"Little Hot Dog Wagon has finally given Philadelphians a reason to go to The Fashion District—outside of a Burlington Coat Factory sale. The menu has 12 hot dogs on them, and they’re all good so there’s no wrong answers. The variety spans from average choices like beef, vegan, and turkey to a Philly cheesesteak dog topped with grilled onions, pepper, and melted cheese (that you should go for). Each one comes with a natural and homemade sauerkraut that takes the dogs to another tangy level. And since there are bonus toppings like baked beans and chili, you can make so many variations that you could come here for a month straight and eat a different version every time." - Candis R. Yelp
I checked out the mall downtown before seeing a show at City Winery. We had parked in one of the nearby decks surrounding the mall, so we cut through Fashion District on our way to the venue. It's huge. There's even a skyway that connects two building structures that make-up the mall. You have you're mall standards inside like H&M, but also an Apple store. Despite being an urban mall, it's pretty spacious and - in the winter - good place to duck inside for a break from the cold weather.

Starr D.

Yelp
This is large multi level indoor mall split into 2 main sections connected by a pass bridge on the upper floor, can also be accessed from outside through cross street. There are a massive selections of shops and brand inside the mall, most are the common necessity stores. They have deals going on this holiday season, highly recommended, what a great place to relax and shop without the cold. Staff from most of the shops we have encountered were friendly. So are people in the mall. Convenient location and easy parking.

Yelp
Fashion District Philadelphia is an expansive multi-block mall in the heart of Center City. It took over Gallery and is quite the enhancement to the area. I've visited a handful of the shops in there, such as Primark and Sephora, and have also visited Wonderspaces. They have a decent food court. Bathroom cleanliness is hit or miss like most public restrooms. Folks working there seem sad. It's a nice layout and concept though.

Sy L.

Yelp
Visited fashion district to attend a fashion show. The old Gallery now known as fashion district. Very clean and well kept! The fashion show was well done and show cased some of the stores inside the fashion district such as Windsor, primemark, and Levi's. I walked around for awhile and can't wait to come back to do some shopping!

Heather M.

Yelp
I enjoy coming here for quick essential needs. I mainly visit Sephora, Primark, AMC () and occasionally H&M! It's a very large venue with quite the options. The value is there and each place I frequent. A wide-range of food selections for sure. Customer service can be tricky around the building with the security staff but I usually have a in/out visit. The cleanliness of the restrooms needs to be improved tremendously. The restrooms are shut down frequently and at times I've been directed all over.

Yelp
A lot of promises were made when the Fashion District was built, but those promises did not come to fruition. Covid has hastened the demise of the fashion district. It's a mostly empty mall. The best part was the AMC movie theater, but the mice infestation there ruined it. There are a couple of good stores, like the American Eagle or the Eddie Bauer. The Gallery used to have a good food court, but none of the chain fast food restaurants re-opened at the Fashion District. The Fashion District is such a disappointment. It's a dying mall that will hopefully be replaced with the 76ers new arena.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
New and nice architecture as well as layout. Conveniently located in central Philly. It lacked a lot of shops, such as Zara, Apple, and etc. It lost my interest after perusing through the mall. The only one that was of good visit, would be H&M.

Dorothy B.

Yelp
Discover our chic downtown mall, conveniently located near the convention center. With its beautiful decorations and abundant photo-worthy spots, it's the perfect place to capture that Instagram-perfect shot. Plus, you'll find a wide range of shopping options to satisfy your retail cravings.

Shayla B.

Yelp
The Fashion District is a large indoor mall with several shops and eateries to choose from. If you're a shopper, then this is a great mall to stop at while visiting Philadelphia. The store variety ranges from discount from to high end. It seems to be a very popular hangout for local school kids. They've got a decently sized food court, and I love that they have a communal space where you can charge your phone (lots of outlets near the food court area). The interior is decorated with bright and beautiful artwork, and they keep it nice and clean. Speaking of artwork; the Fashion District also features rotating art exhibits through its' art exhibit museum called Wonderspaces. It's not always open, but you can check their website to see when they are showing art exhibits. There's also an AMC Theatre and Round 1 game room located inside of the mall. The Fashion District is located right in the heart of downtown Philadelphia, making it a convenient stop if you're exploring the downtown area of the city.

Yelp
Although I keep calling this the gallery, it's clearly not. Not like gallery at all. Not very inviting and kinda dark. Doesn't feel like a mall at all. Half the stores were closed and they have hours advertising that they should be open. Food court could be better too It does have a nice selection of stores if you need a quick outfit or makeup but to shop shop, not sure about that.

Renee D.

Yelp
For those of us who grew up with The Gallery it will always and forever be known as the Gallery and for the most part that foot print is still very much in tact. There's some fresh paint and and new fixtures but to be completely honest the revamp is pretty sterile. I don't know what other word to use to describe the atmosphere other than deserted. It has none of that grittiness that made the Gallery, the Gallery. The old Gallery was always overrun with people always, at every time of the day all year round. The old Gallery was hectic and chaotic, maybe even a little dangerous. I mean the threat of getting mugged was not off the table but it was the epitome of what an urban mall should have been. This new Fashion District though......BORING! The stores inside are run of the mill although they do include some of my major faves such as Sephora, Ulta and H&M. The bowling alley/arcade at the top is promising but overall this space just doesn't have a vibe and on a Thursday afternoon it was pretty much empty. If your looking for a true shopping EXPERIENCE you know you need to be at KOP. Fashion District at this point is just an in and out kind of thing.

Alex T.

Yelp
not a bad place to shop. quite happy with the deals we were able to get at the HM outlet this weekend.

Matthew U.

Yelp
When I got settled into my room for my stay I did a quick search for something nearby that would entertain me and allow for me to find food that was nearby. Fashion District popped up and I just headed in that direction. Reading other reviews I see that this was a mall prior to becoming Fashion District. This being my first time I will not be making a comparison to the former mall, but I will say that don't expect much, as this is a mall. Walking in here was like walking into gargantuan model. It was like walking into an architectural model. Meaning that it felt incomplete, there was so much white everywhere that it comes off as a blank slate. It feels like this was hastily put together with the tenants being an afterthought. I felt like I walked forever before coming to an actual occupied storefront. It is multi-level and has a wide spread of things to do. Not just shopping and dining. I honestly did not go up to that level, I was here for seeing what there was to offer and grab a bite to eat. All and all it was a great diversion from what is outside. I would hope that it thrives and adds stores. Like every other mall out there, it is lacking on options and actual tenants.

Kaliah B.

Yelp
Will always be "The Gallery" to me! This was my first time going to the Gallery since it reopened and changed its name as well as its stores to appeal to a different type of crowd. I came here to go to Ulta beauty. It wasn't as big as I thought it would be, however they had what I was looking for and more. I did a little exploring and saw there was a movie theater and a bowling alley which was very surprising but pleasant as well. I was also glad to see a Cinnabon especially since I haven't had one in years!

La-Kia K.

Yelp
Not much to see. There were a few stores within the district... Torrid, Nike, Levi's, Kate Spade, to name a few. The Wonderspace is also nearby and tucked in the back of the mall. There is a interactive sequin wall you can play with, but sanitize after playing with it.

Re H.

Yelp
It's a Mall. It's apparently all shiny and brand new again. It had all the usual stores, a nice food court and some really fun interactive public art. We happened upon it during our visit to the great city of Philadelphia. We bought a few things, video games, a travel bag and the crowning glory was a complete impulse item of this fabulous Black and Gold trench that has already made its appearance at a wedding and in support of our beloved New Orleans Saints. I was told by an Uber driver that the area had become semi run down and sketchy. There's nothing better for the city and it's people than new commerce and a little thought behind it. The building is beautiful and the introduction of art really speaks to the planners. I hope that it continues to please both it's residents and visitors alike. I know we enjoyed it.

Rachel H.

Yelp
I very much appreciate Philadelphia's efforts to try and spruce up the infamous "Gallery," (it will always be the Gallery, don't @ me) but spending millions of dollars on a new shopping mall when conventional shopping is a dying breed isn't really the smartest thing to do in my opinion. Sure, all of the art curated by Conrad Brenner @ Streets Dept is awesome, the highlight of the brand new space, but seeing as they're not permanent installations is a real bummer. Most of the store fronts are filled with "coming soon" banners and the place feels eerie and cold. The only thing I really think that the Fashion District has done right is that it's left ample room for traveling art installations like Candytopia. I saw an add wall while wandering around upstairs for a new infinity room type installation that will open in January after Candytopia's exit, which should be pretty sweet. Rotating installations like that will definitely keep people visiting to the otherwise unimpressive mall (it's pretty don't get me wrong, but who need another shopping mall). Also the movie theater will be a good addition seeing as I cannot think of a movie theater in that area. I just worry that with it's close proximity to the Jefferson Station that the people who inherit the depths of the subway will expand into the malls square footage and ruin this as well. Maybe we should've spent the money on helping the homeless versus flashy new mall that no one really needed, but that's just me. Overall, it's pretty for now, but a flaunt of money if you ask me. I doubt that all of the store front will even fill with conventional shopping moving moreso to the online market. If they could permanently install the street artist's work, you've have me sold.

Yelp
An interesting redo of The Gallery. It's much brighter with lots of natural lighting. The entrance is now street level. It's more welcoming as you enter. Small seating areas were near each of the doors. Several stores (Nike, Express Outlet, Levi's) we're open but a lot of the mall was still empty. The basement level seems desolate. The Gallery basement was also like this. Century 21 could only be accessed on one floor. I didn't see any food outlets as I walked through. Not sure where they are. As of now it's ok. As stores and entertainment are added hopefully it will improve. I'm not impressed with the redo.

Yelp
Met favorite daughter here one weekend. She and her friend (both from DC) decided to drive up to Philly to support a local vendor (the sable collective). Mind you my daughter is in her twenties and is not familiar with the old "Gallery" which is now Fashion District Philadelphia. It's still your standard shopping mall that has your regular stores (H&M, Burlington Coat Factory, Ulta, etc.). The mall is much more open space than I remembered, which is good. It has the pop up shop Candytopia which will draw a crowd. They also have the City Winery inside the mall were you can grab a glass of wine or beer, however you must exit the mall and enter off of the street for the restaurant. I would definitely come back just for City Winery.

Retna S.

Yelp
Came here on the first weekend of the opening. Many stores aren't opened . There are interactive screens to find the store you are looking for. They need to put customer service station to help visitors. Main food area is at the lower level aka the concourse near Jefferson Station. Chickie's and Pete's, Pei Wei, Pizza, chick fil a. South Fellini is an awesome store to find Philadelphia themed clothing. Don't forget to take a picture with Kim Cattral's mannequin. There's a jerky store where you can have samples

Melanie R.

Yelp
Been wanting to check this place out since they opened and I've got to say... it's pretty nice! They've got your typical mall stores like Forever 21, Guess Factory, Express, H&M, Journeys... etc... but it's definitely got that new mall vibe because everything right now is so clean and pristine and organized! Like, I can actually tolerate shopping at Forever 21 because it's that neatly organized. I'm hoping that doesn't change.. but probably will. They've got AMC theater there as well.. and also saw they've got a City Winery bar inside the mall and also Yards Brewing as well. The main City Winery Restaurant tho you have to exit the mall to get there. All the stores have not opened yet.. I'm mainly looking forward to checking out Round 1 I think it's called, where they'll have bowling.. so I can't wait for that to open up. But nice decor inside.... just check it out! They've got art and murals throughout the mall which I enjoyed. Fun to just walk around all the different levels. Will definitely be back and looking forward for the other stores to continue to open! Kate Spade coming soon.... and hopefully much more! Candytopia is also currently there... so that seems like a popular attraction for people to check out!

Yelp
Although I do miss the Gallery that this mall has replaced, this new place gives me a feeling that we've upgraded Philadelphia! The indoor mall has been revamped, with new and awesome list of stores to choose from. I used to have to drive over the bridge to cherry hill mall or as far as king of Prussia to reach some of these stores. They're luckily all right here. Forever 21, H&M, Francescas, Nike, Eddie Bauer! Lots more including round 1 gaming place and one of my favorite movie chains: AMC. Lots of open space, lots more places to put new stores, definitely recommend it keep expanding now that century 21 is on its way out.

Dana S.

Yelp
I have only been in here once while I was downtown with some family. There were so many different shops in this mall like Forever 21 which is one of my top favorite stores, Express, and H&M. The mall is very spacious and many of the store are neatly organized, I guess cause its still considered a new mall. Along with the clothing stores, there are also wineries in there and a brewery which to me is a plus for those who want to sip on something waiting for their partner to get finished shopping (men lol). Overall it seems like a great spot to shop and sip, and come with family or friends, I would come back again at some point.

Tiffany B.

Yelp
This Mall used to be called the Gallery and has been updated and renamed. There seems to be no theme to the arrangement of stores. I'm not sure who they are catering to with this collection of retailers. It's like they attempted to go upscale from what was originally here but with mid range retailers and a few one of a kind specialty stores. I'm not sure if the food court I walked through was the main food court but if so it definitely leaves much to be desired. The one gem I think exists is Primark. The price points in this store are amazing for the look of the items. I'm not sure of the wearability or durability but I will circle back after I've worn my items. I'd definitely return for the Primark alone.

Leah L.

Yelp
Today is the grand opening and it's super packed, love this place from what it used to be as the gallery mall. This will bring lots of visitors to the area which is much needed. Plenty of new store with space. I love the fact they made is very spacious. Lots of place to eat and to entertain all in one.

Michael C.

Yelp
Awesome and massive attached to the iconic Reading Terminal Market. Not enough time in the day.

Larry A.

Yelp
Fashion District is a new high-end mall in downtown Philadelphia. It's a very nice place to shop. They have a nice range of stores, from luxury to outlet stores such as Nike! Parking is decent. A must stop if you're downtown.

Farrah B.

Yelp
This is a revamp of the old Galleria mall that all of my cousins from philly used to take me to as a kid. The face lift is amazing with everything being updated, including the food court. It looks like a lot of stores or contracted to open soon, but there is still plenty of stores available for shopping. It's really helpful that it his all connected in the septa station in can carry you all the way to one shopping area to another.

Leyla B.

Yelp
so different from when I was kid but in a good way! almost every store I visited was organized and clean. The mall itself was clean, parking is easy, and good selection of stores. My new favorite mall.

Kathy A.

Yelp
Nice walk from the convention center. People are pretty nice, but there must be a sewer issue because some stores literally smelled like "ew". Didn't stop me from going there though. Nice and AC'd and again, the people were super nice.

Lauren M.

Yelp
I had no idea this was the old gallery! Crazy! This place reminded me of the fashion mall in Vegas. They have some really cool lighting throughout. You get dumped right into it from the train which is cool if you are taking the train to Philly. There were a lot of stores that still weren't open despite the fact that the grand opening was in September. There are a lot of places to get food. Chickie's and Pete's, chick-Fil-A, Philadelphia pretzel factory, etc. They had a cool floating Christmas tree that has a light show set to music every half hour. It was cool. There are very different vibes throughout depending on where you are. It looked bright and clean. The bathroom needed some tending to. It's easy to get to, is in the hub of Philly, has a lot of stores (including outlet stores) and many more on the way. I recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

mark y.

Yelp
Nice remodel but lacking in store selection. Would like to see more stores restaurants that could compel you to visit. Current stores of note are Nike factory outlet, Burlington, Century 21, H&M.

Midnight C.

Yelp
This is more a Review of a particular spot inside of the Fashion District, rather than as a whole. Sweet Treat Chill is an excellent place to find all your Açaí bowl needs as well as an amazing wonderfully helpful staff, with Pam being the one taking all of my request. Super delicious, superb customer service and incredible understanding. Definitely a spot you don't wanna miss. Preciate' you Pam!! Best regards, Eden

Andrea F.

Yelp
I had higher hopes for this based on all of the marketing I had seen for it leading up to the opening, however, it just seems to be any old mall. I remember it when it was the Gallery, so to me this new revival is essentially just the Gallery, but with a glossy white veneer. I don't particularly remember which stores were in the Gallery (I think a lot of them weren't name brands), so perhaps the additions of big staples like Nike, Samsonite, Levis, etc., will help to ensure its survival, unlike its predecessor. I DO love that a lot of them are outlets so I don't have to drive all the way out to Limerick or Gloucester for the deals. The layout is also very clean and bright, which helps a bit. But on the other hand, it still boasts teeny bopper stores that I thought went out of business years ago, like Zumiez, Journeys, Gamestop, Hollister, Spencer's Gifts, etc., which I don't feel has a huge market, especially with so many competing online retailers (I could be wrong, though!). I WILL say that it still is a work in progress and I did see a lot of signs for stores that are going to be opening soon, so that's a plus, but walking through here made me feel like I was walking through my hometown mall at the age of 14. I dunno, maybe that's the point, to invoke a sense of late 90s/early 2000s nostalgia. I visited on a Thursday afternoon middle of the day around 2:00 p.m. and it was like a ghost town which makes me a bit skeptical. Hopefully on nights and weekends it picks up but from my first impression it seemed to be another mall that may be doomed for failure. I hope I'm wrong. Before strolling through the shops I first stopped at the food court that's connected to the Market East station, which is convenient, albeit feeling a bit like Suburban Station with the whole "I'm eating underground" thing. It's definitely well kept and it offers a lot of seating, plus there's tons of food options and even a bakery. I stopped at Freshii for a quick lunch and they actually gave me $3 off for having a septa key card! With all that said, I think the addition of attractions like Wonderscapes, Candytopia, and the City Winery (which I'm eager to try) will definitely help to drum up business and bring in crowds of all ages. I'm not knocking it entirely and would like to come back on a weekend to get a feel for it then.

Jennifer Z.

Yelp
The mall is spacious and has a little of everything from fast fashion stores like H&M and Forever 21 to branded stores like Kate Spade and Nike. Very nice location for gift shopping and great discounts year round. There is also a movie theater and arcade perfect for date nights and close to Chinatown. There are also a decent selection of food and drinks and conveniently attached to the MFL and Regional Rails.

Joseph R.

Yelp
I was assaulted twice tonight, and the security guards did absolutely nothing. They could have stopped the second attack, but didn't do anything after the first. They literally allowed a group of teenagers to follow me, and attack me again. They said nothing to me, didn't even ask if I was ok. Another shopper and her family had to stand up for me. This is UNACCEPTABLE! Security has one job, to protect, and none of the SEVERAL guards did anything. They need proper training and how to deal with LGBTQ+ customers.

Dawn M.

Yelp
So beautiful!!! Especially during the week i go in i have the place to my self no lines!! So many great stores!!!

Brenda L.

Yelp
This mall is on the outskirts of Chinatown and isn't necessarily a mall I would go out of my way to shop at.It isn't very large but it does have a few stores I'd go to like Forever 21, H&M or Ulta. The mall is multi-leveled and has some half levels as well. I liked that they put on Lunar New Year decor in January but it wasn't something huge, just a few lanterns here and there and some dragon paper decorations. They have a bar area at the bottom floor that is like an open kiosk without walls. The space is open and bright. There were some cool art/designs on the walls that made for nice Instagram backgrounds.

Victor W.

Yelp
4 for interesting brightness and excitement, interesting sites 3 for ease/walkability given the placement of stairs and variations It's really pretty, has good A/C and visuals with fun wall designs Tips/Takeaways: -A fun little stroll to take with friends -So far, not all the stores are open yet, variety is decent, places like AMC/Bowling/Round 1 are still not open -Will try to circle back once more stores open up!

Neighborhood L.

Yelp
Nice new mall. Much better than the Gallery at Market East which it replaced. Note: If you're walking along Market Street and you see new chain stores, you're at the Fashion District. There are entrances further along Market Street (walking away from City Hall) and on side streets.

Sherese R.

Yelp
Im loving it! It's beautiful and they have many stores I shop at and more to come. If you remember how the old Gallery connected to Clover/JC Penny's that's how things are now..connecting to Century 21 and Burlington, not having to walk back outside is always a plus. I hoping that there will be more food venders; the prior food court is missed. If it's nothing but to get a little bit of exercise, I'm enjoying the new and improved Gallery.

Peter S.

Yelp
I remember coming here during high school when it was the gallery. They really have cleaned this place up and it's pretty nice. The stores are ok but much better then what was there before. I'm happy to see Philadelphia getting a facelift. But parking still sucks lol

Tonya W.

Yelp
Great mall!!!! Lots of different stores to meet all different style preferences. Very spacious. Not crowded at all. Would definitely recommend adding this into your trip when visiting Philly.

by m.

Yelp
Coming to the gallery i loved it!! I wish there were more stands, such as food/snacks or stands to buy jewelry. The district feels a bit empty that's why I say that. But I went to Hollister on the 3rd floor i think and it was the best experience. My sister and i were automatically greeted by two gentlemen! He showed me jeans that I was looking for and showed me to the fitting rooms. Another gentleman and I had a great conversation!! he was so nice he didn't make me feel like i was unwanted in the store!!!

Alexis B.

Yelp
Anticipated the opening of it but it does not live up to the hype. The store selection isn't that great at all. The best part of it is ulta honestly and maybe jamba juice. The food court is a mess and you can't even eat in peace. You have to deal with bums coming up to you begging. Security doesn't do a good job of making sure guests have a good experience. Hopefully things do improve.

Melody K.

Yelp
It was okay. There are certainly a lot of stores posted inside - but most of them are in the works in opening. The building is clean and there is quite a lot of walking - wonderful to wear down the kids. And plenty of shopping to be done.

Nicholle K.

Yelp
A more spacious and upscale look and design with a stretch of stores from 11th to 8th Street. Many of the stores are ones that are located outside of the city or over the bridge. HOW - EVER. Went there on a weekday and at 1:45 in the afternoon and it's already a hangout place for school kids. Not one or two. I'm talking tons of 'em roaming around up and down the escalators, hanging out in the food court, in and out of the stores at 1:45pm in the afternoon during school hours? Is anyone taking role at these schools?? AND, the Arcade and AMC Movie Theatre hasn't even open yet. Just wondering how well that part was thought out? All in all, a nice place to shop, sight see or chill. Just hope it stays that way.

City L.

Yelp
The mall is now much brighter and cleaner than the old Gallery. Difficult to enter the mall as many entrances were not open, the entire food court is shut down right now. Chick-fil-A closed permanently. Maybe the others (Burger Fi, Pei Wei, etc) will re-open post-pandemic. However, the old Gallery had a much better food court. When they renovated this mall they created a tiny food court especially compared to the large square footage the mall itself is. Huge disappointment there. And the sit down restaurants are lacking as well. Only one place, City Winery (which is closed right now) and not a place I would visit anyway. Good stores if you are looking for teen brands (Aero, AE, A/X, Guess, Levi) and athletic wear/sneakers (Nike, Sketchers, etc), not as much otherwise. A good place to walk if you are the neighborhood and want to go indoors.

Carmella V.

Yelp
It's new and clean (for now anyway). The stores aren't anything special (that I saw). As of right now I'm very disappointed. I was expecting more.
