doing majority of the fancy coffee orders... there was another person with him helping with some of the coffeee orders but I couldn't tell what else they were doing... My husband tried a savory breakfast crepe and I went with the omelette, they also had beignets so we got a few... the beignets were tiny and I wasn't impressed so could have done without those... the crepe was good and soft... the omelette... I guess the best way to describe it was delicate... flavor was there but it was thin like the crepe ... Service was excellent and despite the long line they kept things moving... the food is a great concept but I prefer a hearty breakfast so it lost points there
google avatar

K R.

Yelp
Yummy in my tummy!! So much cheaper to come here to get your Crepe fix then go to France. This place is wonderful! It has been in existence for numerous years and I can see why. Fabulous menu selection and there is something for everyone! Lots of new things to try and explore like Lavender Soda! The decor is fun, stimulating and the service is fast and efficient. All positives at the French Market Creperie!
google avatar

mike s.

Yelp
Very disappointing and I will not spend my hard earned money at a place that treats the customers poorly.
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
This place gets busy in the morning, but we hit it just right and enjoyed breakfast outside. I had the ham, spinach, tomato and cheese crepe and my husband had a gam and cheese omelette - which is the eggs cooked like a crepe and the other ingredients rolled inside. It was all very yummy. Downside, menu is large and written small on a chalkboard that is hard to see behind stuff sitting on the order counter. Had to make a quick choice from what I could see. Would be nice if there was a paper menu to look at when ordering or a clear view. But I wouldn't stop going there on this small detail.
google avatar

Molly J.

Yelp
Be prepared to wait in line. But once you order, food comes pretty quickly. We tried sweet and savory crepes, baguette sandwich, French onion soup, and a London fog tea. Everything we got was yummy. The Bavarian cream crepe was good but not my favorite that I have ever gotten here. It was a bit overstuffed. I definitely recommend adding the fresh strawberries. The London fog tea was my favorite. Earl grey tea with just the right amount of sweetness and vanilla. Daughter enjoyed her "complete" crepe. The pomme frites were delicious! The French onion soup had a nice cheese pull on top! Overall recommend and will visit this place every time in downtown Knox!
google avatar

Richard F.

Yelp
We love this place, and since it is always crowded, I think that means everyone else does, too. Love the atmosphere in this place, it's like you are in a Creperie in France. The crepes are so good--whether you like sweet or savory crepes, there are so many choices! If you prefer a breakfast sandwich, or French toast, or even a salad, you have choices there, as well. Great coffee, too. Give it a try, it'll be well worth your time.
google avatar

Sawyer J.

Yelp
Very good food service was good and it was fast. We did come back at four to eat there because other times it was way too crowded. The place was very clean and it didn't have any bad smells and I felt safe.
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Found this option as I was seeking a nice local location for breakfast during my first visit to Knoxville. The ambiance was perfect. Seating fitted for group dining, co working or a quiet corner to get solo work or relationship accomplished. I was able to find a 2 seater in the corner as I awaited my crepe. There were so many options on both the sweet and savory crepe choices but that's not all. There was a wide variety of menu items and an assortment of cold and hot beverages. This was a very accommodating location. This was my 2nd time in life having a crepe and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to returning to Knoxville and checking out some of the other menu items. When there you can expect to place your order and then go find seating. You will get a number for your food, but don't worry, they will find it. And it's not one of those loud call out your number experience, they are smooth. The staff were very nice and helpful from my observation and experience.

Yelp
We we always excited to come here. Currently enjoying a Peach Bellini. What awesomeness! Thank you for a great atmosphere and service. The French music makes life extra wonderful. Weekends start early here!

Yelp
It was a busy hour during lunch when we walked in, the food was good! I see myself coming back here sometime soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Crepe! We ordered the strawberry jam, s'mores , strawberry and cream. We also had the salted caramel hot chocolates. Which was so good. We love this place.

Yelp
Charming. Staff was attentive and service was fast. French cafe style.... Bohemian feel.
