The Front Room Review - West Loop - Chicago - The Infatuation

"The Front Room is a dimly lit restaurant and cocktail bar in the West Loop that serves tasty New Orleans-inspired food. You'll find things like a cheese plate, lobster campanelle, and grilled salmon. Also valid is just coming here for cocktails and a seat on their patio." - Adrian Kane

Artist-run gallery anchoring the St. Claude scene with free weekend hours and lively Second Saturday openings. Shows often engage local issues and rising Gulf South artists, drawing praise from community arts press.

The whole St. Claude Arts District is something worth checking out. Every second Saturday from 6-9pm. This was our first time here, but not disappointing. DIY galleries like this one is what keeps the moon going round the earth. This is the real New Orleans art scene.

Had a Wonderful! night at Roger Beebe's multi-projector event. Stunning work. Stunning. Additionally so great to have such proximity to the artist as well, as he was so forth-giving about his influences and processes. Tight space; worked well - well done, Front! Seen a LOT worse all over & y'all killed it. Thanks!!!!

An essential gallery to take in on any given second Saturday gallery opening evening along St Claude Ave. Fresh perspectives. Reflective of the New Orleans New Wave.

Yelp
I was invited to an art opening at this spot last month and what an interesting space! There are a number of different rooms which lent itself well to the collection of artists who were on display. The gallery consists of 3 rooms (I think) and an outdoor space. AC was struggling to keep up on a hot August night but otherwise it was a comfy spot. Fun space and it will interesting to watch to see what else happens here.

Yelp
I first went to this intimate art gallery in the Bywater on a date a while back, and I absolutely loved it. It was one of those nights where we also planned on going to Maurepas Foods (a.mazing. btw. add to your list immediately if you haven't already experienced it), which doesn't take reservations, so for the hour wait (worth it) we popped over to his friends exhibit at the Front. Wine was served, they have room for an outdoor exhibit (although it was raining at the time, so we didn't explore that one) and had some really great artists showing that night. I'm still getting into the art world of NOLA, and this place is definitely a great place to view some of New Orleans' amazing own artists.
